Hello all!
First off im gonna say thanks for all the kind words you have been giving, it really helps motivate me to write this.
I can't belive we are already at chapter 20! i never though any of my books would make it passed 18 or 19 but this is already on 20! and i havnt even introduced the climax or my favorite character (OC)
you guys don't understand what this charcter means for me i made up this charcter 5 years ago and over those 5 years he has changed and adapted.
he is a dragon i will say that and his species is a combination of multiple different dragons from the films and shows and I must admit when you think of all the different abilities and aspects he has he is kind of OP (for example this dragon is immune to the banging sound that effects most if not all dragons because i don't think we've ever seen a dragon that is immune to that.)
anyway i'm gonna need someone to stop me from ranting about this dragon. so enjoy!
chapter 20- "kiss and tears"
(Cami perspective)
(during her chieftess training)
"Mom, this is boring." I whined
"I know but you have to learn this stuff." she said sympathetically
"When will I ever need to know ALL the peace treaties?"
"If war were to ever break out across the archipelago you will need to do what's in the best interests of the village, that means choosing which side to ally with or if you're gonna ally with anyone at all." she explained
"Fine…"
There was a knock at the door
My face turned red as I remembered what happened the last time we were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Hiccup, Thuggory you know I can't hangout today." I said to the door
The knocking persisted
I stood up and walked to the door with a sigh.
I opened it and had a pair of lips forced onto mine
I was shocked and quickly pulled away
I looked at the face that the lips belonged to and my blood began to boil
"SNOTLOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" I roared
"Just making sure my baby is ok." he said calmly
"Get out of my sight." I threatened.
Tindra walks up hearing the commotion
"What's the matter Cami?"
"This warthog, just kissed me!"
"Did you…?"
"Consent? No! Never!" I confirmed
"I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." she said firmly to Snotlout
"Can I give my baby something first?" he asked
"You can give me my space!" I shouted and slammed the door
"If he becomes chief of Berk, i'll see to it that we won't ever have a treaty with them." I mumbled
(omniscient narrator)
The young boy realised what he had heard before the young blonde girl opened the door, to say the least it confused him. Hiccup left, he thought. So why did she say Hiccup and Thuggory?
And who is Thuggory?
Snotlout was rejected and he doesnt take well to rejection. So he decided he'd ruin the lives of Cami, Enginn, whoever this Thuggory character was and if he could figure out where he was he'd make Hiccup's life a perpetual nightmare.
(Hiccup's perspective)
(later that week)
"I must admit you're getting better." I said to Thuggory after he had landed with Toothless
"He's doing the flying. All I have to do is stay on." he shrugged
"Well even still, you're doing good at that." I said
"Bertha invited me over for dinner, even though I live in the same house." I said
"Would you like to join us?" I continued
"If it's ok with Bertha yeah."
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind." I said
"Ok sure." he said and the two of us walked out of the cove and back to the village.
(Thuggory perspective)
(eating dinner with Hiccup, Cami, Bertha and Tindra)
We had roast lamb for our meal and a bit of stew to go with it, it tasted amazing.
But that wasn't my focus of the evening.
I was focused on Cami.
She was acting nervous ever since we came, she would twidle her fingers or constantly keep messing with her hair
"I could help teach Cami politics." Hiccup said
Bertha beamed at the idea
"That'd be great, what do you think Cami?" Bertha said
When no one heard a response we all turned to her. She had been quiet all evening.
Bertha nudged her with her elbow
"What?" she said in a confused tone
"Oh yeah that'd be great." she said in a bland tone
I looked over to see Hiccup's reaction
I swear I could see his heart plummet
"A good spar usually helps her to clear her mind." I said as I stood up and motioned Cami to follow me.
She hesitated but out of the view of others I repeated the motion; this time as a command.
She stood up and followed me out into the backyard.
(Cami's perspective)
I followed Thuggory out into the backyard.
I felt like I had a pit in my stomach even though I just ate.
"What's up?" He asked
I stayed silent
"Cami…" he said in a warning tone
I once again remained silent
"Cami i will go back in there and make a scene." he threatened
"I don't want to talk right now." I said quietly
I knew that I wasn't my strong confident self right now,
The reason why was because now I started wondering whether my whole life was a lie? Am I adulterous? Will Hiccup hate me? Will I be shamed? These questions flew around my head as fast as Toothless.
"Cami i'm here for you." he said switching tactics
"As your big brother it's my job to help you, no matter what it is." he assured
"If you don't want me to, I won't tell anyone." he said
"Fine…" I sighed
"Snotlout came by while I was learning about how to be chief…" I said
"I didn't know it was him at first, I thought it was you guys and I told you and Hic…" I stopped when I realised what I said
My eyes widened
I sat on a small rock and covered my face with my hands.
(Thuggory's perspective)
I watched as she held her head. I thought it was in stress until I heard the plat plat of tears landing on the ground.
I gave her a hug just to let her know that i'm still here and she can talk if she needs to
"Who do you want to talk to?" I asked
She didn't say anything
"Do you feel comfortable talking to me or do you want Hiccup or Bertha or...-?"
"No. you're good." she said
She slowly stopped crying.
"Gods, i've betrayed Hiccup twice in one day." she sighed
"I highly doubt that." I said
"Snotlout came to the door, he knocked. I didn't know it was him, I thought it was you and Hiccup who came to see if I could hangout."
"Without getting up to open the door I said 'Hiccup, Thuggory you know I cant hangout today.'"
"Thuggory I said 'Hiccup' not Enginn." she said stressing that fact
"It's ok, it's a simple mistake." I said
"That's not the worst part though."
"Snotlout continued knocking even after that… so I went and opened the door and as soon as I did I felt his lips on mine. I only realised who it was once I pushed him off me. I was enraged."
"Oh." I said
"Am I adulterous now?" she asked
"Gods no! Not unless you enjoyed it, which I'm sure you didn't."
"You're right. I didn't."
"Plus he never asked for your consent. Which technically makes what he did against the law."
"You're not gonna tell anyone right?" she asked
"I won't. But you should probably tell Bertha about this and especially Hiccup."
"But you won't tell him right?" she said determined
"No I won't tell him, but Snotlout might and he will blow it out of proportions, saying you enjoyed it and you asked him to kiss you."
"Ok fine."
"Let's go finish dinner." I said as I gently guided her back inside.
(Hiccup's perspective)
(the next day in the house)
Today was weird. Cami would be talking excitedly about something, then Thuggory would give her a pointed look and she would quiet down really quickly leaving the conversation on a very abrupt end. This happened many times throughout the day.
We were hanging out in my room while I was explaining my ideas on how I can improve some weapons.
Suddenly Thuggory stood up annoyed and walked out of my room and closed the door then I heard a lock click.
"Thuggory what are you doing?" I asked annoyed
"Cami wants to tell you something." he responded
I turned to Cami beside me
"Do you know something about this?" I asked
"Yeah." she sighed
She walked over to my bed and sat down
She gestured to sit in a chair across from her
Instead I sat beside her on the bed.
She quickly stood up and moved to the chair she had indicated
I made to sit next to her on a stool but she stopped me
"No. once you hear what I have to say you won't want to be near me." she said sadly
"No matter what it is you and I will be ok." I said
"No it's not."
"Let me be the judge of that." I said
"Fine…"
"I was learning about tribal politics when there was a knock on the door. I thought it was you and Thuggory. So that's what I said 'Hiccup, Thuggory you know I cant hangout today.'"
"What's wrong with that?" I asked
"I said Hiccup." she said
"I'm not following." I said
"You're getting ahead of yourself." Thuggory said through the door.
"I said Hiccup not Enginn. But it wasn't you or Thuggory at the door."
"Oh… that's fine I was bound to be found out anyway." I said
"That's not all." she said
Her voice was shaky as well as her entire body and it wasn't because of her usual excitement.
"Snotlout kissed me." she finally said
I was silent for a beat
"Formally or romantically?" I asked already knowing the answer
"Romanticly." she said quietly
I stood up and began pacing the room
Both of us were silent.
That is until I punched the wall hard enough to crack it.
"You hate me don't you." she said sadly
"No, I hate Snotlout for making you feel like that." I said through gritted teeth
Then I looked over at her shaking form. My anger melted away and was replaced with compassion
I walked over to her and crouched in front of her
"I'm guessing his lips tasted horrible." I said trying to make her smile
"You aren't wrong." she said sadly with her head buried in her arms
"I know how to fix that." I said slyly
"How?" she asked lifting her face
I quickly kissed her on the lips for a lot longer than Snotlout did
"That's how." I said after separating.
"You taste much better." she said smiling
you might notice i'm trying to stick to only a few characters perspectives mainly Hiccup, Camicazi and Thuggory i will also use Gobber to explain the events on Berk and the omniscient Narrator for things that the dragons do, Bertha is the exception in that i don't really know if i will keep her perspective. same goes for the omniscient Narrator because if i do have the dragons talk i wont really have a use for him. so let me know on the pole on my profile.
