"Then let me explain, my son."
Allen looked over at his father who had finally stood up and looked better than he had before. He made to greet his father but was suddenly pulled into the arms of his lover and a wonderful warmth spread through him at the contact.
"Father, please explain. I am still unsure about what's going on." the albino whispered, taking his lovers hand and moving it to hold his chest tightly.
"It is a long tale, but one I must tell. I had been married for some time and my wife and I had yet to produce an heir. We prayed to the gods for months, years, but still we had nothing. Then a plague hit the land and she ultimately perished. In my despair, I turned not just to the gods but to the djinn as well. A mysterious-and rather strange looking-man appeared at the palace entrance one day claiming he could solve my problems. It was he who gave me the lamp and said that I would know what to do when the time came. The next week my guards came across an infant crying near one of the fountains in the courtyard; you."
"You were a sprightly child, always smiling. But I could tell that something was missing in you, something vital but I could not place it. I knew not that you were a djinn, nor the situation which led you to come to me, all I knew was that I fell in love with that infant and raised you to be my shining son." Mana said, moving to caress Allen's cheek which had become wet with shed tears. The albino smiled wetly and grasped his father's hand, relishing the moment between them. However, they were interrupted by the Earl.
"How was it that Neah came to be your advisor?" the large eared man asked. Mana tenses for a moment, closing his eyes as memories flooded him. "I was the elder of the two of us, we were twins."
"He wasn't always like this, we were very close in our youth. But one night just after our fourteenth birthday, he woke up gasping and fled to the balcony attached to our room. From that moment on, Neah was a completely different person. He would shut himself in the library and come out only to eat. Then our father fell ill and proclaimed me the next Sultan. Neah went crazy, throwing vases and nearly killing several guards; our mother sent him away to her homeland. She hoped that time away would heal whatever ailed him."
"But he never came back. Our father died, our mother withered away in grief, and I married Allera; the love of my life. I sent him letters, asking him to come home, but never received a reply. I had almost given up when my love fell ill and perished. I was alone, mourning, hurting; I sent letter after letter with not a single reply. I thought I was doomed to live my life alone, when you-Allen-came into my life. You were brought to me and suddenly the world didn't seem so small and dark; you brought me hope. I gave you your name, honoring my beloved wife, and raised you."
"I had sent another letter to my brother telling him of you. Of your strange white hair, of how you were the light of my life. He never replied, but two months later, Neah arrived back at the palace gates with a smile on his face. It was like he had never left; he explained that he had to heal and he apologized for not replying to me letters. I was so relieved to have my brother back, I named him my advisor and welcomed him in with open arms." Mana explained as he remembered the past.
Road came up and gave the solemn ruler a small hug, clinging to his arm to comfort the man.
"It would seem he regained his past life's memories when you turned fourteen. He most likely only came back when he realized the prince he was searching for was with you. I'm so sorry." the purple haired girl remarked.
Allen sunk further into his lovers embrace, seeking comfort. He felt no sympathy for Neah, but he could hear the pain in his fathers eyes and wished things hadn't happened like they had. But there was not use dwelling on what could have been. With a deep breath, the albino pried himself from his love's arms and walked up to his father.
Road smiled and let the sultan's arm go, nodding at the man before walking back over to the Earl. Allen nodded to Road before turning back to his father; with a small smile, the albino rushed at his father and embraced him. His smile growing even larger when his father returned his hug without hesitation.
"I'm so glad you're alright!" the young prince exclaimed, tears of happiness wetting his lashes.
"And I am glad to see you safe and sound. Giving those thieves jobs as your guards was the best decision I could have made." Mana looked up in his embrace to look Kanda square in the eyes. "Thank you. For taking care of Allen when I could not."
Mana moved out of his son's embrace and slowly bent down on the ground in a deep bow. A few of the guards present gasped before hurrying to bow as well, soon preceded by the Noah clan bowing with amused grins on their face. Kanda looked around, all of the occupants in the room (except Allen) were bowing to him. Him! The King of Thieves! He may be called a 'king' but he was in no way royal by any account; his so called 'subjects' never bowed before him.
Allen walked up and caressed his love's cheek softly, giving him a soft smile before he too bowed before his human King. Though Kanda ruled over no land, nor governed a people, he would always remain Allen's king. When the albino stood back up, it was a cue for all the others to stand as well.
With a large smile and a healthy glow, the Sultan opened his arms wide and proclaimed for all to hear "A feast! Evil has been struck from this world and all should know! Guards, alert the Kingdom that all are welcome at the palace for the feast!" And with that the Sultan left the throne room to prepare for the feast. Knowing in his heart that he would soon be throwing another feast for his son.
