Hello, everyone !
I'm back with the twenty-sixth chapter :D
I hope you enjoy reading this…
Disclaimer: I only own this plot
"Fetch a royal doctor right away!" Natsu ordered, as some maids carefully placed Lisanna on the bed. Her head had been bandaged, but it looked like her blood wouldn't stop.
"Lisanna!" Mirajane shouted in horror and rushed inside. Since she left the manor not long after Lisanna, she managed to catch up with her. She saw what happened and ran to her sister's side immediately. To be more precise, she was present from the moment Lisanna cried.
A moment later, Scorpio came running. "The royal doctor is here!" Scorpio said and sent the doctor inside.
The doors slammed shut and Natsu stayed outside with Scorpio.
"Natsu!" Lucy came running with Gray, as he was told by Natsu to go pick her up from the queen's chamber. "I heard what happened, are you—"
Lucy's sentence was cut as Natsu brought her to his arms, hugging her tight. He hides his face in the crook of her neck and stayed silent.
Lucy was surprised, but she readily hugged him back. She could feel how distraught he was. She gently patted his head. "It's not your fault. She'll be okay."
Natsu gritted his teeth and tightened his hug. This is all his fault! If anything happened to Lisanna…
"She'll be okay, Natsu." Lucy assured. "You of all people should know how strong she is."
"Yes, Prince Natsu." Scorpio also tried to cheer Natsu up. "She will be okay."
Just then, the doors were opened. Natsu quickly turned his body and faced the royal doctor. "How is she?"
"She's fine." The doctor sighed in relief. "I've managed to stop the blood and the wound itself isn't deep. I've stitched it and because it's a quite minor wound, it wouldn't leave any scar. However, it is inevitable that the young lady suffered from a head trauma. There's a probability she might suffered from physical shock…"
"You mean… She might lose her memories?" Natsu asked.
"I cannot be assured of that myself, Prince. But such possibility does exist." The royal doctor replied.
Natsu clenched his fists tight. Damn it…
"Natsu." Lucy softly called as she slipped her hand into his gently and gave it a squeeze. "It'll be okay."
"Will the memory lost be permanent?" Gray asked.
"I don't think so, judging from the wound." The royal doctor answered. "But I cannot say how long will she suffered from it."
Natsu let out a small sigh. "Thank you very much, doctor."
The royal doctor excused himself and Scorpio stepped away to company the doctor. Leaving Gray, Natsu, and Lucy alone outside of the room.
"She's such a stupid child." Mirajane stepped outside, worry was plastered all over her face.
"…I'm sorry." Natsu bowed down his head.
"Don't be." Mirajane smiled. "It's not your fault, Natsu, and no one will blame you. It's an accident."
"But, still…"
"Sooner or later, she must know the reality." Mirajane softly glanced at her sleeping sibling. "And the doctor did say she's fine."
"But she might lose her memories…"
"But it's not permanent, isn't it?" Mirajane smiled. "We can slowly restore those memories that she lost, if she did lose them."
"I'm sorry…"
"I've told you no need to be sorry." Mirajane patted Natsu's head. "You've grown up so much now, I'm so happy for you."
Natsu smiled back a little, although guilt was still apparent in his eyes.
"On the contrary, I should be the one to apologize. I know how much Lisanna's actions these past few months have troubled you, Prince Natsu. I'm sorry for that." Mirajane bowed down. "And to you as well, Princess Lucy."
"Oh, you don't need to be!" Lucy quickly said. "I am not troubled at all!"
"You're too kind." Mirajane softly chuckled. "I guess having you as Natsu's fiancée is a really good choice."
"I… Ugh…"
"Please take care of him, Princess Lucy." Mirajane smiled. "He could be a quite troublemaker, but I know you can put him in his place."
"Hey!"
Lucy laughed a little. "I'll be sure to live up to that wish, Lady Mirajane."
"Oh, please don't be too formal with me." Mirajane said. "Mira-nee sounds more pleasing."
"Then you can call me Lucy, Mira…-nee." Lucy smiled.
"It's an honor, Lucy." Mirajane smiled back.
"By the way, have you informed Elfman?" Gray asked. "I mean, he cares a lot for Lisanna, and…"
"No worries, I've told my coachman to send my hawk to him." Mirajane said. "We will return to the manor once Lisanna's all better."
"He's going to kill me." Natsu muttered.
Mirajane chuckled. "I don't think so. He's been quite fidgety on how to face you properly, Natsu. Especially with Lisanna's actions during these past few months."
Natsu sighed. "I should properly apologize to the Strauss for this. Accident or not, it can't be denied that I am somewhat responsible."
Mirajane patted his shoulder. "Let's think about this once we've returned to the Dragon Country. I'll stay with her starting tonight, so you don't have to worry."
"Tell us if you need anything." Gray said.
"Will do." Mirajane nodded.
Natsu, Lucy, and Gray decided to spend another night at the Sand Country. The next morning, the three of them made their way to Lisanna's guest room. When they arrived, the door was ajar as Mirajane drew back the curtains. Lisanna was still sleeping.
"Mirajane." Both Natsu and Gray greeted.
"Good morning." Mirajane smiled. "Come on in. She's still asleep, though."
The three of them made their way to the bed. Another pang of guilt hit Natsu as he eyed the bandages around Lisanna's head.
"Ugh…"
"Lisanna!" Mirajane gasped and hurriedly to the other side of the bed.
Lisanna slowly opened her eyes, showing her blue orbs. She glanced to her right. "Mirajane-nee…"
"Oh, thank goodness!" Mirajane cried in relief.
Lisanna then glanced to her left. "Gray…" she muttered. Then her eyes stopped at Natsu and she smiled. "Natsu…"
"Hey, Lis." Natsu greeted.
"My love…"
Natsu's breath hitched. Even Gray and Mirajane couldn't hold back their gasps. Lucy could only widen her eyes.
What… What did Lisanna say?
"Lisanna?" Mirajane confusedly called.
Lisanna chuckled upon seeing their reactions. "My, why do you look so confused, my love? You should have gotten used to this nickname. It shows how much I love—oh, who is this?"
Lucy unknowingly flinched upon seeing Lisanna's gaze fell on her.
"Is she my new maid?" Lisanna cheerfully asked. "Dear Natsu, how did you know I'm in need of another maid?"
"Lisanna!" Mirajane hissed. "Have care how you speak in front of the second prince's fiancée!"
"Fiancée?" Lisanna raised an eyebrow as she looked at her sister. "But I'm Natsu's fiancée."
Mirajane was so taken aback that words were lost from her mouth.
"Don't joke around." Gray said. "Natsu is betrothed to Lucy."
Lisanna giggled. "That's a bad joke, Gray. You know full well that Natsu is betrothed to me. Ever since he was four years old."
Gray widened his eyes. "Wha—"
"And your name is Lucy?" Lisanna looked back at Lucy again. "You have a quite pretty name for a lowly maid."
"Lis!" Natsu reprimanded.
He was about to say some more, but his words were cut as he felt Lucy's hand was giving him a small squeeze. He turned his head to face her, but she kept her eyes on Lisanna.
Lucy bowed down politely. "It's a pleasure to meet you, High Court Lady Lisanna Strauss. My name is Lucy."
"Oh, I like her already!" Lisanna giggled. "I like people who are aware of their positions!"
"Lisanna!" Mirajane warned. But Lisanna looked back at her as if she was confused on why Mirajane would use a warning tone like that. What did she do wrong?
"Come with me." Natsu grabbed Lucy's hand and took her out of the room.
"Natsu! Where are you going, my love?" Lisanna's voice echoed, but Natsu didn't care.
He brought Lucy to the queen's garden where no one is around right at the moment.
"Lucy! Why did you do that?" Natsu waste no time. "You shouldn't have done that! You're my fiancée, not her!"
"Natsu." Lucy gently smiled and used a hand to cup Natsu's cheek. "I'm sure you're aware that Lady Lisanna's memories is all jumbled up."
Natsu held Lucy's hand which was on his cheek. "And?"
"And I don't think we should make it any worse." Lucy said. "Isn't it better to slowly fix her memories? Rather than bringing another wave of shock to her."
Natsu gritted his teeth. "So what? You want to act as her maid now?"
"It's not that." Lucy softly sighed. "Perhaps I can play as another noble lady?"
"You're my fiancée." Natsu repeated.
"I know, but we can't actually say that to her face, right?" Lucy asked. "If we force the truth on her, who knows what kind of shock she would have? What if her memories become more messed up? Or worse, she could lose them."
"Ugh…" Natsu gritted his teeth. He hated to do this, but he knew Lucy was right.
"Just for a while…" Lucy offered. "Until we can sort her memories back."
"Lucy…"
"She's precious to you, isn't she?" Lucy smiled. "I know you're feeling guilty of what happened, Natsu. And I don't want you to feel any more guilty if something bad happen to her because we force the truth on her once more."
Natsu let his hands go and used them to cup Lucy's cheeks. "But you know that you're my most precious person, right?"
"Of course."
Natsu sighed and dived down to kiss her. Lucy readily kissed him back, her soft hands entangled themselves in his hair.
"I'll miss this a lot." Natsu breathed out as they broke apart.
"I know. Me too." Lucy blushed.
Natsu let her cheeks go and hugged her. "I'm going to miss you the second you left."
Lucy hugged him back, basking herself in his warmth and smoky smell. "Me too."
"Gosh, I love you so much." Natsu whispered.
"I love you too, my dragon knight." Lucy chuckled.
"I like that nickname." Natsu cheekily grinned as he put a bit space between them.
"You should go now." Lucy stroke Natsu's cheek lovingly once more. "Lady Lisanna must have been worried."
Natsu kissed her palm chastely before planting another kiss on her forehead. "I'll ask Gray to company you. Just kick his groin if he goes all pervert on you."
Lucy laughed a little.
"Ugh… Must I really go and do this?" Natsu was so reluctant to let go.
"I thought you agreed with me just now?" Lucy asked back.
"Argh… Fine, fine…" Natsu let his hug go and Lucy instantly missed it.
The two of them stared at each other for a few more minutes before Natsu let out another sigh and left to see Lisanna.
One step away from her and Natsu already missed her.
Lucy returned to Lisanna's guest room a bit later, but she didn't step inside. Even if it was her idea, it was still painful for her to see Natsu with Lisanna together. She could her Lisanna's crisp laugh from the inside and that was enough to shrink her courage even more.
But she didn't have to be so awkward, being alone on the outside. Gray stepped out seconds later.
"Natsu briefed me." Gray grinned. "But if you really want to go with that idea, I think it will be best if you take the name of Fullbuster. For now."
"But she knows I'm not your sibling." Lucy said.
"We can say you're my distant cousin who has been adopted to the family." Gray said.
Lucy nodded after a few seconds of thinking. "Then, I will take your kindness."
"Yes!"
"Does Mira-nee know about this as well?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah. Natsu has also briefed her." Gray nodded.
"But…" Lucy fidgeted. "Now that we're doing it, I get the feeling… We… We're tricking her, aren't we…?"
"This is for the greater good." Gray patted Lucy's head. "I think it's better this way rather than telling her the truth all over again. At least we can try to sort her memories slowly."
"Right…"
"Don't worry, little sister." Gray smirked. "You're the only one in Natsu's eyes."
A blush made its way to Lucy's cheeks. "Y—yeah."
Gray stifled his laugh upon seeing how red Lucy's face was. His sister is way too cute!
Done !

Truthfully, I also don't know how my imagination came up with this *haha*
I can't spoil what I'm planning for a few chapters ahead, but I can say that I let my imagination roams free *LOL*
