Hi! We will have Raincloud's POV often. Just a heads up. Also, thank you for reading this. This is the first time I have done a fanfic, so I am trying to work it out.

Chapter 19

Dandelionstream ignored Berrydot's stare which burned her pelt. Dandelionstream knew what Berrydot meant.

I have to tell him. She sighed. I"ll tell him tonight.

Just then, Peachpaw came through the chamber Dandelionstream had been given. Dandelionstream had been training Peachpaw to hunt mice, birds, and fish. She was also learning how to fight.

"Can you teach me the roll and twist?" Peachpaw asked.

The Roll and Twist was a move that was a lot more complicated than it sounded.

"Okay," She agreed, and she and Peachpaw went out of the main cave to a clearing.

"Okay," Dandelionstream began. "Run to your opponent, twist, claw the ears, and roll away before they can strike."

Peachpaw gave her a confused look.

"I will try it on you," Dandelionstream said.

She jumped toward Peachpaw, who was several fox-lengths away, and twisted when she was halfway to her face. Dandelionstream pawed Peachpaw's ears with sheathed claws and then rolled away. All this happened in a matter of seconds.

When Peachpaw finally got it, Dandelionstream taught her how to defend herself when the move was used on her.

"First, this move is used long-ranged, so if you see it coming, just move out of the way and rake your claws along their side."

They practiced until sun-set.

I have to tell Oatclaw. Dandelionstream thought reluctantly.

Then a slightly brighter thought crossed her mind. I could tell Peachpaw.

"Peachpaw!" Dandelionstream called. "I need to talk to you."

Peachpaw hurried over. "Ummm...I never got around to telling you this, but what I am about to say, you can never tell anyone about. Do you understand?"

Peachpaw nodded seriously.

"Do you know who my mate is?" Dandelionstream asked, beating around the bush.

Peachpaw frowned. "Mosspath?"

Dandelionstream shook her head. "Oatclaw was."

Peachpaw stared unbelievingly. "The Oatclaw we are traveling with?" She asked dumbly.

Dandelionstream nodded her head. "He is the real father of my kits, but when he became deputy, he said we couldn't meet anymore."

Peachpaw narrowed her eyes. "Why are you telling me this now?"

Dandelionstream took a breath. "I am expecting his kits. I just found out a few days ago."

Peachpaw swished her tail. "So, you're telling me, you are not mates, but you are expecting his kits when Foxstar is also expecting his kits?"

Dandelionstream hesitated then nodded. "The truth is, I need your help. I haven't told him yet."

Peachpaw started pacing. "By the looks of it, you've only been pregnant for a half-moon. It is not noticeable yet. But you need to tell him kind of like you told me. Don't be casual about it."

Dandelionstream gave her a surprised look. "When did you become an expert?"

Peachpaw shrugged. "I don't know."

Dandelionstream walked to the cave. She remembered when Silver had given her a tour. It was actually a lot, lot bigger than she thought. The entrance was very big, then it narrowed to two fox-lengths. Then a lot of mini cave entrances were in the tunnel. About two nests were in each one.

Ten or more mini caves were in the actual cave. After that, it opened into a cave-clearing that the sick cats were treated. Minty's den was a very large cave that was accessible through the sick-cats-cave.***

It was a thin tunnel that sloped down to open in a very big cave with a small pool and a nest, and a large space for visitors. Dandelionstream navigated the tunnels with ease until she came upon Oatclaw's mini cave.

"I need to talk to you," Dandelionstream said.

Oatclaw's eyes dimmed with hope, only to die down again. She led him to Peachpaw's and Angel's cave. Peachpaw had made sure to take Angel out to play so Dandelionstream and Oatclaw could have some privacy.

"Now, don't freak out. What I am about to tell you changes everything."

Oatclaw gave her a serious look.

"I...am expecting your kits."

Oatclaw stepped back, looking startled. He opened his mouth, then closed it.

"I've been expecting for a quarter moon." She said.

Oatclaw began pacing the very small cave.

"Who else knows?"

"Berrydot and Peachpaw."

"Fine."

Oatclaw shook his head. "Are you going to stay here to give birth?" He asked.

Dandelionstream shook her head immediately. "No, I was hoping we could leave in the next few days. We need to go as far as we can before we make camp."

Oatclaw didn't argue. Dandelionstream's heart ached. Oatclaw was talking to her like they were formal friends, not the father of her kits. Dandelionstream walked curtly away, feeling sick. She realized that it was the pregnancy, not her sadness that was making her sick.

Then a shrill shriek broke through her misery. "Fox!"

Sorry I got uncharacteristically sweet in the beginning comment. It will not happen again. Also, I did this at midnight, so do not judge the writing.
