Sam watched as his mother paced along the living room as he tried to read. Every pivot of her heel caused him to lose his place in the book.

"Pacing isn't going to make anything go faster," Sam told her.

"I know, but I need to do something. How long is this going to take?"

"I've read that it takes hours to give birth."

"I know but... It's a baby," Mary said, explaining everything.

"We'll be able to hear when it actually happens."

"Even though they're in the garage?"

"Angels in their true forms are... quite loud. It's much safer that we're here," Sam informed her.

Mary flung herself on the couch. "But isn't there something we can do?"

"We've already bought all of the stuff we needed."

Mary huffed, knowing that he was right. "Where's Bobby by the way? Shouldn't he also be here?"

"He said he had to do something. Probably didn't want to bust his eardrums out."

"But what if something goes wrong?" Mary asked worriedly.

"A bunch of angels will rain from the sky and be really confused and awkward about it," Sam shrugged. "They're quite powerful creatures on their own. Cas can take care of himself. He said there's nothing to worry about. Plus, he still has that protection charm Celine gave him."

"Maybe I should make food. They're probably going to be hungry afterward."

"It's probably best that you don't."

"I've gotten better," Mary pouted.

Sam was going to respond when a high pitched scream rang through the house. He quickly covered his ears and saw Mary do the same before closing his eyes. After what felt like hours, the sound finally receded.

"What was that?" Mary asked once the ringing stopped.

"That was Cas," Sam replied.

Mary jumped up and raced to the kitchen.

"Maybe we should let them spend time by themselves first."

Mary peeked back into the living room. "I know that. But I can see them when they come out."

Sam just shook his head and went back to reading. Now that the pacing had stopped, he could concentrate. A decent time later, Mary rushed back in, grabbing a book as she went to casually sit on the couch. Sam went to give her a confused looked when he heard the back door open. He sat up straighter so he could see his way into the kitchen as the couple walked out.

Dean had his arm wrapped around Castiel's shoulder with a sappy grin on his face. Cas looked as if he were going to pass out any second now, but looked more content than Sam had ever seen him before. There was a bundle of blue blankets in Cas' arms that we would stop staring at.

"Mom, you know we saw you, right?" Dean asked first.

"No you didn't," she immediately said. "Anyways, I want to see my grandchild."

Dean guided Cas to the couch, where Sam immediately gave up his seat for the angel. The angel opened up the blankets and revealed a pale head of dark brown hair suckling their thumb. Mary gently brushed her finger against the baby's nose, getting a scrunched up look, before settling back down, and going back to sleep.

"What's their name?" Sam asked softly.

"We decided on Emma Grace," Dean said softly, unable to keep his eyes of the child.

"So, Cas won, huh?" Sam teased.

"Wouldn't have it any other way."

"Everything's okay though?" Mary asked.

"Yes, it will just take a bit for my grace to restore itself," Cas responded, "but Emma is perfectly healthy."

"Why don't you take her upstairs and rest for a bit? You look like you need it," Mary told him.

Cas gave her a grateful smile before making his way upstairs. Dean stood up to help him but soon returned. Mary ran into his arms and started crying.

"She's so beautiful. This is everything I've ever wanted for you," Mary wept.

Dean just stood there and held her. It was a dream come true for Dean to have his mother around while he had a family. Soon after, he felt Sam's arms wrap themselves around the two of them.

Mary soon pushed herself away from her boys and sat down on the couch again. Wiping her eyes, she continued, "How did really go? We didn't hear anything for a while."

"It was fine, Mom," Dean replied, giving her every single detail of the birth that she demanded that could be put into actual words, Sam looking on interested in the answers.

Soon into their talk, the sound of two vehicles was heard driving up. Dean immediately stood up to look out the window. After doing so, Dean relaxed and went back to sit down. The sounds the engines shutting off and doors slamming were soon followed by the sound of the front door opening.

"Please tell me that we're still not sitting around our asses waiting for something to happen?" Bobby was heard around the corner.

"Naw, you missed the good stuff Bobby," Dean replied. "What are you doing here, sheriff?

Mary looked around, not expecting the title that went along with the guest. She saw a stern-looking woman with short hair with a teasing look behind her eyes.

"Just got paperwork for you to sign and a couple of things to give you," the woman said, tossing a set of keys toward Dean.

"What this for?" he asked.

"Those are the keys to your house. Bobby was complaining there was no way that he was going to be able to take care of everyone in this house."

"I didn't say that," Bobby grumbled.

"But you meant it," she said and a warm smile.

"Jody, are you serious?" Dean asked her.

"As a heart attack. Also, since I'm the sheriff, I count as an official witness to the birth so you don't have to go to the hospital. I just require seeing the cutie first."

"Jody...," Dean started.

"You don't have to say anything. Given the amount of crap you boys have been through, you deserve it. The house was foreclosed on anyways so that bank was selling it for pennies practically. You just have to keep up the payments, which should be easy with your cleared identities."

"Jody...," Sam stammered.

So, are you going to show me the baby or am I going to have to find them myself?" Jody asked, putting her hands on her hips.

"I'll just go get Cas," Dean blankly said before making his way over to the stairs.

Jody gently shook her head before turning towards the woman on the couch and held her hand out. "I don't believe we've met before. I'm Jody Mills, sheriff of the town."

"Mary Winchester," Mary replied reaching out to shake the hand offered.

A confused look came across Jodi's face. "Aren't you supposed to be dead?"

"Yeah... Haven't really figured out how I back though."

Jody just nodded. "Yeah, weirder stuff's happened. Especially when those three are involved." The last part was said with a mock look of disappointment crossing her face.

Footsteps were heard slowly coming down the staircase with Dean leading Cas back into the living room. Although it wasn't long, the angel was already looking better.

"Hello, Jody. Dean told me what you have done. Thank you."

"No problem, I just need to get a look at that cutie," she said, pointing at the bundle in Cas' arms.

Sitting back down on the couch, Cas opened the blankets some more while Jody went to sit on his other side so that Mary could still see the baby. This time, the sweet things eyes were open staring at the faces in front of her with interest. The eyes were a dark blue on the cusp of turning a different color. Mary suspected green.

"What's their name?" Jody whispered.

"Emma Grace," Cas replied just as softly.

Emma was seen looking between the two as their conversation progressed.

"I remember when my son was born," Jody said with a slightly mournful tone. "One of the happiest moments of my life." Blinking away tears, she turned and pulled out some papers she brought with her. "Alright, I just need you to sign a couple of papers, and then you can move into your new lives."
