Sam woke up next to Jack, confused for just a second, and then remembered the past 24 hours, in a blur. Her dad was in the guest room. She insisted Jack stay; besides, she had no other way to get to the SGC; her car was still there. Then she remembered Dad and Jack got drunk, Jacob drinking a lot more than Jack to get that way. They were giggling when Sam went to bed and doesn't remember Jack coming in.

Sam looked over at the clock and groaned. It felt like she could still sleep for about 4 more days before feeling right again.

She knew to avoid coffee because her heart rate was up yesterday. So she went in and some water and a bowl of cereal, leaving Jack to sleep in until the last minute.

Her dad walked into the kitchen and smiled.

"You feeling any better?" Jacob asked.

"Yeah, the jitters have gone now, I'm just tired," Sam explained.

"I'm on leave for the rest of the week, at least if not longer, I'll just be in the SGC for blood tests," Sam told him.

"Well, I'll be here," Jacob stated.

Jack came in 30 minutes later.

"Morning." He grumbled, Sam smiled.

"There is aspirin in my bathroom." Sam smiled.

"Well, at least the snakes good for something," Jack stated as he looked at Jacob, who looked smiley for his liking.

Sam snickered, and Jacob shook his head. He told Sel'mak not to take it personally.

Jack washed his face and scrubbed his, then took some aspirin and got dressed.

"Whenever you're ready, Sam," Jack stated.

"I'm ready," Sam claimed.

"I'll see you in a few hours," Sam told Jacob and left her dad alone.

Janet was reading over the test results, everything was unbalanced still, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday.

"It's going to take a few days, Sam, but your body is returning back to normal," Janet claimed.

Sam smiled.

"Teal'c has had his symbiote do most of the work he's already back to normal," Janet claimed.

"Is Jack able to stay with you a few more days?" Janet asked.

"Doesn't matter dad's home," Sam claimed.

Janet looked at her

"He knows," Sam claimed.

Janet frowned.

"How did that go over?" Janet asked.

"Well, they both got drunk last night, and the initial yelling was mainly because he thought that Jack was still my commanding officer," Sam claimed.

"So, all is well?" Janet asked.

"Guess so, dad wasn't too surprised," Sam claimed.

Janet smiled knowingly.

"So Jacob will be with you. I think it's alright for you to drive back home. Just be careful." Janet claimed.

Sam smiled.

"I will," Sam claimed.

Daniel saw Jack walk into his office.

Jack was nervously playing with his hands.

"Sam, okay," Daniel asked.

"Yeah, I think so," Jack claimed.

"Good,"

"I'm surprised you didn't stop by last night to check on her," Jack claimed.

"I knew you were staying with her, besides I didn't want to interrupt anything," Daniel stated.

"Yeah, well, we thought you were the knock at the door at 7 pm," Jack explained.

"Oh, well, who was it?" Daniel asked.

"Jacob," Jack claimed.

"Oh, OH! How did that go over?" Daniel asked.

"Better than I expected." Jack smiled.

"So, what did you talk about?" Daniel asked.

"Oh, you know the usual, that he'll kill me if I hurt her, that he just wants her happy, that he's happy for us, did I mention the death that is going to occur," Jack asked.

"Please, you love her, anyone whose with the two of you for more than five minutes can see it," Daniel claims.

Jack smiled.

"It's just damn it, Danny am I doing the right thing?" Jack asked.

"Jack," Daniel whined.

"I mean, she came in here eyes wide open, trying to prove to me she was good enough to go through the gate. It took one mission, Daniel, one to know that we'd work well together." Jack claimed.

Then there were so many things that happened early on, and I think Antarctica really locked it in for us." Jack stated.

Daniel smiled.

"Now that we can do this, it's like we sprinted for it. I have no clue what she wants." Jack claimed.

"You know she wants this relationship just as much as you do," Daniel claimed.

"No, I know that, but damn it, Daniel, I am 16 years older than her, I mean come on, I am already an old man, we haven't discussed anything, hell we've been on 2 dates, and I'm ready to put a ring on her finger," Jack stated.

Daniel laughed.

"You wanted too before the first one." Daniel laughed.

Jack smiled back at Daniel.

"That's not the point," Jack claimed.

"Shouldn't you be talking to Sam about all this?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah, but she's still off, and her dad is at home," Jack stated.

Daniel nodded his head.

"Jack, I think you guys will be fine. Just talk to her." Daniel claimed.

Jack simply nodded his head.

"Lunch?" Jack asked.

"Yeah." Daniel agreed.

They swung by the infirmary seeing Sam walking out the door and asked her to get lunch before she left.

"I never got to tell you Sam, Teal'c, and I was translating. I think your volcano theory was valid. There was talk about clouds that rained dust instead of water." Daniel explained.

The three of them ate, discussing the mission and how Sam was feeling. It was nice for Sam to hear that her theory was right.

Sam claimed that Janet had given her the all-clear to drive home, and Jack looked a little upset.

"It's not too far, I'll be fine, dad's home," Sam claimed.

"Yeah, I know, just be careful," Jack stated.

Sam smiled.

"Of course, I'll see you later," Sam stated.

Sam arrived home, her dad was catching up on the news. Sam smiled, glad her dad was back once again.

"So, you okay, Sam," Jacob asked.

"Getting there, Janet thinks I'll need few more days to get back to normal, but I'm okay, just a little tired, some weird feelings," Sam claimed.

Jacob looked at her.

"So, are you sure that this is the best idea, Sam?" Jacob asked.

Sam knew that Jacob was asking about her and Jack.

"Honestly, dad, I don't know. I know it's something we both want. I know that I'm happy about it." Sam smiled.

"Well, that's what I want to hear. I just don't want people to think something was going on before it was." Jacob claimed.

"Listen, dad, there has been talk about Jack and me since I can remember. It's not going to stop now, and I am sure as things progress, there will be an investigation. Jack and I haven't talked about it yet, but we both know what's coming." Sam claimed.

Jacob nodded his head.

"As long as it's worth it to you, Sam," Jacob said.

"He is, dad," Sam claimed.

Jacob smiled at his daughter, glad that she is allowing her personal life to take shape.

"So, will your boyfriend be joining us tonight?" Jacob joked.

Sam laughed.

"It wouldn't surprise me either way, he knows you're here, but he also knows my tests results aren't 100%, and although he doesn't like to admit it, he worries just as much as Daniel, he just tends to hide it a little bit more," Sam claimed.

Jacob shook his head, understanding where Jack came from. Being a commanding officer made you feel anxious and guilty anytime something went wrong. It wasn't helpful that a lot of times, the enemy could be anything, an illness, an alien, a wormhole malfunction.

Jacob watched as Sam picked up around the house, and Sam suggested a few things on TV that he or Sel'mak might be interested in.

Jacob flipped though the tv and laughed at how funny it was. One day he is a man dying of cancer. The next, he is a willing host to Sel'mak, traveling the galaxy in space ships. Now here was doing what almost every man in the United States did during time off flicked through the TV, wondering why it was being paid for if there was nothing on it.

Jacob had explained the TV to Sel'mak multiple times, but there was confusion between fiction and non-fiction still. When Jacob lands on the history channel, he explains what most humans believe is a fact, and what they know as fact.

The afternoon creeps by with Sam and Jacob talking.

It's a little after 5 pm when the doorbell rings, and it is Jack at her door.

Sam had convinced Jack to stay. Jacob didn't say anything about the situation. Jack could tell there was something more but waited until they were both in her room to say something.

"What is it, Sam, do I need to call Janet?" Jack asked.

"No, I just have a bad feeling," Sam claimed.

"Bad feeling?" Jack asked.

"It's probably nothing, Janet said I'd feel strange for a while," Sam claimed.

"Alright, but if you need me to do anything," Jack stated.

"I know Jack, goodnight," Sam claimed.

Sam wanted desperately for Jack to touch her, but with her dad in the next room over, and the ongoing medical issues, she thought it best for at least the next few days to show some restraint.

Jack had wrapped his arm around her and let Sam adjust it to where she was comfortable. She sighed in relief, suddenly noticing how tired she was and quickly fell asleep.

Jacob Carter heard horrific screams from his daughter and ran straight to the bedroom.

He was trying to assess the situation, but all he could see was Jack cradling his daughter, trying to get her to wake up.

Relief flooded him as he realized it had just been a nightmare.

But Jack looked worried as well when he couldn't get her to wake up right away.

"Carter!" Jack screamed.

Sam's body went rigid, and her eyes fluttered open.

"Are you alright?" Jack asked.

Sam looked around, confused for several seconds.

"Sam, are you okay?" Jacob asked.

It took Sam a few more seconds to realize she was at home in Jack's arms and both of Jack and her father looked overly concerned.

"What's going on?" Sam asked.

They both looked at her oddly.

"You scared the shit out of me, Sam, you must have had a horrible nightmare," Jacob explained.

Sam thought for a moment.

"I'm sorry, but I don't even remember it." Sam blushed.

"Well, whatever it was, I'm glad you didn't because it seemed like quite a scene," Jacob claimed.

"I'm sorry I woke you guys up," Sam claimed.

"Don't be, as long as you're okay," Jack stated.

Sam nodded.

Jacob turned back and went to the spare room.

"You sure you're okay?" Jack asked.

"I'm fine, I honestly don't remember it," Sam claimed.

"Should I take off? Is me here a problem?" Jack asked.

"Of course not, it probably has to do with my test results, but I can't guarantee it won't happen again.

Jack nodded.

"Let's get back to sleep," Jack stated.

Sam nodded her head, he turned over, and Sam wrapped her arms around him, but there was just something off about the rest of the night. She laid there still, waiting for Jack to fall asleep, wondering what she had dreamt.

A/N:Sorry I lied about putting one up Sunday, but I am about to post another tonight. This one is shorter too. I will say there is a lose thread with this chapter, the dream never really comes back up so it can be what ever you want it to be.
