One Month Later:
Hermione opened her eyes, looking around the bedroom in her new house with Tony, and the others of course, and she smiled. At Tony's nagging, Hermione stepped back from work a little, she still worked from home, but he made sure that she wasn't too stressed. At four months along she was already showing a little and was very proud of her little baby bump. Hermione got up and took a shower but as she was getting dressed, she heard distressed voices coming from downstairs and wondered what was going on. Dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a sweater that made her baby bump look even bigger than it was. Tony rushed over to her when she came down the stairs, he went over to the kitchen and came out with a plate of breakfast. Eggs, bacon, fruits, cottage cheese. She adored this man, he always knew what she wanted before she even knew what she wanted, and he was always happy to help. Hermione looked around and realize there were way more people around than there had been the night before.
"What's going on?" She asked him.
"Nothing to concern yourself with" Tony lied "No reason to stress out my son"
"Don't worry" Hermione grinned, loving this game that they played all the time "My daughter isn't so easily stressed out, it must be a male trait that you Starks carry" She leaned in and kissed his lips gently "We Granger women are strong"
"That's good to hear" A tall, dark-skinned man with a patch over one eye said as he walked out of the kitchen and towards the crowded living room "We may need another strong woman to help us win against this newest threat"
"Threat?" Hermione repeated "What is the threat, who is it...what's going on?!"
"Not this woman" Tony snapped at the man "She is pregnant with my child"
"Then let's hope this threat is easily taken care of so you can see the kid grow up" The man answered.
"TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Hermione shouted, the dining room table and the three end tables in the living room lifted and slammed back down because of the burst of uncontrolled magic that burst from her "And who the hell are all these people?!"
"Hermione" Tony whispered "Why don't you go upstairs and take a hot a bath?"
"Why don't you" Hermione said, pulling her wand out "Start telling me who the fuck these people are in my house before I start blasting them out of it, hmm?"
"You have to excuse her" Tony said, forcing a smile on his face and looking at the others "Magical pregnancy means magical mood swings, not fun"
"Tony..." She snarled.
"Okay" He said "Have a seat and we'll explain everything"
"Okay" She whispered, her face was red with embarrassment at how she'd acted in front of strangers, he'd been right, her mood swings were insane, but they'd been reading about magical pregnancies "I'm sorry, Tony"
"It's okay" He grinned "I like it when you get mean"
"This" Bruce said, standing from the couch "Is Nick Fury from SHIELD, Wanda Maximoff, Peter Parker, Gamora, Nebula, Peter Quil, Groot, Rocket and Drax"
"This is fifteen people in my house" Hermione whispered, counting the rest of the people in the house "Do we have enough room?"
"They'll have to double up" Tony answered her quickly.
"There's a threat to the world" Nick answered "His name is Thanos"
"He goes through places and wipes out half of the living beings" Gamora told them all "And he's set his eyes on Earth"
"Why?" Hermione asked, she saw Luna's tighten her hand around Jarvis's.
"Why not?" Nebula asked "He seems to think that he's going to save you by eliminating half of you"
"Is there no-way to deal with him without fighting?" Hermione asked.
"Many have tried" Gamora informed "All have failed" She stood and looked out the window that stared out towards the woods "He sweeps through the area like a plague, he picks and chooses who he deems worthy enough to live and then he kills the half he deemed not worthy" She lowered her eyes to the ground "Then he moves on to the next unlucky place, and he always takes a trophy"
"A trophy?" Hermione asked "Like a wand or a...a gun?"
"Like a person" Gamora answered, with a dark look "He took Nebula and later he took me. Some that he takes he loses interest in and kills them, others he sells to the highest bidder or a bidder that has something he wants and yet he needs to keep alive and some, like me and Nebula he tries to make into weapons"
"What we need to do is build an army" Nick Fury said gruffly to the group "We have weeks before he strikes and we need to figure how he's going to strike, when and how we're going to meet him"
"He's going after the infinity stones" Gamora answered "He's been after those for years and I think he's found some of them"
"Can we count on your fiancées help?" Nick asked, looking at Tony.
"No!" Tony looked horrified that he'd even ask such a question "She's four months pregnant!"
"I meant her help getting the magical world to help us" Nick hissed "I don't really expect her to be out on the battlefield with a big pregnant belly!"
"Why don't you talk to me about this instead of about it in front of me like I'm the bloody furniture or something!" Hermione growled "I can't say the magical world will be behind you because we are all still healing from our own war but I'm sure some people will help"
"That's all we could ask" Nick said with a small smile.
"Sir" FRIDAY called out "Mr. Malfoy is here to speak with you and Miss Granger, should I let him in?"
"Yes" Hermione answered "I've an idea"
Hermione watched the blonde wizard walk into the living room. His eyes swept over the room and his brows rose in surprise at the mere number of people in the living space. He had been there to talk to Hermione and maybe Tony about merging their two businesses but with all those people staring at him he was suddenly reminded why he hated business meetings. Being the center of the attention used to be his thing, but the war had taught him humility and respect and a fear of judgement made him mellow out. He stopped walking and looked around his eyes trailing from person to person before stopping on a tiny woman that took his breath away. Her hair was a light reddish-brown, her skin was pale, she was wearing a black dress that stopped above her knee, a red leather jacket and tall black boots. She was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen and now he felt like a moron, standing there waiting to be acknowledged by anyone other than her.
"Draco" Hermione greeted "What brings you all the way out here?"
"I..." He tore his eyes away from the beauty in the red jacket and looked at his friend and almost fiancée "I..." He cleared his throat "I wanted to speak to you guys about work but...you're busy"
"We are" Hermione admitted "But you see I have all these guests and not enough room for them, you...however, have a whole manor home with only you and your mother living there...think you could help me out?"
"You want me to take people I don't know into my house where my mother is..." Draco repeated, brow raising, and he looked just like his father "Doesn't sound really..."
"Draco" Luna spoke softly "These people are good people, take Wanda here" She pointed to the beauty in the red jacket who had taken his breath away when she was just sitting there, but then she lifted her eyes and Draco was sure his world had just stopped "She's going to be sleeping on a floor if she has no-where else to go...do you want her to sleep on a floor while there is a bed in your manor that is cold and all because you're scared"
"Well...I don't want her to sleep on the floor" Draco muttered "Fine, I will open my manor home...after you tell me why"
"Sit down" Hermione said, picking at her breakfast "It's a long story"
~~~/ /~~~
Harry was sitting behind his desk when George and Loki walked up. They visited occasionally, show him new things that they made and get his views on it though he really didn't care. This day, however, they looked like whatever they were going to be bringing up was something heavy. They sat down on the other side of his desk; Loki looked worried about something and when Loki was even slightly inconvenienced by something George was upset about it too.
"There is a threat" Loki said, he lowered his eyes to the desktop "To the world"
"Okay" Harry said "The Auror's can shut the magical world off from the muggle one..."
"It's a threat that reaches not only the muggle world but the magical one as well" Loki told him "I'm sure that soon enough Hermione and the others will be here asking for help, but they came to me first...they must be extremely desperate if they came to me"
"What do I need to know?" Harry asked "I'll need to bring this to the minister to get the okay to bring a team of Auror's up against this threat"
"This has everything you need to know" Loki told him, sliding a manilla envelope towards Harry "Thor's new friends have written up everything they know about this threat. George was so kind as to make copies so that everyone has one and can better study him..." He bit his lip slightly and looked over at George with worried expression "It looks...pretty bad"
"I've only known you for a little while" Harry said "But I'm worried about the reaction you're giving me about this threat, if you're worried that makes me worried"
After George and Loki left, Harry looked over the paperwork that had been in the envelope that Loki had given him. Then leaned back in his chair and scrubbed his hands over his tired face and wanted to scream, this was as big of a threat as Voldemort. He knew what Minister Shacklebolt would say, he would think this was a threat against muggles and why should they risk their own lives to help them when they would not do the same for wizards? His head snapped up and Harry shot from his seat, collected the papers, shoved them back into the envelope and ran out of the office. The secretary outside of the minister's office called for him to stop, to please let her let Kingsley know that he was going in, but Harry kept on. He found the older man sitting behind his desk reading the newspaper, Harry scoffed under his breath, everyone claimed the Minister was so busy but there he was reading the paper.
"Minister" Harry said by way of greeting "You need to read this"
"What is it?" Kinglsey asked, sighing and taking the envelope.
"This is a new threat coming towards the world" Harry told him, watching as the minister read through the papers and then raised his head.
"This isn't our problem, Harry" Kingsley said
"How is this not our problem?" Harry snapped at him "If this...Thanos comes to the muggle world and wipes out half of it, who is to say it won't wipe out half of us?" He forced a laugh "We can't survive with half of our people missing"
"We can protect ourselves" Kinglsey answered "Put spells around our world, block it off to the horrors of the muggle world..."
"What about America or Russia?" Harry asked "We're not the only magical community!"
"We will warn them" Kingsley answered "But this is not our fight and I will not subject our still grieving community to this"
"Why not?!" Harry yelled "Why not help the muggles..."
"Because they would not do the same for us!" Kingsley shot back, standing up from his seated position behind his desk "Don't you think we asked, when Voldemort was at large...when people were going missing, when you, a teenager, were set to fight against a mad man, don't you think we asked for some sort of assistance from the muggles?" Harry didn't know any of that and it made his stomach feel hollow "They said no that they had nothing to give us that could help, and we believed them...now I see that they had more than enough help...a muggle man that made a flying suit, a man made from electronic parts, demi-gods...they could have helped but they didn't want to"
"The muggle government didn't want to" Harry pointed out "But you can't say that the muggles here wouldn't help!"
"I said no, Potter" Kingsley slammed the file shut on the desktop "I thank you for bringing this to my attention and I will make sure that the Wizarding world is properly protected"
"But..." Harry tried.
"This is not a time for your need to play the hero!" Kingsley yelled at him.
"Hermione is going to be married to one of the muggles that will fight" Harry informed him "She is four months pregnant now, that is magical child and you know she will do all that she can to fight this threat and that puts a magical child right in the way of this threat, we need to stand behind her!"
"If she does decide to fight" Kingsley said with a sigh "Then I will see fit to have that child taken away and given to a family that will properly protect it"
"Mark my words, Kingsley" Harry said in low, threatening tone "If you ever attempt to take that child away...no one will ever believe that whatever happened to you was done by me"
"Threatening the Minister of Magic?" Shacklebolt asked "Not a smart move, Potter"
"Threatening my friends, my family and everything that I love in this world?" Harry countered "Now, that isn't a smart move, Minister"
Harry turned and walked out of the office. He was shaking with his anger and the adrenaline that was coursing through his body. He understood what Kinglsey had said about the muggles not helping, but he needed him to understand that not all muggles were the same. That the threat coming to them was going to affect not just the muggle world but the magical one as well, it was terrifying. When Harry's secretary asked him if he was okay, he shook his head at her and told her that he was leaving early for the day. Harry grabbed the muggle jacket he'd worn in, grabbed the file that he'd duplicated before going to see the minister. He made his way to the Floo Network and thought about where he needed to go, who he should contact first.
"The Burrow" He called out.
