Chapter 22: Sam and Tory
It's 10:45 AM. Sam and Tory are sitting across from each other at the kitchen table, eating their bananarama chocolate chip pancakes.
"So," Said Tory after swallowing a piece of her pancake. "Which did you like better? The Drinking Game or The Pillow Fight?"
Sam swallowed the piece of pancake that was in her mouth after eating the piece, and began to think about Tory's question.
"Hmm…" Replied Sam. "You know, they both had there plusses and minuses, but if I had to pick one, I'd say breakfast."
Tory chuckles, admiring that Sam has a sense of humor.
"Good one." Replied a chuckling Tory. "But seriously, though, which did you prefer?"
Now, Sam has no choice but to give Tory her honest answer, and not only that, she's got something else she has to say to her.
"I guess the drinking game." Answered Sam.
"Yeah." Replied Tory. "I mean, nothing beats a bunch of drunk chicks screaming about hot guys."
Sam smiles and chuckles, again admiring Tory's witty sense of humor.
"You know, Tory," Said Sam. "I have something to tell you."
"What's that?" Asked Tory, who was curious as to what Sam was about to say.
"I'm sorry." Answered Sam.
"Sorry for what?" Asked Tory.
"For judging you." Confessed Sam. "It's just that I'd gotten away from the whole party girl thing in recent months, and watching the three of you, I guess I just started to feel nostalgic."
Tory smiled. She knew that Sam wasn't the goody two shoes she was acting like at first. She knew it was likely that Sam has had at least a few drinks in the past, and she also knew that Sam would eventually cave in.
"It's cool." Replied Tory. "I mean, I knew that bug up your ass would die, eventually."
"Heh." Chuckled Sam, who couldn't be happier that Tory was being cool about the whole thing. Tory could've been a real bitch about it, but thankfully, she wasn't. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it." Replied Tory.
So, Sam and Tory resumed eating their pancakes.
Meanwhile, in Robby's bedroom.
Robby is in his bedroom, performing a set of 60 knuckle pushups.
"54, 55," Counted Robby as he was doing his pushups. "56, 57, 58, 59, 60."
After completing his set of pushups, he gets up from the ground, stands up tall and strong, and sighs.
Then, Robby began to think about the fact that his parents are getting back together. It's something he's dreamed about a lot when he was a little kid, but he never thought in a million years it would ever happen.
Then, Robby remembered the box that contained his childhood drawings, so he walked over to his closet, pulled out the box, opened it, and and pulled out the drawing of him, Johnny, and Shannon standing in front of a red car and behind a tree.
Then, Robby remembered a J.M. Barrie quote that a teacher of his once shared with classroom when he was in Elementary School.
"If you wish hard enough, your dreams will come true".
Then, small tears of joys started to run down Robby's face.
This was a childhood dream of his that has finally come true. For years, Robby believed that his parents were done forever and would never get back together, no matter how much he wished they would. But now, he knows that his teacher was right.
Cut To: 10:52 AM, in the Robinson Family kitchen.
Sam and Tory just finished their pancakes a couple minutes ago, and they've put their dishes in the dish washer.
"Those were some good pancakes." Commented Sam.
"Yeah." Replied a smiling Tory. "I bet you're feeling a lot better now, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I am." Replied Sam. "But not 100%."
Tory was a bit disappointed to her that Sam wasn't 100% better, but that was okay, because Tory had an idea.
"Oh, just thought of something." Announced Tory.
"What?" Asked Sam, who was curious to know what Tory had on her mind.
"Did you pack a bikini?" Asked Tory.
"Yeah," Answered Sam. "Why?"
"Well, I was thinking the two of us could go outside and hop in the jacuzzi." Proposed Tory. "Sound good?"
Sam thought for a few seconds, and she decided "Why Not?".
"Yeah." Answered Sam. "That sounds good."
"Well, alright." Replied Tory.
10 minutes later.
Sam and Tory are in the jacuzzi in the backyard. They have been chit chatting for the past couple minutes, and they've been having a really good time so far. They have really been getting along, and they're enjoying chit chatting and relaxing in the hot tub.
"So Tory," Said Sam. "What's it like in Santa Cruz?"
"Not really much different from the valley," Answered Tory. "To be honest."
Sam was a bit disappointed to hear that, but she wanted to keep the conversation going, so she decided to ask her a question that was guaranteed to have an interesting answer.
"So, have you ever taken Karate before joining Cobra Kai?" Asked Sam.
"No," Answered Tory. "But I did take some kickboxing lessons back in Santa Cruz."
"Hmm…" Replied Sam, who's impressed that Tory has somewhat of a martial arts background. "That's cool."
"Yeah." Replied Tory.
Then, Tory thought of something: Since both her and Sam are in a jacuzzi, the opportunity is perfect for a game of either twenty questions or this or that.
"Oh, I just thought of something." Announced Tory.
"What?" Asked Sam.
"Which would you rather play?" Asked Tory. "Twenty Questions or This or That?"
"Hmm…" Replied Sam as she began to think. "How about Twenty Questions first, then This or That?"
"Sounds good to me!" Replied a smiling Tory. "But only If I ask the questions, you answer, and then ask me the same question back."
"Deal!" Replied a smiling Sam.
"Okay, It's On!" Replied a smiling Tory.
Sam giggles. She knew she was about to have a lot of fun.
"Alright." Began Tory. "Who is your favorite band of all time?"
"Nirvana." Answered Sam.
"Oh My God, Me Too!" Replied an ecstatic Tory.
"Really?" Asked Sam.
"Yes!" Answered Tory. "I Love Nirvana!"
"Cool." Replied Sam.
"Okay." Replied Tory. "What's your favorite Nirvana song?"
"Hmm…" Replied Sam. It was very difficult for Sam to think of a favorite Nirvana song. After all, they had so many great songs, but after thinking about it for a moment, she came up with an answer. "I'd have to go with Smells Like Teen Spirit."
Tory chuckles.
"That's a good one." Replied Tory.
"What's your favorite?" Asked Sam.
"I'd have to go with Come as you are." Answered Tory.
"I'd say that's a close second." Replied a smiling Sam.
"Okay." Said Tory, about to change the subject. "Who's your favorite actor?"
"Hmm…". Replied Sam.
Sam had A LOT of favorite actors, and it was hard for her to pick just one.
"That's a tough one." Continued Sam. "But if I had to pick one, I'd say probably Leonardo DiCaprio."
"The king of the world, huh?" Replied Tory.
Sam smiles and chuckles, happy that Tory is amused by her answer.
"What about you?" Asked a curious Sam.
"Hmm…" Replied Tory. "I think I'd go with Leo too, although Johnny Depp is definitely a close second."
"Very close second!" Replied a smiling Sam.
In response, Tory smiled and chuckled. She was happy that she and Sam seemed like two peas and a pod so far.
"Okay." Said Tory, about to change the subject. "What's your favorite book?"
"The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton." Answered Sam.
And at the mention of The Outsiders, Tory's smile grew even wider.
"Me Too!" Replied an ecstatic Tory. "Stay gold, Ponyboy! Give Me Five!"
Sam smiles, and gives Tory a high five.
"Alright." Said Tory after the high five. "Who is your favorite filmmaker?"
Now, this was, by far, the toughest question Tory has asked yet. Sam had several favorite filmmakers, From Steven Spielberg to Christopher Nolan to James Cameron to Martin Scorsese. She really had to think about this question.
"Okay, I'm gonna have to really think about this one." Replied Sam.
"That's okay." Replied Tory. "Take your time."
Sam began to think about their filmographies, and thought about what was their best films.
Out of Scorsese's films, she really enjoyed Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, Gangs of New York, The Departed, and Hugo.
Out of Nolan's films, she really enjoyed Memento, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and of course, The Dark Knight Trilogy.
Out of Cameron's films, she really enjoyed Terminator 1 and 2, Aliens, True Lies, Titanic, and Avatar.
Out of Spielberg's films, she really enjoyed Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Jurassic Park, and the Indiana Jones franchise, but she still hasn't seen either Schindler's List or Saving Private Ryan, which are both often held up as Spielberg's masterpieces.
But still, even without having seen those, Spielberg's filmography was very strong, but she also felt that Scorsese's filmography was every bit as strong, and couldn't decide between the two of them, so it was a tie!
"Okay," Said Sam. "After careful consideration, I'd say it's a tie between Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese."
"Hmm…" Replied an intrigued Tory. "That's interesting."
"What about you?" Asked Sam. "Who's your favorite filmmaker?"
"Quentin Tarantino." Answered Tory. "You like his stuff?"
"Well, I like what I've seen." Answered Sam.
"What have you seen of his?" Asked a curious Tory.
"Well, of the films he directed, I've only seen Pulp Fiction." Answered Sam. "Of the ones he wrote, I've seen True Romance and From Dusk till Dawn."
"You gotta see his other stuff." Replied Tory. "His shit is da bomb."
"One of these days, I will." Replied Sam.
Tory smiled, happy that Sam enjoyed what little of Tarantino she had seen.
"Okay, what's your favorite movie of all time?" Asked Tory.
Sam smiled wide when Tory asked this question. She just knew she'd love this answer.
"Pulp Fiction." Answered Sam.
Sam and Tory both giggle and chuckle.
"What's your favorite movie?" Asked Sam.
"Kill Bill." Answered Tory. "Both of them."
Sam was a bit surprised to hear Tory say Kill Bill instead of Pulp Fiction, mainly due to the fact that Pulp Fiction is universally regarded as Tarantino's best film, but she also thought it was cool that Tory's favorite movie is a martial arts film.
"I should check those out." Replied Sam.
"Okay." Said Tory, about to change the subject. "What is your favorite TV show of all time?"
"Avatar: The Last Airbender." Answered Sam.
"Me Too!" Replied an ecstatic Tory.
"Really?" Asked an impressed Sam.
"Yep." Answered Tory. "Isn't it cool to meet people with common interests?"
Sam smiled, and replied "Yes, it is."
A Few Hours Later, in Samantha LaRusso's Bedroom.
Samantha LaRusso is now at home, in her bedroom, wearing a bathrobe and drying her hair after a shower.
Then, suddenly, her smartphone starts going off, so she turns off her hairdryer, sets it down on her bed, picks up her phone, and sees that it's a facetime call from Aisha, so she smiles and answers it.
"Hey, Aisha!" Said Sam into the phone. "It's great to hear from you! Do you miss me already?"
Aisha giggles. She finds it funny that Sam is asking her if she misses her, given that she hasn't been away from her house for that long.
"Actually, I just wanted to see how you were doing." Answered a smiling Aisha.
"I'm doing fine." Answered Sam.
"Tory told me that you and her really hit it off." Said Aisha.
Sam smiles and chuckles.
"Yeah, she's cool." Replied Sam.
"I bet you really wanna come join the Cobras now, don't you?" Asked Aisha.
"Nah," Answered Sam. "I'm Miyagi Do for life!"
Aisha laughs and smiles.
"Okay, but the offer still stands in case you change your mind." Replied a smiling Aisha.
Sam smiles.
"Well, I gotta get back to drying my hair, and then, I gotta take a nap, so I'll talk to you later."
"Okay." Replied Aisha. "See you later."
Cut To: 5:55 PM, at the Cobra Kai Dojo.
Class ended about 10 minutes ago at the Cobra Kai dojo. Everyone has since left the dojo, except for Johnny(who's in his office using his laptop), Aisha and Tory(who are in the main dojo, still dressed in their Gi's), and Robby and Hawk(who are in the green room).
Since everyone else(besides Johnny, Robby, and Hawk) are gone, Aisha and Tory now feel that it's the right time to go talk to Robby about incident between him and Tory the previous day.
Aisha really wanted Tory and Robby to get along, and she didn't want any bad blood between them, so she decided that she was going to do her best to get Robby to apologize to Tory, and to get Tory to accept his apology.
So, Aisha and Tory walk over to the green room and go inside. Inside, they see Robby and Hawk, who are out of their Gi's, shirtless and wearing pairs of athletic shorts.
Hawk is lying down on the bench, doing barbell bench presses, while Robby is watching Hawk, making sure he doesn't hurt himself.
"55, 56, 57…" Counted Hawk.
"Alright, Hawk!" Said Robby. "Keep going! You're doing Great!"
"Hey Robby!" Said Aisha. "We need to talk to you."
Robby turns around, faces the girls, and sighs. He knew it was about the incident with Tory the day before, and that Tory must've made him sound like the bad guy to Aisha.
"Hawk, put the barbell back up." Said Robby. "I gotta talk to them. Just go over to punching bag and practice with it."
Hawk puts the barbell back up on the rack, gets up from the bench, and walks over to the punching bag so he can practice his punching and kicking while Robby talks to Aisha and Tory about whatever it is they want to talk about, which Hawk couldn't care less about.
Robby walks a few steps up, and asks the girls "What do you want?", pretending not to know what Aisha and Tory wanted.
"Robby," Said Aisha. "Did you yell at Tory and call her a bitch after class yesterday?"
"Yes." Confessed Robby, who, by both the look on his face and the way he answered the question, obviously did not have even one tiny iota of remorse. "I did tell that bitch to leave me alone."
Aisha shook her head in disbelief, she couldn't believe that Robby would not only shout at a girl just for wanting to hang out with him, but would also not have even a tiny shred of remorse for doing something so mean. That just wasn't the Robby she knew.
"I can't believe you, Robby." Replied Aisha. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with me?" Replied an astounded Robby. "You should be asking little miss hot shot that question."
"All she wanted to do was hang out with you!" Replied Aisha.
"Yeah, and she wouldn't stop bugging me about it, even after I told her that I have a girlfriend and that I'm not interested in her." Replied Robby.
Aisha immediately began to process what Robby just told her, and she began to think.
While she still thought that what Robby did was uncalled for, she understood why he would've been annoyed with Tory, so she looked at Tory and said "Sounds like both of you should apologize to each other."
"What?" replied a shocked Tory. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "What should I apologize to this asshole for?"
"Look, Tory." Replied Aisha. "Robby's taken, and you should've respected that."
In response, Tory scoffed.
"So that gives him the right to be an asshole to me?" Asked Tory.
"No." Replied Aisha. "But it definitely explains why he got mad at you. The point is, Robby has a girlfriend and he doesn't want to hang out with some girl that's not. To him, that would be like cheating. I mean, honestly, if you had a boyfriend, and some other guy was trying to ask you out, wouldn't you be annoyed?"
Then, Tory thought about what Aisha just said, and realized that she had a point. She wouldn't like it if some guy was begging her to go out on a date with him, that's for sure, so now, as a result of the point Aisha made, she begins to see things from Robby's point of view.
So, Tory looks Robby in the eyes, and says "Look, Robby, I'm sorry about the way I acted yesterday, but you had no right to yell at me and call me a bitch. That was really uncalled for."
"That's right, Robby." Commented Aisha. "You even made her cry."
And then, at that very moment, Robby started to feel bad about what he said to Tory the previous day. He thought about what he said, and realized it was uncalled for, and the fact that he made Tory cry made him feel even worse.
"Is that what I want to be? A guy who makes girls cry?" Robby thought to himself.
And then, Robby realized something else: He realized that Tory just apologized to him for her behavior the previous day, and the fact that she's taking some responsibility is very satisfying to him, and that it's time for him to return the favor.
"You girls are right." Confessed Robby. "Tory, I'm sorry for overreacting. It'll never happen again. I promise."
Tory smiled. She was happy to hear Robby apologize.
"Let's shake on it." Said Robby as he offered his hand to Tory so she could shake.
Tory gladly accepts Robby's handshake offer, and the two shake hands.
"Well, I guess this is all settled." Commented Aisha. "Let's go, Tory."
So, Aisha and Tory left the green room.
Author's Notes: Alright Everybody! I hope all of you enjoyed this chapter! I'll admit, this wasn't the most exciting chapter, but don't worry, because the next chapter will be called "Training Demetri", and it's gonna have some really funny stuff in it.
Anyway, as for the apology scene at the end of this chapter, that wasn't originally planned. I was originally going to have Robby and Tory apologize to each other in a future chapter, but I decided that it would be best to address the issue sooner rather than later, so I decided to include it at the end of this chapter.
Also, I went back and edited the facetime conversation between Aisha and Tory so Tory could tell the same story that she told Sam. After all, why would she be more honest about it with one person and not the other?
Also, speaking of editing, After I post this chapter, I'm gonna go back and edit out the whole "Miguel and Sam having sex at Miyagi's house" subplot from the Part I(and subsequently, all references to it throughout both stories) as soon as I get the chance because I've decided that whole subplot was rather forced and unneeded. Plus, a lot of people were not fans of it.
Also, I'm considering editing out Yasmine being Kyler's girlfriend before dating Robby, because Kyler and Yasmine were never confirmed to be a couple on the show, so I a part of me now finds that whole thing to be forced and unneeded, and I think it might be better if Yasmine were single before pairing up with Robby.
Anyway, I hope all of you enjoyed this chapter, and I hope you're all looking forward to the next chapter!
