A/N A series of one-shots of Jacob as a baby.

The Doctor was holding Jacob in one arm and flicking switches on the Tardis console with the other arm.

"Ok, so this is the button that controls the time element of the Tardis," the Doctor began explaining the controls of the Tardis in great detail.

"Spaceman," Donna said getting the Doctor's attention, "How come you explain how to fly the Tardis but you've never told me how to do it properly?"

"Because he's extremely clever," the Doctor replied looking down at his son.

"Are you trying to say that I'm stupid?" Donna questioned defensively.

"No, just more... primitive," the Doctor replied, failing to understand what he'd implied.

"Doctor, being rude again!" Rose sternly said.

"Sorry Donna," the Doctor apologised.

"It's fine. Does he even understand what you're telling him?" Donna asked curiously.

"Sure he does, he told me," the Doctor informed.

"How? A baby can't talk!" Donna responded.

"I can speak baby, we learned on Gallifrey." the Doctor replied, "Look," He leant Jacob towards the console and the young baby reached out grabbing the nearest lever. "Good boy, Jacob."

DOCTOR WHO

The Doctor pounced onto a small table in the Tardis library, smiling at the little boy sitting in his high chair; the only audience member to his exaggerated story-telling.

"As soon as my hand had been cut off, I grew a new one! I fought him off and won of course!" the Doctor exclaimed with exaggerated hand gestures, "I told him to leave and never come back but when I was walking away, he lunged at me with a sword. I reached into your Grandma's friends dressing gown and grabbed the satsuma," He beamed, "I threw it at a nearby button that released the ready coiled springs that threw the balcony he was standing on."

He reached out to a fruit bowl placed on the counter. "Like this," He threw the satsuma across the room.

Unexpectedly, it hit one of Rose's favourite vase' which fell with a loud crash.

The Doctor gaped, "Rose is going to kill me."

As if on cue, Rose and Donna entered the living room. "What the hell Doctor?!" Rose shouted.

"Spaceman!" Donna shouted.

Rose rolled her eyes and looked in the Doctor's direction, "Sycorax story again?"

The Doctor nodded guiltily.

"Doctor, why do you always tell Jacob the same story?" Donna questioned lifting Jacob out of his high chair and cooing him.

"Because it's the best one to tell! I can recreate it for Jacob. He loves it!" He exclaimed, Jacob giggled and the Doctor smiled "See."

Rose smiled, before becoming serious again. "Doctor, how the hell am I ever going to trust you to watch Jacob for a week while I and Donna go on holiday. If I can't even leave the room without you killing an 'alien' in the form of our furniture?"

"Sorry," He muttered his head hanged down facing the floor like a child being told off by his parents.

Rose giggled, "It's ok." She said putting her hands on his shoulders, "I love you. even if you are a big kid."

"I love you too," He replied kissing her.

"Oi!" Donna shouted, "You be all loved up somewhere else."

"Thanks, Donna," the Doctor replied, taking Rose's hand and leading her out of the room.

Donna and Rose laughed. Donna was always happy to babysit Jacob, he was a pleasant boy. Donna loved being his 'Auntie'; she often wondered if she would have children of her own one day.

DOCTOR WHO

Bouncing gleefully on his mother's knee, Jacob giggled happily and clapped her hands together with excitement. Rose watched her precious son, who was now ten months old, her hands poised in case Jacob fell from her lap.

Meanwhile, the Doctor bounded about the console room.

Rose turned her giggling son around to face her, stroking his brown hair and staring into his chocolate brown eyes that matched her own.

"Come on Jacob, say 'mummy'," Rose pleaded gently, but the little Gallifreyan continued to smile cheekily and shake his head. "Ok then, say 'daddy'. Da-ddy."

The Doctor popped his head from behind a screen, watching Rose plead with their son. "he's not going to do it," He insisted approaching them. He crouched down to face his son, "Are you little one?"

Rose stared into his eyes and gave him a disapproving scowl, "He's going to have to speak at some point!"

"Of course he will!" the Doctor replied, "He's my son, isn't he." The Doctor's face changed to a serious one. "It's just. You're insulting her intelligence with all this mommy and daddy stuff."

"All parents do it, Doctor!" She said defensively, "She's only a baby."

"Yes but she's a Gallifreyan, Rose." the Doctor said, "So she's a lot clever than humans."

Donna entered the Tardis from visiting her family. "I'm back!" She called with a smile. She walked over to the family at leaned down to see Jacob. "Hello, little man."

"Donna," Jacob muttered along with a giggle.

Rose gasped and the Doctor looked stunned.

"Oh my God!" Donna called, "I'm his first word."

"Well done Jacob!" Rose exclaimed proudly kissing her son's forehead.

"Finally found your tongue little man," The Doctor said grinning widely before kissing his son's forehead.
