Last week I had my check up, my arm is healing fine, I'm aloud to fly and have our medical papers for our new doctor in my suitcase, I don't need the trombone shots anymore, but I still need 4 weeks the cast.
Yugi misses the cats, poor kid, he got the cats when he came live here, they always gave him some kind of comfort, sometimes I'm a bit jealous because the affection he gives towards the cats.
But tell you the truth, I'm miss them also terrible.
Today we go to our sweethearts a flight with will last at least 4 till 5 hours.
We slept in a hotel near the airport, Yugi never went on a holiday before so that's the first mistake I made, I didn't prepare him enough.
The second was I didn't gave him calming pills at the start of the flight, the start went well, the flight also, but the landing, when we buckled up again Yugi got terribly scared, the turbulence was harder then usual.
I called mom to get a medical team ready, I somehow have the feeling Yugi is going to need it.
I couldn't get him calm and I saw him transform with the golden cat eyes, the so called red flag. Usually when he transforms fully his eyes stay his own colour.
After that everything went black for me...
Beep... "Sir we must act now!" a strange voice says in Arabic
Beep... "I'm so sorry A..." Yugi almost yells
Beep... "Please Atem..." mom says
What is that enjoying beep sound? I think while I feel soft lips touching my lips. "I love you Atem, I'm so sorry." Yugi says
Somethings wet falls on my cheek. "I need to go now, they arrest me because I attacked you, I'm so sorry Atem, but I'm probably not alive anymore when you wake up, if you ever wake up."
"Let's go, your five minutes are over!" A harsh voice says.
Arrest?... attacked?... alive? I think before my world turns black again
I feel something soft under me, my fingers feel stiff I feel like moving them.
"There is nothing more we can do, the board already decided, he already was given longer time because his status. We give you five minutes and then we pull out the plug!" I hear a strange hard voice in Arabic say.
Stupid fingers they still feel stiff, I move them again, meanwhile I hear a woman crying.
"Mom look! I hear Mana."
I try to open my eyes, and slowly they obey.
"He is waking up!" Mom says.
"So Yugi is safe?"
"Not yet, I want to hear Atem's story first!" Dad says.
"You didn't even hear out Yugi!" Mana retorts hard.
I blink with my eyes, first my sight is blurry, so I blink more. Then I see silhouettes around me, I try my best to see who they are. The first person I see is Mana, "Welcome back Atem, you gave us quite the scare." She says.
I try to say something but there is something blocking my mouth, it freaks me out, and getting in panic. "Shh shh, don't panic Atem, you have a breathing tube in your throat." Mom says while coming in sight.
Then I see my father, never have I seen him cry, never did he leave the throne if I needed to go to the hospital when I had a unsuccessful stunt, and now he is standing next to my bed and he is crying. "Welcome back son, you just saved your own life."
I see the three people I missed most when I still lived in Netherlands, but I miss my sweetie more and I don't see him, where is he? I let my eyes scan the room if a few doctors walk in. "It's time... Goodness he woke up! It's a miracle!"
Oh Ra damnit I think while them gathering around my bed, why can't they give me Yugi! They shoo my family out and start to check on me. "Heart rate stable and very strong!"
"Brainwaves normal!"
"Breathing looks like he is doing it on his own!"
"Goodness the blood from his ex partner did save him." I'm getting frustrated I want Yugi! And that stupid tube is preventing me from saying so, and why are they talking about my ex partner? Who do they mean!
After they checked me on of the doctors says. "He seems stronger then he was before, let's get the tube out." And he turns towards me. "We remove the breathing tube now and you get a small in your nose, don't worry it's a tube you can remove yourself."
I nod. When the tube is finally out they give me a bit water. Quickly I drink the small cub empty, a bid sad it is just a little cub, man I'm thirsty. "We sent your family back in, don't speak yet, your throat is irritated from the tube."
I nod and they walk out. When the door opens again I look with eagerness to the door, first mom steps in.
Then Mana steps in.
Then dad steps in.
And then the door stays close.
"Oh sweetheart, I was so worried about you." mom sobs. Mana gives me a hug, but she doesn't look happy, she looks sad, no mad! What the fuck? I want to see him, I want my sweetie, so against the advice from the doctor I open my mouth.
"Yu..." I clear my sore throat and try again.
"Yugi? Whe- where's Yugi." I stutter.
"But Atem, can't you remember? He attacked you!" My dad says in a hard voice.
"No-no he-he d-did no-not!" I bring out frustrated. "I-I-I love h-him." I take a breath ignore the pain and continue. "I-I-I want t-to s-see h-him, no-now!"
"But..."
"NOW!" I yell as loud as my throat allowed me to.
"Dad! Yugi is innocent like I told you, would he otherwise be so persisting! Let my brother in law go!"
"I don't know Mana, he attacked him." dad says.
Mom gives me a whiteboard and a pen. "Write sweetheart that's better for you throat."
So that's what I do, it goes not that simple because my hand is bandaged up, and still has the ivy in it.
Yugi is innocent, I made the mistake of not giving him calming pills and prepare him for the trip, the fact he changed in tiger is my fault.
I hold up the board.
When everybody read it I while mom cleans it and I write again.
When Yugi turns into tiger he is out of his emotions he isn't in his right mind! Don't punish him, please father, bring me my sweetie, my love, my fiancé.
With tears in my eyes I hold up the board again.
"But Atem He attacked you!"
Frustrated I circle the first line. I show him again.
Then mom whipes it clean again, and I write again.
You told me once, you can't punish someone who feels himself drifted in a corner, they act on surviving! Yugi did the same! He was scared like shit, so he started to survive!
I hold up the board.
When they read it mom cleans it again.
Please daddy, I'm begging you, if I didn't have to lay here I would crawl, give me my Yugi back?????
"Aknankanon, can't you see the love your son has for Yugi? He never called you daddy, not even when he was a toddler."
"Daddy please, set Yugi free." Mana begs
"But Atem was in a coma for six months! Today I almost lost him! Because that kid attacked him!"
"And not only had you almost lost your son today! but if you are so stubborn that you let your feelings speak, then look towards the feelings of your son! He forgives Yugi! He knows Yugi didn't do it on purpose! And if you kill the boy A innocent boy, then you are going to be a very lonely pharaoh! Did I make myself clear!"
Never have I seen mom so angry, she is willing to give her wealth up for my Yugi?
"Very well, I inform the guards that they can bring him over." dad says while walking out.
He doesn't come back, maybe he needs a moment alone.
I look at mom.
What happened? Six months?
"Yes sweetheart, the two of you flew over here six months ago, you called before you landed to call a medical team to get ready because Yugi probably needed it. After the two of you landed Yugi was in a corner of the yet, blood all over him extremely scared and above all confused he could not remember what happened. You lay in another corner your stomach was ripped open, you lost a great amount of blood, and was barley alive."
"Your father seized Yugi without even questioning him, you where drove of to the hospital and needed immediately surgery. However your blood type they didn't have in the hospital, they figured out Yugi has the same blood type as you and they took two pints from him, the surgery went well, but the trauma putted you in coma. Yugi got the chance of visiting you before he was arrested."
I hold up my hand and start to write.
Two pints? But Yugi always fights if he sees a needle!
"I think he was to tired, scared and confused to fight, he all let it happen without a fight."
Mom what if he is to weak now?
"I make sure he gets medical treatment sweetheart, but there is something you must know." I look up confused and fear they had to change me in a woman in other to save my life.
What is it mom? I'm still Male am I?
She starts laughing, yes sweetheart you are still male
Off, that's a relief, what did change then mom?
"Because you were given blood from Yugi, they think you inherited Yugi's Neko gen as well."
And that's bad why?
"You okay with it?"
I nod. I hoop I look just as adorable as Yugi does.
Mom laughs, "If you get his Neko parts then you indeed are a cute Neko as well."
Mom, do I have a fever?
She lays her hand on my head, "No sweetheart you don't why?"
My cheeks feel to hot for comfort.
A knock on the door, and mom calls them in. Two guards enter the room, they bow before mom, next Mana and finally me. "My prince, it's good to see you alive." one of them says.
I nod. "Rise!" mom says. "Did you bring Yugi!"
"Yes we did my queen." He pulled at the chain he is holding, and a boy I almost cannot recognize walks in. Both his wrists and ankles are chained, he looks very thin, to thin, his clothes are filthy and torned I nearly recognize the blue fabric from his Jean's, and the white tiger on his favourite shirt, his hair is a complete disaster, the boy doesn't look up. Even if he is a prisoner, they must allow him clean clothes and a shower, I think mad and I nod towards mom.
"Look up Yugi." she orders. Yugi shakes his head in a no.
"Sweetheart please look up." Again a shake.
"Take those chains off, he is set free!" mom says impatiently.
"But my queen?"
"No buts, he goes free in order of prince Atem! Then I want you out and call a doctor!"
"Yes my queen, my prince."
He un chains Yugi and walk out. Mana runs towards Yugi, she starts to whisper with him and takes him in a hug, I see tears falling on his cheeks, I hold up my arms and Mana sees what I want, she guides him over and mom and Mana pick him up and lay him in my arms.
Immediately he lays his head against my chest and I feel the hospital dress getting wet. Softly I pet him and let him cry.
If I feel his sobs getting less, I cub his face in my hand and force him to look at me, dullness in his eyes, big dark circles under them, he looks very pale and I can feel his ribs.
"Hey sweetie." I whisper, "Don't worry, you are free now."
"But I almost killed you."
"But you didn't sweetie, you acted in fear, and that's why I forgive you."
"Are you really alive?"
I take his hand and guide it towards my heart. "Feel sweetie." I say softly.
He feels my heartbeat, slowly he brings his hand to my mouth, I blow softly so he feels I'm breathing, and then he lays his hand on my face to feel my warm skin.
He starts to tear up again, trying holding them in. "No sweetie, let them out, I can't even imagine what you experienced so you are aloud to cry."
He buries his head in my chest and cries, never heard I cry him this loud, it must have been a horrible experience for him, mom helps me lay my arms around him.
After a full hour I hear his crying slow down, he only sobs a bit.
"Feel better now?" I ask. Softly still having a painful throat.
"Yeah, you have a beard now, but I like your smooth skin." He says.
"So do I, it's to hot for it." I whisper.
"We ask a nurse if she could shave that off sweetheart." Mom says.
A doctor walks in. "I'm sorry it took me so long, there was an emergency in between, You called me my queen?"
"Yes, I want you to see if the boy is healthy, give him the same care you are giving my son, and I want a second bed in this room there is no way I run from room to room to visit them! And let someone shave that terrible thing of my sons face! Mana I want you to stay with Yugi."
"Yes my queen, young man, please let me investigate you?" He asks Yugi, he looks terrified towards me.
"Mana stays with you sweetie, if you come back I'm here, or they are cleaning my face." I whisper.
Mana helps Yugi in a wheelchair and walks out with him and the doctor.
An hour later a nurse returns, Yugi lays in a bed, he has a nutrition bag, and another bag is dripping in a ivy, when he is installed they turn towards mom.
"He has severe underweight, a few infected wounds, fever, and is extremely exhausted, he needs to stay until he is out the danger zone with his weight, and until the infections are healed properly."
"Okay, and further?"
"We bathed him because he was dirty and stunk badly, the nods are out his hair, thanks to Mana, she helped me, his clothes we threw them away, my queen."
I look over to the bed and see Yugi, he looks indeed clean, but so pale, and thin.
"He is sleeps now, after the bathing he fell asleep." The nurse says.
"My prince, it's your turn for bathing now." I nod, I am to tired to go against it, and they probably bathed me when I was in coma.
They are very sweet to me, but I miss the touch from Yugi. The hot water does miracles with my muscles, and when I'm relaxing the nurse is shaving of the beard. Thanks Ra, the cool air against my cheeks feels really nice. Softly I hum.
"You look content my prince. Feels good?"
"Yes it does, that beard was really warm, and my muscles don't feel so stiff anymore."
"But still, I have the feeling you miss something."
I nod, "Please I want back to my room, I want to be with Yugi."
"I understand, come one my prince."
"What's your name? Sorry you look so familiar but I don't know from where?"
"It's not strange you don't recognize me, you've only seen me once when I married your brother, I'm Kisara."
"My brother has a date?"
"Actually we are married my prince, and with that I also did adopt Simi as my own daughter."
Now I know for sure my brother is in love with this girl, children born in the castle always stay unnamed for the outside world until they reach their teen years. Unless you are the pharaoh's first born.
While she dries me off with a towel I ask her how she met Seth.
"By Simi my prince, she was terribly ill and I was her nurse, he walked in with her completely lost. He ordered only one nurse to take care of her and he somehow trusted me. When she was better he asked me out, that must been a year before you came home, when you came home last time we got married."
"So you met Heba also?"
"I helped him deliver, your sister was to far in labour to go to the hospital." She says with a smile.
"And I also knew from the start you are gay my prince, so with my help I could convince Seth and your father to let him stay on the throne."
"Thank you Kisara, please call me Atem, we are family after all."
"Thank you Atem."
"But if you are the crown prince his wife, why do you keep working?"
"Because I love my job Atem, I never could give it up. But you are tired my prince, go sleep I'll bring you back and when you wake up you see Yugi."
"Thank you..."
