Thank you for the reviews.

So this is one of my favourite ideas for this story. I just hope you enjoy it as well. (Also set 2 weeks after the last chapter)

Double Date

Eddie did know that Jane wasn't the same person that pushed him when Rachel ran off and got drunk. He had seen the kind, caring side of her. It made him smile when he watched the way that she was with both Rachel and Sally. He could see why Rachel wanted a relationship like Jane and Sally's. They were made for each other.

So he could sense Jane's confusion as to why he had sent her a text, asking him to meet him in a coffee shop near her house. He had even ordered her an americano, which she looked suspiciously at.

"How did you know?" She said as she sat down opposite him.

"Rachel mentioned it. We were talking about how she has her coffee black and her tea white. She said that you had your's black as well and that is why she has her's that way. I just thought…"

"You do surprise me still." Jane looked him up and down. "So what is this all about? Is this all part of your plan to show Rachel that you love her? Even though, on multiple occasions, she has told you that she does believe you now."

"Sort of."

"Sort of?"

"Look, the last time we were together, alone, you pushed me and shouted at me, asking where Rachel was."

"You aren't going to get an apology if that is what you are looking for."

"No, it's not." He sighed. "I know I see you but… I wouldn't say that I know you. Or Sally really. As someone who hoped that to be important in Rachel's life, I think it is important to actually get to know the people that are already important in her life."

"Where are you going with this?"

"I think we should go on a double date. You and Sally, and me and Rachel."

He didn't know how to take the way that she was looking at him and he wondered whether he had suggested something that he shouldn't have done.

"You know… you just amaze me. Like… you're a man. You aren't meant to be this thoughtful."

"Does that mean you are on board with the idea?"

Jane chewed on her lip, a habit that Eddie knew Rachel did and who she obviously picked it up from.

"Yeah. It's a good idea. But we have certain rules on date night. Me and Sally. If you are fine with that."

"Sure."

"So no shop talk. Sally doesn't talk about what cases she has been working on and… I don't talk about what I do. For you two, it will mean nothing about school. If you do, it is a fiver penalty. Might want to remember some cash. The money goes in the middle and then when it comes to the bill, the forfeit money is counted up, taken off the bill and the rest is split equally." She paused, but not long enough for Eddie to say anything. "And, before you be a man, it will be split equally. We are all adults with jobs. We can pay for a meal."

"That's me told."

"Although you can do everything else, as it is your idea. You know, book the restaurant and taxi. If you are good enough, I might even allow you to sleep over."

She had said it with a straight face but she started to smile at him as he laughed. He took it as a good sign that he did have her complete approval. If anything, it proved that it was a good idea and that he was sure that the four of them would have a good night.

Someone had opened the door for him. He didn't see who because they had made their way back upstairs before he had entered the house. He could hear them asking each other if they all looked okay and who had which pair of shoes. If anything, Eddie was taken back to university. They came down the stairs at the same time. His eyes were on Rachel but he felt like he couldn't say something without including them all.

"Well, I think I have lucked out here. I am the one going out with three beautiful women."

Sally smiled at him, taking the compliment for what it was. Jane glared at him, not that he expected anything else from her. He was a bloke after all. Rachel walked over and placed a kiss on his lips. He knew the shade of lipstick that she was wearing, so he knew that she was going to end up wiping it off his lips.

"You know that your charm is only going to work on one of us." She said as she wiped her thumb over his lips.

"As long as it works on you, then I am happy."

They ended up smiling at each other before Jane reminded them about the taxi waiting outside, telling them that they could undress each other later. Eddie laughed as Rachel did, glad that he did organise the night.

Jane had told Rachel earlier that this was all Eddie's idea and the reason that he had behind doing it. She found it extremely thoughtful, a thought that she shared with Sally rather than Jane. Although she felt like Jane had a plan for the night and it made Rachel wonder whether Jane had told Eddie about their 'no shop talk' rule.

They had settled down at the table, with Jane telling Eddie that he had made a decent choice. Rachel could only shake her head at her cousin as she sat down next to Sally and opposite Eddie. They browsed the menu for a bit as the natural conversation started up between them, with a feeling that Jane was finally getting to do her line of questioning to Eddie.

She knew that there was always a chance that they could bump into one of her students. The restaurants in the area were probably full of them on Friday and Saturday nights. An accessible job that gave them a lot of experience in the world of work. Rachel just didn't expect Bolton to be standing at the end of the table, ready to take their order.

"Miss, Sir, Sally," Bolton said.

"Bolton, may I say you are looking rather smart," Sally said.

"Thank you."

"Haven't seen you in your usual spots?"

"Not anymore Sally. Isn't that right Miss? Trying to keep my nose clean."

"Good to hear Bolton." Rachel said.

"And Sir, it was those mock interviews that helped me get this job. Honestly, it felt so easy."

"Good for you," Eddie said before he turned to her. "See the lessons for life is working."

"So does… Does this mean that you two are dating?" Bolton said. "Just there are multiple people that have arguments for both sides. I mean… the rumours started when you started coming into work together constantly."

Rachel flicked her eyes to Eddie. "It was always going to come out eventually."

"But do you want it to come out through Bolton?"

"Steph or Bolton? Because that it what it is going to end up being. They do also have to believe him. Although, if our order gets out, he will find himself in the cooler for the rest of the school year."

"Don't worry your order is safe with me."

They ordered, with Jane smiling all the way through, and Rachel only realised what had happened when Jane asked Bolton for an empty glass. She cursed herself for mentioning the cooler and had already reached for her bag before Jane had said anything.

"All three of you." Jane turned to Sally. "That must be a record."

Rachel turned to Eddie and shared a look. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but they had both silently agreed to help each other to try and get Jane to put a fiver in the pot.

Rachel bit her lip as she leant against the bedroom door. She could tell that Eddie was annoyed and could sense that he wasn't quite ready to open up until they had heard another door slam shut. She smiled at the look on his face as there was another thud from the floor above.

"I don't ask." She said. "Thought that they wouldn't ask me so I don't ask them."

"Right?"

"Now are you going to tell me why you have a face like you've just had a lesson on the quadratic equation with a bunch of year nines that decided that they wouldn't listen throughout the lesson?"

"Are you ever going to tell me what you taught? Because I really don't have you down as a maths teacher."

"What type of teacher do you have me down as?"

"English or humanities. But then it doesn't explain the… Bachelor of Science degree."

"It does. If I was a geography teacher."

"Geography?"

"They were low at the time and I could accelerate the course for me. You spent three years at university and just got a bachelor degree. I was at university for the same time and got a degree and a masters. I didn't care. I… just wanted to be a teacher." She laughed at the look on his face. "Come on, what's wrong?" She said as she pushed herself away from the door.

"Geography?"

"Eddie."

He sighed. "Just… I can't believe Jane got away with not putting a fiver in the forfeit glass."

"Sally mentioned to me that she was rather good at not talking about work."

"Still. No wonder they have that rule because Jane gets a cheap meal out of it. I was going to pay for it all anyway."

"You practically did."

"Exactly. That is why I am slightly annoyed. I ended up paying for a meal I was prepared to pay for in the first place but was lulled into thinking that the bill would be split equally."

She smiled as he huffed as he sat down on the bed. She knew the cruel trick that Jane had used, something that they would have to talk about in the morning. But it had been a good idea and a good night. She was about to take her jacket off when she had an idea. Maybe something to take Eddie's mind off the fact that her cousin had conned him.

"Do you want me to make it better for you?" She said as she walked over to him.

She knew that he didn't catch her drift immediately. She slowly peeled off her jacket, making sure that his eyes were on her all the time. She watched him as he swallowed and she knew that underneath all of his gentlemanly ways, he was just a bloke. Although one that never seemed to just take from her. He loved to give her just as much attention, if not more if she counted all of his gifts over the last couple of months. It was only right that she showed him that. Gave him something back.

Her hands went around his neck as she bent down to kiss him but moved as his hands landed on her hips, peeling them away from her.

"Rachel… you don't have to." He said as he pulled back, taking her hands in his. "I… I don't want you to do anything that will… remind you."

Heart of gold was the only thing that Rachel could think of and it only made her want to do what she had thought of more. Because he deserved it more than anyone else that she had been with. She kissed him again but kept a hold of his hands.

"Eddie. It is you who is sitting there. It is you that has shown me so much kindness and love over the last four months. You could have given up on me the moment you found out. But instead, unlike anyone else that was told, you are still here. And when I am with you, sex is and will always be more than just sex. And when I am with you, nothing will ever remind me of what I used to do. Because I am now doing it because I love you and I want to show you that.

"I want you to know all the different areas of my body and how I react when you kiss them. But I also want to know it the other way round. I want to… I want to know what you like and… maybe part of it is me just being a tease. But, ultimately, I want to know how to show you love. I want to know how I can give back all your hard work over the last two months. There is only one way that I know how to do that at the moment. Maybe together we can work out other ways. But, for tonight, let me do this. Because… I may have a couple of old tricks and I think you will enjoy them."

She kissed him again and she felt like any argument that he was trying to form had gone. She took a couple of steps back, out of his reach before she made a start on the buttons on her blouse.

"There is just one rule tonight, Mr Lawson. You can look but you can't touch."

"And what if I do?"

She reached the last button before she looked up at him and walked back into his reach. She leant forward, resting her hands on his knees, knowing the view that he had as she placed her cheek against his to whisper in his ear.

"Then I'll have to come up with a suitable punishment."

She loved the way that he groaned at that and placed a couple of kisses on his jaw to tell him that. She retook her place out of his reach and only smiled at the way his hands were tightly holding onto the duvet. Although, her own self-control when it came to Eddie was minimal and she hoped that she could keep the game up long enough to show him that she meant her words.
