Foxy woke up in the backroom alone once again, his eye patch was placed back over his eye. His body was sore and his joints creaked as he moved indicating either he had ran his course or he needed some WD40. It reminded him of when he would get back from the gym all those nights and would barely be able to move at times, to be fair, he was an older man by the time. He didn't have the endurance he had during his deployments anymore, sadly this body wasn't too forgiving either. He could do nearly anything but it was clear it costed him greatly as he looked down at his body and tried to move. Though, he couldn't tell whether it was actual pain or exhaustion -maybe a mix of both.
"I wonder what time it is," He said aloud as he sat up and slid off the table. "I wonder if that had anything to do with it," He groaned as he connected with the floor and looked over at the table.
He stepped over to the door in the dim back room and opened it slightly seeing the others were sitting at the table eating dinner and watching TV, shockingly the Marionette was out there also talking with them. He stepped out, his knee making a loud metal-on-metal sound as he put his foot on the floor gaining the attention of the others.
"Damn, can you be any louder," Toy Freddy joked as he walked from to the table from the hallway
"Not my fault, bud," He replied as he walked out the rest of the way and climbed off the stage.
"That eye patch looks good on you," Bonnie taunted him from the table.
"Shut up," He chuckled as he walked over and sat on the table behind them, letting his feet dangle. "I guess this was probably one of the shortest times that I've blacked out," Foxy said with a sigh.
Bonnie looked at him with a shocked look.
"What," The red vulpine questioned in confusion.
"Foxy, you were out for a few days," Bonnie told him as he looked around seeing that Vixey wasn't at the table.
"Wait, what the-" He went to shout as the Marionette shot a tentacle over and wrapped it around his maw mumbling him.
"Don't yell," Everyone told him in a hushed tone.
"I swear, if you wake up those two we will not hear the end of it," Freddy said with seriousness in his voice.
Foxy grabbed the tentacle and ripped it away before it spoke again, "What do you mean 'two?"
"Well, to say the least, you're a father again," Freddy said with a slight grin.
Foxy jumped up from the table and ran up the stage into the backroom quickly, before he jumped across the room to the ladder and climbed up before he shouted in happiness and jumped about the room, most likely garnering the attention of several people wondering why some maniac is shouting, "YES," across the city. He grabbed a tarp that was partially covered in snow and tossed it off the roof by accident trying to throw it to the other side of the roof.
"What the hell," He heard someone say from below causing him to jump down the hole and fell chuckling.
"That was amazing," He said gleefully as he got to feet once again and stepped out the backroom to the stage.
"Was that needed," Bonnie asked him with a chuckle.
"Very," Foxy replied as he hopped off the stage noticing he no longer felt constrained as he did a second ago.
"You're too hyper to see them right now," Toy Chica said nodding her head left-to-right as she blocked the way to the cove.
"Really," He groaned slouching a bit.
"Hey, I'm not getting cussed out tonight," She replied as he sat at the table.
"Fair enough," He said as he leaned back in his chair, his elbow creaking once again as he moved it.
"Foxy, you need to start eating something. The reason your joints are creaking so bad is that your body has had no materials to create more 'blood' or 'oil,' if you will," Goldy told him from the end of the table.
"Haven't really had the time to eat anything," He replied with a slight chuckle as he pulled a plate toward him and got a slice of pizza.
"Foxy, I'll need to talk with you soon," The Marionette said as Toy Chica sat beside Toy Bonnie and Foxy ate.
Foxy gave him a thumbs up from the other side of the table. They played cards at the end of the table as he ate: Freddy won three games, Bonnie somehow won seven (Including the wins before Foxy woke up), Toy Freddy hadn't won a game yet, and Toy Bonnie wasn't even playing anymore because Toy Chica had been flirting with him too much. The Marionette had left the table already to go do his usual things. The red vulpine had finished the pizza to Freddy's surprise who stared at him with a shocked look.
"When was the last time you ate," Freddy asked him with a tone of disbelief as Goldy had Bonnie deal him a hand of cards.
"I have no idea," Foxy said as he leaned back into his chair resting his hands on his stomach. "I know my stomach hurts now," He added with a chuckle.
"Son of a-" Freddy exclaimed as he knocked over a cup and it spilled to the floor.
"That's what you get," Goldy chuckled as he threw his final card on the table while Bonnie laughed at Freddy's reaction.
"Do we got any towels or napkins," He asked picking up the ice and throwing it in the cup.
"Yeah, I'll go grab one from the locker room in the employees' lounge," Foxy said getting up and walking towards the door that was neighboring the waiting area.
He walked inside to see that nothing much had changed aside from there being a few papers scattered around on a table, he continued through the room into the locker room to see that there were only a few clean towels left. He picked up one of the dirty ones and walked back to the main room, Freddy had cleaned up the ice already as he neared the Brown Bear and handed him the towel.
"Thanks," He said as he dropped it to the floor and started drying the floor.
"No problem," Foxy replied as he looked around seeing that the toys were on the stage practicing with Chica sitting at the edge of the table closest giving them a small audience. "I think I'm going to go check up on Vixey and see how she's holding up right now."
"Whatever you do, don't piss her off," Bonnie said as he stared at his cards keenly.
"10-4," He replied referencing their first encounter together earning a slight chuckle from the purple rabbit.
He walked over to the cove's entrance and looked inside seeing that it was changed from how they originally had it. The stage was no longer made up like a dock and instead had a singular desk with several books and a lamp on it, the posts and crates that once littered the stage were removed, and the curtains covered the ship that was in the back area. The red vulpine looked to the left corner of the room, farthest from the stage, seeing that there were several boxes piled.
"I guess that they are supposed to be in the storage room," He assumed stepping through the room towards the bedroom door.
He placed his hand on the knob and turned it letting the door loose and he pushed it slightly seeing inside the room to the right. There wasn't much difference aside from a crib in the corner beside the desk.
"Lorenzo takes too good care of us," He mumbled to himself as he stood in the doorway.
"Foxy, I see your muzzle," A familiar voice said softly from inside the room causing him to smile.
"I didn't expect you to be awake," He admitted as he stepped inside and shut the door quietly.
He turned around to see her laying on the bed with a drowsy look as she held a small fur-covered ball close to her chest. He felt happy seeing them there as he walked over. The fur-ball had dominantly white fur with a reddish highlight running down her back, assuming it was a girl that is. The thought of robots having genders still boggled his mind but he didn't think too much on it as he laid down beside Vixey and wrapped his arm around her shoulders pulling her into a partial embrace.
"As you can see; Lorenzo took care of where she'll sleep," Vixey said softly as she laid her head on his chest.
"Knowing you, you'll cuddle her in your arms at night," He said with a smile as he kissed the top of her head earning a giggle from her, soon sitting around silent as he held her.
"How long have you been awake," She asked with a yawn as she continued laying against his chest.
"Probably an hour at most," He replied rubbing her shoulder, his elbow creaking out of nowhere making him stop.
"Jeez, I guess you are a nearly forty-year-old animatronic," She remarked as she looked up at him.
"Shh," He told her with a silent chuckle as she looked at him with a slightly annoyed face.
"Really," She asked him as he continued chuckling silently.
"Do you want me to leave you alone? I need to talk with the Marionette anyways," He said to her.
"No," She sighed as she closed her eyes.
"Alright, then," He replied as he laid his head on hers. "I still need to go talk with the Marionette."
"Why didn't you do that before you laid down, then," She asked him looking a bit disappointed.
"I wanted to see you," He replied as he shuffled from under her carefully and got off the bed.
"Well, hurry up I guess," She told him as he started walking towards the door
"I will," He replied as he opened the door and stepped out the room, shutting it behind him.
He walked out the dim cove seeing that the others were still on the stage. Freddy and Goldy were still in a showdown of a game of cards, neither had won still. The red vulpine walked to the prize corner and knocked on the large present box that had been bolted down all those weeks previously, the Marionette opened the top and threw it back as he stood up.
"So, are you ready to talk," He asked Foxy who began leaning on the prize corner.
"I guess so, what do you need to talk about," He asked the black puppet.
"What happened the other day," The Marionette questioned him.
"What do you mean," Foxy asked a bit confused.
"When you got possessed or whatever," He replied.
"I don't really know how to explain it… I guess the best way would be to explain everything," The red vulpine started, explaining to him what happened before he constrained him in the main room and what happened in the void, the void interesting the Marionette the most.
"So, what are the importance of those 'orbs' or whatever you'd call them," He asked the Marionette who looked confused. "The thing I took out of the safe a few weeks back."
The Marionette looked at him with a smile as Foxy told him that, "Well, they are important as they are a 'physical' representation of our souls, however, they aren't 'real.' If you were to look in our bodies right now you wouldn't see a glowing orb. No, you'd see the pumps and tubing that runs along our endoskeletons with wires everywhere. And, of course, the hydraulics that you all have."
"So, they aren't something I should be able to crush," Foxy asked causing the Marionette's smile to turn into a frown.
"Foxy, you didn't crush one of the orbs, did you," The puppet asked in a serious tone.
"I crushed the two figures' orbs," He admitted shrugging it off.
The Marionette groaned a bit as he said that visibly in though, "We'll discuss that when and if it comes up. Right now enjoy the rest of your night," He said as he dropped into his box shutting the lid leaving the vulpine confused.
"Okay, then. Thanks, I'll talk with you later I guess," Foxy said as he stepped away from the prize corner back into the main room seeing them continuing their little show on stage, Freddy and Goldy still duking it out over the card game.
He walked past them towards the cove and looked inside once again, the plush that he gave Vixey all those weeks prior was in the middle of the room on a seat looking at the stage. He walked towards it cautiously as he looked at it in confusion.
"How did you get here," He asked as he picked it up and looked over it, along the back was a reddish stripe running down like it was painted or colored on it. "What the-?"
He turned around feeling that something was watching him and looked into the corner seeing that it was covered in darkness. He cut on the night vision mode and saw that there was an uncovered vent in the corner above the boxes, about eight to ten feet above the floor.
"I guess it was nothing," He said aloud not moving hoping to trick anything inside it, waiting silently for a few minutes as he stepped over towards the bedroom door continuing to look at the vent.
After a few minutes, nothing looked out of the vent causing him to shrug it off and open the door holding the plush behind his back.
"Hey," He called softly seeing that Vixey was partially asleep with the fur-ball in her arms on her chest.
"Hey," She replied with a yawn closing her eyes slightly as he walked beside her being careful to stay quiet.
"Want me to lay her down in the crib over there," He asked as he stood beside her.
"Nah," She told him barely finishing the single word without yawning.
"Alright," He replied, laying down beside her on his side as he placed his hand on her stomach, and petted the small child(?) lightly with his fingers.
The kit purred into Vixey's chest as he pet her making him chuckle as he opened the drawer slowly, placing the plush into it, and closed it silently as he shuffled a bit to get his arm back to where he could wrap it around her, laying his head beside hers kissing her cheek earning a smile. He closed his eyes happy to have his family back in his arms even if they weren't truly alive. Soon he was thinking about all that he had gone through to get here, to get his daughter back. The pain, anger, few tears… He had changed as he fought, he may have kept the same brutality, however, he grew more animalistic each time. Some things he saw in that void may haunt him forever, both physically and mentally. He just hoped he wouldn't ever let anyone else see that side of him as he fell asleep holding Vixey close to him.
