Merlin and Arthur had been riding for hours. The trees were still going and didn't seem like they were going to end. Luckly though they hadn't had to deal with anymore birds! Well not for now anyway. In the forest there had been no noise, which was quite peaceful but a little too peaceful.

"It's too quiet." Arthur whispered.

Merlin couldn't agree more. When there was no noise it meant that something was about to happen and usually it wasn't a good thing.

"Just be on your guard." Merlin replied just as quietly.

"What do you think I'm doing?!"

"Being a prat."

Arthur stopped his horse. Merlin nearly went past him and nearly didn't stop but managed just about to stop it.

"What?" Merlin asked.

"Don't call me that."

"I always call you that. What's makes the difference now?"

"I could be king soon."

Merlin went quiet. Arthur was right for once, if they didn't get back to Camelot soon, Uther could die, and Arthur could become king.

"Sorry sire." Merlin finally whispered.

"It's fine. Just don't do it again." Arthur said making his horse carry on walking.

"I won't." Merlin said making his horse follow Arthurs.

The two followed into the forest.

Back at the castle, everyone was sleeping. After the day they had all been through they needed it. Gaius still kept an eye open to keep an eye on Uther just in case he was needed again. Morgana was also awake, true she didn't sleep at all most nights.

"Gaius?" She whispered.

"Yes, my lady?"

"I can't sleep."

"Well try harder."

"Gaius!"

"Sorry. Just a long day."

Gaius sighed. Morgana wasn't going to go to sleep easily now. Gaius got up and walked over to Morgana.

"I'm sure everything will be fine." Gaius tried to soothe her.

"Me too."

"Just keep hopeful Morgana and things will find their way in the end."

"You haven't said that since I was little."

"Well I didn't think you'd want to hear it anymore."

"Maybe sometimes." Morgana smiled.

Gaius was very happy to see Morganas smile. She hadn't smiled in a while and now it was the best time to see a smile from her. Gaius went to say something else but a knock at the door of the dungeon woke everyone up.

Everyone stared at the door, hoping the person would go away. Another knock sounded through the dungeon. It wasn't one of the guards, they would have called out first. It must be one of the Saxons. The servants moved forward to protect everyone in the dungeon from whatever was on the other side of the door.

Arthur and Merlin had found a place to sleep for the night. A cave had suddenly come up in the forest and it was a lot better than sleeping on the forest floor. Plus, Arthur didn't like creepy crawlies, so the cave was the better idea.

"I wonder how Camelot's doing without us." Merlin asked Arthur once they had settled down for the night.

"Without me you mean." Arthur replied.

"What about me?"

"I'm more important." Arthur said turning over in his bed.

Merlin kissed his teeth. Arthur could be very annoying at times and now was one of those times. Someone in Camelot wanted him back. They must do somewhere.

"Merlin?"

"Yes sir?"

"Have you ever wondered what's under the castle?"

"Sir?"

"Well you know, my father keeps something hidden away down there."

"Does he?" Merlin was worried to say anymore. He wasn't going to out the dragon.

"Apparently."

"I'm sure it's not important sir."

Arthur nodded a little. Merlin really wanted to change the subject just before he did make a mistake and told Arthur about the dragon as he was sure Arthur would try and save it, even if it was a dragon!

"Let's get some sleep."

"Hang on, the conversation was only starting to get interesting!"

"Yes, but I'm sleepy."

Merlin turned away from Arthur so he could sleep and leave Arthur to sleep. Arthur wanted to throw a pillow at Merlin like he usually did back at the castle but thought against it when he reminded himself of what was at stake.

"Who goes there?" Gaius called out.

There wasn't an answer from the other side of the door. It was obvious that whoever it was, wasn't a friend. Gaius pushed Gwen and Morgana away so he could get them safe.

"What are you doing?" Gwen asked Gaius.

"Get her away from here." Gaius hissed.

"I'm not leaving!" Morgana hissed back.

"My lady!" Gaius started but there was another crash from the other side of the door.

"Please Gaius." Morgana pleaded.

"Look after Uther." Gaius finally gave in.

Morgana nodded and grabbed Gwen to come with her. They went to the kings side. They didn't look up from what they were doing just in case something happened to Gaius or the rest of the servants that were protecting them. Gaius went up to the door. He toom a deep breath and opened the door.

"Yes?" Gaius said opening the door a little so the person couldn't see all the way into the room.

On the other side of the door was exactly what Gaius thought it was. A Saxon! They were in a lot of trouble!
