Hey everyone,
Good news, I have enough planned for another 4, 5 maybe even 6 chapters. I did decide to make the whole Umbridge thing be next chapter as it will be mixed with Harry returning to the Garden to show Sirius and Ansem that he has regained the Keyblade. After that Harry is going to spend the weekend at the Garden, which will be a chapter by itself, and then we are going to cover the Master's Backstory.
And because this will cover everything between BBS and KH III as well as several bits of the HP books, I am pretty sure that I am going to need two, maybe even three chapters just to cover that. Also, I am going to make a couple of changes to the HP timeline in regards to the Dursleys and their treatment of Harry. And it might surprise you all, but they are not going to be as nasty as I usually make them or even as nasty as they are in canon.
I know, shocking,

Chapter 21
The Demonstration – Part 02
16th of September 1995
Quidditch Pitch, Hogwarts
Lea's POV
I am beyond delighted at seeing Harry standing there in the stands, with his arms stretched up and his Keyblade in hand once again. It does hurt a little to notice that the Keyblade's colors have been changed, as the four bows on the blade used to be bright yellow, but are now several shades of grey and the guard around the handle used to be bright orange and red, but is now greyish black with a light blue outline.
Still, the blade itself goes from bright blue at the hilt to a darker blue at the tip and the gull at the end of the blade, while dull in color, is still there. And the best of all is that the tips of the wing of the gull, which represent the teeth of the Keyblade, are also several bright shades of blue. The whole thing does prove that Harry still has some healing to do, but the knowledge that he's regained his ability fills me with confidence that he can.
"Once the demonstration is over, I'm going to send him back to the Garden. Master Ansem will be thrilled beyond belief to see him like this." Axel mutters to the rest of us and I nod in agreement. I notice that Fudge has recovered from his shock and that his face is turning red, but before he can have a go at my honorary brother, Terra raises his voice to be heard over the rest of the crowd, all of whom have found their seats, and yells:
"Ladies and gentlemen, students and teachers of Hogwarts and honored guests! Welcome to the demonstration. This event is a reward for all students of Hogwarts for participating in the two-week DADA event where they were to partake in one class lead by former Professor Umbridge and one of Master Yen Sid. I say former as Miss Umbridge is facing charges of the ICW, including two attempts of murder."
"THIS IS FALSE! PROFESSOR UMBRIDGE IS AN UPSTANDING CITIZEN! POTTER IS JUST TRYING TO DESTABILIZE OUR BEAUTIFUL GOVERNMENT! HE'S NOTHING BUT A TROUBLEMAKER AND PROFESSOR UMBRIDGE WAS ONLY HERE TO BRING HIM TO TASK!" The redhead on the other side of the Minister yells, but Aqua steps forward and loudly tells the loudmouth:
"Three hundred students saw her attempt of murder. Are you telling me that all of them, including several who have parents that are, as you say, upstanding citizens, are lying? Are you calling the son of Lucius Malfoy, who is close friends with your own boss, a liar? Is that what I'm hearing, young man?" The redhead splutters and stutters and Aqua grins as she says: "Yeah, didn't think so. Next time you want to argue a case, check your facts first."
A couple of students and even a few of the adults that have come to watch all snicker or hide their laughter by either trying to cough or by covering their face with their hand or a handkerchief. I grin myself as I know that Aqua didn't just use the young Malfoy because of his father. It's also because she felt sure that the redhead, who unfortunately is related to Ron and his siblings, would know all about the rivalry between Harry and the Malfoy scion.
Ventus steps up and while the lad is in his twenties, he still has a bit of a teenage timbre to his voice. Yet this tone doesn't affect the strength or the care in his voice as he speaks. "Now then, we will not deny that we care for Harry and the other students a great deal. And the fact that miss Umbridge was willing to cast an Unforgivable, while there were at least two dozen students seated between her and Harry is unacceptable to us. Because of this we felt the need to see her punished personally first and professionally after.
However, since then we have calmed down and realized that our full power would be too much for miss Umbridge to handle and that we might damage her to the point that officially punishing her would be pointless. Because of this, we decided to change our plans. Instead of miss Umbridge being the target of a portion of our Demonstration, she will be at the front and center and will see for herself what will happen should she ever try this again.
And this is not just a warning to her, but all those who think that, just because they are an adult or have a high position somewhere, they can intimidate, threaten or in any other way hurt those who either are not an adult of their age or do not have a position like them. Power is something that should be used for the better of the people, to keep balance between Light and Dark. It should never be used for selfish means.
We will now demonstrate what, in our worlds, true power can do when used for the better of others. We hope you enjoy and that you learn. We also hope that the students will take this demonstration as a preview of what, with many years of training and skill, they might one day be able to achieve. Remember, this skill lies within you all and we are here to teach you. To help you gain access to this skill and learn how to use it for the world around you.
Enjoy." And with that all of us move to different parts of the circle that we drew on the ground of the stadium after the Master and Headmaster Dumbledore managed to change the pitch to better serve our purpose. While I walk, I turn to look at Harry and smile at the sight. While Ven talked, the Master used a bit of his own magic and created a bit of space between Ron and Fudge. He also summoned his usual seat and set it in the space between.
And while Fudge and the obnoxious Weasley are obviously not happy with this, they too now have their focus on us. I smirk at this and think: "You better watch, you obnoxious duo of nitwits. Watch and keep memorized that the time where you were able to walk all over an orphaned boy is over and done with." Then Roxas, Axel and Isa take their positions and I take mine. I know that Xion is with Kairi, Sora and Riku and this gives me mixed feelings.
On one hand I do think that Xion is the best option for Kairi to show off her skills against, on the other I always love training and exercising and having fun with one of my best and closest friends. Yet I don't let this distract me and summon my Keyblade and let it hang over my shoulder like I always do. Roxas summons Oathkeeper and Oblivion, Isa summons his Keyblade and Axel grins. Instantly the three of us know what he's planning and we share a smirk with each other.
Axel raises his arms up high with his palms up to the sky and then spreads them wide. And instantly a ring of fire erupts around the four of us while at the same time his Chakrams appear in his hands. And while some screams are heard from the public, I only have eyes for the self-confident grin of joyful excitement that is on the face of my Nobody. And at the sight of his grin, I think: "Yeah, he has a heart; one that is his and his alone. Suck it, Xehanort."
Harry's POV
I have never seen anything like it. Axel, Roxas, Isa and Lea are fighting each other inside a ring of fire, the lot of them apparently not even bothered by the fact that the ground under them has changed from grass to blocks of burning rock and Axel and Lea even, from time to time, jumping into the fire and then appearing on the other side of the flames, as if they swallow the two of them up and are used as a form of transport or something.
Xion is with Kairi, Sora and Riku and while Riku and Sora are mostly focused on each other, same with Xion and Kairi, it's obvious that the four of them have been working together for years, at least since the time I left to return to Earth. And the flawless way that Aqua, Ventus and Terra work together, mix their skills and work off of each other's abilities and strengths is almost on a whole other level, regardless of the three of them using very different fighting styles.
Even my former mentors and Braig, while none of them have a Keyblade, are showing skills I have never seen them perform before in my life and are using the elements in ways I didn't even know was possible. All of it is a spectacle that has me sitting in my seat, my eyes wide and my mouth open and gaping as I can barely believe what I am seeing. I do know that my friends had turned to me at a moment, but they had obviously seen that I am as astonished as the rest of those sitting in the stands and watching this unfold.
"Enjoying the show, Harry?" The Master asks me about ten minutes into the demonstration and I stutter: "I – I knew that – that they had changed, but – but this –." I turn to him and suddenly concern overwhelms as I ask: "What happened, Master? What made them such battle experts? How did they get to this level of experience? I mean, when I left, I was the only one able to summon the Keyblade and – and now –."
But I don't have words to describe what I see before me and then suddenly Riku shouts: "Have it your way, Sora!" And every eye turns his way. He jumps away from the group and fists his hands at the height of his hips as his form changes. Black lines run down his whole body, the lines turn red as they reach his hands, a heart symbol gets put on his chest along with blue lines that cover his chest and show off the muscles on his torso.
Blue gloves cover his hands; purple boots with black accents on the top and bottom envelop his feet. And finally a white skirt that seems to be made of hair or something appears, held up by three belts, one on his waist and two that cross each other over the front of his hips. "Yeah, that's more like it. Hit me with your best shot, Riku!" Sora shouts excitedly, while I notice that a few of the girls in the audience are starting to stare at Riku with strange looks on their faces.
Riku smirks and says: "You asked for it." And the next moment he's gone. My eyes widen and yet Sora seems to expect this as he raises his Keyblade in a defensive motion. And just in time too as Riku is suddenly right in front of him, the boy floating just above the ground and with his own Keyblade pushing against Sora's. "Okay, my turn." Sora yells as he pushes Riku off of him. The young adult jumps back and puts his hand on his heart as he says:
"Give me strength." To my shock he gets surrounded by fire just like Axel, Roxas, Isa and Lea, but when the fire dies out, my shock increases as he is suddenly on top of a huge lion with a fiery mane and eyes lit up with fiery power. The lion jumps around at Riku at Sora's command and leaves a small trail of fire at every point he lands. This fire even gets heated up and turned into another circle of flames every time Sora encourages the lion to roar loudly.
"What!? But that's Simba! We saw Sora summon him back during our first class and he looked totally different! How is this possible? What happened? What changed?" Ron exclaims in surprise and I vaguely remember them telling me about this. The Master answers him and says: "Sora has a large amount of friends that he can summon from their worlds to where he is. And while summoning is mostly used for combat, there are indeed times where he can summon them just for fun.
But, when it comes down to it, Sora summoning his friends will aid him in battle in various ways. As you saw with young Bambi, the act of summoning allows them certain powers or abilities to aid Sora in combat." I hear Percy scoff and he snarls: "Sounds like an unfair advantage to me." But while I notice that Neville is holding Ron's arm in an effort to hold him back, the Master instantly retorts: "If you look closely, young man, you will see that each of my friends has an, as you call it, unfair advantage over the others."
Percy scowls at him, but I just smirk as that really is becoming more and more apparent the longer the demonstration takes and I take another look around. The apprentices of Master Ansem have now also divided themselves amongst each other. Braig and Dilan have taken on Even and Ienzo is fighting against Aeleus. Terra, Aqua and Ven are still going off against each other and Kairi and Xion seem to be evenly matched, even if Kairi seems better at breaking through when Xion tries to defend.
Even Axel, Roxas, Isa and Lea have separated with Roxas taking on Axel and Lea going up against Isa. And while it would normally pain me to see my friends fighting, their skill and the grins on their faces just makes me enjoy the sense of enjoyment and fun that the two of them are obviously feeling. And the same can obviously be said for everyone else as well. Or almost everyone as I suddenly spot Umbridge in her seat when Braig jumps away from Even's ice.
The woman is looking furious, her whole face red and her eyes staring at each of the fighters one at a time. And even though we are on opposite sides of the field, I can almost feel the furious hatred and disgust that her gaze conveys. It makes me shiver and I feel the urge to warn my friends about this. Yet at the same time the fact that she is mostly glaring at Lea and Isa angers me intensely as I'm sure that's because she knows that I am closest to them.
"Hey, I just realized something. Where are Demyx and Naminé?" Hermione asks and this question distracts me from the terrifying yet also infuriating sight on the other side of the pitch. I turn to the Master, who smiles and says: "Naminé is not a fighter. She is merely along to help others with their potential mental issues. And Demyx, while able to fight when it comes down to it, just does not have the drive to motivate himself to do so unless necessary.
However, he was the one to come up with the idea of the two week teacher test.""That still doesn't explain their absence." Percy snaps, but the Master remains calm and he says: "They are with the teachers who chose to remain in the castle. After all, there were a few students who chose to do their homework or do something else instead of coming to the Demonstration. And the teachers did not feel like leaving them in the castle unsupervised, so Naminé and Demyx volunteered to help them keep the stragglers entertained."
I notice my friends looking at me, but I shake my head. "Don't look at me. I never met Demyx before I came back." I mutter and then my eyes widen. This instantly makes the others turn back to the action. And just in time too as Riku calls out to Terra: "Consume the Darkness, return it to Light. It's your Darkness, Terra. You control it, remember that." And while Terra is obviously the older of the two, he also doesn't have any trouble taking advice from his younger friend.
He smirks and nods before fisting the hand that has small wisps of dark energy flowing around it. The Dark energy seems to be absorbed into his skin as he fists it and he says: "Right, thanks Riku." I notice that Ventus and Aqua are also smirking and Ventus even swings his Keyblade as he says: "Alright, now things are getting interesting." And Aqua shocks a lot of us as she says: "I was wondering how long our warm-up was going to take."
"That was the warm-up?" I hear someone sitting nearby ask astonished and I can only imagine what the rest of the Demonstration is going to bring. And the answer that I get over the next 20 minutes doesn't disappoint. Sora summons at least three other beings to help him, an elephant named Dumbo, a fairy named Tinker Bell and a weird blue cat and/or dog like creature that jumps up and down and seems to grow a bit larger with each jump.
The fairy seems to be the only summons that doesn't leave after a while and it even seems to keep Sora going on and on, even when Riku manages to land a harsh strike against him. And Riku himself also uses incredible powers as he launches balls of dark energy, turns into black and white lights when he seems to take a sprint towards Sora and blocks some of his attacks by creating a wall of black and white blocks of light.
Kairi and Xion are no less impressive as they are going at it with everything they have and while they sometimes use elemental attacks against each other, the two seem to mostly rely on their physical strength, stamina and agility to move around the field and strike at each other or to block the strikes of the other when needed. Kairi still seems to have the upper hand when it comes to breaking Xion's defense, but Xion appears to be the stronger of the two in physical strength.
Dilan and Braig have now teamed up against Even, but while some might consider this unfair due to Even's weapon being more defense-based, the scientist is very obviously proving everyone who would consider this wrong. He casts a whole arrange of ice spells that constantly keeps the other two on their toes and has them moving all the time, almost to the point that it limits how often they are able to strike at him.
Ienzo's fight against Aeleus is, again, a whole other story. While some might wonder why the slightly older lad has a huge tome in his hands, the magic that he is able to cast with this almost makes him on par with members of staff, I'm that amazed. One illusion spell after another leaves the pages, yet they are lifelike enough that they keep him safe from Aeleus and his huge axe-sword and his ability to wield the power of the earth itself. Yet at the same time Aeleus proves that he is durable enough to withstand Ienzo illusionary attacks against him.
Terra, Aqua and Ventus draw my attention to them almost every few minutes as their cooperation with each other is almost more amazing than the way they use different styles, techniques, abilities and powers in their battle. Aqua is incredibly light on her feet and cartwheels every time she dodges. Terra holds firm and uses his muscle and his Keyblade to ward off attacks. And Ventus seems almost able to read his friends perfectly, dodging their attacks with nearly flawless finesse.
Yet they're not the only ones who are utter eye-candy. The battle between Lea and Isa is similarly intense. Lea might have a Keyblade, but Isa is proving over and over that he and his Claymore are more than a match for the mighty blade. And while I haven't seen Isa use any kind of powers or abilities yet, his strength and durability are enough to go up against Lea even as he uses all kinds of elemental attacks, even attacks like Stop and Force.
I'm not entirely certain what Stop is supposed to do, though I do suspect that it might work the same as when the Master did it to me almost two weeks ago now. Yet the dome of energy that would have pressed down on Isa if he didn't dodge it each and every time is both a sight to behold and a bit concerning as I can almost feel some strange kind of draining magic come off of the power. Yet it's not just them that draw the attention.
Roxas and Axel are proving a lot with their battle. That they have years of experience. That they have known each other for what might as well be their entire lives. That they have a history together, both as a team and, for some strange reason, as enemies. And that, like Isa and Lea, they are evenly matched. And the fact that Roxas has two Keyblades while Axel has two Chakrams makes this all the more impressive. But one of Roxas' moves is the most impressive.
At one point Roxas attacks Axel in such a way he forces the man to jump up and glide into the air. He follows suit and the two fighters strike at each other a few times. But when Axel wants to strike at Roxas, Roxas deflects the attack and actually hits Axel hard enough he falls down and hits the ground harshly. To my amazement I don't hear any bones break and Axel still gets up afterward, but it's also obvious that this strike deals a lot of damage to him.
"How are they able to keep this up?" Fudge suddenly exclaims and he goes on: "They're using the elements; they are striking each other hard enough to break several bones! Some of those strikes should have cut limbs straight off! How is this even possible?" And while a few people look grossed out at the idea, Master Yen Sid calmly answers: "The human body, when allowed to prosper, can handle more than you seem to believe, Minister.
Not to mention that magic can go a long way into increasing one's natural durability and physical strength." This answer seems to appease a lot of those seated around the bowler-hat wearing man, but then Percy does it. "There is no way those freaks are human. They're abominations, nothing more, nothing less." And instantly the whole fight seizes, everyone in the arena stops and almost everyone who has been at Hogwarts these past two weeks seems to hold their breath.
Ooooooooooooh boy!
Percy, you are a DOLT! Who insults a person's friends when they are that close? Who is stupid enough to do such a thing? Okay, Malfoy does it all the time in canon, but he always has Snape backing him up. Both Fudge and Percy have been proven that trying to fight the Master is a bad idea due to how smart he is and how he covers his bases when he argues with them. So why would he antagonize the man like that?
Well, next chapter is going to prove just how bad of an idea that is. And while I don't plan anything bad to happen to Percy – this isn't going to be like the Percy in A Soul's Future, I assure you – it's also going to give Harry a bit of a time to shine and going to prove to both Fudge and Percy that they have been hanging with the wrong crowd. Oh, and Umbridge is going to get involved and get a bit of her due before she gets taken away to her trial and punishment.
Have fun,
Venquine1990
