Chapter 20. This is it. The last chapter.
Are you ready, kids? (Aye, Aye Coolestjoy30!) I can't hear you! (Aye, Aye Coolestjoy30!) Ohhh…..
Let's get this show on the road, people! (very important A/N and review responses at the bottom, but please read first, I hope you enjoy!)
(Just quick...Sensei Wu was not lost in time!)
Nya woke up with a very sickening feeling in her stomach. She could hear conversation going on somewhere near her, and opened her eyes. She was in a comfortable room, laying on blue and maroon bed sheets. She looked around, noticing it was her room in the Monastery. Everything looked like it had never moved in the whole time she was gone. The picture of her and Jay on their second date sat beside blueprints for another mech, pencils scattered across it. She got up, felt soft fabric on her skin, and saw she was in her pyjamas. Well, I guess she was home. But, what happened between her blacking out and waking up?
Nya changed out of her pjs, and into her ninja gi. Before putting it on, she studied her ninja gi, observing that it was clean and mended, leaving no trace of the adventure she had. Was it because someone had repaired it, or the adventure never happened to them in the first place? Was it only a memory? Uhh, time travel. It was so confusing.
Her stomach pain only got worse as she made her way to the kitchen. She thankfully saw all her friends sitting at the table eating. Kai was shoving food into his mouth like he had never seen food before, unaware of his sister's presence. Everyone else, though, was taking the meal at a slow pace, Cole, Lloyd, Sensei Wu, Zane, and Jay. All younger, or, their normal age. Nya sighed with relief. She was really home.
Jay's head shot up when he heard Nya walk in. A huge smile shone on his face, and soon he had hopped out of his chair and embraced her, spilling orange juice onto Cole in the process.
"Nya! I'm so glad you are ok! You went missing for a week and none of us had any clue what had happened to until Dareth found you guys in the middle of the Sea of Sands, apparently he was on his way to visit my parents, no clue why, anyways, you guys were unconscious and it took Kai hours to wake up then you were not waking up an I was so worried! Are you feeling ok? Do you need me to grab anything. Please sit down, I'll go grab you a blanket andー"
"Jay," Nya said, interrupting Jay's anxious rant, and breaking the hug, " I'm great, just feeling sick. It's so nice to see you again. You don't have to do anything for me, I can do it myself, but thanks. I missed you."
Jay's smile grew even wider, Nya had no clue that that was even possible. "Sure Nya. I love you." Then, he quickly kissed her on the cheek, and sat down beside Cole, who was still trying to get the orange juice out of his gi.
Nya sat down beside Kai, her brother still stuffing himself with food. Nya cast him an odd look.
"You're feeling sick? I was, too, but eating really helps. Just start slow." He said, pushing a plate of breakfast towards her. Nya hesitantly picked up a fork and took a bite. Instantly the queasiness she felt decreased slightly. She began eating faster, until she was at a pace equal to Kai's.
"Kai and Nya, I advise that you eat a bit slower, we do not want you to choke." Zane said, putting everyone else's plates away. As the Nindroid was walking away, Kai finished his plate and threw it on the stack, perfectly getting it on the top. A loud burp soon followed.
"Show off." Jay said, soon hiding under the table as Kai's eyes flashed with anger. Nya looked under the table, and saw her boyfriend making his way to her brother, fork in hand. As soon as he was about to stab Kai's foot, the Fire Ninja's leg swung out, making contact with Jay's chest. He flew back, and, because he was under the table, Jay hit his head on the table leg, groaning. Nya stifled some laughter, but Cole and Lloyd, who had been watching the whole time, were howling. Lifting her head above the table once again, she saw Sensie Wu smiling at them, but with worry in his eyes.
"Zane, if you could quickly finish up, I think it is story time. Jay, Cole, Nya, and Lloyd, try to become serious again. And, Kai, be nice to your brother."
Once all of Sensei's orders were fulfilled, Sensei's wise eyes made their way around the table, resting on Kai and Nya.
"Now…. what happened? Nya, as Jay told you previously, you and your brother were missing for a full week, your last sighting being you two going after Krux and Acronix. Care to explain?"
Nya looked over at Kai, knowing that he should be the one to explain. Kai sighed, and sat up straighter.
" You see, guys...the Time Twins went to the future, and got us stuck there with them."
" Wait, you guys went to the future? How far in the future?" Cole said, his shocked expression visible on all of their faces, all but Sensei's. He stroked his long beard, digesting what Kai had said.
"Err...we don't have an exact time, but I think it was close to 20 years." Kai responded, calculating in his head.
"What happened? Did you meet the future ninja team? Are we still alive in 20 years? How did you get back? Does Cole ever fall in love? Is Sensei Wu still alive? TELL ME!" Jay spat out, going at his regular fast rate. Nya laughed. Boy, she really missed her boyfriend.
"We were told by two very wise people that it was best we not tell you anything, so that's exactly what we are going to do. What I will say is that we used a time machine, and must have punched in the wrong date. We should have gotten here on the same day we left."
"Logically, that is likely the error that occurred. It's a good thing you made it back at all."
"Yea, when we found you guys, your suits were all dirty and torn. We figured something bad must have happened." Cole butted in. Nya nodded, thankful that they had cleaned it. Now, thinking back, her suit really did smell.
"You're not going to tell us anything?" Jay said while pouting, and, to add to the effect, gave Nya puppy dog eyes. Nya smiled.
"Nope. A girl has her secrets. This will be one that you won't know about." Jay grinned at that, likely remembering the secret that he and Nya shared. Well, used to share. Now Kai knows. Nya would have to make him aware of that.
"Well, I say, you two have had quite the adventure. Good to have you two back." Sensei Wu stated before standing up and leaving. "Don't worry about training, I think you all deserve a break."
It was the evening, and Nya was not starved any longer. She felt relaxed while she messed with the main computer. Apparently, Jay and Cole had gotten into an argument and the Ninja of Lightning accidentally blasted it. Either Cole had great reflexes, or Jay was a rotten shot. Luckly, all it needed was a reboot and it would be good to go.
As the loading icon was bouncing around her computer, Nya heard someone come up behind her, hugging her. She did not even have to guess who it was.
"Hey, Jay. What's up?"
"I was wondering where you were. Everyone else is playing video games." Jay sat down in the seat beside her , his blue eyes shining. "What are you working on?"
"I'm fixing the computer after the infamous Lightning Ninja hit it. Really, Jay? Why?"
"Well, I was arguing with Cole, who showered me on earth, so I shocked him back. Wait, correction. Attempted to."
Nya looked back to the computer, the screen displaying that the reboot was nearly done.
"It's close to being fixed. Did you want to do something?" Jay asked, also observing the status.
"Sure, like what?"
" A movie, perhaps? On my laptop? Maybe...Back to the Future?"
Nya smiled " Sounds great. I'll be there in a few minutes. You better make popcorn, Blue Ninja."
Jay laughed. " Deal."
When Jay left, the computer had opened up the home screen, now done the reboot. Nya scrolled through the notifications, mostly from Kai's social media, but one caught her attention. Temporal Power for more information. Nya was about to click on it, but thought otherwise. It was probably from when Kai and Nya returned, no big deal. As she walked out of the room, the computer gave a slight ding, indicating that another notification had come up. Nya did not hear it. She did not see it. Before the computer shut off suddenly, the words IMMENSE TEMPORAL POWER DETECTED...WARNING... IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED...WARNING flashed across the screen. If only Nya had seen it.

Now, who do my readers like better...Dareth….or Misako?. Well, apparently everyone prefers Dareth. I like Dareth better, whenever he's in an episode you are groaning but still very much enjoying it. For me, though, I feel like Misako is not essential to the plot or the overall feel of the show. That's my opinion on it.
RPM Shadow: I have to give you a thank you...I was not completely sure what to do for the interactions between the Ninja when they returned...but when I read your review the idea used in this chapter popped into my head! So, thanks! And, I'm glad to hear the last chapter was up-to-par, thanks for the encouragement!
CaptainSteve1: Thanks for the comment about my writing and story, it is really uplifting and kind. As an author, I am worried about my writing getting worse overtime, but you say it's getting better. Thanks! You were nearly in tears? To be honest, so was I. And, don't worry about too many words, I love it. Apparently, my email doesn't as it did not show me the whole message because the "message has been truncated due to length". That gave me a laugh! Thanks a million!

You guys…. Thank you so much for all of your support. Going into FanFiction, I thought I was lucky if I got 4 favourites. I did not expect to get as far as I did. Now, my first multi-fanfic is at the end, sad times. But, I plan to keep on writing Ninjago stories. I plan on making a Jaya mystery/romance soon, but I have plans for another big one, too. With all of that said, I may take a break from posting, but we will see how I feel :)
I noticed many of you love this story so much, I do too, and seeing it end was sad. It was sort of like Marvel's Endgame, signifying the end of a long but amazing road. But, who said that it had to be the end? I have big news!
