Chapter 20

(KSI headquarters)

Several men working under Joshua Joyce were working on several robotic beings; and Joshua Joyce smirked as he oversaw the production of his newest creations.

"Soon we won't need those damn Autobots here; especially once Cemetery Wind finishes dispatching all of them." Joshua Joyce said as he saw the two recent bots brought in.

They were called Mudflap and Skids; but now they were just barely alive.

"O-Optimus w-will makes yous pay..." Skids said through static while Joshua Joyce just laughed.

"Whatever, okay you," Joshua said to one of the men. "Melt them down, now please." he ordered.

"T-Till all a-are o-one..." the twins whispered bravely facing death to save their fellow Autobots.

In another room, another being onlines his twisted body mutilated to form another being. His optics online an eerie purple; as he laughed and rose off the object which housed his vessel.

"I live...!" he roared his fingers flexing and looking rather razor sharp. "I will bring Optimus Prime to his knees!" the being shouted as he saw humans scatter like the insects they were under his feet.

(The Autobot/NEST base)

Three racing cars approached, Autobots Wreckers known as Leadfoot, Roadbuster and Topspin pulled up as a human got out of the one.

"My God, what happened here?" he said as he saw his best friend lying on the ground. "Lennox...!" he yelled as he ran to him.

By a stroke of luck, Lennox was alive barely.

"Buddy, come on hold on!"

"E-Epps..." Lennox whispered blood bubbled from his mouth.

"You're not dying on me, Lennox; you have a wife and kid you just snap out of this and LIVE Damn you!" Epps yelled. "Leadfoot, get your ass over her, right now!" Epps ordered.

"Do not order me about, fleshling," Leadfoot growled as he glanced down at Lennox and scanned him.

"Help me, please; he's my best friend I can't lose him." Epps said as Leadfoot gently picked up the human and transformed all around him.

"Let's go," Leadfoot said. "My name's not Leadfoot for nothing." he said as he raced to the nearest hospital to save Colonel Lennox.

"Hold up, Epps!" yelled Wheelie and Brains as they got into Leadfoot.

"What happened was this a Con attack?" Epps demanded.

"Naw man, it was humans they attacked Optimus and a human femme is with him protecting him." Wheelie said.

Wheelie and Brains proceeded to tell them everything about the four girls; and how they were strange and right away Epps didn't trust them.

"How do we know they aren't the cause of all this; and the one is with Prime, now?" Epps demanded. "We have to find boss bot ASAP!" Epps exclaimed.

(Where Optimus and Kathy are)

I glanced over at Optimus; when I heard a sound behind me. I was up so fast it shocked me as I was ready to use my gifts on whoever was behind me. I was determined to save Optimus Prime at any cost.

I stopped when I saw Vector Prime standing there I was relieved to see him.

"Vector how do I use this?" I asked him.

"You can only heal him slowly," he said as I stood there shocked.

"What, but he's in pain, Vector." I said.

"You will be able to heal him; you just must understand it will take longer to do so." Vector said.

I walked back toward Optimus when I heard groan in his recharge; and my heart went out to him.

"Will he still trust me?" I asked Vector.

Silence greeted me; as I turned toward Vector.

"He wants to trust you; but he is scared especially now." Vector said.

"I will kill anyone who tries to hurt him again; I will never allow this to happen again." I vowed.

Silence...

"Never," I repeated.

This being was a hero how dare they try to kill him; he is the protector of the innocent. I didn't even realize I was crying until Vector wiped them away.

I saw there were some energon cubes on the ground; and I looked at Vector who merely smiled.

"Primus chose well you are the guardian to the last Knight and last Prime." Vector said as I turned to face him.

"What about Sentinel Prime?" I asked.

"Everyone deserves a second chance, Kathleen, even the Decepticons; but all will take time." Vector said as he suddenly disappeared.

I turned toward the sound of Optimus moaning once more; as I hurried over and put my hand on a few areas where his energon lines were split up pretty badly. I watched in awe as his energon lines started to heal thanks to the Allspark bracelet.

I was startled to find Optimus had his optics online and he watched what I had done for him.

"T-Thank you," he said his tone sounded so broken though as he shook his head and tried to sit up.

"Be careful," I said softly.

He nodded.

He fell quiet then as he looked back at me.

"I-I was their ally; I-I do not understand. I-Is it because I am just a machine to them they believe I-I do not possess emotions or feelings. I-I feel I am capable of so much, but they do not believe that of my people, do they?" he asked.

"Optimus the ones who attacked you they are not worth your concern they will get theirs in the end." I said as I went to his face and ran my hand over his face.

"T-They said we did not belong here that we did not belong anywhere in the universe." Optimus said.

"You're a hero, Optimus and no one can take that away from you, no one." I replied as I went over to get him some energon.

"W-Where did you get energon from?" he asked me.

"Vector," was all I said as he drank some of the energon greedily.

Then he put the cube down; I had sat down on the ground when he laid back down. He suddenly had moved his servo out; his hand catching me as he pulled me closer against his body.

"I-It will get c-cold in the bottom of this cave; stay by me I will try to keep you warm. Y-You are my charge, I-I must guard you." he said softly his tiredness pulling him into recharge once more.

"If you only knew the truth," I said curling up against his body with a sad smile on my lips.
