It had been over a week, and she still wasn't speaking to Jon, to the point she wasn't sure where he even was.
Westlyn stood in the middle of their home gym and stared at herself in the mirror as she twisted her hair into a bun on top of her head. Her morning workout wasn't doing what she needed it to; she needed her mind clear enough to think things threw right now. The whole situation was driving her absolutely psychotic. Delilah bounced happily in her walker as she watched her mother, while Brynn practiced tumbling on the other side of the gym where they had set her up and whole section to work on her cheerleading. Westlyn smiled at her little girl and made kissy faces are her, "mama loves you little babe." Delilah grinned a drooly toothy grin at her, "wub ew!" Westlyn broke into a grin, "yeah baby, wub ew." "Mom! Watch this!" She turned to see Brynn start a tumble pass only for the little girl to move wrong and come down hard on her arm, followed by a scream and tears. Westlyn ran over to her and scooped her up quickly, "oh no babe." She looked at her arm and saw it already bruising. "Looks like we're hospital bound baby."
Sitting in the hospital room with Delilah tucked into her chest in her baby sling and Brynn back in X-ray she sighed as she tried to call Jon... again. Finally he picked up, "Hello?" "Where the fuck are you?" She hissed into the phone, "I just got back to my truck, I was running the trials. What's wrong?" "I'm at the hospital-" "Is the baby okay?" "Baby's fine, it's Brynn." She heard Jon suck in a breath and the truck crank and take off, "what happened?" "She messed up a tumbling pass, looks like she broke her arm." "I'm on my way." The phone clicked and she tossed it into her bag. 20 minutes later Jon came into the room with a look of panic on his face; Brynn was sitting on the table getting her arm wrapped. "My little girl", he said sadly walking over to stand beside her, "this your dad?" The doctor asked Brynn giving her a wink, "That's What I've been told", Brynn cracked jokingly causing Westlyn to choke on the water she was drinking and it come out her nose, Jon looked at her wide eyed and then at Westlyn, "she gets that from YOU." Westlyn shrugged and chuckled, "she's a born smartalic, Doc." The doctor laughed as he finished wrapping her arm in the requested purple tape, "The best ones are", he smiled, "you're all set Miss.Good, mom I'm going to have the nurses send everything over to the orthopedic office that we work with and they'll be in contact to set up a follow up for her; and I'll have the nurse bring in her discharge papers. " "Sounds great Dr.Gaines." Westlyn grabbed her bag and stood up carefully with Delilah, "can we go get ice cream?" Brynn sweetly asked Jon, "of course we can." "So you take B for ice cream and I'll take Delilah home", Westlyn said adjusting her bag on her shoulder, "Why can't we go as a family?" Jon prodded, "Because Delilah needs to go home and I need to cook dinner", she said sickly sweet to him narrowing her eyes, "We can just pick up a pizza after ice cream, how bout it kid?" Brynn nodded excitedly, The nurse came in and handed her the papers so they could leave; "Fine, I'll see you at home then Jon." Westlyn placed a kiss on her eldest child's forehead, "love you little." "Love you more mommy."
Later that night after the girls were tucked in tight Westlyn sat out back with her feet dangling into the pool as she looked up at the stars. "Wes, can we talk now?" Jon asked coming out and sitting down beside her with his back to the water. "I still don't have anything to say to you", she snapped shooting him a glare, "Well then I'll talk", he grunted, "DNA test results will be here in a few days, and I want you to know regardless of the outcome I'm sorry I've fucked up again and I don't want to lose you." Westlyn scoffed to herself and rolled her eyes, "I know you hate me and probably won't forgive me if it is mine, but I love you so much." Westlyn shot her head around to look at him, "This baby isn't yours." Jon's eyes went wide as he stared at her mouth agape, "That sick feeing you're feeling? That's what I felt when when I heard her baby is probably yours." "Wait, so this is my baby?" He asked gesturing to her stomach, "Yes stupid. I'm not you." Jon dropped his head, "I deserve that." Westlyn stood up and stared down at him, "you better pray it's someone else Jon, because so help me if it's yours all your shit will be sent back to Vegas faster than you can fuck something up- which is real fast for you here lately."
Jon watched her walk back into the house and sighed. He knew he had screwed up, he saw it every time she looked at him. Those eyes held nothing but hurt and disappointment towards him; he couldn't do right by her to save his life it seemed. Every insult and mean things she threw at him he could take, he was use to her mouth when she was angry and hurt. It was the possibility that he was going to lose his whole family that he couldn't take. He looked up at sky and whispered into the dark, "Lord, a little help please?"
Three days later they sat together in their home office on a zoom call with the lawyers, the doctor and Renee. "Well, are we ready to hear the results?" The doctor asked breaking the silence between everyone, "we're ready", Jon's lawyer said nodding, "as are we." The doctor nodded and help up a piece of paper and began to read, "The DNA results say that Jon Good is NOT the father with a 0.00% DNA match." Jon let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, "oh thank God." Westlyn took a deep sigh of relief, but went wide eyed as another peson entered into the call. "Corey?!" Staring back at them was Corey Graves. "Holy shit", Jon mumbled as Corey made an uncomfortable face, "I guess I joined too soon." "Are you?" Westlyn awkwardly pointed to where Renee was on her screen, "Here to find that out." "What about Mella?" She asked nosily, "threesome gone wrong", he shrugged causing Jon to giggle. "COREY!" Renee screeched, "and on that we'll be going. Thank you Doctor!" Westlyn quickly ended the call and looked over at Jon before they both bursted into laughter. Once they calmed down Jon reached over and took her hand, "can we fix this now?" Westlyn sighed and looked from their hands to his eyes, "one day at a time. I'll call the counselor." He nodded I'm agreement, "I love you Wes, I'm sorry."
