The next morning Callie woke up naked in an empty bed and then her nose smelt coffee from downstairs.
She slipped on some sweat pants and a vest top before heading downstairs, taking in the surroundings that she hadn't been allowed to see last night as Arizona had pulled her upstairs.
"Morning babe" Arizona beamed as she heard Callie enter the kitchen "you hungry?"
Callie looked concerned as Arizona spun round from the stove waving a spatula "errrr you cook now?" Callie asked with concern
"Hell yeah I cook" Arizona smiled cockily "play your cards right Calliope and you may be lucky enough to experience my chilli crab linguine tonight" she said as she walked over and handed Callie a mug of coffee and gave her a quick peck on her cheek before heading back to focus on the pancakes she was making.
"Wow that's an offer I can't miss...must make sure I'm on my best behaviour today"
Arizona shot a look over her shoulder "err I never said that Torres...you are only here for 48 hours...I want you at your naughtiest OK?" She flashed Callie a knowing look before turning back to the stove.
"Yes ma'am" Callie joked pulling up a stool at at breakfast bar.
"So today I thought we'd just chill and maybe look at some holiday ideas and stay in tonight"
"Sounds perfect" Callie beamed back
"Tomorrow we're hanging out with the gang...I figured after I had you to myself for 24 hours I would be willing to share you for a little while" the blonde laughed "but only dinner...I"m too selfish to share you for the whole day!"
"Arizona...I like my friends...but trust me...you are the reason why I am here and so if we spend every single minute of every day I'm here in this house together then I'm 100% ok with that!"
Arizona's dimples popped as she handed Callie her pancakes and berries and planted a slow kiss on her lips.
Arizona was still buzzing from Callie's surprise arrival last night and the fact that they had an extra day. The last month had been hard at times, they were both super physical people and so it was hard to not be able touch Callie but they had the weekend.
After their breakfast Arizona tidied up the kitchen before they grabbed another coffee and went and sat outside on the cute little wooden swing in the back garden.
"It's a lovely house Arizona"
"Thanks...after we split I decided I need a project to focus on...you should have seen it when I got it. Total dump!"
"I guess you probably won't want to move after spending so much time building this place".
Arizona took Callie's coffee cup and put it the ground with her own and took the brunette's hands in her.
"I'm not going to lie, I put a lot of work into this house, but it's just a house. I'll go wherever I need to if that means being with you all the time".
Calliope pulled the blonde into her arms "I love you."
Arizona put her lips on Callie's and whispered "I love you too. I can't believe we have this second chance."
"Me neither..." Callie said in between kisses
As much as she wanted to fuck Callie again, they needed to talk about stuff as well. Pulling back from Callie's lips she attempted to regain some control "Sooooo I had an idea for a holiday.." Arizona said excitedly as she reached down for their coffee mugs.
"Oh yeah?" Callie asked with interest
"Ok so hear me out" Arizona started sharing her plan "so in two months time there's a Fetal surgery conference in London, and after weeks of nagging, Bailey agreed I can go...so I was thinking that maybe we could do a three week trip in Europe - London, Spain Italy...maybe Greece"
"That sound amazing" Callie said enthusiastically. "I mean I know how much you love Spain"
"I LOOVE Spain" Arizona nodded "but I really wanna go to Rome and Florence...oh my god...have you seen how pretty it looks."
Callie smiled as she saw how excited the blonde was at the thought of visiting Europe.
"Can you imagine...the two of us together for three weeks...amazing food, wine, hotels"
Callie laughed "I'm sold...where do I sign?"
"Really?"
"Really...I mean what isn't there to like about that plan?"
"You sure you wouldn't just prefer something a bit easier like Mexico or the Bahamas?"
"Arizona...one of the benefits of not having children is being able to go wherever we like and I say we make it our mission to go to all the places we've always dreamed of going...I can't wait to explore places with you.."
"OK so Europe it is.." Arizona conformed "where else would you like to go?"
Callie thought about it for a while before she responded "Argentina...the wine, the food, the scenery...the tango!" She raised an eyebrow as she mentioned the sexy national dance.
"Ohhh good choice... South America next then as I'd love to go to Chile."
"Done. Although can I add one thing to the Europe trip?"
"Sure"
"Eurostar from London to Paris for one night. I think it's super cool that you can get on a train and go under the sea and end up in a completely different country in 90 minutes".
"OMG" Arizona responded in total agreement "can we get fresh croissants and eat them beside the Sein?"
"I think we can do that" Callie smiled planting a slow kiss on the blondes lip.

They spent the afternoon on their laptops researching hotels and all the things they wanted to do on their trip. Callie had called her chief in Miami and got approval for the time away and so within a couple of hours they had everything booked. They were both giddy with excitement.
Arizona suggested she flew to Miami and they started their trip there adding that she could maybe meet Callie's father again.
Arizona saw the sadness flood over Callie at the suggestion "oh Callie...what's wrong...tell me what's been going on..."
"Yeah well things aren't so great at the moment...I think its's probably best if you stay away from Miami" Callie tried to change the subject "Do you umm...do you fancy a glass of wine? I feel like a glass of wine...shall I open a bottle?"
Arizona was concerned that Callie was hiding things from her "errr sure...I've some in the fridge..." Arizona walked over to the kitchen and grabbed the bottle and two glasses before walking back over to Callie who was at the dining table.
"Calliope...you are not alone anymore OK?" She poured a glass of wine and watched as Callie took a quick gulp.
"You don't have to go through things on your own anymore...I mean I know I'm not physically there...but you can talk to me...I want you to talk to me..."
Callie smiled at Arizona and nodded "OK. I'm...I'm sorry..." she was still getting used to having someone who cares about her again, about being able to ask for help is she needed it.
Callie placed a hand on Arizona's cheek "I didn't mean to cut you out...I'm just...well I went through a lot and I got used to dealing with things on my own...and I think I'm still adjusting to not being that person anymore if that makes sense?"
Arizona nodded - "that makes perfect sense Callie, and I don't want to put any extra pressure on you...but I'm here for you OK? "
Callie nodded and took another sip of her wine "My dad hates me for splitting up from Joe...he doesn't understand that I was miserable, that it wasn't fair on Joe...he was so happy that I was with a guy and he treated Joe like he was a son...I...I know they are still in touch.."
Arizona reached out and took Callie hand in hers "does your dad know about us?"
Callie nodded "yeah I didn't want to have any secrets, but it didn't go down well...he said some pretty mean things"
Arizona felt a flurry of emotions form inside her. Sadness that Callie had been going through this but also anger at her father. They had only met a couple of times and Arizona had thought that he had accepted the fact that Callie liked girls as well as boys, but clearly not.
Callie let out a big sigh "my dad told Joe and now he is saying I committed adultery in the divorce proceedings"
"Oh Callie I'm so sorry...
"It's OK...I don't care about the divorce, I know I hurt Joe and I know he wants to hurt me back, but I...I just don't think it's wise for you to come to Miami right now."
Arizona smiled softly "OK Callie...I understand...but you haven't done anything wrong...you never set out to hurt Joe on purpose...you deserve to be happy and to be able to be honest about who you are with...as much as I want to go there and give your dad a piece of my mind...I get that now isn't maybe the right time."
Callie smiled back - she loved that Arizona was prepared to take on her father, she was as she said herself 'a good man in a storm'.
"Thank you...thank you for saying that..." Callie said as tears started to form in her eyes. She hadn't realised how much she had missed having someone have her back. She had spent the last few years on autopilot, just dealing with things as and when they came up, just doing what needed to be done to get through...but now...now she had Arizona...and that felt so good.
She pulled Arizona into a soft kiss which quickly turned into a passionate one. Their tongues dancing with each other, groans escaping from their mouths as their bodies reacted to the heat forming inside them.
Arizona broke away and Callie saw the desire in her big blue eyes "I love you Calliope Torres and I will do everything within my power to make you happy"
Callie's brown eyes displayed the same desire "I love you too...and you know what would make me happy right now..." she leant in and whispered something into Arizona's ear before sliding off her chair and dropping to her knees so her face was in front of Arizona's hips, smiling as the blonde closed her eyes, tipped her head back and groaned in anticipation.
So given that most of us have been stuck at home for the past 3 months in lockdown I thought it might be fun to do some travelling with our favourite doctors...remember when Arizona said that the thought of Callie in a bikini with a sangria melted her? Hmmm anyway, next stop my home town London.
