Chapter 20

Kathy and Shanna learned they were in a really different version of Once upon a time. The seasons existed just in a different way, and as usual Gold was keeping secrets and still betraying the others just in a sneakier way.

"We still have to be careful." Kathy remarked.

"Yeah, but we also have some leverage if Gold tries anything against us." Shanna replied.

"That's a last resort if he tries to go against us, which hopefully he won't try to do to us." Kathy stated.

"But he's Gold we know that he will do just that." Shanna remarked.

"Yeah, I know your probably right." Kathy replied as they watched Granny bring them something for them to eat.

"Looks awesome, Granny." Shanna replied.

"Smells as good as it looks." Kathy commented.

"Enjoy." Granny said.

They watched as Granny walked away, and then ate dinner.

"This is really good." Kathy stated.

"Yeah, it's funny how cheeseburgers taste so different in a different realm, huh?" Shanna replied.

Emma and Regina walked over toward them, and both girls noted that Emma and Regina had grim expressions on their faces.

"This can't be good." Kathy said under her breath as Shanna merely shrugged.

"We are trying to figure out how to send you back, but every time we think it will work out it doesn't." Regina replied.

"Gold?" Shanna remarked.

"It's possible, he is in his shop right now." Emma said as Shanna glanced over toward her best friend.

"He won't stop, guess we've got to do it." Shanna commented.

"I dread this," was all Kathy said.

"Join the club." Shanna remarked sourly.

Kathy sighed then, which confused Emma and Regina.

"Did we miss something?" Regina asked.

Kathy merely shook her head.

"Emma, you're with Hook, right?" Kathy asked.

"Yes, why?" Emma asked.

"Regina, you're still with Robin, right?" Shanna asked.

"Yes, and again why?" Regina asked a little sterner as she was getting very frustrated with the questions without getting any answer to their own questions.

"What if we told you we could secure your happy endings for you." Shanna said as they saw a chance for everyone to win and decided to take it.

"What are you talking about?" Regina asked.

"We'll explain later we'll eat and then be right back." Shanna answered as Regina and Emma nodded.

"Alright, but you've still got to explain yourselves, alright?" Emma asked.

"Alright," they said as they finished eating.

"Ready?" Shanna asked her best friend.

"Am all set, let's do this." Kathy answered.

The girls slowly got up, and then headed over to Gold's shop both girls knew what was at risk threatening The Dark One. However, they had no choice at this point but to do it, especially if he was causing the problem of going home.

Jon stayed with Henry and the others, while his Aunt and Shanna went to pay the Dark One a rather dangerous visit one that could get them both killed in a blink of an eye.

Kathy wrapped her fingers around the door handle, and pushed the door open and they walked into The Dark One's shop. Gold glanced up and looked entirely too annoyed that they were even in his shop.

"What do you two want?" he demanded in a menacing tone of voice.

"We know that you are hindering our chances of going home, so, if you don't stop and you continue to do that. We will have no choice but to take action against you, do you understand?" Kathy remarked firmly even though she was petrified of what Gold was capable of.

"Tread carefully, deary." Gold stated firmly.

"Sorry, but no we can't do that." Shanna replied.

"You two are either very brave or very stupid." Gold replied.

"Just knock it off, or we tell Belle everything going on with you." Shanna threatened as Gold's expression turned very dark very fast.

"Threaten me like that again, deary, and I will show you what a Dark One is truly capable of." Gold snarled as he held up his hands and lifted both girls up choking them slightly and then sent them flying against the wall.

"That didn't go well," Shanna whispered as Gold walked up to them then.

"You're in MY town now, dearies, now get out of my shop." he snarled low and ominously at them as they slowly got up, both gingerly rubbed their throats, and walked out.

"This may take some time." Shanna grumbled as she and Kathy continue to rub their throats.

"Yeah, right." Kathy mumbled knowing that was way too stupid they would have to be very careful in the future with Gold.

Or die very young that is...
