Anyway, enough of me blabbering, please continue to read on to your hearts content and please leave a review when done as your opinions matter.
~You are what you do, not what you say you do~
Loud thumps were heard, making the ground shake, these steps got closer and closer as the giant who was making the steps slowly got closer and closer to the Southern isles castle.
Holding onto the finger Anna looked as the castle got closer and closer, a certain excitement and dread filled Anna as the though of the future battle to come the moment they arrived to the castle.
Suddenly there was a shake, the giant stopped and looked around.
"What's wrong?" asked the Gjengengar as she and Anna also proceeded to look around. Suddenly there was a yell, looking down they saw trees reached and pierced through the giants legs. It caused the giant to stumble a bit but held firm and stall.
"No" said Anna even more when she saw trolls, they all ran to the center and gathered there, growing larger and larger tile together they formed a beast made out of stone.
It roared at them as it readied for a fight. Anna grew tense even more when she felt a tug in her shoulder, looking behind she saw it was the Gjengengar. Holding her she said "It's up to you now" before wrapping a shadow around Anna and threw her into the air, whipping it back then throwing Anna. Sending her flying towards the castle.
Anna screamed as she "flew" through the sky, going through a window and landing on a well placed bed. Landing with an omph Anna got up and dusted herself before running over to the window she went through and looked out just in time to see the beast collide with the giant. It roared as the two pushed against one another, the giant punched the beast and the beast charged again and jumped against the giant sending the two back.
Anna backed away before turning around and running out the room and through the halls. The giant was doing his part, she would do hers and help stop this madness.
Gagging and choking the devil troll ran away, behind him Elsa and Hans chased after him. He growled in anger as he continued, stopping to gag in pain as the draugr curse continued to take the over.
The devil troll would not succumb to the draugrs curse! He knew very well it was a double edge sword, but there was a loophole, yes the curse affected both the draugr and the one who the draugr cursed, but if the draugr succumbed to the curse first then the one cursed would be free of it. If he lasted long enough then Hans would be destroyed and he would be free!
As he ran he stopped when he spotted Anna, she spotted him too but before she could react he grabbed her and held her tight, pulled out a dagger and pressed it against her neck as he growled "Don't make another move!".
Running through the halls Hans and Elsa chases, trying to corner the devil troll. Stopping they almost slammed against one another in shock and horror as the devil troll held Anna by her pigtails.
"Don't make another move" he warned as he held a dagger over Anna's neck, pressing the blade and threatening to cut open her throat.
"You don't have to do this!" said Elsa begging, she did not know what to do,
"Oh it's not about whether I have to, it's because I want to and I can" said The devil troll then hummed as he though then said "Of course you could always change my mind" as he removed the dagger from Anna's neck.
Seeing their silence he continued "You will surrender your body to me Elsa, I will posses you and your powers to bring forth the glorious age of darkness",
"No... no" said Elsa backing away, how could she do that?
"Then you will have the pleasure of seeing your sisters blood be spilled unto your feet" warned the devil troll as he moved the dagger, hovering it over Anna's neck once more, dangerously close to her jugular vein.
Elsa stared back and forth between Anna, the devil troll and Hans. The devil troll looked cool and confident in his actions, Anna looked like a mixture between fear and anger as she struggled against the grip which held her by her hair, Hans looked but his face was blank, trying to show no emotions, but she knew that he did not know what to do. For the first time... he did not have a plan... nothing to get them or even himself out of this mess. She herself began to falter, in one hand she could not accept for if she did her sister would die either way and the world would be doomed but if she did not then her sister would be dead, she could not let that happen!
What was she to do?! It was doom if she did and doom if she did not!
"Tick tock Elsa, time is running out or is it that you never cared about your sister? Frankly it does not surprise me, you never cared for anybody but yourself and your sister? She is nothing! She is powerless. Not even strong enough to do anything" said The devil troll then scoffed "You lot are pathetic"
As he talked raged filled Anna, seeing him taunt Elsa, heading him speak so low and think they did not care. As if they were the dirt beneath his feet. It made Anna's blood boil, she was not going to do anything and for the first time... her anger served her well.
"NO!" Anna screamed so loud that the devil troll was startled, turning to look he was met with a fist as it collided on his face, breaking his nose. Yelling he dropped the dagger as he reached to cover his face. Somehow grabbing it as it fell, she turned to run but the devil held her hair in a vice grip despite the fact that he was in pain.
In a fast and decisive move Anna reached behind her and with a swift movement cut off her hair thus freeing herself. As soon as she did she ran to Elsa and Hans while the devil troll was left holding her pigtails.
"Anna thank god!" yelled Hans as he and Elsa were relieved when she ran to their arms, she hugged Elsa, then Hans in relief.
"Yes... yes I am fine" said Anna calming down,
"Anna... your hair" said Elsa sadly as she saw that Anna hair was cut above her ears giving her the look of a boys hair cut. She was sad for Anna, she always had pride in her hair, so having to cut it... to Elsa it was terrible as it was a needless sacrifice.
"He can keep it!" said Anna as she did not care for her hair when the whole world was at stake, with a smile she held up her prize "I much rather have this" as she showed them the dagger she got which would now be her own.
Recovering the devil troll looked at the hair then at Anna as he realized his plan had failed before screaming in rage "You horrible disgusting brat!" as he threw the pigtails to the ground before running up the stairs to the tower.
"He is not getting away with this!" yelled Hans as he ran ahead with Elsa and Anna following close by as they climbed up the stairs to face the devil troll once and for all.
Cornered the devil troll ran to a door, slamming it open he burst through and ran up the stairs cursing and yelling. How could his plan fail!? He was careful! He planned everything down to the last detail!
The devil trolls foot hit the top stair causing him to trip and fall face first. Scrambling he got up to his feet and looked around, he was trapped.
Cursing and yelling he turned to face Elsa, Anna and Hans who had chased after him. Blocking his only exit Anna said "Give up! There is nowhere for you to run!"
Growling the devil troll took several steps back, bending down his body began to contour and change, twisting its form as it grew large, long arms and sharp claws. Flexing his fingers he growled before swapping and clawing.
Dodging the attacks, the three worked together, Hans would punch and kick when he was able, Anna would slash and stab with the dagger, Elsa would swing her sword and try to strike at the devil troll.
Turning around the devil troll smacked Elsa away, sending her flying across the room before she crashed against a wall. A bit disoriented she got up, holding her head her mind went a mile a minute as she tried to piece together how to defeat the devil troll.
From what she remembered the devil troll had non, no weakness, in fact the only thing she could come up with was.
"The destruction of the elements" muttered Elsa as she remembered what her grandfather had said, something about the elements being tied or giving power to the devil troll or something like that.
But that could not be right as all the elements were destroyed, all of them except...
Elsas eyes widen in realization, looking down at the reflective blade then at Hans and Anna. Her sister who kicked the devil troll only to be grabbed by her leg and thrown against Hans who broke her hit and sent the two down, landing they scrambled to get up and try again.
"Anna! Hans!" Elsa cried out as she steeled herself to do what she was going to do.
"Not now!" yelled Anna as she bend down barely dodging a flying fist from the devil troll.
"Please! I have to tell you both something! If I don't now I will not have a chance!" shouted Elsa,
"Now is not really a time for talking!" yelled Hans as he moved , dodging a kick and throwing a punch, barely landing on the side of the devil trolls head.
"Hear me out!" Elsa shouted and continued "Anna! I want you to know I am sorry for everything I put you through! For all the broken promises! For all the pain and hurt! If I could go back in time and change everything I would in a heart beat! Anna your my hero! You always have been! I know people always talk about me, painting me like some goddess or something! But you! You deserve all the credit and praise! And I am sorry for taking everything and more from you!"
She took a pause then continued "And Hans, I am so sorry! I am sorry for lying to you! I am sorry I dragged you into my mess! You did not deserve what you got and if I could change places with you I would... but what I can do is tell you this... I meant what I said before! I really do wish I had met you instead of Anna and... I do care! I more than care I... I don't know what I feel but I more than care for you! You have no idea how jealous I am at Anna",
"Now is not the time to bring that up!" said Hans before he was punched and sent back by the troll.
"It is... because if I don't now... I will never have the chance" said Elsa as she moved the sword,
"What are you talking abo-" Anna stopped and stared in horror as she saw Elsa raise the sword, pointing it at her abdomen.
"Elsa!" yelled Anna making Hans look,
"No!" The two screamed as Elsa stabbed herself with the blade, gagging and crying out in pain she forced the blade out and stabbed herself again, going deeper this time before collapsing on the ground as Anna and Hans ran over to her side as she bled out.
Meanwhile the devil troll look on in horror, "No..." he whispered before crying out, once again his form began to contour and change before it was forcibly split into three, the first two being King Stephen and Agnaar, the last one...
It was the most terrifying of all.
It was tall, with unusually long and bony arms and legs, it's skin was dark oily, it had no face, yet it saw everything. This was the devil trolls true form, it's actual physical form.
Flashback:
"I died... but... I am here... why?" whispered Njord... no... not Njord... Agnaar as he remembered now.
Suddenly another violent shake broke his train of thoughts as he looked around, parts of the ceiling began to fall to the ground, they were small but Agnaar knew it was only a matter of time before the roof completely collapsed on top of him.
As he backed away he froze when he saw blackness slowly cover the mirror, it started out with small veins of darkness, like one would initially get when they would put a drop of black dye on water, but soon it became more and more till it covered the mirror completely followed by an evil chuckle.
The next thing Njord now Agnaar knew a dark clawed hand reached from the mirror, grabbing unto him and dragging him into the mirror. Agnaar yelled and pulled, trying to free himself, but it able to as he was pulled into the mirror.
A moment passed before a dark blob came out, in its grasp was Stephen and Agnaar, who both were soon absorbed into the blob and formed into one being.
With its new physical form the devil troll smirked and left to make his plan a reality. Walking pass the halls he used the truth mirror to bring out the darkness out of everything.
Holding up its arms the devil troll howled in anger when he saw he had regained its true physical form meaning his plan had been ruined "What did you do?!", but Hans and Anna payed no mind as they fell to their knees next to Elsa who was bleeding out.
"No" whimpered Anna, she was angry at Elsa, but she never wished this on her!
Hans just stared, not knowing how to react to this. How could she do this?! Why?!
Neither realized the devil troll made his way over, it's arm raised as he was ready to strike. Groaning Agnaar looked up, his eyes widen and yelled "Watch out!".
Looking up Hans and Anna were not able to react as the devil troll swung down, ready to strike, when all of a sudden his strike was stopped. Looking up Hans and Anna stared in shock as a shadow chain was wrapped around his arm, stopping the strike. Growling the Devil troll look behind only to have more chains wrap around him, pulling him down to the ground.
He yelled in anger, even more when they saw who was pulling it.
"Elsa?" asked Anna in shock as she stared at her sister. Her skin was gray and shadowy, her dress made out of shadows, much like the Gjengengar... she had become a Gjengengar!
With anger in her eyes Elsa pulled on the chains, going backwards into the mirror that had been used as the devil trolls prison she growled "I am done being your puppet! Now your my puppet!" she continued to pull and drag the Devil troll, entering the mirror behind her.
"No! No! You cannot do this to me you brat!" he roared in anger,
"Yes! We will stay in this miserable mirror forever!" Declared Elsa as she pulled herself into the mirror, it absorbed her along with the devil troll as it was dragged along.
Hans and Anna stared in shock at the scene before them as the devil troll disappeared into the mirror along with Elsa. After a time they looked at one another, it was clear that they had the same though. Getting up on their feet Hans grabbed the reflective blade and Anna the dagger before running towards the mirror.
Realizing what they were doing Stephen and Agnaar yelled.
"Stop! What are you doing?!" yelled Agnaar, he had lost one daughter, he cannot loose the other.
"Your both insane! You cannot beat the devil troll!" yelled Stephen.
This caused Anna and Hans to stop as they reached the mirror, they turned and glared at the two as if saying "Watch us!" before turning and pressing their hands on the mirror, the surface turned to liquid it seems, they pushed in and soon they were gone.
Sent backwards the giant held unto the beast as it snarled and bit unto the rock and wood arm, trying to tear it off. Turning the giant moved so it was on top of the beast, pinning it down as it proceeded to punch the beast over and over.
It howled in pain, letting go of the arm, using both hands the giant picked and threw the beast against the sea, leading it out of the town to the sea where the fight could continue without anybody getting hurt.
Punches and claws were exchanged before the giant punched the beast, sending it down, forcing its feet into the beast mouth the giant grabbed the top of its head and pulled, tearing its jaw and head apart. The beast crumbled, falling apart in its hands and falling into the sea into pieces.
Dropping the pieces the giant turned and made its way to the castle. Ready to help as best it could.
It was dark as if they had stepped inside of an obsidian stone especially with the shadows and a strange fog or cloudiness that surrounded the area, all around there seemed to be some reflective mirrors of sorts, but instead of reflecting what was in front of them, it reflected what was outside.
Moving with determination Hans and Anna followed the yells till they found Elsa with the devil troll, the devil troll continued to yell and struggle against the shadowy chains, Elsa strained and grunted, trying to keep the devil troll from escaping.
"Elsa!" called Anna, hearing Elsa turned to look at them, her face turned to horror before she screamed "What are you two doing here?!",
"Elsa please let us help you!" yelled Anna,
"No! You two need to leave! Please go! Live your lives! Please let me do this for all of you!" cried Elsa, during this time the devil troll took advantage of the fact that she was distracted to grab one of the chains and pull it hard, causing Elsa to jerk forward, the devil troll swung and punched Elsa sending her flying and crashing against the ground.
Ripping off the chains the devil troll looked at them, he had no face, but if he had eyes they would see that it promised death to them as he screamed "I will tear you all apart!".
Anna, Hans and Elsa regained a defensive stance, the devil troll charged in anger, the three dodged, Elsa shot a chain, wrapping it around the arm and holding it out allowing Anna to jump and slash the arm causing the devil troll to scream, it bled... bled for the first time...
Rage continued to boil as it swung, Elsa shot another chain, this time it wrapped around his leg and pulled, tripping the devil troll.
Once on the ground Hans stabbed the devil troll, it turned and smacked Hans away.
"Enough! You cannot beat me!".
You cannot, your foolish, its not possible, its too hard, its impossible, all negative words, all the words that Elsa, Anna and Hans heard of use. But no more! Time to turn the can't to a can, the impossible into possible.
Summoning all the shadow chains she could Elsa threw all of them at the devil troll, the devil troll dodged but soon realized his horrible miscalculation.
As he dodged Hans and Anna took position quickly, when he jumped back Hans ran and went behind the devil troll, pressing the blade against his chest, piercing its chest, meanwhile Anna jumped in front of him, raised the dagger and stabbed him in the neck.
The devil troll gagged and struggled, but the more he did the more the blades dug into him. Blood spilled, strength left and finally the devil troll collapsed on the ground.
Pulling out the blade and dagger Hans and Anna backed away, Elsa walked over and stood next to them. Taking in what happened..
They won...
They beat the devil troll!
Before they could celebrate the area began to shake, pieces and shadows fell off.
"Let's get out of here" called Anna as she turned to leave, Elsa followed, but as Hans was going he stopped as his eye caught something.
Turning he looked out into the darkness, narrowing his eyes as he noticed movement behind the darkness.
"What is that?" He though as he walked to get a closer look only to jump back when a hand shot out and grabbed the devil trolls body, dragging it over into the darkness. What followed was a sickening crunch, followed by horrifying screams of pain and loud munching before a swallowing sound followed silence. Taking a step closer to get a better look Hans jumped back when he heard a menacing growl as bright glaring eyes seemed to appear out of nowhere, they glared at him with evil intent.
Had he been able to, he would have pissed himself from fright as the dark evil figure covered with darkness and shadows towered over him.
Finally when he regained his mobility Hans turned and ran, ran as fast as his legs could carry him, catching up to Elsa and Anna, actually pushing them and himself out of the mirror they came from.
Falling to the other side Hans turned, grabbing a nearby stone and slamming it against the dark reflective glass, breaking it into many pieces.
Dropping the stone he backed away, shaking from the evil he had seen.
"Hans, what's wrong? What..." Anna was not able to finish as the building began to shake. Pieces began to fall as the castle was going to collapse.
"Run!" yelled Elsa as she vanished. No more needed to be said, Hans, Anna and Agnaar ran, stopping Hans turned back around, grabbed Elsas body, holding her bridal style Hans carried it away as he ran. Behind him Stephen got up, but before he could react and run after them to safety the roof of the tower collapsed, crushing him in an instant.
Making their way out Hans, Anna and Agnaar struggled as the place was shaking and falling apart. When suddenly it stopped.
For a moment the group stopped and looked, the debri was floating in the air, before then appeared the Gjengengar. She was the one using her power to keep the debris from crushing them. Meanwhile outside they saw the giant, it was holding the castle with its hands, keeping it stable.
Turning the Gjengengar pointed out the door, in a silent way of saying "Go".
With that Hans, Anna and Agnaar ran out the door, down the hall, pass the throne room and right out of the front door.
Even when they were outside they continued to run as the giant let go, causing the castle to collapse and break apart, fall to the ground into nothing but a mound of stone and broken pieces.
Though that happened Hans, Anna and Aymara continued to run, only stopping when they tripped over the sandy beach, pretty far away from the castle and town. Stopping they turned and watched, the sun was rising and making its way through the ocean was the giant made out of other draurgs.
"They are going home" whispered Anna, Hans nodded understanding as he bend down and placed Elsas body down.
Agnaar and Anna fell to their knees, the loss hitting them hard. Despite all that happened, their love for Elsa still remained strong.
Bending down Anna burst crying, Agnaar pulled his daughter over, holding her as they cried.
Hans looked between the two, the heart broken father and daughter then at Elsa. Reaching into the pocket he pulled out the bottle with the elixir that had been given to him by the mountain.
Clutching unto the bottle Hans looked between the bottle and Elsa.
This was probably his only chance to go back to life, to get the happily ever after he had always been searching for, but has always alluded him. Yes he felt he deserved it after all he went through.. but... would he be able to live with that if he did?
And Anna... she would never forgive him if he chose to save himself... and Elsa... what about the people of Arendelle? What would be waiting for him if he chose to save himself?
Hans though and pondered, this was a big choice... almost impossible... but in the end... he made his choice...
He opened the bottle... and soon placed it back on the ground empty, the reflective blade besides it... before getting up and walking away. Unnoticed by Anna and Agnaar as they were too busy grieving the death of Elsa, her sister, his daughter.
To be continued...
Authors note: Nooo! What was the choice? Did Hans saved himself or Elsa? I will not say.
