Homecoming

Janice, Helen, and the rest of the vacuum brigade had returned from the warehouse. Helen began her rounds and found someone very familiar sitting in front of the water cooler. "Pink?"

The desk lamp turned to face Helen. "Oh, hi, Helen. I haven't seen you in a while."

Helen paused. Last time she saw the Morganite, she was completely faceless.

Though the transplant changed Pink's eye color from silver to blue.

Janice peeked around the corner. "Pink's back?"

Janice approached the desk lamp.

"Oh, Janice!" Pink said. "It's a pleasure to see you again." Pink paused. "I never thought I'd return."

Janice picked up a stray paper that had fallen off the desk. She read it. "Recent Purchase. Refurbished Luxley Golden Nectar. To be used for places that large vacuums can't reach."

The following day, Janice's master brought in the Vacuum Brigade's newest recruit. Betsy, Mimi, Rick and Helen went to greet their new friend.

"Hi, I'm..." the handheld said. He paused. Why wasn't he hiccuping anymore? He then remembered he had to be repaired. "Mango. I've always wanted to work in an office."

"So, who's going to give him the tour?" Helen asked.

Rick wheeled forward. "I volunteer."

Rick and Mango left the vacuum closet.
