Chapter: 17 Tour of my house

When they let go of me they asked why there were monsters in the house. I told them they were my friends and introduced them. When we were all acquainted I showed my friends around. Susan would look through the windows that were facing her.

I showed the Trio my room. Its walls were painted a very dark blue with white dots as stars, and a nice, painted crescent moon in the corner. I had posters of Bats, Nightmare Before X- mas characters, and Invader Zim. I had to explain to them what Invader Zim was since they have never even heard of it.

Then I had to stop B.O.B. from eating my clothes that I forget to pick up. I'm not much of a neat freak; there were books, clothes, and other random junk everywhere.

Doc was interested in my choice of books while Link was examining my action figures.

They were the classic monsters of the fifties and sixties. I had The Blob, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, The Fly, and Frankenstein's monster. I'm trying to get the whole collection.

I then showed them my sister's room (She had to come too, just in case if I wanted to steal anything or my friends would break something) She kept a good distance from the monsters for a while.

I showed them some pictures in the hallway of me before I turned into a…monster. I had to keep my wings tucked in and also my friends had to be careful not to hit the hanging pictures.

"Wow! This is very amazing to see you…normal," Link said.

Doc agreed as well.

"Wait! You were normal? I thought you were born with wings!" B.O.B. said in amazement as he looked at a picture of me.

I smiled and shook my head.

Then I showed them the backyard. "We have a pool and a trampoline," I told them and pointed at the two things in the backyard. "Cool! Can I go in the pool?" asked Link.

I was also afraid of that question as well.

"Ummm…well, as long as you don't track water in the house-"

"No! It cant go in the pool-" my sister interrupted me, but then got interrupted by Link. "Hey! I have a name you know!" he snapped. They started to bicker some more till I snapped.

"Hey you guys knock it off! Link is going in the pool and that's final!" then I went into the house and came back with a towel for Link when he was done with swimming. He smiled slyly to my sister and jumped in the pool.

Then I showed Doc and B.O.B. the trampoline. Susan peered over the roof to get a better look of the backyard.

"Wow! You have a pool, and a trampoline! I've always wanted a trampoline," Susan explained.

I wish she could jump on the trampoline but…since of her monster size…

"Can I go on the trampoline Bat?" B.O.B. said excitedly.

I got nervous.

"I'm not sure if it will hold you," I told him.

"Well, I don't think B.O.B. is that heavy Bat, just let him try it out a few minutes," Doc told me.

I sighed.

"Alright," I said and let B.O.B. go on.

He laughed and jumped on it a bit.

He went through it a couple of times but finally got the hang of it.

I was very surprised the trampoline held him.

Doc, Susan, and I watched B.O.B. jump on the trampoline for a while. Then my sister came up and started to touch my bat wings. "You are so lucky you got bat features," she told me.

I smiled weakly.

My sister loves bats too, and has always wanted bat wings.

"So, do you have a monster name? Do you suck blood? Can you fly with those wings?" My sister started to ask a million questions I couldn't keep up with.

"My monster name is Bat, I don't suck blood, and I can fly," I answered her first three questions.

Then Link came up to us.

"Thanks for letting me swim in your pool Bat," he said and handed me a soaking wet towel.

"No problem," I muttered and held the wet towel away from my body.

It reeked of fish.

Then a huge gust of wind came up. We all looked up and saw the huge jet landing near my house. The monsters followed me to the front yard. My parents were already outside looking up at the jet.

"That's our ride," I told them. I hugged my parents. "Come visit us soon, ok?" my mom asked. She was at the brink of crying. "Don't worry mom, I will," I answered her.

Then my sister came up and I gave her a side hug.

"Next time that fish thing wants to go in the pool, I'm going to kill him," she whispered to me. My eyes widened as we let go of each other. Then the monsters waved good- bye to my family. My family nervously waved back.

I waved to my family one last time.

Then the jet rose up. The neighborhood palm trees swayed in the strong jet winds and my family had to hold on to each other to not get blown away.

My family watched the jet fly away until we were gone.
