TWLEVE YEAR OLD AMY FLASHBACK POV
"No, let the girl be it! Since she is a girl!" Says one of my foster parents' kids as I stand near all the boys I lived with.
"Yeah, let the girly girl be it." Says Garret.
"Fine!" I can get all of you fat dummies!" I yell at them and they all look at me and laugh.
I stomp my feet at them as I am so frustrated that they outted me out the group again just because I am a girl.
"I hate being the only girl…" I think to myself as I walk up to the tree to count.
I walk through the patchy grass and then setting sun behind hits the tree where I was going to count at .Dragonflies fly over my head and I don't try to chase them this time since I had other goals. I fold my arms on the tree and I place my face on it and I start to count.
"Make sure you count to 50! If you can even do that girly girl!" Yells Garret and I frown in my arms as I start to count to 50.
"One… Two… Three…" I say loudly making them all run away as I hear their footsteps starting to become faint as they run in our big backyard.
I continue to count as I count, I turn around too see no one behind me. I stop counting at thirty-five as I didn't care about the stupid seconds.
"I wanted to catch them ALL FOR CALLING ME A GIRLY GIRL!" I think to myself as I start to run away from the tree that was near our house and down the hill to the big old farmhouse that was in the back of our backyard. There was also a lot of trees in the back as well that surround the farm and a tree house that made creaky noises every time the wind would graze upon it.
I sprint down the hill quickly letting my short curly hair float behind me as I make my way to the tree because I knew they always hid there.
"Boys are so dumb."
Dandelions fly past my face as I run up the hill and I stand on top of it. I look around and I start to walk as this win was going to be too easy.
I walk over to the trees and I peak around a tree to see no one there. I start to walk more deeper into the trees and I hear a twig snap making me stop.
I turn my head and I see Garret standing there with the other two boys around him. They look at with wide eyes and Garret takes a deep breath.
"RUN!" Garret says and they all take off out of the trees.
I watch them run for a moment and then I smile to myself. I start to run slowly and then I take off quickly as I had to prove my point. They start to take off down the hill so they could go across the hill.
I sped up as I was so used to running down the hill and I start to catch up to them quicker.
One of the kids looks back at me and screams as he notices how much I have caught up to him. I make it close to him and slap him on the back of the head, getting him out and I start to sprint up the hill since I caught one of my prey.
"THAT'S ONE PERSON! YOU TWO ARE NEXT!" I yell as I run up the hill faster than all of them.
"Come on! Jacob! WE CAN'T LET A GIRL WIN!" Garret yells as they make it on top of the hill.
"Okay! I'm right behind you-
"OUT!" I yell as I smack Jacobs head as I caught up to him.
Jacob looks at me in shock as he got out and I start to pass him as he slowed down. Garret looks back at me and notices that he is the only one left. The only one to prove the point that girls can't beat boys. I tighten my fists as I push hard to catch up to him as we both were nearing the tree.
Garret starts to speed up as well I blast full speed. Garret reaches his arm out as he almost touches the base. I reach my arm out as well as I am so close to touching him.
"HA, YOU CAN'T CATCH ME!" yells Garret and I growl.
"YES. I CAN!" I yell and I leap forward and I tackle Garret right before he can touch the tree.
Garret falls on the floor and I land on top of him. Garret looks up and notices that his hand was an inch away from touching the tree and I stand up off of him and I start to chant.
"HAHA! I did it!" I yell as I jump up and down celebrating my win.
Jacob and the other siblings run up the hill as they see that they all lost against me.
"No fair!" Garret says as he picks himself and looks at me angrily.
"Yes fair! I won fair and square. WINNER! WINNER!" I say as I pounce around garret making him angrier.
"Nice tackle Amy!" Jacob says and I stop dancing.
"Oh- THANKS!" I say as I run up to Jacob.
Jacob blushes lightly and I hear Garret dust his pants off making me look back to him.
"Tackling is so unfair! Why would we tackle a girl!" Garret says and I turn to him and spit my tongue out.
"You can try to tackle me if you want! You still wouldn't be able too!" I yell and Garret steps up to me and he was about to speak until we hear the back door open.
"Everyone! Children!" Says my foster mom Candance.
I turn around and I gasp as I see my favorite friend standing near my mom and dad that stepped out of the back yard.
"Udio is back!" I yell as I run up to my foster parents and Udio steps away from my foster parents to walk up to me.
Udio was a grey wolf with black and white hair. His hair was short stopped by his ears and he had sharp fangs that stuck at out his mouth and shined when he laughed. He also had a patch of white hair in front of his face.
"Amelia!" Udio says and I bring him into a hug making my foster parents smile.
"Udio! Maybe you should tell them the important news." Says my foster father and I look at him wondering what the news was.
Jacob, Garret, and Chrome walk up behind me as we all wait for Udio to speak.
"I'm- I am staying for a while." Udio says shyly and I gasp.
"REALLY?!" I say loudly and Udio nods his head and laughs.
"Yes. Udio is staying with us for a couple of weeks and maybe if things go well then, I we can keep him even longer! As he behaves so the social workers can work on him staying here." Candance says and I jump up and down.
"Which shouldn't be a problem! Udio already seems to be getting along so everyone. Let's give Udio a warm welcome back." My foster dad says.
The others walk up and wave at him and give him high fives and Udio smiles at all the nice gestures.
"Okay! You four have fun for another couple of minutes because it's almost dark out. You know I don't like it when you guys are out this late but since Udio is here just make sure you are back as soon as the porch light turns on." My foster mom says, and she leaves with my foster dad.
We watch the door close and we all look at Udio.
"Udio! I can't believe you are here!" I say as I grab Udio hand.
"Me too… I'm glad that let me come back here. You guys are fun." Udio says and Garret steps up.
"Yeah, Udio. I missed you most since I let you have my Nintendo ds last time you were here." Garret says and I look at him annoyingly as he was trying to take my friend.
"Oh, r-right- I have it as well. I wanted to return it since I am staying here for a while." Udio says and Garret shakes his head.
"No, it's fine. I'm the oldest so I have to take care of the younger kids." Garret says.
Garret was only a year older than us and it drove me mad because he was always wanting to be the leader of the group because he was older. Garret was also a white bear and a chubby one too with brown eyes.
"Yeah. Garret is the leader!" Jacob says and Garret high fives him.
Jacob was a burnt orange bear with ginger colored hair that was super curly. Jacob was the youngest out of all of us, 10, and basically followed Garret everywhere he went.
"Haha,yes!" Chrome says getting in on the high fives.
Chrome was a silver bear and he was the same age as me. Chrome was a bit lanky as well than the other two.
"Leader… more like looooser." I say as I hold up a "L" on my forehead.
Udio laughs and I feel happy as I finally had someone on my side for once.
"Similar to me Udio, had a rough childhood. Udio had to be taken away from his parents after he tried to protect his mom by stabbing his dad in the leg with scissors. Even, though his mother loved him, she abused drugs and had to get taken away. They thought that Udio was going to violent when he grows up so that's why the Social workers keeps on moving him place to place to ensure the safety of other foster homes but Udio was always nice to me and I never think that about him ever since he told me about what happened to him."
Garret looks at me and then he walks up to me, making walk up to him.
"You know what? Amy you did beat us all. Fair and square so maybe you should be the leader now." Says Garret and Jacob and Chrome gasp at his proposition.
"No! Garret you can't. We can't follow some girl." Chrome says.
"No guys listen. Amy did beat us. It's only right if I hold the spot to be leader of the group out since I was defeated." Garret says looking at his siblings and then back to me.
"But there has to be a challenge." Garret says and he starts to walk to the tree that was base and then he points at me.
"Hide and seek. One round. All of us versus you." Garret says and everyone starts to laugh and "ooh".
"That's unfair- "
"No, its not. Just beat us all again and you can be leader. Since beating us is so easy to you!" Garret says walking back over to us.
"Amy do it! Don't be a girly girl." Says Chrome and I bawl my fist and take a step to sock him in the stomach.
"You should do it, Amy! I'm sure you can win." Udio says making me stop.
I look at Udio and then back at Garret.
"Fine." I say as I lean down to retie my shoe.
"Cool. After you finish tying your shoe. We will give you eighty seconds… to hide and if we can't find you or you touch base. Then you win. Easy." Garret says.
I finish tying my shoe and I stand up.
"Prepare to be a follower. Because when I win! I'll… I'll…. Well I don't know but DON'T YOU WORRY!" I say as I point them.
Udio laughs at me and I smile at Udio.
"Prove it on the battlefield!" yells Garret and I stick my tongue and I walk to the hill.
I turn around and I notice that the sky is getting very dark and even clouds were coming in. Humid wind blows in my hair as I look at the base where Udio, Garret, Jacob, and Chrome were standing. They all turn around and I do the same as I wait to listen for them to start counting.
"ONE." Garret yells and I take off down the hill and then up it as I charge down to the back of the backyard.
I hope over an ant hill as I dash down towards the barn and the trees. I look at both and I try to decide where to hide.
"Think Amy…Where can you hide to where you can get the win." I think to myself as I look around.
"The secret shed!" I whisper to myself.
I start running into the woods and I go under my treehouse as I dash deeper into the woods. I jump over sticks and roots of the old tall trees as leaves blew in the humid wind. I smile brightly as my adrenaline run through my veins as I run through the forest.
I make contact to an old shed that is hidden by trees and I walk up to it slowly while panting a bit. The shed as an old metal shed that my foster dad would go too and cut down wood.
I pull at the door and it opens, letting dust fall on the front of it. I step and close the door behind me as the shed was starting to get a bit dark but enough to where I can find somewhere to hide. I walk into the shed and I smile as I knew that no one would never find me here.
I walk more of the back of the shed and I look around to see a lot of hay and wood laying in carts and shelfs.
A conveyor belt was also come through the wall and I guess that's what the wood gets placed on. There was also a separate room and I open the door to see a dusty room with an old shelf and barrels. I look up to see that there is no ceiling the great dark blue sky was above me with thick clouds in them.
"Woah." I say softly as I don't understand the shed.
I look around and I look at the shelf and smile. I move a barrel to the side of the shelf, and I step on it making sure not to fall. I jump up and I pull myself up on the shelf. I then pull myself up once more and I get on top of the conveyor. I sit down on the edge as I let my feet hang.
"Hehe, no one will find me here." I think to myself as I look around to see if someone was here or not.
I start to swing my legs back and forth to kill time as I wait for them to give up.
A lot of minutes pass over and I have yet to hear anyone and it was also very dark outside. I blink in the darkness as no one had showed up but the crickets who are awake to be the singing creatures of the night as they are.
I sigh and I fold my arms as I slowly start to think they just forgot about me. I stand slowly only to hear something behind me. I slowly turn my head and, in the darkness, and I can't see that well since there was no light in the shed, I was in.
The noise comes again, and I turn around fully and I stand on the conveyor belt that was above the shelves. A dark figure slowly appears, and I jump at the presence.
"Thanks for scaring me. Also! This didn't count. It took you guys two ages to find me and now it's dark, so this does not count!" I say and I get no response back.
"Ha, of course you are speechless because I am so good at everything and ANYTHING A BOY CAN DO!" I yell.
The silence of the person makes me frown and I get up on my feet quickly to continue to argue.
"Hey! Did you hear what I said- "
Suddenly two hands push me hard and I lose balance causing me to fall off the conveyor belt. My legs swing in the air as I fall in the darkness and my back collides with something wooden. I slide down into something that makes my legs come to my face and my arms stick out with my head in it.
Pain strikes through my body as I hit something hard and I feel tears come to my eyes.
"Ow!" I say as I cry a bit as I think I scratched my back up from falling inside something.
I look up and I can't see anything.
"H-hey! Why did you push me! That hurt so bad!" I say.
No response comes back and I look up at the conveyor belt I fell from and I still can see a figure. I whimper as the pain continues and I try to pull myself from what I was in. I can't move and I start to thrash more until I get tired.
A surge of panic runs through me and I try once more to get out and I slip down even further making me scream. I look back up again and the figure is still staring at me as my entire body is stuck. I fill around what I was stuck in and I remember the barrel I saw that was wide open on the top.
"He-hey! I'm stuck! Go get dad! "I say and the figure moves away making my panic disappear a bit.
I try to get out again as I push myself up, but it was no use since I was so stuck. A rumbling from the sky makes me jump and I look up slowly to see that the sky was a dark grey. Light flashes from the clouds and I flinch at the brightness.
I look back to the conveyor belt to see if the figure was still there and I start to panic again as I was afraid of the loud noises from the sky.
I try to move out again but it's no use since I was super stuck in this barrel. I start to breathe fast and I jump as something touches my leg.
I swat at my leg and I touch the unknown object only to find out that it was hay. I sink back down into the barrel as I notice that it wasn't a snake touching my leg. Another piece a hay falls on my face and I blow it off of it.
Suddenly an entire bundle of hay hits my body and I shake my head to get the hay away from my face. More and more start to fall on me and scream as my head starts to get covered.
"AHH HELP!" I yell and I hear footsteps above me causing me to look up.
The lighting flashes again and Garret is standing on top of the conveyor belt with a bundle of hay in his hand. I stare at him for a moment and then fear floods my mind as I realize that he pushed me.
"G-Garret-
"Shut up." Garret says and I feel more hay fall onto my body making me freak-out even more.
"STOP IT!" I say and hay starts to fall a lot more and it covers my face.
"I'LL- I'LL TELL MOM- "
"MOM?" Garret yells and the thunder booms over me again and I jump.
"She isn't your mom. She is ME, JACOB, AND CHROME'S MOM." Garret yells and I breathe heavily as I'm covered in hay.
"EVER SINCE. YOU CAME HERE YOU RUINED EVERYTHING. YOU TOOK MY SPOT AS THE FAVORITE CHILD AND NOW YOU ARE TRYING TO TAKE MY SPOT AS LEADER! WELL I WON'T LET YOU." Garret yells dropping a lot more hay onto me.
"S-stop!" I cry out as I can't see.
"I WISH YOU WOULD JUST DISAPPEAR!" Garret yells and he drops the last bit of hay on my body.
I hear his footsteps start to leave and I widen my eyes as I notice that I am getting left alone in the dark. I gasp for air as my legs crush into my ribs making me panic even more since I was technically buried.
"HELP!" I yell out into the darkness.
I cough as I try to breathe causing me to cry even more.
"Someone please! I can't breathe." I think to myself as more tears run down my face.
I feel a water drop on my face and I stop struggling as it makes me look at the sky through the hay on my face. More droplets hit the ground and I start to feel water touch my body.
The rain comes in harder and so does the wind and thunder causing me to close my eyes. The rain smacks on my feet that is sticking out of the barrel and I start to kick my feet back and forth. Lightning crashes above me and I freak out at the loud noise.
I start to hyperventilate, and I thrash in the barrel. I scream out into the darkness as the thunder continues to boom.
"PLEASE! ANYONE- "
The thunder crashes louder than my voice and I freak out in the barrel that I was for sure stuck in.
"Help me.
"I can't move…
Anyone… please… I can't breathe…
I'm stuck and my body hurts…
The dark is so scary…
I feel alone and afraid…
I want to go home…"
All these thoughts run through my head as I can't control my breathing but somehow, I am still here. Alive. My body feels like I am dying, and I cry even heavier as my hair soaked and so is everything else on my body. I take too big gasps of air as it becomes harder to breathe. My throat starts to tighten as I feel my brain go numb. I close my eyes in the dark as I am so afraid.
Thirty minutes pass and I am still stuck inside the barrel… crying… panicking…alone… and afraid of the dark but the tears from my eyes slowly stop coming out as I ran out of tears to cry with. My throat is sore from yelling, but no one still never heard me. Rain continues to drip on my forehead and the hay on my body makes me feel even more heavier as it layed on my body.
"AMELIA… "I hear a voice yell in the distance, but I continue to look forward as I had no urge to say anything.
My chest continues to rise quickly as the scary thunder rumbles above me.
"AMY! WHERE ARE YOU!" yells a familiar voice in the distance and I don't bother to say anything.
"Why am I not saying anything…" I think to myself as I start to see light flash in the forest.
Rain runs down my face and in between my eyes as the rain continues to pour on me. A flashlight flashes on my face and I continue to look forward in the darkness. Voices boom at me and I ignore them as I feel arms go around my body.
I get lifted out of the barrel and carry me into the shed. The rain stops touching me and I get sat on the ground with a flashlight flashing on me. The voices continue to vibrate in my ears, but I can't hear them.
I can't hear anything with all the darkness. The scary dark. The murkiness that wouldn't leave me alone and made me feel terrified. The Gloomy abyss that surrounded me while I had no choice but to be in it. The Absence of light. The thick tenebrosity color of the world when the sun leaves.
"Amy!" Says my foster dad making me look up him.
I look at him and then I look around the living I was in. I also notice that everyone is staring at with tears in their eyes.
"What- "
The thunder booms again and the lights flash off, causing me to jump and hop into my foster father's arms. They come back on and I squeeze my foster dad tightly as I was afraid to be in the dark again.
"PLEASE. . NO. DON'T LET ME BE IN THE DARK AGAIN." I scream and my foster dad places his arms on my back.
I start to shake in fear as I cling to him and I breathe heavily as I watch the lightning crash from outside.
"Amy… sweetie. How did you get stuck in the barrel?" My foster dad asks, and I slowly turn around.
I look at Garret and Garret eyes widen as he starts to take steps back.
"Why- Why are you looking at me- "
"Garret! Garret pushed me off the conveyor belt and then- then I fell into the barrel and it hurt when I fall and then he threw hay on me! And then he left me there! He left me!" I say as I turn to my foster dad and he looks at me in shock.
"Garret? Garret wouldn't do that Amy. Are you sure you saw him or were you just hallucinating?" Candance says walking up to me.
"NO IT WAS HIM. I SAW HIM. HE PUSHED ME!" I yell and I Candance looked like I was crazy.
"Amy… Garret wouldn't do that too you. He cares about you." Candance says and I shake my head at her.
"NO, IT'S TRUE HE- "
"I think it was Udio." Garret says and everyone whips their head to him.
"… what… no I- "Udio looks at all of us and backs up.
"IT WASN'T UDIO! IT WAS YOU- "
"Udio told me he was going to make sure; you never get founded. It wasn't me because I was looking in the barn!" Garret says and I frown at him.
"LIAR!" I yell.
"Plus! Udio would be the only person who could do such a thing. He was bragging that he stabbed his dad in leg." Garret says and Candance gasps.
"How do you children know about that?" she asks and Garret points at Udio.
The other two point at him as well and Udio looks panicked as he is blamed. My foster dad stands up and grabs Udio arm roughly and starts to drag him down the hallway.
"NO! STOP- "I yell as they take Udio away.
"Johnathan wait!" Says Candance and he continues to take Udio away from me
I watch them and I look at them in shock as they didn't believe me. Candance gets up and starts to walk towards were my step foster dad went and they leave us in the living room.
I move my eyes to the siblings and Garret looks at me and starts to walk closer to me. I scoot back and I wince a bit as my body was still scrapped from falling.
"You-you lied- "
"You never should have said anything. Now Udio is going to get kicked from the house. "Garret says and my eyes widen as I realize what he said.
"It's-it's not my fault- "
"It is! You could have said you just fell in there, but you had to say a name and now Udio is paying for it" Garret says, and he grabs my hair and yanks it.
"Ow, ow. Stop please- "
"So next time. Something like this happens maybe if you kept your mouth shut. No one would have gotten hurt." Garret says and I stare at his eyes in fear as he pulled my hair hard.
"Is it really my fault? I- If I never would have said anyone's name then maybe Udio would still be here. "I think to myself
I hear yelling from the other room and my heart thumps in fear as I hear Udio yell. Garret pulls my hair again making me fall forward and I look up at him as he looks at me.
"I'm the leader. And you listen to me."
~PRESENT TIME~
Sonic kisses my lips for the fourth time as he is about to leave so we can get ready to go hang out with the band, to get decorations for the club festival event.
"Amy. I have to go, or we will be late." Sonic says as I watch him leave.
"Right. I know." I say sadly and Sonic looks at me from the couch as he puts his shoe on and ties it.
"I know it sucks. But I'll still be there." Sonic says and I nod my head understanding.
"But we can't act like real couple… and that sucks too." I think to myself as Sonic stands up.
Sonic grabs my hand we start to walk to the entrance very slow since we both didn't know when the next time, we were going to able to do this. Sonic had already put his things in the car and now the only thing that needs to go in the car is him. Sonic turns around before he leaves, and I smile at him softly. I hug him gently and Sonic hugs me back covering me with his warmth and scent and the he releases the hug.
"Alright, I'll see you in about 30 minutes. -"
"Just one more kiss. "I say and blush as I cut him off.
Sonic leans down and kiss my lips again, I feel my chest flutter as he pulls away from me and smiles at me like he always does.
"I'll see you in a few." Sonic says and I nod my head.
Sonic leaves in his new car pulling off and I close my door softly and lock it. I sigh and I turn around at the mess Sonic and I made from yesterday. I quickly clean up as I have somewhere to be soon and after I finish cleaning, I run to my room to get changed for today's plan.
My heart still aches a bit that because Sonic had to leave so fast this morning. I walk to bathroom with the clothes I was going to wear today, and I look at myself. I looked a bit sad and I move closer to the mirror trying to look at myself.
"No… NO AMY YOU HAVE TO PULL IT TOGETHER!" I think to myself as I slap the sides of my face.
"It's time to go back to being the leader and I can't lose focus!" I say out loud.
I start to confidently put my clothes on getting ready to see my band.
35 MINTUES LATER.
"Amy, hey!" Rouge yells from Tails car.
"Amy!" Tails yells as he waves at me with both hands from his car.
I smile brightly and I lock my door and run to Tails car in hurry since it took me an extra 5 mins to get ready. I run up to Tails orange truck and I hop in the back.
"Tails when did you get this?" I ask and Tails turns around to me.
"Well- I always had it. I just had to fix it up a bit and I finally found to the time to fix it this weekend." Tails says and I smile at as I look around at his fixed car.
It looks so nice! Wow." I say and Rouge turns around as well.
"You look nice too! I love the bucket hat and the low space in your hair wifey." Rouge says.
"T-thank you." I say shyly
I had on a white bucket hat on head and some very loose jeans that had holes where my knees where. I also wore some white sandals and an oversized white graphic t-shirt that I tucked into my pants. My hair had two mini braids in the front of my face, and it moved every time I turned my head. The rest of my hair, I put in low space buns.
"You guys look great too." I say and Tails and Rouge both thank me.
Rouge has on a yellow crop tank top with a butterfly on it and some light wash jean shorts on while Tails has on a red maroon shirt, dark jeans and his glasses.
"Thanks… but now let's go pick up the angry man," Rouge says, and we all laugh.
"Yeah, the angry man." I think to myself as I roll Tails window down and I place my arm on the arm rest as the warm wind blows on my face.
Tails pulls around and starts to drive down the street to Sonic's place and in 5 minutes are, so we are outside his apartment. My heart thumps for some reason as I look at his car and then I look away from and back to front of the car.
"Hey, and there he is. Right on time." Tails says making Rouge and I look over to Sonc's front yard of his apartment.
Sonic walks up with a black hat on backwards, a black t-shirt with a basketball on it and some grey adidas pants with black shoes. One of his hands are in his pocket as he walks up the car and he has a finished apple in his hand, that he tosses on the ground.
I start to feel butterflies in stomach as I try to remember that I need to act normal.
"But what is normal with Sonic anymore. We have done so much so it would be too hard to act like nothing never happened." I think to myself as I feel my heart jump as the door beside me opens.
"Nice car, Tails." Sonic says as he jumps in the car.
"Yo, Sonic! I know right!" Tails says and they fist bump and then Sonic looks at Rouge and automatically looks annoyed.
"Hey Mr. Angry." Rouge says and Sonic shakes his head and then he looks at me.
He cocks his eyebrow and I blush as words don't come out of my mouth.
"Is Amy okay?" Sonic asks as he starts to smile a bit.
"YES!" I yell out making Tails and Rouge look at me.
"Hi Sonic, how are you?" I say as I notice my outburst caused me some attention.
"Heh, pretty good. I was enjoying my morning until the plans you made were so early." Sonic says and frown at him.
"THE SOONER WE WAKE UP, THE MORE WE CAN GET THINGS DONE!" I say passionately and Sonic sighs.
"12 P.M. is kind of early- "
"Not if you went to sleep on time. How did you sleep?" Rouge asks and Sonic shuffles in his seat as his legs were super long, so he had to spread them out a bit.
"Actually… today was the best sleep I have had in a while." Sonic says and I tap my knees as I try to ignore what he just said.
"I just wish I didn't have to leave the bed so soon."
"Okay, he is talking about us- can he stop-"
"You seem like your sleep has been great." Rouge says and Sonic laughs a bit.
"Really?"
"Yeah you seem… lighter than usual so I will take back my "Mr. Angry comment back. Rouge says and Sonic laughs.
"Thanks, and I'll try to hold back at calling you anything today." Sonic says making me laugh a bit.
Tails pulls off from Sonic place and heads down the road. Tails place some light music, and everyone sits in silence as we head to the party store to get supplies.
We hit a bump and my braids bounce, making me move it behind my ear since it was annoying. As I move my braid away, I look to left at Sonic and I notice that he is looking at me and then he slowly looks away and out the window.
"Why was he looking at me." I think to myself and I tap him on the shoulder making him look at me.
"What?" he asks.
"You looked at me." I say and Sonic says, and he shrugs his shoulders and yawns.
Sonic looks back to the window and I sigh as I can never read him. I cross my leg and I feel my phone vibrate making me open my phone and look at it.
"Can I just look at you? Damn." Sonic texts me with a. annoyed emoji.
"No? Have you forgotten that we are constantly breaking the rules every day? Dummy." I text back and I feel a smile crept back on my face.
"All I did was look at you. Can friends not look at each other?"
"Not randomly like that." I text back and I hear Sonic sigh.
"Okay… more rules that you are going to make and then break… I'll listen to you though until we break them again." Sonic says and I blush as he calls me out.
"NOT TRUE. I don't break all the rules."
"Lol okay, Amelia." Sonic texts me and I blush as he calls me my first name.
"Amelia? Why are you calling me by my name?" I text and I hear Sonic chuckle.
"Because we are friends Amelia. So, I have to call you Amelia. Right Amelia?"
I frown and I close my phone making Sonic look my way a bit, but I don't look his way because I'm not texting him back.
"Amelia?! What makes him think he can call me that all the sudden. I liked it when called me Amy… or Baby-"
Suddenly Sonic pokes my rib making me squeal and I cover my mouth. Tails swerves a bit as I scare everyone in the super quiet car and then he drives back correctly. Rouge turns around looks at me insane as Tails drives in the turning lane and stops as he waits, he turns around as well.
"Why are you screaming?" Rouge asks and Sonic looks at me confused as well.
"Because of this dumbshit beside me." I think to myself, but I blush.
"I-… I just remembered that Sonic and Tails have yet to pick out a song. I need them so I can start finding the notes to the songs." I say.
"O-oh right. I thought of one song." Tails says and he turns into the store parking lot.
"Like?"
"I thought… we could do a duet." Tails softly and I gasp.
"TAILS! THAT'S THE BEST IDEA EVER!" I yell and unhook my seatbelt and I hug him from behind his neck.
Tails swreves a bit more as I hug him tightly and everyone starts to yell as I won't let go of him. Tails hits the brakes hard in a parking spot as I hug him.
"Oh my god, Amy! You are going to get us killed- "
"TAILS TAILS TAILS! WHAT KIND OF SONG!? IS IT SOMETHING FAST! OH, I KNOW ARE WE BOTH SINGING ON THE MIC!" I yell at Tails as I lean in his face.
"Well- I actually I haven't decided on a song yet- I have two options but that's what I came up with so far… I thought what if we all did duets or something like that and then we all played together." Tails says and I start to bounce up and down at his idea.
Before I could embrace Tails again, Sonic grabs me by my sides and pulls me back down to the seat.
"I think that a cool idea… but hey! How come you don't want to duet with me?" Sonic asks since he was the singer of the group.
"Well- well- Amy can sing and play the guitar, so I thought- "
"I can play the guitar too." Rouge said says as she scowls at Tails.
"Well I-.
"I GOT IT!" I say blasting up to the front again.
"What if I picked a song for you three to play! That would be so cool!" I say and they all kind of look at each other and nod their head.
"But what about you?" Sonic asks and I shrug my shoulders and smile.
"I'll be fine! Maybe I can take the time to meet people since I'm the leader and all." I say and they nod their head agreeing.
"BUT ALSO! WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE WE PRACTICE SO STARTING MONDAY! HAVE YOUR SONGS!
"I didn't get to pick a song though. You stole my job." Sonic says.
"Oh- I did. Hm…" I think for a moment and then I grab Sonic by the face, and he blushes slightly.
"YOU CAN PICK OUR CLOSING SONG!" I yell.
"What? I can't possibly do that- "
"Yeah, Sonic! I feel like you haven't really taken control of the group yet so you should pick it." Tails says.
"I agree." Rouge says and scuffles Sonic's hair.
"What? Ho-How will I know what song to pick for us?" Sonic says and looks at me confused.
I smile at him and I shrug my shoulders and I unlock the car. Everyone else follows me in the process and Sonic moves around the car and walks up to me a bit panicked and confused.
"Amy- How am- "
"You will know. Just pick a song and we will all learn it and play it! We trust you so don't over think it." I say and I pat Sonic on the shoulder.
"But I- "
"Come on Sonic!" Tails says and wraps his arm around Sonic's shoulders as they walk to the store.
Tails locks his car door and Rouge and I follow Sonic and Tails as we enter the party store.
"That's a good idea making everyone have a chance to do something." Rouge says to me and I nod my head and smile.
"It is… even though we are a band I want to make sure everyone is doing something that is uncomfortable to where it gets comfortable. WE HAVE TO GROW!" I say slamming my hand in my fist and fire coming out of my eyes.
Rouge laughs at me softly as we step inside the party store and the cool air conditioner hits our faces and bodies as we enter.
The party store looks pretty small for the outside but in the inside it's a big warehouse store full of party supplies for weddings, birthdays, graduation, any celebration you can think of they have it. Rouge and I walk up a bit closer to Tails and them and I look at the back of Sonic. I stare down his arm as he points it across the store and then he places it back in his pockets.
"Hm…"
"Hey! We should split up. Since we all have a list on our phones on what we need we should all take separate baskets and get them." Rouge says and Sonic and Tails turn around.
I was still staring at Sonic's arms as he turned around and we made eye contact, making Sonic look at me. I slowly look away from him and I feel a blush rise on my face I look towards Rouge.
"But who gets what." Tails says as he takes out his phone and so do, we too look at the list.
I open my phone back and I slowly look at Sonic to see that he is on his phone as well. My eyes go to his veiny hands as he types things on his phone. I shuffle my feet and I look back to my phone to see that I have a message.
"See, look at you. Still looking at me. Amy you are such a rule breaker it's kind of sad at this point." Sonic texts me causing me to blush I notice that I got caught again.
I ignore his message and I open my notes and I clear my throat making everyone look at me.
"I put the items in order so I can just send out an equal amount of supplies."
I copy and paste my list from the notes and before I send it to the group chat Sonic sends me another message.
"You should come find me in the store if we are separating. That way we can stare at each other a longer." Sonic texts and I blush immediately, and I leave him on read as I go to the group chat to send out the messages.
"Alright! And there we go! Everyone has separate tasks so let's all do our best!" I say and everyone nods.
We all grab baskets and I reach for orange one since I kind of liked that color. I pick it up and Sonic reaches by me as well and grabs a basket and rubs his arm against mine. I stare at Sonic as he rudely bumps to me on purpose and then I walk away from him to head towards the party food section.
I walk down the aisle and I pick up some black party cups since some of my items were all food related. I pick up black plates, black napkins, black plastic silverware, black bowls. I look around some more to see if I needed anything else and I start to push on to the gift section.
Rouge brought up the idea to have gift bags for the people sing which will make a lot more people come to our event. The gift bags will be filled with an invitation to our next important performance, candy, a plastic guitar pic since they sold those at in a bag here and some gift paper to make the bags pretty.
I walk towards the aisle and I smile softly as I was so excited for our club festival. The aisle for gift bags were all the way at the end of the store so I run with my basket down to it and I start to slow down as I notice how dim it was. I look up and the lights were flickering while the other lights barely stay bright. I squeeze my basket as I stop, and I take a few steps back as I was afraid that the lights would cut off on me.
Something falls in aisle I was supposed to be on, and I peak my head out as the person who was responsible for dropping the stuff, says a curse word.
I look over to see that I was Sonic who knocked over a box of gift cards that were on a stand. I walk a bit more as I watch Sonic and my basket hits the shelves making him look up to me. Sonic stands up and smiles at as he places the last gift card back on the shelf.
"Hey there, cutie." He says to me and I blush as I start to back out of the aisle.
I look at Sonic annoyed and I start to walk away until Sonic speaks to me again.
"Okay! Okay! I'll stop." Sonic says while laughing and I walk back up to him with a red blush.
"I'd thought you would be here since no one else had the gift bags." Sonic says and I roll my eyes at the fact that Sonic wasn't taking this seriously and I walk past him to grab some sparkly black mini gift bags.
I feel Sonic's eyes pierce into my head as I didn't speak back to him and it only makes him walk closer to me which is expected. I reach for the gift tissue and Sonic grabs it before me making me look at him.
"Excuse me mam?" Sonic says in a deeper voice than he has than usual with a smile and I try to hold in my laugh.
"Do you need help looking for something?" he says as he places the gift tissue in my bag.
"No, I don't. But, thank you sir." I say playing along with Sonic's little joke.
"I think you do need my help because the tissue you grabbed wasn't the correct one." He says he notices I grabbed a random green tissue than the silver and white from my basket and shows me it.
"Opps, hehe. Maybe I do need a little help." I say shyly as I grabbed the wrong thing.
I take the tissue from him and my fingers brush against his making my eyes go to his. Sonic look in his face changes and he moves his hand to my face and places the braids that was hanging in my face to my ear.
"You look very pretty… by the way. I like these buns in your hair." Sonic says and I stand up quickly to stop what can happen if I continue to let Sonic look at me like that.
"S-Sonic st... sto…st- "I try to tell Sonic to stop but as he rises to his feet and towers over me makes me stop talking.
"Stop what? Making you nervous?" he asks as he steps towards me and I don't move.
"No. You aren't making me nervous, but you do need to act like MY FRIEND!" I whisper harshly and Sonic folds his arms and leans on the shelf.
"I am."
"YOU AREN'T." I say as I touch Sonic chest with my pointer finger.
"You keep on flirting with me and you have to stop, Sonic." I say and Sonic looks at the finger on his chest and then he looks back up to me and smiles at me.
I watch Sonic carefully after he just smiles and doesn't respond. Sonic looks behind him and then behind me making me look behind myself because I was confused on who and what he was looking for. Sonic hand grabs my finger and I whip my head back to see Sonic face really close to mine.
"I really haven't flirted with at all… but I see you are taking it that way because of the romantic attraction." Sonic says and I blush.
"Y-you have."
"Nah, I haven't…." Sonic says and then steps closer to me and pulls me closer to him.
"All I said was that you were pretty." Sonic says.
"And- you asked me to meet you somewhere so we could look at each other." I whisper quietly and Sonic chuckles at me.
"Well, you are the one who initiated that one since you kept on looking at me in the store." Sonic says leaving me speechless as he is right.
I try to think of something, but nothing comes to mind as Sonic won our little argument. Sonic moves my finger to his mouth and licks it gently causing me to yank it out of his grip. Sonic laughs at my reaction causing my blood to boil and I reach up to the back of his head and I grip his hair.
"Ow" Sonic says softly, and I slam his head into my forehead as rage flows through my body.
"Sonic. I will beat you to a pulp if you don't stop. A PULP. RIGHT HERE IN THE STORE." I whisper harshly and Sonic smirks at me.
"Do it then." Sonic says as he looks at my eyes and then my lips.
I look at Sonic once more and I let go of his hair and I start to walk away. Sonic suddenly grabs my wrist making me stop and grab a random gift card. I turn around and I start to smack Sonic with it repeatedly.
"OW! Hey!" Sonic says but I ignore him as the gift card was working.
Sonic grabs both of my wrist and I try to move them from his grip. Sonic pulls me closer to him, making my chest touch his and I slowly look up to his face.
"I'll stop, okay. I just missed you." Sonic says softly and I look off making Sonic touch my face and move it back to his eyes.
"I'm serious. Look." Sonic lets go of my wrists and takes a step back from me.
"See." Sonic says.
I look at Sonic and the distance between us and I look back at his face as he seems a tiny bit sad and I feel my heart thump a beat as I think if I was too harsh. Sonic takes another step back and I instantly take a step forward making Sonic stop.
"Uh- Sorry. I didn't mean to be as harsh as I was. I just don't want to get caught Sonic." I say softly and Sonic nods his head sadly understanding.
"No, Sonic. Don't make that face." I say walking back up to Sonic and I grab his arm softly.
Sonic starts to walk back, and I stop him from walking as I touch his face getting him to look at me.
"Babes, nooo." I say in a caring voice and Sonic raises his eyebrow at me as I touch his face.
"Babes? You called me babes." Sonic says and I blush as I didn't know I even said that, but I shake my head.
"Well- Yeah. You are my…baby." I softly and I feel Sonic face grow hot as my hands were on his face.
"Here, lower you head really fast." I say and Sonic does so.
I tilt my head a bit as Sonic face comes close to mine and I place my lips on his. Sonic kisses me back and I slowly move away from his lips and I look at his face.
"Um… we should probably stop." Sonic says as I am sure he felt the strong tension from the small kiss we had.
"Right." I say and I slowly drop my hands from Sonic's face, and they run down his strong shoulders.
I drop my hands to the side while Sonic's face was still super close to my face. Sonic then places his hands on my lower back, and I walk a bit closer to him again. I kiss Sonic gently again and Sonic kisses me back. Sonic and I start to kiss each other gently in the back of the store and I feel my heart flutter every time, Sonic would move away from my lips just to kiss me again.
My tongue hits Sonic's and that makes us both stop as we notice we have been kissing for a while. My phone vibrates causing Sonic to remove his hands from me and I step back and take out my phone.
"Tails and I are done. We tried to look for you and Sonic? Did you guys get everything?" Texts Rouge and I blush as I give Sonic a look to tell him to him that we took too long.
"Yeah, sorry. I couldn't reach a shelf so Sonic came and helped me and then Sonic couldn't find the streamers, so I helped him find that. But we are heading to the front now." I text and I put my phone back into my pocket.
"Let's go, they are waiting on us" I say and Sonic grabs his basket and mine and starts to walk toward the front.
I follow him and we make it to the front of the store where Rouge and Tails were both holding onto their basket. We make it too them and I look at everyone's basket, making sure they had everything.
"Okay! I think that is everything." I say and we all walk towards the check-out area.
We all set our stuff on the cashier's conveyor belt and the older woman starts to check us out, but she looks at us twice and gasps.
"4 Times Different?" she yells a bit loud and I blush we are recognized.
"You are Amelia Rose and Rouge the Bat!" she says, and she checks out our stuff while looking at us both.
'Ye-yes that's us." I say shyly and then she looks behind us blushes.
"AND YOU ARE THE SINGER. S-SSONIC THE HEDGEHOG! HAHAAH I OH MY GOD. ME AND MY OLDEST DAUGHTER LOVED YOU AT YOUR PERFORMANCE AT EMERALD CITY!" she says as she stops checking us out to talk to us.
"Thanks so- "
"Can I get a picture with you all! Tails is here too! Wow."
The lady walks around the cashier to take a picture with us and we all smile at her phone as we take a picture with us. The lady moves back behind the cash register and continue to check us out.
As we finish getting checked out, they put all of our bags in a buggy and they push it in front of us to take.
"Thank you so much mam- "
"Can I just get a picture with you Sonic! Please just a small one." She says and she runs over to Sonic before he could even agree to take the picture.
"S-sure." Sonic says looking at her and then to us as he feels like the woman is fangirling over him.
We all laugh and walk a bit to the exit leaving Sonic to get asked multiple questions by the older woman. I watch sonic from afar and Sonic blushes as the woman tells him something and then he finally gets away from her and looks at us in fear.
"Sonic! You have fans." Tails says and he starts to laugh causing Sonic to grab Tails by his shirt and drags him out of the store.
I laugh at them as we walk out. We make it to the parking lot and then I stop as I realized I forgot something important. Rouge turns around and notices I stopped.
"What?"
"I FORGOT TO GET A CD." I say and Tails and Sonic looks back at me.
"I can come with you- "
"NOPE IT'S OKAY! JUST PUT THE STUFF UP." I say as I run back to the store. I make it in the store, and I look around at the signs to see where the CDs would be. My eyes hit a sign that says electronics on the third aisle to the last on the left side of the store.
I start to walk towards it as my feet hits the while tile on the floor. I turn into the aisle and I see a stack of blank CDs on a cart in the end of the aisle. I take one and I look at it to make sure I just wasn't buying a random CD.
"Bro, do it again!" I hear a voice say down aisle.
I look down it in confusion as I wondered why the person was being so loud. Suddenly a stranger hit a backflip and lands beside making me step as they almost ran into me. I frown and I open my mouth to say something, but my eyes widen as I notice who it was.
"…What."
Icy blue eyes look into mine in shock as we both recognize each other.
"Why is he… where did he come from." I think as I drop the blank CD onto the ground.
I take a step back as his icy blue eyes look at mine. Suddenly they go to panicked and I take another step back as I didn't know what to expect.
"Amy? What are you doing here?" he asks me to make me step even more back but slowly.
He looks over my face and it goes to soft as he notices the fear in my face. His friends come over and point at me as they start to laugh.
"YO SCORUGE ISN'T THAT YOUR EX?" one of his friends ask.
"Guys split now!" he says to them and they scoff and walk away and start to go back to being loud and rude in the store.
Scourge eyes go back to mine and I gasp as I realize what danger I am in.
"No…No-"
I turn around quickly and I start to walk quickly but I stop as I hear him say my name.
"AMY, WAIT!" he says and I slowly turn around to see that he was following me a bit.
"Amy… let's just talk." Scourge says calmly and I back up again only for Scourge to take a step towards me.
"Talk…"
Scourge takes another step ad picks up the CD I dropped on the floor. He looks at it and then he looks back to me and stands up a bit straighter making me swallow hard.
"You seem scared… I can't blame you." He says and I watch him carefully as he takes another step towards me.
I take two steps back and Scourge stops moving as he sense my discomfort.
"Amy- Amy can we please talk." He says to me and I continue to stare at him in shock.
"Talk? He wants to talk… I should… I should run- "
I snap out of my thoughts as I feel a hand on my wrist. I look down slowly to see Scourge holding my wrist and I look back at him slowly.
His eyes are nice and sweet. Like the first time we met, and he opens his mouth showing his sharp teeth to talk again.
"I'm so sorry. I was drunk Amy and I tried calling you, but you blocked my number and you blocked me on everything. I wanted to fix things with you, but you cut me completely off, Amy. Completely. Even after I cheated on you which I regretted." Scourge says and his grip on my wrist isn't tight at all.
I could run to the car if I wanted too but… I didn't.
"I cheated and I am so sorry Amy. Really. But People make mistakes and I loved you Amy. I still do and we can't just cut this off like this. We have to talk." He says and I look off.
"Look we shouldn't have broken up like we did. We didn't even talk about it. You just left me Amy like we didn't love each other?" Scourge says and I look up to him as he talks.
"If… I did have the chance to fix things. I'd… work on winning you over again and ask you on dates again Amy because I don't want to let you go." He says and I feel his grip tighten on my wrist softly as he stares into my eyes.
"I just thought… we loved each other, and you were my best friend and us breaking up wasn't the answer. We should have tried to fix things right there." Scourge says and I look off a bit.
"Mistakes… everything he did is more than just mistakes."
"Please say something." He says to me and I bring my free arm to my stomach.
"What happened at the club. I really did come there for you. I did I thought if I showed up then maybe it would mean something to you, but I got drunk and angry by the way you looked at me. Like I wasn't even a person but now Amy. Everything escalated so quickly after your friend showed up. I wasn't even trying to get violent with anyone but… but I don't know it just happened." Scourge says and he brings me closer to him.
"But Amy. I'm calm. I won't ever do that too you again because I love you… don't you still feel the same way?" He says to me and I look up at his eyes.
"What… what's even happening and why can I not move."
"Babe." Scourge says snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I'm… I'm not your babe." I say softly.
Scourge slowly let's go of my wrist and I bring my wrist to my hand as I feel so afraid.
"Can I see your phone?" he asks, and I stare at him.
"Why?"
"So, I can unblock myself." He says and he looks down at my pockets.
"We… don't have to be a relationship. I just… I'm not ready to lose our bond we had together. Before I went and fucked up." He says.
I don't move an inch and Scrouge moves his arm towards me making me hold my breath as his hands go in my pocket. He takes my phone out and he unlocks it with a password I haven't changed. He types some things on it and then he hands it back to me.
I take my phone back gently and then he tries to hand me the CD. I take that as well but as I try to take it from his hand, he holds onto it.
"Call me. Okay? Or I'll call you." He says and I don't nod my head or shake it as I just wanted to leave.
He touches my forehead with two fingers and releases the CD, letting it go into my hand. He walks away and I stand in the aisle. I blink a bit and then I turn around as I walk to the cashier. I walk up to the exit of the store and the sunlight brings me back to earth as a single thought hasn't moved in my brain.
"Scourge he really appeared out of nowhere. Maybe- maybe I should tell Sonic that- "
My stomach turns in knots as I think about would happen if I told Sonic.
"No. I can't tell Sonic. If I do, then what if he fights him and he brought his friends with him and it would not end well. He could get arrested or even worst, hurt." I think to myself as I scrunch the plastic bag in my hand.
"But I feel so afraid. Maybe I should tell him… what if I just tell him not to freak out and not go inside to fight him- "
"Amy come on slow poke! Tails just lost a bet to me and now he is taking us all out for ice cream." Sonic yells at me from far away as he stands out of the car.
Sonic voice makes me jump and I walk towards him. Halfway there I stop and as the thoughts in my head hold me back from walking any further.
"I should probably tell him that he showed up but if I do-. No, I can't. If Sonic gets hurt because of my troubles it will be all my fault. All mine fault- "
A flashback from my childhood roams my mind as I learned from this before.
"I can't… I can't put him through my problems like that- he will go berserk and it will put him in danger. I can't… Right? Isn't this just me keeping him safe- "
"Hey? You coming?" Sonic asks making me look up at him.
Sonic happy face makes me push pasts the negative thoughts that are flooding my head. Sonic smiles at me and I feel my face turn a bit red.
"C-Coming!"
