Internal Deception

Chapter 24th

Meanwhile Casey was finishing up with the bloodwork in the lab when her computer ping. She went to check the results to find out that the warden was dying from liver cancer. Along with finding a letter on his laptop telling the authorities on why he killed Hussein and himself. It was a sad thing to be reading the letter.

Casey needed to speak with Doctor Milliard with the results even though it was late. She really wanted to go on home and get some rest. She needed to let them know with Palmer and Milliard were cleaning up the autopsy bay after placing the body into the cooler.

Walking to the autopsy. She heard Palmer talking about his family needing to be with them right now. Ducky told him to him that he was going to close up and head on home himself.

Palmer turned to face Casey looking perplexed on her face. "I am sorry to have bothered, I had gotten the blood results on the warden. He was dying Ducky from liver cancer and was going to die any rate. So he decided to end it now than later." She stated with emotion pouring out of her.

"Very sad Doctor Milliard." Palmer said with taking off his glasses for a moment before placing them back on.

"I agree, as with Gibbs would say as well. At least he was spared this nightmare having been staying at the safehouse." Ducky replied with watching Casey needing to leave.

"I am going home Ducky, I've had enough of this the past week everyone. My report will be sent to Director Vance when I come back tomorrow." She turned to leave heading for the lab to gather up her things.

"She's really upset Doctor Milliard. No doubt she will get over it like everyone else as with Gibbs and Bishop." Palmer shrugged with moving to reach for his backpack and other items to leave with Ducky to finish up. He was exhausted and needed some fresh air before heading home.

The next morning Naval Yards

Jack Sloane was waiting for Special Agent Jethro Gibbs to arrive for his appointment to talk before getting the green light to head back to work.

She kept on reading over the file on the bio/profile of Lt. Loreile Baskins. She was rather impressed with the woman already, along with a persona like Gibbs. It was a no wonder that he liked the woman a great.

She seemed somewhat jealous in some way. Though than again she was happy for her friend even though they had tried to get together, but it didn't work out.

Playing with her curls out of a nervous habit. Gibbs showed his face wearing a nice blue pant set that brought out his blue eyes. "Am I too early Jack?" He asked with Sloane telling him to come on inside.

"Nope! Just perfect timely Special Agent Gibbs. So tell me how are you feeling this fine morning?" She stated with a slight smile.

"Cut the crap Jack and let's on with this time. I am fine and ready to go back to work. I just made a bad mistake with entering into the safehouse." He lied to her and didn't need to have her grill him about Loreile.

"Really! You could of fooled me, Jethro with that scene in the conference room and outside. Any rate you seem to be feeling fine both physically and mentally. And to let you know about the warden with the final report from Ducky and Doctor Palmer. He killed himself because he was dying from liver cancer and just couldn't take it any longer, since he was going to die in prison."

"I wonder who is going to take over now that he's dead?" Gibbs needed to asked the question.

Jack had the file in front of her of all available personnel working at the prison. "It does look like Assistant warden Joseph Dennison will be taking over after five years as Assistant Warden. Background is impressive with having served two tours overseas with several awards for when it comes to being a sharpshooter."

"It looks like the position is in good hands with Dennison taking over. I just hope that he is going to make changes at the prison especially after what happened with Hussein being taken out." Gibbs subjective with the statement.

"Maybe. And besides You seem to be ready, so I will let Director Vance that I will give the green light to have you start work tomorrow with your team."

"What about Special Agent Eleanor Bishop?" Gibbs quipped with the question since she is a vital part of the team.

"She came in last night to talk with me about her experience at the safehouse. The only thing she didn't like was the fact that the marines had to knock her out to bring her to the Evergreen safehouse without even asking. Otherwise she is fine and dandy and will be starting to work tomorrow as well Gibbs, so your entire team is intact." Sloane says to have Gibbs smiling slightly with his features.

"Good to hear, now maybe we can do our jobs and start putting criminals back into prison. Can I go now I have errands to run before I start to work tomorrow?"

"Sure, you're free to go Jethro." She didn't bother to say anything else before getting into trouble with him or anyone else.

Eleanor Bishop's residence

She was coming out of the bedroom to head out to run. She was feeling frustrated once again after she had told Nick Torres that she needed time with his answer and the ring.

She had been married once before to Jake and winding up in divorcing him. Next came her close friend with Reeves being killed. She didn't know on whether she was ready to be in another marriage. However this time it was different with Torres.

She needed to talk with someone that had been married a number of times. So instead of going to run. She used her cell phone to call Gibbs on his.

"Bishop what's going on ?" He said with his usual response.

"Gibbs are you home? I need to talk with you about something important. I will try not to take up too much of your time." She asked sitting in her vehicle ready to drive on over his house.

"Fine. Come on over Bishop, I will have drinks ready with your arrival." Gibbs said from his couch annoyed as hell.

"I will be there in twenty minutes." She replied.
