Three weeks.
She and Dabi had only been training for three weeks yet already she could feel the difference in herself.
Her quirk was no longer wild and untamed like it had been. There was a refined feeling to the shards she could create now. Plus it'd gotten much easier to control the amount of time she could hold them for before the burden would become too much for her body.
"Good, now show me that technique you've been working on!" Dabi called out to her.
She splayed her palm. Her eyes narrowed into thin slits as she focused her attention on her target.
"Shatter!"
The coral-colored crystals burst apart in an array of shattering glass.
The sharp needle-like shards buried themselves deep within the husk of the felled tree they'd cut down earlier. The wood splintered and cracked—sending thousands of tiny splints through the air.
Kagome breathed deeply through her nose.
"Not bad, kid. You're getting better." Dabi stepped close to her. "I'd say that you can probably handle your own in a fight now."
It was an endorsement of her newfound abilities.
Where Aizawa focused solely on her hand-to-hand combat skills, Dabi had trained her on how to use her quirk effectively. In the few short weeks she'd already become much stronger.
It was inspiring on some level.
The young woman flashed him a grin, "Think I can take you on now?"
His lips curved into a confident smirk, "I'd like to see you try."
Dabi held his left arm out as azure flames billowed around his wrist and palm. She sank down low and allowed shards to form over her arms.
Regardless of what anyone thought, she was going to get stronger. She'd make damn sure of it.
