Hi Readers!
So I am going through a lot right now. I don't want to have to burden you guys with what's happening to me, but I don't have anyone to talk to about what's going on.
So my auntie has just been tested positive for Covid. I'm obviously upset enough about that but now my best friend is getting a covid test too. If she has it then I don't know if she'll survive because she has a weak immune system because she used to have a form of cancer. I'm really worried about it so if any of you guys have any advice for me that would be really helpful…
Okay. So back to the story. Today's chapter about the gang preparing the dance's afterparty.
Let's see how it works what with my writer's block.
"Rachel?!" He said in outrage. "I thought she-"
"Well I guess you thought wrong since she isn't." Thalia replied shortly. "Now don't mention it again unless you want to start a riot with Piper and the others against her and Luke. Not that I wouldn't mind it though."
He really didn't. He had seen how protective his friends could get. Even Hazel who was the quietest of all of them. He watched the girls both sit back down at their table. He looked around the room. His friends were all on the dance floor other than Grover who was DJing the party during the time the band didn't play. He didn't have a date since his girlfriend Juniper had left earlier that day to go on a trip abroad to do volunteer work in some country where a lot of wildfires were happening. He was about to walk up to Grover when he saw something that caught his eye.
Rachel and Luke whispering together.
Well Rachel was whispering. Luke was busy ignoring her and staring at something else.
No wait some ONE else Percy realised when he followed Luke's gaze of sight which landed on Annabeth.
A strange feeling began growing in the pit of his chest. What was it? Was it remorse? Disgust?
Realisation dawned on Percy's face. It was jealousy.
Why he felt this way though he had no idea. After all, it's not like he and Annabeth were dating or anything. He shook his head before joining the girls at the table.
An hour later…
The gang had all left to set up for the afterparty. The whole grade was coming and maybe even some juniors too.
As soon as they walked through the doors of the mansion Piper barked out orders to them all.
"Okay girls you come to the kitchen with me so we can prepare snacks and drinks. Jason and Percy go upstairs and lock all the doors other than the bathrooms. I don't want anyone going through my things or my dad's! Everyone else sort out the living room and music. Go, go, go!"
They split up.
What happened with Jason and Percy…
The boys walked up the stairs in silence. The air wasn't tense it just felt awkward.
"So you had fun with Piper then huh?" Percy said finally gaining the courage to speak.
He saw the blush rising in his cousins cheeks. He sniggered and teasingly nudged him in the ribs with his elbow.
"That much fun eh?" He smirked.
"Shut up!" Jason defended himself, slapping Percy's arm away.
They reached the top of a stairwell. They walked into the sort of hallway. Outside of Piper's room there was a sort of mahogany desk. Inside the draw was a set of keys to lock the bedrooms. They walked up and down the aisle of rooms and locked them one by one making sure that they left the bathrooms alone. Then Percy went to the next floor to do the same thing while Jason went down to help Piper and the girls. But as Percy had teased him – mainly Piper.
He finished the job and went to see how the rest of the boys were handling their fairly easy jobs.
He ended up wishing he hadn't.
Leo and Frank were bickering.
Travis and Connor were pillow fighting.
Will and Nico were nowhere to be found.
Beckendorf was trying to stop the fighting but it was hard having to do two things at once.
And Grover was stood over his makeshift DJ booth yelling, "Silence! I need silence! How do you expect me to complete my craft if you're all arguing like little girls.
"Guys! You need to pull yourselves together before either Thalia comes in and sorts this out her way. Or Piper does instead and sees the mess you made in her living room."
They all cursed under their breath. They knew that having to face either of those consequences weren't worth it.
"Tidy!" They all yelled in unison before doing everything they could to sort out their mess.
Finally when the girls came with the refreshments and with the sound system set up they could start the party. Just in time too as that was when Will and Nico emerged from the darkness and guests began to arrive.
….
Annabeth stood outside with Piper greeting the first guests. But one moment caught Annabeth off.
That one moment was when Rachel walked in with Luke.
