Sango and Sesshomaru returned before Kagome and InuYasha. The other couple had offered to pick up the cake so that they could have some time alone and they weren't in the business of wasting a single moment.

Sesshomaru lifted the woman from the ground, holding her as close as he could get her while she set perfect, loving kisses along his throat. The prickle of her new fangs against his skin made him ache with need.

Father had warned him that the fangs of his lover would be the highlight of the mating ritual, but he hadn't believed him until last night.

He carried her into their bedroom and kicked the door closed behind him. She hopped off of him, dragging her hand through the buttons, smiling evilly when they rained around them. He watched her carefully as she ran her hands along his chest, trying to think of what to do now. Everything was moving incredibly fast and he wanted nothing more for it to slow.

She slid his shirt from his shoulders, pulling him down towards her. Their kiss was electrifying. His skin felt like lightning was running along it and he found himself gasping when her hand slid into his pants.

His inexperience was making the rubber band inside of his groin pull back far too quickly. He could feel the wet droplets of his arousal spilling over the edge and he had to pull back.

Sango first.

She yielded beneath his affections, throwing her head back as he pulled her dress down to the crooks of her arms. He breathed a sigh of appreciation as both perfect breasts stared back at him. Her nipples were as pink as her lips and he found himself wanting to kiss every part of her.

His fingers slid past her underwear, slipping as they gently fiddled with the hidden bud.

The moment his mouth was on her nipple she began to squirm. He hardened even further at her whimpering and he wanted to be closer, to say he'd tasted every bit of her.

"Lay on your back."

His voice was near a growl and she complied readily. Experimentally, he flicked his pointed tongue along the slit.

"Do that again." Her voice was breathy and he complied. He slid his fingers within her, tickling her as he swirled his tongue around her puckered bean, "don't stop." Her preening spurred him forward and when she clamped her legs around his head, his name spilling from her lips like a prayer, he knew he couldn't wait a moment more.

He fumbled with his pants, holding his breath when her hands batted his away. Her hands cupped his balls, squeezing gently as she dragged her tongue along the length of his member.

Her mouth was warm and her lips soft against his sensitive skin, but he had one thing on his mind so he lifted her off of the bed and settled her on his lap.

"Are you sure?" Her eyes searched his, love and caution painting her expression.

"Very. I love you Sango."

He positioned himself at her entrance, "I love you too, Mar-ahh." He dragged her downwards, filling her in one go. They clicked together like two perfect pieces of a puzzle.

She brought his hand to her breast, whimpering for him to take the other in his mouth. His hand guided her hips, pulling her closer and closer to her second happy ending. His grip on her tightened as her muscles clamped around him. She buried her fangs in his neck, moaning into his skin as he did the same to her, shuddering as he poured his load into her.

Shivering and tingly, Sango dragged Sesshomaru onto his side, "I didn't know it would be like that." His voice was a trembling whisper and his eyes looked sleepy.

"Now I bet you regret waiting so long."

He placed a kiss on her nose before hoisting himself up, "the only thing I regret is not getting to you sooner."

XxXxXxXxXx

Sango held a flute of Prosecco in the air, smiling widely as Kagome stood on the couch, shouting her excitement for the elder girl.

"To Sango and Sesshomaru!" She staggered a bit, clinking her glass with anyone she could find. InuYasha watched her drop beside him, wrapping his arm around her when she snuggled closer to him.

Rin was sitting beside Sango with her own flute, "I told you you'd be my mom sooner than later." She'd been doing remarkably well with her demon slayer training, yet Sango had been unwilling to formally commit her to the ranks.

"It's almost terrifying that you were so right."

"Of course I was. I was the one who convinced him to wait this long to pop the question."

Sesshomaru scowled at the girl, but Rin continued as if he weren't there, "he was prepared to propose the moment you started officially dating. I remember how he said that you'd be his wife so there was no point in delaying the inevitable and-,"

"Rin," Sesshomaru poured more Prosecco into the girl's glass and shooed her away, "no more."

"One more question," she stood before the two of them, fidgeting as she faced them, "since Lord Sesshomaru has agreed to be my dad and you're now, like, officially going to be married," she trailed off, staring at the glittering diamond on the demon slayer's hand, "I know you'll probably start a family of your own, like, your own family. A real family. But-," why was it so hard to ask.

"You'd be a great older sister in any family we create and a perfect daughter. Surely you didn't think we'd cast you aside once we had another child, did you?"

Rin smiled at Sango, nervousness gone, "it was a silly thought to have. I should have known better."

Shippo kissed her cheek, "you should have. I told you that your old dog of a dad would never push you aside."

Sesshomaru scowled at the fox, sending him scampering away, enthusing about cake or something else.

"So you wanted to marry me four months again?" She wiggled her eyebrows at him.

He snorted into his glass, "don't be stupid. I've wanted to marry you since the first time I saw you smile. It's been, literally, years that I've waited for this day."

Kanna joined them in that moment, short wavy hair looking frizzy and out of place. Sango rose to help her carry in whatever she was holding, only for the older woman to drop the bags and rush to her.

"Dear, what happened to your neck?"

There was a large purpling bruise where her shoulders met her neck. In the midst of the throbbing, storm of a bruise, there were two puncture marks just far enough apart to be fangs.

Oh dear.

"Never mind."

Kagome and InuYasha were howling with laughter, spilling Prosecco as they fell over each other. All the while Sango's face was going as red as candied cherries and Sesshomaru looked to be feigning indifference.

But she had bigger fish to fry. Her earlier search of the suite had been a bust. Despite her instructions to leave the sword in the room, there had been no sword when she arrived. She'd searched high and low, under mattresses, behind the clothes in the closet, under the bathroom sink…

Yet, there was nothing. She was ready to scold him for disobeying and wearing his sword to the charity event when she realized that he wasn't wearing Bakusaiga on his hip.

Sango wore two daggers, but that was neither here nor there.

She toyed with the idea of coming clean. Her secret was growing too big to contain and their lives were at stake.

But this was an engagement party. She couldn't ruin it with tales of her selfishness.

She swore to tell them tomorrow, when their faces weren't so full of glee.

The explosion took off the entire face of the hotel.

She glanced around, panicked as the candied cherries that she held smashed across the floor. Sango was standing before her, arm outstretched in a protective manner.

"Oi! Do you have a death wish?"

InuYasha had shoved Kagome towards their room, standing between the intruder and the children that scurried into the room with Kagome.

"Hand over the Bakusaiga and I will spare you." The man floating just outside the window radiated raw power. Sango recognized the familiar waves of both Sesshomaru and InuYasha's energy.

"You and InuYasha need to run." Sango stepped forward Koibito held before her, "leave this to me." The way her voice darkened and her eyes flared to life gave Kanna chills.

"Like hell, we're going to leave you." InuYasha waved his sword before the threat and power flowed without warning or restraint towards the threat.

Sesshomaru had never agreed with his brother, but today seemed to be an extraordinary day, "we don't need protecting." He raised his sword, masking his awe when the man before them sauntered into the hotel looking truly bored.

"I think you'd be best listening to the girl." His lips curled in a cocky smirk, his hand was outstretched, "now this is your last chance, hand me the Bakusaiga. Or I'll cut off your hand when I take it."

"Get away from him."

Kanna watched as the marks on Sango's cheeks darkened to match those on Sesshomaru's own face.

"Lover's Cyclone!" Sango began to spin, twirling with otherworldly grace. The power of the cyclones sent him flipping backwards, landing in the wall of a nearby building.

The hotel rumbled beneath them. He intended to kill the inhabitants and Kanna had to speak up now, "give him the sword. He'll kill everyone here if you don't."

Sesshomaru scoffed at her, "great plan Mrs. Higurashi. I'll give him a powerful demon sword so he can kill the inhabitants of the hotel and then countless others."

But she didn't care about the countless others. She cared about getting her family out of there in one piece. She cared about the man who braided his hair before manual labor. She cared about the woman who had jumped to protect her without a second thought.

"Just give him the sword!"

He walked away from her, ready to strike the moment their assailant got close. Mrs. Higurashi was being nonsensical and he didn't have time for stupid conversations.

"I gave you the chance, don't say I didn't warn you!"

The same energy that blew off the side of the building now slammed Sango backwards. She hit the wall with too much force. The smell of her blood filled the air and InuYasha cried out to her. No answer.

"Watch over her." His tone left Mrs. Higurashi with no room to deny him. She crouched on the floor beside the girl, searching for the wound.

"Don't touch my mate."

He swung his sword, catching his opponent across the torso. The skin began to crumble, bits of his body spilled along the ground, but then the rot simply stopped. The unstoppable infection had been quelled.

"Oh, are you angry dear Sesshomaru? Pity."

Searing pain made Sesshomaru's mind go blank. The same impossible, incomprehensible feeling surged through his veins.

Then it was gone. InuYasha lay in a heap, silver hair now as black as Kagome's. Sesshomaru couldn't move, couldn't see straight even. The hand blurred before his very face. His claws were gone.

"You will not touch them again." Kagome swung her sickle about her head like a lasso, glowing like the sacred jewel itself. The sharp end landed in his chest, causing him to jerk back. He dragged her by her weapon, content to let her fall to her death.

Sesshomaru commanded his muscles to obey him, to rise, but it was as if he was disconnected from his body. Like he was dead.

Sango's legs came into view. A fractured skull wouldn't stop her, not when her friends were in such danger.

"Koibito Swing!" She brought her sword down into his shoulder, leaving space for Kagome's purified sickle.

His body crumbled a bit more and some of the feeling came back to Sesshomaru's hands. His vision stopped swimming.

He hoisted himself upwards. This demon was stealing his and InuYasha's energy. Sango had been right, they'd only put Sango and Kagome in more danger by being bull headed.

Time seemed to slow as Sango went for another swing, ready to hack him to pieces. They were powerless as blinding white light exploded around them. Deafening noise filled the room, the building shuddered and then

Nothing.

A.N./ we don't get to be happy in this household. Lol also! I'm terrible at writing lemons so please forgive me.
