Bakura get's payback and Seto and Flynn have a moment.

Probably more smut, I'm going to be honest, this story really should have an explicit label, I was in a mood.

Enjoy.

If there was something to be appreciated about Flynn, was that she wasn't clingy. There had been women, even a few men, that had blown up the Billionaire's phone after a hookup, or in the early stages of the relationship. Needless to say, that had gotten on the brunet's nerves quickly. He was busy. Most mornings he woke up to a day planned months in advance.

That's not to say he didn't have time to reply to a text or two, but if he had to sift through a novel and a half just to get to his emails, that was a problem.

Flynn wasn't like that though. Their conversation never seemed timed or pressured for response right away. She was busy too, and Kaiba liked that. She was successful, and had her own life and agenda to take care of. Today she'd sent him a picture of the tented backyard with a caption 'Foreman said it will be finished by tonight, think I'll give it a go. You free?'

The Executive skimmed through his schedule. It was Friday, he didn't have plans to come into the office tomorrow, though he did want to go over a few things this weekend at home. Spending an evening with his girlfriend in her pool sounded like a fantastic idea, but there was one key question.

Dragon: Who's coming?

Flynn: That's the fun part. Dad is taking Tito out to a film, talk has been hinting that Papa Mike will be staying over to make breakfast in the morning…

Kaiba smirked.

Dragon: What should I bring?

Kaiba arrived just after 8 with an overnight bag holding spare clothes if he decided to stay. He knocked, but she didn't answer. He tried the knob and stepped in. The security system was one of the first things installed, and she'd given him a code registered to him. That had been remarkably flattering, even after she'd told him it was a simple matter of disabling the profile if she didn't want him in. She trusted him. At least to this degree. He shut the door and looked around.

"Koibito?" The Kitchen was dark, and the upstairs quiet. He sat his bag by the stairs and headed for the study. The door was shut, but there was a light on under it, the sound of Flynn speaking coming from the other side. The study doors were on a roller, sliding into the wall on either side. One door was locked into place, but the other gave under his fingers.

Flynn was a vest and a pair of dark pants that would almost pass for something dressy, if Seto didn't know better. She had a projector pointed to the wall behind her, with a clicker in her hand with a headset with a mic. She had a laptop on the desk with a stream going.

"Archaeological stratigraphy reveals the growing scale of an institution and the diachronic relationship of Great to Little Traditions.

Egypt's Great Tradition of the second and first millennia is an exclusive, formalized version of third-millennium Little Traditions and, in this form, spread across social groups outside of your core elite. Now remember Elite culture, for the focus of cross-cultural comparison, needs to be seen as part of this continued up- and down-scaling of ideas and practices through time." Flynn clicked the remote and a new slide popped up. Her eyes flicked up to find the brunet leaning casually in the doorway watching, his arms crossed and a smile on his lips. He'd wait.

"So! Continuing on this. Chronological change is pivotal when approaching the implicit dimensions of Egyptian culture. The growing number of individual prayers to deities after the third millennium and the display on stones of individuals adoring a deity, especially in the later second millennium, is often seen as a reflection of 'personal piety.' Oh, I gave extra to the Gods, look at me, I will be favored."

She clicked up a picture of the stones in question, with sources on either side.

"What we've come to understand is people had developed a closer relationship to the gods in the later second millennium than in earlier periods. But here's the thing, archaeology tells a different story. What we're seeing there, is that it's not so much about wealth, it's that People are gradually excluded from access to the gods. The gods were for the Elite. So what do we have then? Suddenly, you have a softer tone among the people. Suddenly angering the Gods… didn't seem like such a big deal."

A papyrus scroll came up on the screen, and the blue eyed man was surprised by a number of things.

1, that a piece of paper could survive long enough to be photographed and scanned

2, that he could read it.

"A change of media in which Egyptian society communicates suggests that the relationship with deities became more controversial for people. Real people start to materialize in objects, images, or writing what matters to them, in this case the dissociated relationship with gods. Leaving breaks in the diachronic record indicate that something changed its status toward explicit knowledge. The people felt disconnected from the Gods. Leaving it for the royals and their tombs." Flynn sighed.

"Goodness me! I've gone on too long, thank you everyone. I'm afraid I've run out of time for questions. However, you'll each receive a copy of my slides in an email, and you're free to respond with any questions or comments you may have, I'll be happy to answer them."

"Thank you Doctor Howard, we appreciate you taking the time to speak." Spoke a man from the computer screen.

"Yes of course, no problem. Cheers." She shut the lid of the laptop and winced dramatically at the brunet. "So sorry love. I totally forgot about that damn lecture. 6:30 my phone goes off with a reminder and I'm like 'Bollocks'. Thank god I had this damn thing already made, that've gone tits up." She pulled the mic from around her ear and tossed it to the desk with the clicker.

"Who was it for?"

"Anthropology class for University of Sacramento. They paid me in advance too, that could have been horrible."

Kaiba chuckled and curled his finger in summons. She sashayed over, a smirk on her lips. "Yes?"

"Is there anything else on your agenda, Doctor?" His fingers caught the button on her vest and neatly dislodged it.

"No… and this time I checked." She giggled and he tugged on the vest to draw her in for a kiss.

"I missed you." He told her.

"You saw me three days ago." She told him with a humored smile.

"And yet what a relief it is to see you all the same." She hummed and embraced him. Warmth seemed to seep into him from her embrace before it settled in his chest.

"I missed you too. I must like you." She pulled back and smiled at him. "So. I haven't seen the yard yet."

Seto's brow rose. "Not even a peek?"

"I thought about it, but you went to the trouble of making sure you footed the bill for a cover. Seems to me you had something in mind." She grinned. "I thought you might want to show it to me personally."

Happiness welled in the brunet's stomach. She was right. He kissed her forehead. "Aren't we clever?" He asked her.

"Only the best for you, love. Come on, I'm dying to see. Let's get changed."

(~~~~~~~~~~~~)

"What do you think, darling?" She was in a flowy top that draped around her hips, underneath were a pair of boyshorts that framed her backside perfectly. Though he would be the first to admit his bias in such a matter. The front cupped her breasts and offered a fine peek at them before the straps curled over to criss -cross over her back. Her legs stretched out under her, smooth and soft.

"What do you call it? Tasty?"

She grinned. "Dishy."

"I like mine better." He replied.

She chuckled and closed the gap, running her finger up his toned stomach, a pleased smirk on her face. "I dunno… I could eat you up in either case. You are just a treat to look at."

Kaiba chuckled. He worked hard to ensure he stayed fit. Exercise was a part of what kept his body moving, along with eating, and resting. It was nice to see he wasn't the only one to benefit.

"That kind of talk we'll never get down there." She gave a look of relent.

"Yes, alright. I suppose I have all night to stare at you… or did I read the bag wrong?" Her brow lifted and he smirked.

"I was undecided. Perhaps I could be persuaded to stay, if conditions were right."

"Well, I'd best be extra charming to keep you, shall I?" Her hand came out and he smiled as he took it.

"You're off to a great start."

Together they trotted down the stairs towards the back door, flipping on the lights to the patio. A deck had been added and now spread all the way across where the pool had been.

"Well what have you done to the sodding thing? I was just warming up to the idea." Said the woman with a pout and her hands on her hips.

Seto chuckled and set down his towel in one of the patio chairs around a table with a remote on it.

"That's your cover."

"What, the deck?" She asked, tossing her things down with his before taking a curious step out onto the wood.

"Correct. You wanted to make sure it would be safe enough for Tito to be back here without worrying about him falling in. As you can see, you can walk on this, it's not raised, this was the best the market had to offer." Said the Executive.

Flynn gave him a beaming smile. "Seto, that's wonderful. I love it! Show me how it works." He brought her back over to show her the remote.

"This controls the deck, and the lights. I had the pool updated to run with the rest of the house on the KC Link. Through that you should be able to check the stats of the pool itself, ensure it's balanced or when it's due for maintenance or ready to be shut for the season. You can also control the temperature now that it's covered." She clicked the remote and the lights around the edge of the pool lit up before the deck slowly began to sink in.

"Oh! I've seen these! By the Queen's Frilly Knickers, that's clever I…" Her brows pinned and her face suddenly fell.

Kaiba's eyes snapped out and felt a stone sink in his stomach. As programmed, the deck was sinking to the bottom of the pool, and allowing it to refill around it. The problem came from the water. It had been treated and tended, it should have been clear blue. Instead it was a sharp red, the color of blood.

As the deck stilled, they stared at the pool.

"There's no way the contractors left it this way." Said the brunet.

"No… No, I don't suspect they did." She said quietly. There was another long moment before she picked up her phone and clicked through a few apps before settling on one.

"KC Link says the pool doesn't see it. Must be dye."

She stepped forward and dipped her hand in. Whatever it was clung to her finger. She took a sniff, before propping the digit in her mouth. "Jello. Well isn't that clever?" She said before she sighed and stood.

Kaiba was simmering. It didn't need to be said. They both knew who was responsible for this. "When did the contractors leave?"

"Just after 4." She replied. The brunet got into the security system and scrolled back the footage on his phone.

The contractors finished the work, and had covered the pool and left. Shortly after a white haired figure is seen wandering back with a paper bag tucked under one arm. He wandered the yard a bit before inspecting the deck and trying to kick it loose. When that was unsuccessful, he spied the maintenance hatch for the filter. Pulling it off, he had opened the bag and poured several boxes of something inside, the Jello obviously.

"Yes, my name is Doctor Howards, you guys did some work for me today, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to come back out." Blue eyes flicked up to see Flynn on the phone.

"Nothing, you guys did amazing. Truly, I've just seen it, it's lovely, but it seems I've been on the bad end of a prank, and my pool needs a bit of help now... Best guess is someone's put Jello in it." She paused.

"I know, that's so foolish. Didn't even get a chance to enjoy it. We'll handle it at that end, but in the meantime I'll need this cleaned up… Wonderful, you're a peach darling. I'll be here tomorrow, you just let yourselves in, hmm? Wonderful thank you so much." She hung up and looked over.

"They'll be back out tomorrow to give it a deep clean. He said he'll bring new filters for the pump."

"When is the gate scheduled to be put in?"

"Also tomorrow." She replied.

Kaiba nodded. It wouldn't stop Bakura from getting in if he really wanted to, but it would hinder his efforts.

"Ask for a new hatch for the pump. One with a lock."

"Is that how he did it?"

The brunet nodded again and she sighed as she closed the pool back up, the red of the water flowing around the deck in a rain of blood.

"Well… this went tits up… catch a movie? Order in?" She tossed down the remote with a cool expression. She was upset. He could tell. He was upset and it wasn't even his pool.

His hand came out in offering and she gave a half-hearted attempt to smile as she took it.

"How about I spend the next few hours making you forget about it?"

"That… checks out. Let's go."

(~~~~~~~~~~)

Seto was finding the embrace she brought him into after their mating was almost as satisfying as the coupling itself. He liked laying his head on her, and the feel of her arms around him. Nothing else mattered like this. Not her name, not his. He could just exist here with her and that was fine. She wanted nothing from him but his affection.

"You seem worn out, darling… was the week not kind?" She asked, stroking his hair in her fingers.

"I ended up more behind on my paperwork than I thought I would be after only a few days…" He sighed, deep and heavy, and wrapped an arm around her waist to press himself closer.

"I'm sorry love, I'd help if I could… for what it's worth, I was blessed to have you those first few days. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done. You're a lifesaver."

He'd do more if he could. Give her the world if she asked.

"What's the next goal? You have your house."

"I think I'll look into a car next. One of the perks of living so close to the Game Shop was that it was easy to walk into Downtown. Thinking about picking up an SUV, we rented that one, and I quite liked it. Of course I'll need to wait for my new passport. I still haven't found mine."

Seto frowned, but let it be. "I have cars available. If you need it."

"That's not required darling, I'll get my own."

"Just until you get your passport. I'll assume you've talked to the Embassy in Tokyo?" She nodded.

"They won't just send one. I'll have to go get it, which is an hour on the train. Just figured I'd settle the house first."

"So… take a car." He looked up to find her eyes in the dim light of the bedroom. "It'll make it easier. Don't look at it as charity. Just… a neighbor offering."

She gave him a humored smile and cupped his chin. "Alright… only because I couldn't possibly tell you no while you're looking at me that way."

"In what way?" He asked her with a rumble of amusement.

"Happy." She chuckled. "I get the sense you've been lacking in that department." He shifted up to tuck his head in her neck, taking in the scent of Vanilla that always seemed to cling to her.

"I wasn't… unhappy. It was just…"

"Bland?"

He nodded. "Everything felt gray. One day merging into the next. Then here you come, different and new, and it was like color returned."

She smiled, rubbing his bare back with her hand. "I must admit… I feel the same… Everything with Bakura and Tito and Ryou, it's all so chaotic… but you… well you're normal. Well, close to normal. Well-" He leaned his head up and smirked, she grinned, showing she was teasing.

"You're like a stone when everything is just so hectic. I look to you, and follow your lead. I fall in step with you so easy it's like breathing, it feels… natural." Her nose curled. "Does that make sense?" He smiled at her and nodded. She traced his lips with her thumb.

"I like it when you smile… makes you look… human." She teased.

He chuckled and manhandled her to his chest, causing her laughter to ring out. He embraced her tightly.

"Being with you almost makes me feel human."
