Important
Status of The Guardian
So, I wanted to update the followers of The Guardian om its current status, but first, I would like to apologize for how long I was gone. It was a combination of many things, the main reason being my own personal issues and mental health, but I am sure none of you want to hear about it. If this raises any concern, I am fine. It's something that I can hopefully say is just a dark chapter of my life. Now, how does this affect The Guardian? Well, my work ethic was struck violently by what happened and I lost the drive to write for a very long time. Yet, I've been drafting ideas for different stories. I've wanted to come back to this story for a while now, but after rereading it, I have come to the hard decision that it would be too hard of a task to undertake in its current status. I've wanted to go back and revise the earlier chapters because, and I am being completely honest, they weren't the best they could be. Most of the story so far was chalked full of writing mistakes and grammar errors and was very fast-paced. I also know that I was a terrible writer starting out. I was planning to discontinue this story altogether and focus more on my own original writing project while also giving a basic plot synopsis of The Guardian and its two planned sequels, but I've decided to take a different route. I want to announce that I am completely remaking The Guardian completely. I want to be able to finish this series and maybe do a spin-off story or two.
The Guardian Remake
The most pressing of the changes is the complete removal of any sexual encounter that was originally planned. Of course, I will still include the romance aspects of the story, but I will not include any sex scenes. I am sorry if that disappoints anyone, but I feel that if you followed this story, the sex scenes rank pretty low on the list of what you wanted to see. Another is the changes to Nathan/Grim. By all accounts, he was a self-insert of me when I was going through a rough patch and I had wanted him to be a badass who can beat all the odds, in a way, inspired by Commander Shepard of the Mass Effect Trilogy. This overall plan conflicts with where I want to take this story now, so instead of making him adept at many abilities that have to do with combat with little to no explanation, I will do a better job at explaining such things and spend time exploring his early days in Hyatia. In a way, I will make him more human and less God-like.
Two other changes that I believe are worth mentioning are the change of speed regarding the development of relationships. I realize now that I forced the relationships to progress at an unhealthy speed, how I realized this is rather personal, but I will implement a healthier speed regarding the relationship, so don't expect to see a relationship develop between Nathan and Violet early on. Another aspect I will explore more in the story is the explanation for things. When I started, I was hoping for more support on the Discord end of things because there I made documents explaining things that I didn't think needed to go into the story, such as where are the regions that exist within the canon Pokemon lore, or how do people understand Pokemon? Those aren't the only examples, but I plan to expand upon these concepts within the story without making it confusing or tedious to read. If something cannot make it into the story, expect it to appear in something released exclusively to Discord or perhaps something at the end of the chapter explaining things. Of course, if there are any questions, feel free to PM me. Personally, I like being connected to my readers in some way, shape, or form. I don't know if there are any other authors that encourage this, but if any of you are inspired, not that anything I do is the ground for inspiration, or want to write something based off of the characters or the world that appears in The Guardian, I encourage it so long as if there is proper crediting to the original story. If stories are made, I will do my best to try and link them or bunch them together. To clear up any confusion, I am not asking you to write The Guardian for me. I want to inspire creativity the same way some stories that I read before I began to write did for me and to also hopefully create a living and breathing universe. Again, this is something more akin to a dream of sorts and in no way needs to happen, so please don't feel obligated to write anything.
Other Projects
I know on my Bio, I have listed several other planned stories I wanted to write, and that I also posted two other stories that went nowhere, and I don't have any plans to take them anywhere. As for the stories I had included on the Bio, I have no plans to make them except for a story that involves Mass Effect. I am working on a story that won't make an appearance here, and it's called The Demons and is about the struggle someone has with depression and being worn down over time by trauma given to the protagonist by someone he trusted.
I would like to thank all of you for being patient and I do hope that you'll all follow and support the revised version of The Guardian.
