Time Period: The Present Reality

Scene: The Dining room breakfast time

Situation: A brief mother and son bonding time

Sarah: John Kyle Caleb Connor

John: Yes

Sarah: I just love saying your name

John: What do you remember most about me as a baby?

Sarah: You cried a lot when you were a baby

John: Is that all?

Sarah: We are eating breakfast. I know you don't want to discuss your birth.

John: Oh Yes. Please do spare me the bloody gruesome details.

Sarah: Why do you care so much about your infancy?

John: Cameron is longing to know more about her origins. Plus, Kacey has been teasing me about marriage and having babies.

Sarah: I am looking forward to the day when you will make me a grandma.

John: Only in your dreams

Sarah: Sure

Place: A conference room/a war room on the military base

Sarah (livid, she yells at John): I can't believe you did what you did

John: I don't understand you

Sarah: You put another soldier in harm's way. You have sacrificed innocent lives for a senseless war.

John: I am protecting our future. We are fighting in war against Skynet. This war that we are fighting together is not senseless.

Sarah: Why aren't you on the battlefield?

John: Would you prefer for me to die instead of them?

Sarah: You didn't answer my question

John (leaving the room): You didn't answer my question. Now I know the truth.

Sarah: JOHN!

Scene: An armory (a storage place for weapons)

Action: Cameron walks in on John cleaning various guns

Cameron: You don't normally visit the storage unit.

John: So what?

Cameron: Are you ok?

John: I am fine

Cameron: Why are you cleaning the weapons, specifically the guns?

John: The guns are dirty. I want them to be clean for the soldiers.

Cameron: I can clean the guns for you

John: No thanks

Cameron: Are the guns loaded?

John (lying): No

Cameron (walking out of the building): Bye John

John: Goodbye, Cam

(Cameron hears a gun go off. She checks on John again. John tells her that one of the guns went off on accident. Cameron tells Sarah, Kyle, and Derek about John's weird behavior. They remain in denial regarding John's depression until it is too late to help him. John's unexpected death (suicide) devastated and almost destroyed his family especially Sarah (Lena Headey). He was her heart after all).

Time Period: A Flashback shortly after John's birth

Action: Sarah hears John crying on the baby monitor. Sarah leaves her room to check on him. She catches Kyle (a ghost-a figment of her imagination) bonding with their newborn son. In reality, Sarah (Linda) has been dealing with memory loss (possibly dementia). Her memories of John have been fading in and out. She writes a letter to her deceased son).
