Chapter 23
Trevor waited patiently on the wall, eager to bring down this 'Blitzo' fellow. He had camouflaged himself against the wall with a blanket of silk. He had warned Alastor, Victor, and Charlie of the threat, but he didn't bother with Vaggie or the others, since it was a rather minor incident.
He peered out from between the strands of silk. The imp known as Blitzo had arrived, carrying an Exterminator's spear behind his back. He was muttering under his breath. Trevor didn't bother listening in, as he soon had his chance.
He tore through the silk and landed in front of Blitzo, using his spider-limbs to hold himself off the ground. He held an unnerving smile on his face, similar to Alastor's.
"You must be Blitzo!" he greeted in a faux-cheerful voice. "Loona told me you would be coming!"
"The O is actually silent," Blitzo muttered under his breath.
"To you, perhaps!" Trevor replied. "But I pronounce words by how they're spelled! And as such, dear Blitzy, you are known as Blitzo!"
The Wendigo and the Radio Demon appeared at Trevor's sides. Despite his small frame, Trevor overshadowed them with his spider legs.
"We're here, bossman!" a feminine voice called out. Trevor looked up and saw two familiar imps come out of a rusted-old limo.
"Ah, look who it is!" Trevor greeted.
"What?!" Moxxie yelled. "You had us come here because you were trying to take out the one person we were not going to hunt?!"
"Blitz, normally I'm pretty accepting of your ideas," Millie said, "but this is too much."
Trevor, confused by what they said, crooked his head to the side and stared at them confusedly.
"You refused to hunt me down?" he asked.
"Well, you did spare our lives," Moxxie said.
"And gave us the time of our lives in the process," Millie added.
"Whoa, Moxxie," Blitzo said, "I didn't take you for one to share."
Moxxie almost lost his mind over this sentence, but he kept his cool as he responded.
"I didn't 'share' Millie with anyone," he replied angrily. "He injected Millie with an aphrodisiac under the impression that it was venom."
"To be honest, I'm a little taken aback by the idea that you decided to spare me," Trevor said.
"Millie was, too. But I explained it to her, and she understood."
"I'm a little disappointed in you, Moxxie," Blitzo said. "Family is supposed to take care of each other."
"Family?" Trevor asked with curiosity.
"Blitz is under the impression that we are a family," Millie explained.
"If that's so, then you are a very dysfunctional one," Victor stated.
"I couldn't hear a truer statement!" Alastor agreed.
Trevor was silent as he extended an appendage to look at Blitzo. The end of the appendage had a single eye that stared at Blitzo unblinkingly. Trevor saw every facet of Blitzo's existence through this eye, and saw what made him tick.
"Such a sad way to grow up," Trevor said. "Your father never valued you, and your mother was never there for you."
Blitzo gave him a confused look as the eye continued to peer into his past.
"I can also see that you are constantly bothered by the lord Stolas," Trevor noted. This statement gave him an idea.
"I have an idea. Why don't you and your 'family' stay with us? Loona has already expressed desire to stay with Darling, and Moxxie's decision to leave me be is quite touching, so why don't you all stay at the Hazbin Hotel?"
Blitzo's eyes went wide. "Really?!"
"What about our job?" Millie asked.
"Unfortunately, you will have to disband I.M.P." Alastor said. "But don't worry! Princess Charlotte is more than generous enough to provide for you while you stay with us!"
Blitzo considered the offer. Trevor's eye could see that he was thinking everything over.
"Well, the business was a bad idea from the start," he said finally. "I'm in! What about you guys?!"
Moxxie and Millie were less sure.
"I dunno," Millie said. "I kinda like what I do."
"Don't worry," Trevor assured. "As long as nothing from your street life comes to the Hotel, Charlie won't give a flying fuck."
"OK, that's fair," Moxxie said.
"But before we retire for the night," Trevor said, leaning down to Blitzo's level, "I would like your help in a little burglary I'm planning, and it involves a certain demon lord you know well."
Trevor returned to his room, where Vaggie was still laying in bed. He undressed and laid right next to her, wrapping his lean, yet strong arms around her.
"Everything OK?" she asked.
"Some assassins have been admitted into the Hotel," Trevor replied. "They won't try anything. Victor will make sure of it."
Vaggie was silent, but she nodded her head slightly.
"I thought you would still be asleep," Trevor said.
"It's... been too long since the last time I've slept alone."
Trevor understood, and held her tighter and snuggled up next to her.
"Well, I'll be sure not to break the streak."
