"So, what are you going to do, Kagome?"
"I don't know."
The women sat in the hot spring in silence. Almost silence. Kagome's coughs echoed in their ears. Neither of them knew what to say. Kagome was about to apologize. She wasn't sure why, but she felt like it needed to be said. However, Sango spoke first.
"Can you tell me more about the disease? Maybe if I understand it better, I can actually come up with a way to help you." Sango's lips were pressed into a straight line, but didn't look as dejected as Kagome felt.
Kagome thought it was hopeless but it wasn't like she had anything else to do. She nodded her head in agreement.
