"I can't believe Finn is dead."Rebekah said softly.
Rebekah was looking at the fire while Liah paced back and forth between where Rebekah was standing at the fireplace and where Klaus stood at the table, where Bonnie had done the Unlinking Spell, and Elijah and Elena were sitting down, cuddling up to each other.
"Good riddance."Klaus spat.
"Niklaus, he was our Brother."Elijah stated, frowning at Klaus.
"He was an embarrassment."Klaus corrected Elijah.
"He was still our Brother."Rebekah echoed Elijah's statement."Mind your tongue."She added darkly.
"Fine."Klaus said, annoyed."Let's say a prayer for Finn who slept in a box longer then he lived as a man."Liah stopped pacing and glared at Klaus as Rebekah looked at him in disbelief."He was a lovesick fool. He's better off in death."
"Is that how you'd speak of Liah, Elena, and I if one of us died?"Rebekah questioned Klaus as she came to his side.
"Well, you let the Salvatore's loose with three stakes that kill us."Klaus retorted."So I guess we'll find out soon enough. And since when did you have a soft spot for them?"Klaus added questionably.
"The Salvatore's may fight like dogs, but in the end they would die for each other."Rebekah stated."At least they know what Family means. You destroyed ours."
"I wanted a Family, they just didn't want me."Klaus stated, staring at Rebekah coolly."And now we're Unlinked. We're no longer responsible for each other."Elijah pursed his lips and Elena sighed silently.
"So are you leaving?"Rebekah questioned Klaus.
Klaus nodded."As soon as I get my stakes, I'm gone. I'm gonna take Emily and use her blood to create a new Family of Hybrids.
"And if we choose to stay?"Rebekah asked.
"Then you're all just as pathetic as Finn."Klaus said, glancing at everyone.
"Then I suppose you won't come to Elena's and Elijah's Wedding."Liah spoke up after a minute. It was more of a statement then a question and Klaus glowered at her before storming out of the room.
"Speaking of, when are you two going to get married?"Rebekah asked, turning to the two brunette's on the couch.
"Rebekah, we've only been engaged for, like what?"Elena looked up at Elijah."A week? You're making it sound like we should get married now."
"Well, I just think it'll be a good idea for you two to get married before the Salvatore Brothers decide to use the White Oak Stake on one of us."Rebekah gestured to herself and Liah."Besides, the Salvatore Brothers would be stupid if they tried to go after Elijah, since they know that you're more powerful then Bonnie."Rebekah added, giving Elena a pointed look.
"Shouldn't we be worrying about the fact that your Mother is still nowhere to be found and we should be looking for her?"Elena said, trying to change the subject.
"Fine. Elijah will look for Esther, and you and Liah will go to Denver."Rebekah said and Elena looked at Rebekah in confusion.
"What's in Denver?"Elena asked, confused.
"Your Brother, who you haven't told about your engagement to our Brother"Elena winced, having forgotten that Jeremy was in Denver."and Liah needs to tell Kol in person that there's three White Oak Stakes in the possession of the Salvatore Brothers."
"Ok, he is not gonna take this well."Elena mumbled.
"Neither is Kol."Liah said, grimacing."Wait, what will you be doing?"Liah suddenly asked, looking at Rebekah curiously, as did Elena and Elijah.
"Planning a Dance at School, of course."Rebekah stated."I have to keep up appearances."She added when Liah made a noise in protest.
"Alright, fine."Liah grumbled before turning to Elijah."You ok with me taking your Bride?"Elijah's grip tightened around Elena's shoulder for a brief second.
"Keep her safe."Elijah stated, not bothering to give Liah the or else part, seeing as it must have been plain to see on his face.
"Will do."Liah said before turning to Elena."Are your bags still in Elijah's car?"
"Yes, why?"
"Because we're leaving as soon as possible, which is right now."
"Yay."
"Ok, Jeremy said that he'd meet us at baseball batting cages at noon."Elena said, yawning as Liah handed her a cup of coffee."Oh, I so need one of these."
"Perfect. This gives us time to look at a few Wedding Dresses for you to try on and send the photos to Rebekah."Elena almost spat out her coffee and gave Liah a side glare.
"What?"
"I saw a Wedding Dress Boutique shop just down the road."
"Oh my god, you two really want me to get married into your Family quickly, don't you?"
"Rebekah has always dreamed of planning a wedding, either for herself, or me, or even Elijah."Liah said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Never Kol or Klaus?"Elena questioned
"Kol said that he'd never marry because he didn't see the point since he'd live forever and his Bride would either; A. die of old age, or B. Klaus kills the poor girl and then proceeds to Dagger him, or C. he gets tired of her himself and kills her, if she was a Vampire that is."Liah said, shrugging."And who would want to marry Klaus? Only someone insane would want to marry him, better yet, actually fall in love with him."Liah shuddered."I'd pity the poor girl who does either of those two."
"Isn't he trying to woo Caroline?"
"Yes, and right now, I pity the poor Baby Vampire."
"I felt ridiculous in that last dress, Liah."Elena said as they headed towards the batting cages."Why did you make me wear it?"
"Because I wanted to piss off Rebekah?"Liah asked, smirking.
"Yeah, well, not only did you piss her off, you officially pissed me off, too!"Elena grumbled, glaring at Liah.
"It wasn't that bad."Liah said, shrugging her shoulders.
"It was extremely puffy!"Elena exclaimed, giving Liah a deadpanned look.
"But you could still walk in it."
"Only if I lifted the skirt of the dress."
"Ok, ok, well, it's not like you're gonna wear it."
Before Elena could say anything, she saw a body on the floor ahead of her and Liah and paused, seeing what was left of a bat pierced through the chest.
When Liah realised Elena had stopped walking, Liah looked back at Elena before following the younger Immortal's line of sight and her hazel green eyes widened in shock.
"Is that...?"Elena trailed off, hoping it wasn't Kol, but knew that it had to be.
"Kol."Liah breathed out and Vamp-Sped over to her twin's side while Elena ran over to them, and turned Kol onto his side and pulled the bat out of his chest."Bloody idiot, what did you do?"Liah questioned her currently dead twin as she threw the bat away and put his head in her lap.
A few minutes later, Kol came back to life with a gasp."Hello Sister."He said, smiling up at her before noticing Elena."Hello other Sister."Elena rolled her eyes, smiling slightly at the dark haired brunet."What are you two doing here?"
"What did you do that got yourself killed?"Liah questioned Kol as she helped him sit up.
"I asked first."Kol said stubbornly.
"We came here to tell you that, somehow, there are three White Oak Stakes in the Salvatore's possession, Finn is dead because of one White Oak Stake,"Kol's eyes darkened."and to tell Jeremy that Elena is getting married to Elijah and he's invited to the wedding."Liah quickly added and Kol looked at Elena, his rage gone and replaced with a wide happy smile.
"Oh, you've set a date then?"Kol didn't give time for Elena to say anything."Fantastic. Jeremy can give you away, Liah and Bekah can be your Bridesmaids, Klaus can be Elijah's Best Man, and I can be the acting Priest."
"You were a Priest?"Elena said questionably and looked at Kol in disbelief.
"I was a Franciscan Monk in the thirteenth century, Darling."Kol stated, smirking.
"Oh."Elena said, eyes wide.
"Anyway, can we get back to the matter at hand? Who killed you?"Liah questioned Kol as they all stood up.
"Damon Salvatore did right after I hit him with the very baseball bat that had pierced my chest."Kol growled out."Oh, and Jeremy knows that I'm an Original now, no thanks to Emily."
"Great."Elena and Liah said in unison.
An hour later, Kol, Elena, and Liah had tracked Elena's Siblings, through a Locator Spell, and Damon to a Motel in the middle of nowhere and had gotten a room not too close to them, but close enough so that Kol and Liah could listen to them and find out what they were up to.
"So, do they know that since Finn died, then his strumpet of a girlfriend, Sage, died, along with whoever else she Sired?"Kol questioned them as Elena propped herself up against the headboard of the bed.
"Most likely."Elena stated, shrugging softly."I mean, it's the only reason why Stefan would actually give up the Stakes."Elena said as Kol sat down on a chair and Liah sat at the end of her bed."And now that they know, they most likely want to know which Sireline the Salvatore's, Katherine, Caroline and Bonnie's Mother, Abby, are from."
"They don't know?"Liah asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nope."Elena said, popping the p."Do you guys know?"
Liah and Kol looked at each other."Katherine Sired the Salvatore Brothers, right?"Elena nodded."Well who Sired Katherine?"
"You don't know?"Elena asked in surprise."I thought you two were awake during the time Klaus and Elijah met Katherine. I mean, she told me she saw you once at Klaus' 'birthday', Kol,"Elena looked at Liah."and you and her used to hang out whenever Elijah wasn't with her or she wasn't being 'courted' by Klaus."
"Nope, Klaus sent me to look for a Werewolf after we met Katerina."Kol explained."That's why I wasn't at the Castle after the party."
"I was Daggered the day Katherine ran."Elena raised an eyebrow at her."Back then, Kol and I weren't exactly tamed because Klaus had stopped with the Dagger threats for a while. It was mostly because of Katherine."Liah explained."So Klaus thought that if it wasn't Elijah who told Katherine the truth, then it must have been me."Liah shrugged."So, who Sired Katherine?"
"A Vampire named Rose-Marie, commonly known as Rose."Elena stated.
"Mary."The twins said in unison and Elena raised an eyebrow at them.
"Mary Sired Rose-Marie."
"You knew Rose's Sire?"
"Yep."Kol said, smirking."She was an Original Groupie."He added.
"What he means is that Mary befriended Klaus, Kol, and I."Liah explained."Elijah never liked her though. Rebekah hates groupies, but she did approve of Mary, somewhat."Liah added, shrugging."Anyway, Klaus obviously turned her."
"And he most likely knows where she currently is."Kol added hopefully.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Call him."Elena exclaimed.
Elena, Liah, and Kol hid in the darkest part of the room, waiting for Emily and Damon to make an appearance. Elena could only hope that they weren't stupid enough to let Jeremy go inside with them, and was relieved when only Emily and Damon stepped into the room, because now they were trapped due to the Barrier Spell she and Liah had quickly done, and looked at Mary Porter's body in horror and shock.
"Mary."Damon said softly.
"Quite contrary."Kol said, flipping the lights on and the duo turned to see the trio standing or sitting behind them, and Kol had an aluminium bat in his hands.
"Hey Sis, it's been a while, huh?"Elena said, smirking at Emily, who looked at her fearfully.
"Shame about Mary."Kol said, getting up and walked around Damon and Emily, who watched him warily, to stand in front of Mary's corpse."She used to be a blast, right Liah?"
"She sure did. Pity she had to die."Liah said in agreement.
"I don't quite know what happened."Kol said, looking confused for a split second but ended up smirking darkly at Damon and Emily."I fear all the time she spent with my Family might have ruined her. What do you think, Sister?"
"It's a possibility."Liah said, shrugging."She was a bit of an Original Groupie."
"And was one of you her favourite?"Emily questioned them, looking between the twins.
"You mean, did one of us turn her?"Kol said while Liah giggled and Elena smirked in amusement."I think I did."Kol said, sounding confident for a moment."But no, wait, maybe it was Rebekah."
"No, no."Liah said, causing everyone to turn to her."I think it was me, because she was after all my servant girl, remember?"
"Ah yes, but it was also a Klaus period."Kol retorted.
"Oh, right, when wasn't it a Klaus period, Kol?"Liah asked."I mean, let's not forget about the Elijah affair."Liah lied about the last bit, seeing as she wanted to try and rile Damon up and try and get him to piss Elena off, and smirked when she saw him sneer in disgust.
"We spoke with our Brother."Kol's eyes narrowed."We know you're trying to find out who you descended from."Kol turned to Mary."Now you never will. So"Kol turned back to Damon and Emily, hitting his bat against the floor."Where did we leave off?"Kol asked, raising an eyebrow at them. Damon sneered at him but before the blue eyed Vampire could say or do anything, Kol slammed his bat against Damon's knee, causing Damon to groan and fall on his stomach, and accidently kicked his leg out, which Kol hit repeatedly.
"Emily, get out of here."Damon managed to gasp out and Emily, forgetting about Liah and Elena, went to run for the door, only for Liah to Vamp-Speed in front of her, blocking the exit.
"Oh no you don't."Liah said, grabbing Emily by the collar of her coat."Just because my Brother says you're off limits doesn't mean I can't roughen you up a bit."Liah said with a vicious smirk before she threw Emily into the wall, causing her to cry out in pain."Ooh, I'm sorry, did that hurt? Well you deserved that and a whole lot more!"Liah snarled at Emily.
Damon somehow managed to get up, because Kol was distracted, and came at Liah, but before he could wrap his hand around Liah's throat, Elena gave him one hell of a splitting aneurysm, causing him to fall to his knees, gripping his head in agony and blood started to tickle down his nose, eyes, and ears.
"Does that hurt? This should be nothing compared to what we did to you back at the Mansion."Elena said, smirking down at Damon, before throwing her arm out, her hands slightly curled and Damon hit the opposite wall that Emily had been thrown against."Have fun, Kol, we'll be outside and don't worry, they can't get out until you leave the house."Elena explained and Kol smiled widely at Elena."Oh, and Damon? I would have loved to give you a nice Werewolf Bite as a parting gift, but we're in a hurry, so have fun with Kol."Elena added before Kol got Damon's attention again by attacking him as Liah grabbed Elena and Vamp-Sped out of the creepy Mansion.
"Hey Jerbear."Elena said, stepping out of the shadows and towards Jeremy while Liah walked behind her.
Jeremy, who had been leaning on the hood, looked to his left sharply and his eyes wide at seeing Elena and Liah standing a bit away from him.
"Elena."Jeremy said, glancing at Liah with a wary look in his eyes.
"Don't worry, I'm going to kill you or anything."Liah said, giving him a small smile."About what Kol said the other day though, he didn't mean it. He actually wanted to be your friend, but Damon just pisses him off."
"You expect me to believe you?"Jeremy asked Liah, frowning."Kol was sent by Klaus to use me as leverage."
"Yes, but Kol wouldn't actually hurt you. I made him promise me that."Liah said calmly."Kol only listened to Klaus because he doesn't want to be Daggered for another century, but he listens to me because he doesn't want to make me cry or angry."Liah explained.
"Ok..."Jeremy mumbled, not sure what to say."Why are you here?"Jeremy asked, looking at Elena."I mean, ah..."Jeremy trailed off.
"It's ok, I get it."Elena said calmly."I mean, with everything going on you're not sure if you can trust me or not."Jeremy smiled weakly at her."We're not here to harm you, Jer. I actually really wanted to see you because I have news, and hopefully you won't hate me for it and will listen and understand."
Jeremy's eyes narrowed."What is it?"
Elena took a deep breath."You know I love Elijah, right?"
Jeremy nodded."Yeah, it was pretty obvious with how you reacted when you learned that Emily Daggered him and I sided with her."
"Yeah..."Elena said weakly."I am sorry about that."
"Don't be."Jeremy said, shaking his head."We should have trusted Elijah. Now, what do you have to tell me?"
"Well, Elijah and I are, what Witches call a Balanced, which is in Vampire and Werewolf terms, a Bonded Pair, and in Human terms, we're what you call Soulmates."Elena explained, surprising Jeremy.
"She's also Elijah's Intended Mate."Liah added and saw the confused look on Jeremy's face."An Intended Mate is where the Vampire either finds another Vampire or Human and wants to Mate with them. To do that, it requires Blood Sharing and Sex, and of course, if you're Human, the Vampire will turn you."Elena and Jeremy blushed, glaring at Liah.
"You're so blunt."
"I know."
"So, wait, you're gonna turn into a Vampire?"Jeremy cut in before Liah could say anything else."But what about being a Witch?"
"Elijah can't and won't have to turn me, Jeremy."Elena said."He can't turn me because John isn't exactly related to Grayson."
"What do you mean?"Jeremy asked, eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"John and Grayson have the same Father, but had different Mothers, but Grayson might have known or not, but he did grow up calling John's Mother his Mom."Elena said."Mine and Emily's Grandmother was a distant relative of the Lockwood's, on Tyler's Father's side."
Jeremy's eyes widened."That would mean that you and Emily are Werewolves."
"Yeah, and I triggered my Curse a few months back, no thanks to Rebekah."Elena said, shifting nervously."I'm a Werewitch. Half Werewolf and half Witch."Elena stated."But there's more."Elena added.
"What?"Jeremy asked warily.
"I became Immortal the night Emily died in Klaus' Ritual."Jeremy's eyes widened."A Petrova can only become Immortal if all but one Petrova dies or is killed, because they gain all of the Family Magic, which includes Ancestral Magic. Everyone calls it the Petrova Fire."
"Wow."Jeremy gasped out.
"Yeah, so, you don't really have to worry about Elijah turning me."Elena shrugged.
"Ok, so you're like an extremely powerful Immortal Werewitch Hybrid?"Elena nodded."And you and Elijah are Soulmates?"This time, Elena and Liah winced, but still, the younger Immortal nodded."Is there anything else I should know?"
"Elijah asked me to marry him and I said yes, and I want you to give me away?"Jeremy stared at Elena, who was biting her lip nervously, and looked ready to pass out.
"Seriously? You want me to do it?"Jeremy pointed at himself.
Elena nodded."Yes."
"Me?"Jeremy asked again, just to make sure.
"Yes."Elena said more confidently.
"Is she serious?"Jeremy asked, looking at Liah.
"She's wearing the ring to prove it."Liah said, gesturing to the emerald ring on Elena's wedding finger.
"Can I give Elijah the; You break her heart, I break your neck speech?"Jeremy asked Elena curiously.
"Jeremy!"Elena exclaimed in horror and Liah laughed.
"Sure you can and I'm sure that if Elijah ever did break her heart, he'll even let you stake him in the heart."Liah joked but neither Gilbert Siblings knew that she was actually being serious.
"Ok, I'll do it."
"Really? You do know that Klaus is going to be there and so is Kol."
"Look, everything that's been going on between our Sister, Damon, Stefan, and Klaus, isn't really my business. I mean, I do care about Emily, but this is like one of those gang wars we used to watch."Jeremy explained."And I really don't want to get caught up in that, plus, I actually hope Kol wants to be my friend, because I want to be his friend as well."
"I do want to be your friend, mate."That made everyone turn to see Kol walking towards them, smiling as though he had just won a million dollars."So, what do you say, friends?"Kol held out his hand to Jeremy when he came to a stop in front of him.
Jeremy stared at Kol for a moment then looked down at his hand."Friends."Jeremy agreed, shaking hands with the Original.
"Fantastic."Kol said as Elena and Liah smiled at one another."Now, we better be going."Kol said, turning his attention to the girls."See you later, mate."Kol said.
"See you soon?"Jeremy asked, looking at Elena.
"See you soon."Elena agreed before Liah whisked her away.
