Erin made some calls and managed to get her in to a rehab facility, and her parents didn't have to know. She'd go during the day, on weekends and go home at night - so she could still go to school. Avery and Lottie's school had a day off today, so Erin left the girls to sleep in for a bit.

Avery woke up the next morning, light cracking through her door that was slightly open. Lottie was fast asleep next to her, dried mascara trails running down her face from when she was crying last night. Avery vaguely remembered waking up when Lottie got in to bed, but she was half asleep so the memory was foggy. Avery slipped out of bed and went in to the kitchen, where her Mom was sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee and reading something on her phone.

"Morning Momma." Avery said sitting down next to Erin, who kissed her forehead.

"Hey baby. Sleep okay?" Erin said.

"Mhm." Avery said. "Is Lottie okay? She was crying when she came to bed."

Erin didn't think that Lottie wanted Avery to know about what they talked about. "Oh nothing sweetie, she just needed to talk to me about something." Erin said, cooly, trying to change the subject. "Want some breakfast?"

Avery nodded and Erin got up to go find some food to make for Lottie and Avery. "Jay went in early, but I'm going to stay home for the rest of the morning, then go to the precinct - you guys are coming."

Avery rolled her eyes. "Mom do we have to, can't we go to the mall or something? Park? ANYTHING that's not the precinct." Avery groaned. Erin didn't think it was safe for Avery and Lottie to go round the mall alone together, due to the situation with Lottie's boyfriend.

"No baby, sorry. Precinct." Erin said firmly.

"Seriously Mom, ugh, why?" Avery said.

"Because I said so!" Erin snapped, making Avery flinch. Erin's eyes softened. "Sorry baby. But it's not safe."

Avery rolled her eyes and slurped her coffee. Lottie came traipsing out of Avery's room and in to the kitchen. "Morning...guys." Lottie said yawning and sitting down next to Avery.

"Why were you crying last night?" Avery said, getting straight to the point. The sudden question shocked both Erin and Lottie, Erin almost spat out her coffee in surprise.

"Nothing. It's fine Aves." Lottie said, looking at Erin, who raised her eyebrows.

"NO! Something is going on and I want to know." Avery snapped. "Please talk to me Lottie."

Lottie looked down and picked at her hangnails. "Just my boyfriend being a dickhead. Don't worry about it." Lottie said, rolling her eyes at Avery.

"You NEVER talk to me anymore." Avery yelled. "Please...we used to actually talk Lottie. You've been so distant lately."

"I'VE been distant?! What happened to you?! Avery you were gone for ages and you've come back different." Lottie snapped. "Before I even start about whats happening with me, I want to know what happened to you! Aves you can't just take that long away and then come back with no questions asked!"

Avery's eyes watered as the memories of the past month or so erupted. "Can't you just understand I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT?!" Avery yelled back.

"WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I DON'T WANT TALK ABOUT MY LIFE?!" Lottie yelled back, causing Avery to flinch. Lottie's eyes softened. "Hey...I'm sorry."

Avery shook her head. "No no It's okay..."

Avery looked over to her Mom, who gave her the 'tell her' look. They sat down on the sofa together, Avery in the middle of Lottie and Erin. "Tell her Aves." Erin said gently. "It'll help."

Avery sighed and then told Lottie what had happened with getting kidnapped by Charlie, then Erin getting shot and then getting flu. By the end of it, everyone was crying, Avery stared in to space looking numb, Lottie, covered her open mouth with her hand in shock and Erin had her arm around Avery, rubbing her shoulder comfortingly and trying to stem her own tears.

"Oh my god guys..." Lottie said, pulling Avery in to a hug. "I'm sorry for snapping." Lottie said as Avery hugged her back pressing her face in to her shoulder.

Avery pulled back and looked in to Lottie's tear filled eyes. "What's going on with you...tell me please." Avery said, her voice still wobbling.

Lottie explained what she'd told Erin the night before, Avery squeezed up next to her the entire time.

"...But your Mom is gonna help me." Lottie said, finishing her story. Erin nodded, and smiled softly.

"Damn right I am." Erin said
