It didn't take a genius to figure out where their thoughts were.
One of the men wore a vile smirk as he leered at Rin, and Kagome instinctively pulled the girl behind her to hide her from the man's sickening stare.
The other two men smiled falsely at Kagome, trying to appear harmless, but she was no fool.
I see you, she thought.
"You have no reason to fear," the man in the middle spoke, hands raised in a placating gesture as he stepped closer.
Kagome bristled, the blood draining from her face, and she reached back for her bow.
