It was cold, it was wet, and Sunny was very, very upset.

Strong arms pulled her back above the water almost as soon as she'd gone under, and she took a loud heave of air as soon as she broke the surface.

Bakugo was covered in fine nail scratches, the pool water stinging at the papercut-style wounds and making them burn an angry red and throb painfully. But he held Sunny tight as she continued to thrash and yowl, trying desperately to push away from him.

"Man, that was so cruel," Sero's voice came from the far end of the pool, sitting on the steps and watching the scene unfold with sympathetic eyes.

"She needs to learn," Bakugo grunted, dodging a swing as Sunny continued to grab at him, "What sort of hero doesn't know how to swim?"

"Me!" Sunny cried out, tears mixing with the droplets trailing down her face from her wet hair, "I'm that hero!"

Fortunately for Bakugo, Sunny's punches and kicks were dulled and muted by the resistance of the water, and her distress made her attacks sloppy and broken so they weren't half as bad as they otherwise would be. He was trying to hold her to him, but it was more at an arm's length to avoid her strikes as he ducked and dodged her.

"Stop being such a baby!" He hissed angrily at her, watching her face smoosh right up as she let out a long wail.

Suddenly, she got him. Her wild kicks finally made painful contact with his groin and with an 'oof!' he dropped her.

She fell back into the water, splashing around and coughing. She cried out again, struggling to keep her head above water.

"Actually, you're worse than a baby!" Bakugo shouted, trying to grab her again with one hand while the other cupped himself. He missed when Sunny managed to flop herself onto her front. "At least babies know how to float!" He lunged for her again, but one of her flapping feet connected with his jaw with a crack.

Sunny continued to pine as she doggy paddled around Bakugo like drunk, demented shark. Her fluffy tail trailing behind her, just floating above the water. She splashed around so much it was hard to work out what was her and what was foaming water.

Kaminari finally stepped forward, reaching for Sunny as she slowly padded towards him, looking for land. She met him and clambered onto him, securing her legs around his waist as he stood hip deep in the water. She held her arms around his neck so tightly Denki stuck his tongue out in a gasp for air. Regardless, he patted her back reassuringly and cooed to her like a baby.

Sunny continued to howl over his shoulder, looking like a wet mop with her drench creamy hair and tail.

Bakugo took a glance down at himself, hissing at all the rips in his shirt from Sunny's frantic scratches. He pulled it off over his head and tossed it towards the pools edge, raising his fingers and gently dabbing at the lightly bleeding marks. He hissed again as the cuts pulsated at the irritation.

"That serves you right!" Denki pointed an accusing finger at Bakugo, hoisting Sunny up higher when she began to slip. It was evident she was a little too heavy for him as he staggered in the water slightly, trying desperately to keep her above the surface.

Bakugo rolled his eyes, and Mina piped up with a, "Yeah! That's no way to treat your girlfriend!"

"She's not my girlfriend!" He shot back angrily, moving towards Denki, "Give her back."

"I'm not surprised!" Mina continued, "I wouldn't want to be your girlfriend either if you threw me into a pit of something I was scared of!"

"She's not scared of water, you idiots. She just doesn't know how to swim!"

Denki pulled Sunny back from Bakugo, "Are you blind?" He snapped boldly, making the taller blond halt, "She's shitting herself, dude! She's petrified!"

Bakugo scowled, watching Sunny hanging over Denki's shoulder. She'd stopped crying now but was still scrambling over the yellow-haired boys back, reaching towards the pools edge with desperate arms.

"Give her back," Bakugo muttered again through gritted teeth.

Kaminari shook his head, twisting Sunny away from Bakugo as he neared. Unfortunately, this pulled Sunny further away from the poolside and she whimpered sadly.

"Stop babying her!" Bakugo snapped, "She needs to learn how to swim, dammit. It's not that goddamn hard!"

Denki watched Bakugo with a suspicious gaze, but he gently bobbed Sunny on his hip to get her attention. She turned her head towards him, and Bakugo's heart hit the pool floor. Her face was heart-breaking to look at, not only was it all weepy and sad, it was also blotchy and red. Her eyes had flared up angrily from the chlorine getting in them, making them look extra mawkish and irritated.

She wiped her nose with the back of her hand.

"Come on Sunny," Kaminari spoke softly to her, "Bakugo's right, you need to learn how to swim. How about we do it now?"

Sunny didn't say anything, her eyes just trailed to Bakugo. Her face was expressionless, and her large, red eyes were unreadable.

"Yeah, Sunny!" Kirishima joined in, splashing over to them from where he was sat quietly with Mina and Sero on the steps, "What's a better way to be taught something than with people who care about you and want you to do well?"

Sunny hid her face in the crook of Kaminari's neck again.

"Just drop her, dunce face," Bakugo barked, growing more and more irritable as he watched Kaminari sooth his girl. It didn't even occur to him that he was the reason she needed soothing in the first place. He continued, "She'll learn how to swim quickly that way."

"No!" Both Kirishima and Kaminari snapped back, leaving Bakugo taken aback again. But his surprised quickly turned to annoyance.

Kirishima quickly put up his hands defensively, "I think we should try a more encouraging approach," He then turned to Sunny and took a couple of steps back, smiling reassuringly with his spiky teeth, "Come on, Sugawara. See if you can swim to me, I bet you can! Easy, right?"

Sunny didn't move.

Bakugo ducked one of his hands underwater and let off a small(ish) explosion. The sudden noise and aggressive splash made everyone jump, including Sunny who was particularly on edge. She leapt from Denki's arms, flapping through the water towards Kirishima who immediately opened his arms for her.

Kirishima grabbed her and pulled her upright when she got to him, and immediately everyone (except Bakugo) cheered enthusiastically.

"Way to go, Sunny!"

"You did it, babe!"

Sunny offered Kirishima a wobbly smile.

Kaminari took a few steps back himself, heading slightly deeper into the water, "Now, Sunny, let's see if you can swim back?"

Sunny turned to Denki, watching him suspiciously and blinking her irritated eyes frantically. She raised a fist to rub at them, but Kirishima quickly caught her wrist and pulled her hand away, warning her that she would only make it worse.

Bakugo watched from the sidelines, growing more and more annoyed. He crossed his arms over his chest with a huff when Sunny slowly lowered herself back into the water from Kirishima's body.

With more confidence, this time, she doggy paddled towards Kaminari. She kept her head above the water better, with the occasional wave coming up to splash into her nose. Her ears were still pressed flat in upset, but she wore a more determined look on her face with furrowed brows and pursed lips.

She grabbed onto Kaminari, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as he now stood chest-deep in the water. Being a bit more than half a foot shorter than Denki, Sunny struggled to dread water next to him, hanging onto his shoulders to support herself and keep her head above the surface. Denki held onto Sunny's hips below the water to support her.

That was enough for Bakugo.

"All right, grubby mitts off her." He barked, wading towards Denki, "Sunny, come here."

He stopped a few feet from them and held out a hand for Sunny to take. She looked at him, her large eyes trailing up and down him, from his angry-looking face to his wet palm.

"No." She decided, tightening her hold on Kaminari, and pulling herself up further onto the boy.

Bakugo fumed, her white tunic dress had become see-through and her baby blue bra was now very obvious. And to top it all off, she was now plastered up against Kaminari like butter on toast.

"Sunny…" Bakugo growled warningly, hand twitching in the air as angry, soggy little explosions emitted from his palm.

"Well, that's not very inviting, is it?" Mina called from the poolside.

"Shut it, racoon eyes!" Bakugo barked back.

Sunny scowled, watching Bakugo spit fire at their friends. Sometimes it was acceptable because he didn't mean it, and as long as they didn't mind then it didn't matter. But Mina jumped a little at his words, and she didn't like the idea of her friends getting attacked just because they were sticking up for her.

"Apologise," Sunny snapped, grabbing Bakugo's attention back to her.

"What?" He seethed, eyes turning white.

"Apologise to Mina, that was rude. And then apologise to me," she continued with a 'hmph!' "And then apologise to Denki, too, for calling him dunce face."

Kaminari panicked from between Sunny's arms, "There's no need for that! I didn't even notice, I-" He abruptly stopped when Sunny shot him a real stinky look.

"No fucking way am I apologising to you idiots." He muttered, his hand still out.

"Fine then." Sunny concluded quickly, becoming more annoyed than afraid, "get out."

There was a pause where everyone went silent.

"What?" Bakugo deadpanned.

"You heard me," Sunny replied flatly, her gaze stern. Her face was still all blotchy and her eyes were still red from the chlorine, but her expression was unwavering, "If you're going to be a cunt, I want you to leave. Get out."

Bakugo bristled, and Kaminari slowly sunk into the water, wanting to escape from the firing line.

"Woah, Sunny, you don't mean that," Kirishima stepped in, quickly wadding towards them.

"I do." Sunny cut in harshly, eyes still glued to Katsuki, "If you're not going to apologise, Bakugo, get the fuck out."

Bakugo recoiled from her use of his surname. She made it sound like the word left a nasty taste in her mouth, and the facial expression she pulled when it fell from her lips was pure disdain.

After a brief pause, Bakugo shoved his hands into his pockets under the water, "Fine." He barked, turning towards the steps where Mina and Sero still sat. He took a few paces forward, "I'm sorry for calling you racoon eyes," and then he turned to Denki, "and for calling you dunce face."

Everyone's, except Sunny's, jaws dropped.

It wasn't exactly the most regretfully sounding of apologies, but it was clear and assertive, and he didn't sound totally sarcastic or embarrassed. Even if he didn't mean it, the fact he said it at all was a breakthrough.

"And I'm sorry for pushing you in the pool," He told Sunny, "Even if you do need to learn how to swim, there were better ways to have done that."

Everyone was silent for a long few moments.

"I was not expecting that," Sero muttered to Mina as they watched Sunny stare Bakugo down.

"I know," Mina whispered back, "I could have sworn he was just going to turn and leave."

Suddenly, Sunny grinned brightly, pushing herself off Kaminari and splashing her way towards Bakugo eagerly.

Bakugo was expressionless as he opened his arms out to the girl, stooping a little to scoop her up once she'd reached him. Sunny secured her arms and legs around him as he hoisted her higher onto his waist.

Bakugo didn't care that everyone was watching him in absolute horror at his almost genuine apology. He didn't give a damn. He didn't apologise for them.

He looked up at Sunny as she grinned happily down at him, her bloodshot eyes twinkling joyously.

"Good boy!" She exclaimed brightly, cupping his jaw and planting several loud kisses across his face.

Bakugo screwed his face up as she continued, but he didn't fight her off. He bit the insides of his cheeks to pull back a smile.

"Dude," Kaminari whispered as he waded towards Kirishima, "He's totally whipped."

Both boys screeched loudly when Bakugo shot them a laser-like death glare from around Sunny.

Receiving Sunny's praise was like being showered with gold to him. Being a prideful man, glory and admiration was highly ranked on his emotional needs, although he didn't appreciate the actual people that fed his ego, he still needed it for self-value. However, Sunny's approval was hard to obtain and even harder to keep, but once he got it, fuck, it was like a drug. Goddamn euphoria.

"One more, Sunny, one more," Kirishima called from his end of the pool, he waved his arms above his head and grinned encouragingly.

It had maybe been a little over an hour, and Sunny was now at the point of swimming lengths back and forth in the pool. Her doggy paddling had been upgraded to a sloppy breaststroke, but she still couldn't get the rhythm right with her legs and arms kicking out randomly.

Sunny blinked slowly from in Bakugo's arms. She was exhausted, and the morning sun was turning into midday sun – the perfect sun for napping in. Her head dropped against Bakugo's hard chest for a moment, but he quickly bounced her back off.

"Oi," He grunted, looking down at her, "One more."

"Noooo~" She wailed, going to rub her sore eyes again but Bakugo slapped her hand away.

"One more." He pushed her off him, leaving her stranded and without much choice than to head for Kirishima. Slowly and wearily she splashed towards him as he eagerly called for her.

Finally, she reached him, but as she made a grasp for him, Bakugo pushed him out the way and met her outstretched arms with his own and pulled her against his chest. Apparently, he had leisurely walked up the side of the pool faster than she had swum.

"You're like a big baby," He muttered as he waded towards the pool steps, Sunny still hoisted around his waist.

"Yeah," She cooed, "But I'm your baby."

"Shut up."

He pulled himself out the pool effortlessly despite the damp cat-girl strapped to his chest and dropped her on a sunbed nearby.

"I'll get you a towel," He grunted. Sunny heard his squelching footsteps fade out as he walked away, but her eyes were already closed as she lounged herself in the sun.

There was a plop next to her legs a few seconds later, and Sunny cracked an eye open to spy an ecstatic looking Mina clapping her fists together excitedly.

"I can't believe you made him apologise," She whisper shouted, looking around quickly to make sure Bakugo wasn't in earshot, "You have him wrapped around your finger! I'm totally living for it." She bobbed her head approvingly.

"He's a big softie really," Sunny mewed, stretching out, "Just don't tell him I said that." Her eyes twinkled at Mina as she mimed zipping her lips.

"He's so totally into you," She continued to gush, "It's so sweet seeing him around you, he's totally different."

Sunny's smile faltered, "It's just a novelty, it'll wear off."

"Wait, what do you mean?"

Sunny sat up on her elbows a little, squinting slightly in the sunlight, "Because it's all about the chase, right? Especially with someone like Katsuki. He doesn't exactly strike me as the commitment type, don't you agree?" For a moment, Sunny thought about last night, and how sweet and shaken up he had so blatantly been. A lonely part of her wished all of that wasn't just flippant emotions, but years of emotional torture reminded her to know better.

For guys like Bakugo, the passion was for the hunt, not the kill, right?

Everyone wants what they can't have, especially someone as determined and prideful as Bakugo. What will happen when he actually has her? Will he just get bored?

Sunny was well aware that took a darker turn than she had intended it to, and Mina saw that too. She cocked her head to the side and opened her mouth to say something but a towel coming tumbling through the air and sprawling over the pair of them announced Bakugo's return.

Sunny immediately wrapped herself up in the fluffy towel, purring gleefully and ignoring Mina's concerned gaze.

"Hey, guys!" Kaminari called from the balcony doors, Sero was behind him smiling just as wickedly. Both boys were holding small, yellow pudding cups and a few plates.

"Look what we found!" Sero continued, making his way over to the outdoor table.

"Pudding?" Kirishima enquired, confused. He was already sitting at the table where Bakugo had also just taken a seat on the other side. Sero bumped in next to him, much to the blond's annoyance.

Mina and Sunny shared a shrug and headed over to join them just as the pudding cups and plates were distributed.

"I didn't even realise I had these," Sunny said picking one up and checking it over, "Are they in date?"

"Yep!" Denki exclaimed, plopping himself down next to Kirishima, "They last forever, it's fine."

"They're just all sugar, that's why," Bakugo muttered, also picking up one of the pudding cups. They were the crème caramel custard-style puddings, the little yellow, wobbly desserts with watery caramel sauce over the top. To open them, you removed the top film lid, put them upside down on a plate and then pulled off the sticky tab at the bottom of the pot, which would break the suction and release the pudding and the sauce.

"Calm down, fun police," Denki quipped back to Bakugo, pulling off the lid of his and dumping it upside down on the plate, "We're playing a game."

Mina squealed with delight, "I've seen this online – I've been desperate to try it!"

"Oh no…" Kirishima muttered, looking sceptically at Denki's dessert as slid out the plastic cup and onto his plate with a cringeworthy 'sluuuuuurp', "Don't tell me this is that no hands, thing?"

"What no hands thing?" Bakugo grunted, watching with an unpleasant expression as Mina and Sero both unsheathed their puddings. Mina then turned to Sunny to help her as she was obviously struggling with the film lid.

"You've got to eat it with no hands, like suck it up," Kaminari replied, pulling Bakugo's pudding cup and plate towards him to do his for him. He made light work of it and pushed it back.

"Wait! Let me get my phone!" Mina exclaimed, quickly disappearing.

"I'm so excited for this," Sero cackled, rubbing his hands together.

Meanwhile, Kirishima just sadly prodded at his dessert with his finger, "I'm not sure if I want to do this."

"You have to," Mina replied as she returned, "We will all do it, it'll be fun!"

Bakugo still didn't understand what was happening, or what they were talking about. But he watched Sunny as her face looked as confused as he felt, she looked from between her friends and then back down at the sad-looking dessert on her plate. He found so much entertainment in watching her, she was like a cartoon character with constant, stupid expressions.

"Kaminari, you go first," Mina grinned excitedly, holding her phone up to record, "This is being sent to everyone so look pretty~"

Without saying another word, Denki leant down and opened his mouth. Suddenly, he sucked around the pudding and it went disappearing into his mouth. Immediately he gagged and choked, projectile regurgitating the dessert back out his mouth in an instant. It skimmed across his plate and smeared across the glossy table surface.

There was silence for a moment, but then everyone erupted into laughter – except Bakugo.

"That's fucking disgusting," He barked, folding his arms across his still bare chest, a towel hanging loosely around his neck. He pulled an unimpressed expression, "Do you have no fucking respect for Sugawara's stuff?"

"Oh, come on, grumpy," Sunny laughed, "That's funny!"

"It's not." He countered but was interrupted by Kirishima.

"My go!" The redhead called loudly, obviously forgetting about his previous reservations. He followed in Denki's footsteps, inhaling the pudding, and immediately gagging and spitting it back up. His dessert got caught on his sharp teeth and became a mound of yellowy-brown chunklets on his plate.

Mina gagged loudly, and Kaminari nearly laughed himself off the bench.

"Sunny, you go next!"

Sunny nodded excitedly, bobbing down sucking at the dessert. It flew into her mouth, but nothing happened.

She sat up, and swallowed thickly, "Awh, man, I just ate it."

"You didn't vomit," Mina pouted from behind her phone, "How disappointing."

"Like a champ, Suga!" Sero commended her, smacking her on the back heavily. Sunny gagged and held her hand up to her face quickly, cradling her nose.

"Some caramel just came out my nose," She whimpered.

"No gag reflex," Kaminari nodded slowly, "Nice one, aye, Bakugo?" He winked in Katsuki's direction, but his smug expression quickly fell upon seeing Bakugo's fuming face and angrily pulsating forehead vein.

"My turn!" Mina sung, chucking Kaminari her phone to film and swooping down to inhale the dessert next. She didn't gag immediately, but she coughed and a large chunk of it came out her nose.

Both Denki and Sunny fell off their chairs from laughing so hard.

"This is fucking dumb," Bakugo announced, still unimpressed.

"You have to admit, it is kind of funny!" Kirishima pressed from next to him, grinning brightly.

"It's not."

"You go next, Bakugo," Sero laughed from his side of the table.

"No."

"All right, I'll go and then you go."

Bakugo didn't reply, but he watched just as unimpressed as ever as Sero took his turn. Much like Kaminari and Kirishima, he quickly regurgitated it whole.

"Try again," Mina said, pointing to the near-perfect pudding sitting upside down on his plate, phone back filming in the other hand.

Sero looked shaken, "I'm not putting that back in my mouth."

"That's what she said," Kaminari giggled, offering up his hand for a high-five, but no one took it. He sat back sadly, muttering something about missing Mineta at times like these.

"Bakugo, your turn, dude," Kirishima slung his arm over the blond's shoulder. Bakugo quickly shook him off.

"No way."

"What, you afraid you'll puke?" Sero jested.

"I don't fucking care. I'm not doing it, it's dumb."

"Come on dude-"

"No."

"It's just a bit of f-"

"No."

"Come on, Katsuki~" Sunny chimed, "Stop being so serious."

"There's a difference between being serious and not being fucking stupid."

Immediately they all began to press him. Stirring up Bakugo's anger more and more. His face turned red and his eyes glazed over in rage, his lip peeling up menacingly.

Sunny watched with a look of pure joy. She loved his ugly faces so much. Watching his face scrunch up further and further until it practically disappeared. It was even funnier because he sat there topless with his glorious body shining in the sunshine, and then his ugly prune-like face sat on top like a sculptor had out of clay.

Suddenly he snapped, slamming his fist down on the little yellow pudding, breaking the plate and sending crème caramel exploding everywhere and covering everyone, including himself.

There was silence for a long time, everyone just stared at Bakugo who had flopped back against his seat with his eyes closed in conclusion.

Sunny started giggling, but it quickly turned into manic laughter and she held her sides as she laughed. Kaminari soon followed, with the others coming in after a few moments. Within a minute or so, everyone was howling wildly, except Bakugo, who was back to spitting angrily.

"N-Now who doesn't have respect for Sugawara's stuff?" Sero heaved between laughs, pointing at the splintered plate on the table.

Sunny wheezed, shrieking when Denki toppled off the bench once again.

However, they were all silenced by the intercom buzzer going off from inside the apartment.

They all paused, with Sunny being the first one to shake herself off and stand up.

"Oh!" She exclaimed brightly, "That must be Shoto." She staggered off towards the apartment. Bakugo didn't miss a beat and quickly launched himself over the table, following after her with heavy feet.

Thank you so much to everyone who has written reviews over the last few days, honestly it's the best thing ever!

There's a small group of people that review nearly every chapter and honestly it makes my day every time!

Thank you to everyone, old and new!

The next chapter will either be out later tonight or tomorrow (hopefully tonight but I am a major liability). And then the following chapter after that will get back onto the plotline some more. I'm not sure how to do the work experience week so I might do one really long chapter and break it up like a diary a bit, because let's face it we all just want bakubaby action and a bunch of chapts all with just sunny will be boring asf so I want to make sure there's loads of Bakugo

Anyways, I hope you've ignored this kinda boring chapt xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
