"This cannot be…. He is not like the others."
The woman in the exoskeleton said as she looked at the screen, watching it as the screen showcased a boy within one of the Praetor suits coated in silver utterly rampage throughout the entire facility, slaughtering many Demons of hell that stood in his way. The woman's identity? Simple, Olivia Pierce, the one responsible for this demonic invasion.
Right now, she currently bit her thumb constantly with her teeth as she struggled to come to terms with what she was seeing. Initially, she had thought that the boy would turn out to be weak, powerless against the endless hordes of Hell. However, she couldn't have understood back then just how wrong she'd really been, only when she saw how he dealt with the endless masses of Demons did she have to rethink her opinions on this newest arrival. She'd tried to make everything in his way to his destination nigh-impossibly difficult like the satellite, but instead of walking through it all he flew through the air itself with some kind of winged contraption. Something which she hadn't seen before, which really got under her skin as her brain rummaged through the possibilities displayed by this literal 'wild card' that fool Hayden had thrown into her plans. This boy…. He no doubt would end up ruining everything, and denying her what she had been promised by her demonic overlords. She quickly contacted one of her sponsors who gave her a set of commands on how to summon the demons. There on the screen was a person with gray skin, a priest's clothes and a bald head.
"What is it now, Olivia?"
The way he talked to her, like he was addressing not a person but an ant, irked her to no end. However, the situation on her end proved enough for Olivia to put that aside for the time being. "Sir, there is someone who could pose a threat to our plans." she told him urgently.
"Hmmmmmm and how can you be sure Olivia, no one could even pose a threat to us."
Tch, as she had anticipated, the sponsor wouldn't believe her unless there was some direct physical proof of this threat. Well, luckily she had managed to procure some before this transmission had even started. "Here let me show you the data of the person I was telling you." Olivia stated, pressing on a few keys.
She sent a video to the demon priest as he looked at it before his expression grew grim, a new light of understanding piercing through those demonic eyes of his..
"Divine dividing….. This is a serious threat, how can he be able to come to Mars?"
Olivia shook her head. "Likely it's the work of that same mysterious organization that sent those pathetic rabble, 3 years ago." she mused, mulling over the possibilities and arriving to the best conclusion she could comprehend. Thinking back on her past experiences, Olivia knew for a FACT that organisations wouldn't give up on something once they wanted it, yet they would also be a bit more cautious about obtaining it should there be risks involved. Even if some wouldn't care and just keep sending disposable pawns to their death… which was more often than not the case, unfortunately. Still, that would explain why someone like this boy had been brought here and now was messing up 3 years worth of delicate planning as well as progress.
"I see….. He must be stopped then, I will summon the hell knights for you, they will deal with the problem."
"Thank you sir….." Hearing that there would be additional reinforcements that would slow the boy down brought no small amount of relief to Olivia as evident by her expression. However, 'no small' didn't mean that her anxiety was completely gone, proven by the following question that left her mouth. "But, what if they fail?"
"It matters not, we are close to completion with our plans. you deal with the problem and you will get what you were promised as soon as you open the portal."
"I will not fail you, sir."
After Olivia said this, the sponsor cut off the communication, leaving her to her own devices. As such, she began to walk to the primary control room to get the Argent Energy that they had been collecting in order to power their base. The fool Samuel never saw the importance of a new world they were granting her, thus he would regret trying to stop her and the hell priest on their grand goal.
She would have a place among them no matter what the cost.
"Oh dear….. This is not good."
An elderly man with long, grey hair, and a matching beard hummed in worried thought as he scratched his beard with his right hand, looking up at the stars above from atop his residence. He wore a gold and white monocle over his left eye, without the addition of the chain. he wore a robe that was short and blue with a gold lining on the top and bottom of the collar, the sleeves of the robe and at the front of his robes all the way down to the bottom of the robe. The rest of his robe was white with matching shoes. On top of his head was a golden and black hat, sectioned off into five mini sections that sport either the color black or gold, the top, middle, and bottom is gold and the sections in black are below and above the middle one. The black section featured blue orbs at the ordinal points: north, east, west, south etc, and between the blue orbs are red dots.
Why was he looking so disturbed and uncomfortable, one might ask?
Simple, he currently sensed something disturbing in the nine realms, something which he felt warranted significant attention. Originally, there was one more realm but considered to be forbidden… the true hell, one which all the elder gods, including this old man, feared greatly. That true Hell FAR surpassed the Underworld in terms of horror and gore, and was the source of christianity's preaches about virtues. The Underworld being similar to Hell was just an unfortunate coincidence. Right now, he sensed someone trying to open a portal from somewhere to that true Hell, something which he truly feared the dangers that forbidden place will cause in Midgard.
"What truly worries you father?"
Upon hearing a strong male voice, the old man looked to the left and saw a hooded figure in a black cloak, one which only showed a pair of blue eyes. Though the figure soom lowered his hood revealing a tall, muscular man with a thick beard and red braided hair.
Recognizing the man before him, the old man nodded in acknowledgement. "Thor… I have sensed in the realms that someone is attempting to open the forbidden world." the man explained grimly.
Something which delivered a batch of shock to the muscular man. "WHAT?! Who would be foolish enough to open that place?!" He yelled in anger, worry and concern. Like the old man who had a parental relation to him, he too understood the dangers of this situation were it to go unchecked.
The old man shook his head at that. "I don't know my son, I cannot see the culprit due to my limited view on the realms." he explained.
This prompted the muscular to curse in dismay, if his father Odin couldn't see the culprit, then that would mean that a planet was already close to being devoured then absorbed into that infernal realm. It had powers which many gods feared, after all. "Send me there father and I'll find the culprit before it's too late!" he urged quickly, believing that a quick and decisive blow would be best.
Not what Odin believed, however. "... no I won't Thor."
"WHAT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN FATHER, EXPLAIN!" Of course, this outraged Thor as he glared at his father, not understanding the meaning of his words.
Though, this meaning soon came to light with Odin's next words. "Because the demons are cunning my son, they could trick and corrupt you. Remember, they have experience locking up beings with godly powers, and we are not the first to have contacted them. If they corrupt you or anyone with your level of power, then they would have a powerhouse on their side, I cannot risk it."
"Grrrrrhhhhh, then send my daughters, Bellatrix, Elizaveta, or Eleonore their strong father!"
"I am not risking my granddaughters with this dangerous threat Thor, it's too risky."
"Then what should we do then Odin?! We are sitting ducks here in Asgard while the dangerous threat threatens the whole world, it can cause ragnarok!"
The old man became silent at this but his hand was gripping his throne so hard it had cracks. He definitely wanted to try to deal with the forbidden realm but the original Satan was a cunning bastard despite being an incarnation of chaos and destruction. The bastard knew that the other gods would try and stop him and his future machinations, therefore he had managed to corrupt some of this world's gods like Balor, Angra mainyu and others to become an evil God. Not only that, but the true Hell is something that even Satan believed to be something to be wary of, and anything that could make Satan act cautiously about was to be taken VERY seriously.
Odin the wise god began to think before coming to a decision. "I will send someone who has the advantage over the infernal realm."
"Who father, who will you send?"
"Ludmila Lourie."
A girl was walking to the mechanical rainbow bridge, her expression cold and hard like the power which she commanded. She had blue eyes and short blue hair that was tied-up, though if she were to let it down then it'd be long enough to flow down to her lower back. A hair clip resided in her hair with a white ribbon. For an outfit, she wore a blue regal uniform that covered her upper body except her belly button, with a skirt that was semi-transparent, revealing her light blue underwear. Her shoes looked like they were built to prevent her from sliding on thin ice and thick snow.
Currently, She was walking down to where the building at the end of the bridge is a short man with goggles on his eyes, a hood covering his head and a golem mouth with a glowing point on it. He looked at the girl before he knew what to do. "... Alright Ludmila, are you prepared for this? it's not too late to go back."
The girl, Ludmila, frowned before shaking her head. "No, if this threat can cause ragnarok, then it is my duty as a Vanadis to defend Asgard and Midgard from the terror it will cause."
"... (SIGH) alright, but be warned Ludmila, despite you being one of the Vanadis the infernal realm is forbidden for a reason. Once they capture you, they will corrupt you and turn you into one of them. Good luck, Ludmila Lourie." Knowing that there was no changing her mind with that answer, the Goggles wearing man proceeded to stride towards a nearby screen, typing some buttons before the bridge activated but this one was red as she was curious.
Thus, seeing the look on her face, the man proceeded to explain. "Despite being called the infernal realm, it is a part of the nine realms as much as any other. We gods long ago made a decision to never call that realm one of the nine realms."
The girl Ludmila was quiet before she made a determined face as she gripped her ice staff and went to the portal. Once she had gotten through, the short man quickly shut the portal off before the demons could enter Asgard.
A bridge entered the facility before down came Ludmila as she descended down to the ground before the bridge disappeared. Almost instantly, she frowned in discomfort when she instantly became hot, mostly thanks to the place she resided in having magma on it. The heat was so strong that she sweated so hard that she had to try and cover herself with ice… however, nothing had happened. This confused and unnerved her, before she expanded her senses and realized the lack of magic density here, which alarmed her. She had to find somewhere where it was cool before it's too late.
After looking around a bit, she saw a room before running to it, passing by corpses of unknown creatures she never saw before. However, it wasn't long before Ludmila realized that they were the corpses of demons. It was then something jumped and landed on the same floor as she was. It was very muscular and seemed less broad and the head appeared to be a partially-exposed skull. Their skin tone appeared to be quite flesh-like whilst the beast growled at her, its fists pulsating with crimson crackling energy. She tried to use magic but still nothing came as it backhanded as she was thrown to the wall.
"Ugh!" She grunted before seeing the demon running to her. Quickly, she tried to get up as her legs were shaking before it got close to her.
BOOM!
"GGRRRAAAHHH!"
The demon roared in pain, clutching it's right shoulder where it's arm had once been, now reduced to a smouldering stump. Outraged at the sudden loss of its arm, the Demon looked behind it and saw a silver, armored man running towards. The Demon, figuring that to be the cause of it's lack of an arm, roared angrily whilst ignoring the girl as her eyes began to close due to the intense heat in the room. Though, not before seeing the man running towards her.
Just before Ludmila appeared...
"Demonic threat now gone, lockdown disengaged."
"Ahhhhh finally, all those gore nests are gone VEGA?"
A sigh of relief escaped him from beneath his helmet as Vali finished off the last of the Demons in a large room filled with cooling instruments. He'd been travelling throughout the entire facility, killing more Demons than the number of times that Karla from the Kure Clan had been found stalking him… an impressive feat in and of itself. Only recently had he managed to take out a bunch of Gore Nests which had lowered the threat level enough for him to access the Cooling Room.
Yes, all the gore nests that were in the cooling room are now gone, you successfully destroyed all four of them.
THAT brought a sense of relief to the male, knowing that he was making progress in cleansing Mars of hell's influence. "Alright, show me where I can find the cooling turbine VEGA." he stated through the com channel to this facility's AI.
I have marked the location to the cooling room where you can find it sir.
Still, something else had came to his mind whilst he wandered on over to the Cooling Room to further his ventures throughout the facility. "Just to be sure, is there anything else in the facility on mars that I need to fix?" Vali asked.
Negative, all the required mechanics on Mars is successfully good, even Olivia needs those places to go through her plan.
"Hmph an insane but smart woman, she is."
Vali muttered under his breath, remembering the first encounter he had with these Gore Nests. It sickened him that the gore nest had looked like Gore Nests appeared to resemble a sessile animal organism somewhat like a coral reef, with a dinosaur-like head with a large open mouth lined with teeth. Above the "mouth" there was a large spherical glowing red portal. Skulls and other body parts provide the underlying material for the "reef", while on the right side of the Gore Nest's "head" was a large yellow pustule which had looked like it might be the creature's eye; this pustule encased a vital organ similar to a heart as Vali had found out the hard way. The Gore Nest also constantly whispered loudly and ominously, and this noise is often the first sign that he had to inform him that there was one nearby. But that's not all, apparently he found out that the possessed used corpses to make them and make the demons appear on the dimension.
Combine all this together, and Vali started to see why YHVH and the four great devils had to stop Satan from absorbing the realm.
As he was walking suddenly he sensed an energy not far from him which is not demonic, causing him to go pale behind his Helmet. "What the fuck, VEGA?!" he exclaimed at the AI, demanding explanation for this. An explanation that he soon received, though he didn't like it.
I have detected that a portal was activated and a person came out of it. A female by the looks of scans. Unfortunately, it appears that she lacked proper preparations as she apparently is affected by the heat in this room. She will risk dehydration if she doesn't have the proper gear.
Ugh, of all the times… well, he knew that the TSAB wouldn't risk sending reinforcements down here knowing what they did about it. However, that couldn't be said for some random other outside factor. He was willing to bet that it was one of the higher powers belonging to the supernatural world, since only they would be able to get past Hayden's defense measures with ease. "Ahh shit, show me where she is VEGA!" he eventually stated after snarling like an annoyed beast.
Acknowledged, sir.
Not wasting time, Vali hurried down the room as VEGA marked the location on his map as he found the girl. He found her but a hell knight(Albion had seen fit to explain to him about some of the demons he'd encountered) backhanded her. He quickly shoots the demon's arm off as it roars upon seeing Vali. Thus, it broke into a mad sprint as it dashed straight towards him, intending to smash Vali into a bloody pulp. Not like that would be happening however, since the silver haired male had simply pulled out his Combat Shotgun and headshotted the Demon before it could get close. This had only been possible through extended practice, which the silver haired hybrid had MORE than ample experience with due to having had many battles with these Demons. As a result, he now had a MUCH better aim in comparison to the beginnings of this journey, as the Demons were a good practice dummies for him to get better with guns.
Didn't really use Yamato all that much, save for some small crowd control.
As the demon died, he put his Combat Shotgun away, before walking on over to and kneeling in front of the girl, now unconscious thanks to the heat. He quickly reached out and pulled the girl into a bridal style carry, activating his Divine Dividing. "How did she enter Mars?! it should be impossible, Samuel!"
"I DON'T KNOW….. WAIT HER SYMBOL…. I SEE NOW I KNOW."
"What is it Hayden?"
"IT APPEARS SHE IS A VANADIS, A NORSE WARRIOR THAT BELONGS TO THE NORSE FACTION WITH THE BIFROST BRIDGE."
"The Bifrost bridge….. Wait Albion told me that the bifrost works with the nine realms, not planets!"
"YOU UNDERESTIMATE THEM, YOUNG MAN. THE BIFROST IS MORE THAN THAT, THEIR TECHNOLOGY IS SO ADVANCED THAT THEY DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THEY CAN MAKE PORTALS TO OTHER PLANETS AS WELL, I MANAGED TO GET SOME OF THEIR TECHNOLOGY FROM THE BIFROST AND TOGETHER WITH MY ASSOCIATE, WE MANAGED TO CREATE A PORTAL TO MARS. THE REASON HOW SHE GOT WAS THAT THE BIFROST SENSED THE CLOSEST ARGENT ENERGY AND BROUGHT HER HERE."
"Huh…. But how come they don't use that to go to other planets?"
"ONE WORD: VIKINGS."
"Ohhh….. Makes sense."
"NOW HURRY AND ACTIVATE THE COOLING ROOM SO SHE CAN GET COLD ENOUGH."
Samuel said to Vali as he entered the room and put her down by the control terminal, by the wall before going to the main command and quickly pushed some buttons. As a result, the cooling fan began to operate... though at this point it served as some kind of signal as it was then, that Demons began to be summoned as imps, possessed soldiers, and a humanoid figure that was covered with exoskeletal plates of an unknown material on some parts of its body, mostly the limbs and the torso area. Its head was also covered with this material and resembled a helmet which covered most of its face, except for its mouth. The parts of the body that aren't covered with these plates are black like ash with glowing, magma-like fissures and cracks running through them. One of the most striking anatomical features of this demon was the large black growth that replaces its right hand, Hell Razer.
Vali took out his Yamato and quickly went to them as he slashed an imp before dodging a plasma shot, he went to the possessed soldier as it jumped to the cooling fan as Vali activated his Divine Dividing and killed the soldiers, the two imps and a hell razer. He dodged what Albion had coined as an 'Argent Ray' that the Hell Razor had fired at him, before he used his Sacred Gear.
(DIVIDE!)
The hell Razer noticed that half of its energy was gone, but before it could figure out what was going on Vali brought out his Assault Rifle and shot it with some bullets. He then by instinct rolled to the left and saw that not one, but two hell knights were closest to him as he ran to get some distance when they began to run at him. He quickly switched out his Assault Rifle for his Combat Shotgun and flew to the air as he aimed his shotgun before taking out one by headshot. It was then one of them jumped high enough to be pinned on the ground. Vali turned his head left dodging a punch before another.
"Gggrrrr enough of this!" growing a bit frustrated, Vali activated his Demonic Power reserves, putting some into his fists despite all the warnings that Albion and Samuel told him beforehand. The thing was, the lack of magical density did indeed inhibit his Devil Arms in terms of usability, however it also had a couple nasty effects on Devils, according to what Albion had said. The more Demonic Energy used in Hell, the greater the danger was as Devils were much more susceptible to Hell's corruption than normal beings, due to them being aligned with the things that Satan embodied. Sure, they could form barriers over themselves using their energies as a fuel source to stop the influence from touching them, but once that energy ran out that Devil would be considered a goner if they couldn't escape in time. Devils who became corrupted in Hell… lets just say that their fate would be best left in the dark for now, though the fact that it wasn't pretty should serve as a decent indicator.
Still, Vali had decided to take the risk and had empowered his fists with his Demonic Power reserves. Initially he had large reserves due to him being a member of the true Lucifer bloodline, despite his qualms about it, they even got larger thanks to both his training as well as acquiring his Devil Trigger. However, if he stayed in this realm for too long then even he would suffer under this effect, since Mars seemed to be already highly taken over by Hell itself which meant that these effects still applied, albeit not as dangerous. Still, the ravenous devouring of his energy needed to power this barrier over his flesh still astounded the silver haired male, and if the expenditure rate was even FASTER within the true hell… fortunately, this Praetor suit had helped in supplying power to Vali's barrier, as that had been built into the suit during its construction according to Hayden. Apparently, him gaining a robot body was an alternative to wasting precious energy repelling Hell's corruption.
Nonetheless, Vali had enough strength to punch the hell knight so hard he was flying to the wall before Vali punched his head strong enough to blow it into pieces.
"The core temperature now stabilized."
"... finally one less thing."
Vali began to feel that the temperature was cooling down, good enough for the girl to get cold enough.
Samuel then spoke.
"THERE IS AN ACTIVITY ON THE PRIMARY CONTROLS, IT COULD BE OLIVIA."
Knowing that he couldn't leave her alone to be possibly slaughtered by Demons, Vali then went to the girl and princess-carried her to the primary control room, then found a suit for the girl to breath on air. He then entered a room with an iron covered door before it opened, showing Olivia in person as the screen showed a tower there with a red dot there before she looked at Vali as he had narrowed his eyes behind his helmet.
"Hmph, you are but one man. You can't stop them."
Them? What does that mean? Olivia then walked back to the door as Vali quickly put down the girl and used Yamato to cut the screen before going to see where Olivia is, but she disappeared like she wasn't there."Dammit she's gone, what was she doing?"
"SHE'S USING THE TOWER TO DRILL A DOORWAY TO THEIR WORLD, YOU MUST DESTABILIZE THE TOWER'S ARGENT ENERGY."
"... fuck."
'You have to stop her Vali, the doorway to that place cannot be opened! If it is, then they will finish consuming Mars and then start on Earth as well!'
Vali stood silent before going to the girl and carried her again, quickly speaking through the com channel to the AI. "VEGA, where is a suit capable of letting her breathe on Mars?"
Go to the next room and there will be a suit for her in there.
On VEGA's direction, the silver haired Hybrid carried her to the place where she can have a spacesuit, there were some damaged suits in the room, however there were still some robot arms there, ready for use.
Leave her here while I repair a suit for her.
'Don't worry, no need to tell me twice.
Vali left the room as VEGA started the operation.
"Uuhhhh."
Ludmila slowly began to awaken from the realm of the god of sleep, her eyes beginning to open as she regained her consciousness before getting up. However, seconds into her waking she noticed that her arms were covered by something… something which she was NOT familiar with nor was she wearing when she had last been conscious. This confused her for a few seconds, before her gaze wandered downwards and ended up seeing that she was wearing a helmet which caused her to be alarmed.
You're awake, I see.
Before she could freak out at this, Ludmila jumped when she heard a robotic-sounding voice, but before she could wonder if the heat had turned her crazy, an image of a robotic button showed up in front of her on the centre of what looked to have been her visor. "Who are you?" Still, her training as a Vanadis taught her how to be calm and analyze the situation, and considering that this thing was likely the one which spoke to her just now she assumed that it knew more of her situation than not. Plus, the fact that it was talking to her meant that there was room for negotiations... as well as intel gathering.
I am VEGA, the sentinel intelligence of Mars.
That caught her attention, and Ludmila blinked owlishly in confusion as she registered the fact that she was on another 'planet' rather than within the realm of Hell. "Mars? I thought I would arrive at the infernal realm?" she questioned, frowning afterwards when the situation dawned on her, her brain fast-acting in it's comprehension of what was going on.
Your teleportation only allowed you to go where the closest Argent Energy that the Bifrost bridge would find.
That… that was annoying, Ludmila felt as she huffed and slowly started getting used to the apparent Spacesuit she was wearing. Looked pretty slim compared to the ones those human astronauts used, but she could still move pretty well all things considered. Not to mention that she figured this thing's purpose was to help her adapt to the environment on Mars, something which she could understand if that was the case. Ludmila's training taught her many things, both supernatural and non-supernatural
However, the memory of the last thing she had seen before unconsciousness had claimed her soon returned to the forefront of her mind. This caused her to wonder who that was, and upon some mental examination of her memory, Ludmila remembered barely seeing a suit that looked WAY more advanced than this one. However, she made the connection that perhaps VEGA could know this due to the similarities of these suits and that they were on mars, it being an AI on said planet and AI general intelligence based on movie representation. Thus, these things led her to ask the following question. "I see….. who was the person that saved me?"
Hold in while I will let the young man know that you're awake.
Upon her asking that, the image of the button disappeared from her visor, allowing Ludmila to finish up her drills on getting used to her current Spacesuit as she waited for some seconds. Those seconds passed by quite quickly for her, before the upper torso and head of the same silver armored man that saved her appeared on a small screen at the bottom left corner of her visor. "I see you're awake, good now let me ask you this, why are you on Mars?" the man questioned her quickly, yet directly.
She felt a bit of irritation at the rudeness behind the demands, however her caution won out in the end. For even if he had saved her, that didn't mean she could completely trust him to watch her back or not kill her later down the line. "Hmph, and why should I tell you?" she questioned back, eyes narrowing behind her visor.
Though it didn't seem to faze the man behind the helmet if the response he gave shortly afterwards was any indication. "Because if you hadn't noticed, the magic density is low here thanks to Hell's influence. You can't even cast a few spells, thus you were lucky that VEGA found you or else you would be turned to pasta."
On THAT, she could understand especially when she didn indeed try to form a Magic Circle for her spells, but nothing happened. In addition, she remembered how she had failed to form ice earlier, resulting in his words being quite true. Much to her internal irritation, but in the end she had been saved by this person as well as this AI called VEGA, therefore her honor and pride as a Vanadis of the Norse Pantheon refused to let her leave this debt unpaid. "... Very well, you have my gratitude for saving me anyways. The Allfather Odin sensed that the forbidden world, the infernal realm, was attempting to cross dimensions into Midgard. He sent me to stop it at all cost."
For a moment, the armored man became silent, before seemingly nodding without much of a reaction. Although considering that the man was completely covered by his Armor, Ludmila wouldn't have ever seen his reactions if he had any. "Well you're in for a bad time, then. Before you exit that room, there should be a weapon next to the table where those Arms were." he said, causing Ludmila to look and notice a weapon indeed being there. Looked like an advanced form of Shotgun, the more she looked at it, as Ludmila quickly took it into her hands and gave it some experimental pumping. She soon got the reason why this was here and what he had wanted her to do with it thanks to his following sentence. "Since you don't have magic here, it doesn't mean that guns won't work as a decent alternative. VEGA's marked my location on your Spacesuit's HUD, so regroup with me and don't make any distractions."
With that said, Ludmila walked out of the room she was in, expecting to have to search for her new companion… however, as it turned out the guy hadn't been that far away from her and it had been easy to track him down with her Spacesuit's HUD. Once the two regrouped, Vali and Ludmila walked to the airlock control room before Vali pressed 'open airlock' prompting the said object to do as commanded. As the door opened before them, Samuel spoke. Though this time, he spoke from a small screen located in the left corners of both their helmets, since they each had similar communication abilities.
"I BELIEVE WE HAVEN'T SPOKEN YET, VANADIS."
Whilst Vali didn't say anything, considering that the robot wasn't talking to him directly, Ludmila on the other hand narrowed her eyes in suspicion, something which the Hybrid could honestly relate to. Though that wouldn't stop him from treating her like a soldier for the time being. "... who are you?" she asked slowly, many questions in her mind about this situation however her analysis of the situation told her that an interrogation wasn't a good idea right now. Thus, she simply asked the most important questions for the time being.
"MY NAME IS DR SAMUEL HAYDEN, FORMERLY ASTAROTH. I'M THE HEAD OF THIS FACILITY, YOUNG LADY."
Hayden, huh? Ludmila recorded that name down for additional research purposes when she got back to her home. "I see… then you know who is attempting to open the infernal realm." She said to Samuel as they walked... before Vali glanced to the side and noticed a futuristic gun lying there, unused. The gun itself looked fairly futuristic, somewhat similar to Hayden's robotic form if he were to draw a comparison, with it being shaped like a standard Rifle with a white upper body and a black lower half. Kind of made it look like the opposite of the Heavy Assault Rifle (HAR) Vali had, now that he thought about it. Noting the effectiveness that guns have had against the Demons so far, Vali decided to add this one to his arsenal, walking over to it, picking it up and analysing the mechanics on the gun before he continued to walk(Plasma rifle 2016).
"YES, OLIVIA PIERCE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS, HOWEVER THERE IS FAULT WITH MYSELF FOR NOT ANTICIPATING THIS. I AM WILLINGLY TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DISASTER THAT HAPPENED."
After hearing him say that, Ludmila pondered on what to do and say in response to such a claim. It didn't sound like Hayden was lying, but considering what she was seeing on her HUD about him she wasn't sure if she could detect whether or not he WAS lying on the other hand. If Hayden was indeed a robot like this com feed said, then using the usual signs for deceit wouldn't be effective. Not only that, but throughout his speech Ludmila had noted how his tone didn't change from it's robotic one at all, so the alterations of one's tone to detect hidden meanings wouldn't work here either. Therefore, Ludmila found herself being left with one option remaining, the standard response for her people which she preferred anyways. "Hmmmmm, you'll have to speak with the Allfather later. Right now we have bigger problems on our hands, therefore... what do we need to do, Samuel?"
"THE TWO OF YOU NEED TO DISABLE THE ARGENT ENERGY THAT WE COLLECTED FOR OUR POWER SOURCE IN MARS. OLIVIA IS TRYING TO OPEN A DOORWAY FROM OUR DIMENSION TO THEIR OWN. I DO NOT NEED TO TELL YOU WHAT WOULD HAPPEN, SHOULD SHE SUCCEED."
Oh, Hayden wasn't wrong there, Ludmila thought as she remembered the looks on the faces of the Norse Gods she'd seen before her departure. If there was something that spooked even THEM out of their usual antics, then the seriousness degree must be high indeed… and after seeing for herself the situation here, Ludmila could understand why. "... she will face Helheim for all of her sins." she vowed under her breath as the communication turned itself off, likely from Hayden's end.
As they exited out of the room, VEGA marked the location of the Argent Energy that was flowing up to the tower. Seeing it's a long way to their destination, Vali mentally weighed his options… before deciding to just 'fuck it' and activated his Sacred Gear, Divine Diving, something which surprised Ludmila as she sees a Sacred Gear which she recgonized. "Divine Dividing, one of the 13 longinius. If you have that sacred gear that means..." she began to say.
However, Vali cut her off as he began to generate power for flight. "No time for talking, hold onto me so we could get to the argent energy fast." he told her, bluntly. As Vali said that. He then held his outstretched hand out to Ludmila before she took it and squeaked as she was pulled close to him, to the point where her face was quite close to his right side whilst his arm wrapped around her waist similar to how a boyfriend would his lover. Paying no heed to this, Vali engaged his Divine Dividing and shot upwards into the skies above.
Also paying no heed to the startled shrieks from Ludmila either.
By the time that they landed again planting both their feet onto solid earth Vali let his unwilling
'Cargo' go, prompting Ludmila to take a few steps back from him. Her face flushed red behind her helmet as she pointed her Staff angrily at him. "Next time, tell me before you do that!" She yelled, and if this was an anime then there would likely be some tick marks over her head.
Not like the silver haired teen cared, though. "Like I said, less talk and more action we do." he stated bluntly, shrugging his shoulders. What, just because he knew how to treat women better, didn't mean that he wouldn't do something in the most effective way he could see them.
His words managed to gain an additional growl from the smaller girl, however. She looked like she wanted to smack him into next week, too. "Gggrrrr, if the magic density wasn't so low here, then I would freeze you until you're in the Ice age!" she stated through gritted teeth, though her helmet made sure this was hidden.
Though, Vali once again didn't feel too threatened by this, knowing that he had faced worse things than an angry woman back when he had been a child. "Noted….. Oh great, there's two of them."
"Huh? Wait do you mean-?!" On what Vali just casually noted with a tint of annoyance, Ludmila turned her gaze away from him to favor looking at the two hell portals. Though, soon she saw something below them that almost broke her cold persona: Two gore nests there, one on the bottom and other on the top. "What… are those?"
Upon hearing her question, Vali answered with the kind of tone that stated his greater interest in this specific topic of discussion. "... Gore Nest, these….. things, allow the demons to come to our world in small groups. Made from human corpses corrupted by their energies though, so they have likely got to do other stuff first." As Vali explained this, they once again took to the skies, though this time Ludmila wasn't as shocked by it in favor of looking disgusted at the unholy constructs, and then landed before where the first one on the top was. After letting Ludmila stand on her own again, Vali then walked to it before he turned to Ludmila. "You know how to use a gun?"
Ludmila nodded her head in confirmation, pulling out her Combat Shotgun. "Yes but only the basics, we mostly train with our body and magic." she explained.
Whatever expression Vali had on his face remained concealed as he responded in a neutral tone of voice. "Then you're gonna use the body more, as the magic is low here. So, pay attention to where you aim and fire at the directions they move in, that's all you need." With those sets of instructions given, Vali proceeded to head around the Gore Nest before he found the spot, prompting him to rear his right hand back before he thrust the limb inside, pulling out something like a parasite before he pulled the entire thing. With the lack of this component, the Gore Nest seemingly began to screech in some abominable manner of pain, before it exploded in a mass of gore and crimson gas.
Following this, a bunch of screeches filled the air before various Demons appeared around them, Demons such as Imps, some Hell Knights and some Hell Razors prompting Vali and Ludmila to jump straight into work. Vali chose to deal with the fast moving Imps first, flying through the air to provide aerial support by firing his Combat Shotgun at them when they moved in specific directions. Their cries of agony as they got reduced to paste by his rounds sounded like music to his ears, he'd say as he blasted and blasted away, dodging their fireballs in the meantime.
However, shortly into the fight, Vali noticed a Hell Knight already up in the air and falling down to where he would be going too fast for him to react in time. 'Ugh, shit!' the boy cursed as he fell to the ground, sliding across it to a halt. Quickly acting, knowing that there wasn't much time before the Hell knight sprawled on top of his back tried dealing some killing blow, Vali promptly aimed his Combat Shotgun where he had predicted it's head would be, taking a split second to check and confirm before firing a blast right in its face. Vali growled as he heard the Hell Knight's cries of pain as it barely managed to dodge a fatal injury by pulling its head back at the last second, but it still did it's job in knocking it off him to allow him to get up, draw his Yamato in one hand and swiftly behead it with a reverse horizontal swing. As the body fell to the ground, Vali saw more Imps come his way, with a Hell Razor far off about to fire it's laser at him.
Before it could though, Vali noticed Ludmila already on the case, landing behind it and blasting it's head off with her Combat Shotgun, leaning backwards in a semi awkward manner to avoid a fireball fired from an Imp. She would then eye it and fire in the direction that it moved in, blowing off it's arm to make it stop and cry out, holding it's stump before Ludmila closed in for the final blow which came from her stabbing her Staff into it through the head. Ludmila had seemed to have taken to dual wielding her Combat Shotgun and Spear in order to deal damage to her foes according to his observations, reloading the former by flipping it backwards and performing the entire reloading process. 'She said she only learned the basics and focused on body and magic…? Somehow, I doubt that, after seeing such skill…' Vali thought to himself whilst taking to the skies again to resume providing air support.
'It would appear that she is a fast learner, for she didn't take too long getting to grips with the situation or her new weapon.'
'True…'
Eventually, they killed all of the Demons that the Gore Nest had Spawned. "Phew… that's one wave of Demons defeated…" Ludmila muttered under her breath once the last Imp had been slaughtered by the Yamato, something Vali had drawn in order to finish the enemy off. "Now, onto the next one…"
Vali nodded his head at this, prompt grabbing Ludmila once again (much to her charin) and taking to the skies once more. The flight this time wasn't as long as the first few ones, which was something that the blunette found herself happy about as they landed before the second Gore Nest. This time, she got ready with both her weapons as Vali performed the same song and dance with this Gore Nest, too.
Cue the screams, screeches and the appearance of more Demons.
This time, the quantity appeared to favor the Hell Knights more than the other kinds that they had experienced so far, so Vali had opted to deal with them himself whilst Ludmila dealt with the Imps. The silver haired Hybrid quickly flew through the air like a falcon diving upon its prey, the prey in question being one Hell Knight preparing to jump at him… only he had slammed into it first. Thanks to his body being stronger than the average human, Vali didn't feel much of an impact as he pretty much bodysurfed like a certain hooded guy in a black jacket who shapeshifted his arms into offensive weaponry, until they stopped where Vali had drawn his Yamato again and stabbed it through the brain, killing it.
Afterwards, Vali noticed several of them already leaping up to try and smash his head in along with their fallen comrade (though he didn't see much camaraderie between these Demons), thus he responded by ascending upwards whilst slicing through their bodies with his Yamato, then sheathing it since he had gone too fast to deliver a deep enough cut. Switching out to his HAR and new Rifle, Vali aimed down and unloaded what could only be considered a hailstorm of multi generation bullets, the HAR being the older generation and his newly christened 'Plasma Rifle' being the new generation. Plasma bolts and Armor piercing rounds flew through the air like twin gatling guns firing their loads, shredding through the Hell Knights like they were swiss cheese.
Glancing to the side and noticing a Hellraiser about to shoot it's laser at his ass, Vali performed an aerial evasive manoeuvre before diving down and kicking it, firing more rounds right across its body whilst he heard Ludmila's war cry. After killing his recent victim, Vali glanced to the direction it came from to see Ludmila impale two Imps on her Staff alone, lift them into the air before using them to smack into a Hell Razor. One which had just gotten its laser off only for the Imps on her Staff to be used as meatshields for her convenience melting into goo thanks to the laser just as Ludmila managed to blast the damn thing to bits with her Combat Shotgun.
With satisfaction in knowing that he didn't need to babysit her, Vali continued on his slaughter by shooting back into the air and raining death from above.
"Hmph this is what the supernatural fears, more like they can't stand even a low class devils."
"Maybe so."
"THE SIMPLE REASON WHY THEY ARE WEAK IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO MAGIC DENSITY HERE ON MARS SINCE THERE ARE NO GODS IN IT. BUT ON EARTH, THEY WOULD BE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH."
"Huh… makes sense."
Whilst they continued on their journey after having finally finished off the last of the Demons, Ludmila glanced on over to her companion whilst being unable to retain her curiosity any longer. "You know, you haven't told me your name..." She began to say, trailing off afterwards.
Fortunately, Vali had been around women long enough to pick up the subtle clues on their tendencies to not say what they meant directly, no matter how annoying it was. "Oh…. it's Vali, Vali Lucifer Hanamura." He declared, dispassionately.
However, the same couldn't be said for the blue haired Vanadis who looked at him in surprise behind her helmet. "Wait, a Lucifer….. That means?" she whispered, realizing about this guy's identity dawning on her.
At this, Vali eyed her and if she could have seen his gaze, she would have noticed the pointed look he gave her. "Yeah yeah I'm a half-devil so what gonna prosecute me or something?" he questioned.
She didn't need to see what gaze he had on though, his question and the tone behind it pretty much conveyed it for him. "No….. it's just I'm surprised to see the Lucifer bloodline going on." she admitted, this time a slightly sheepish tone entering her voice a bit.
Something which the silver haired Hybrid could get behind, honestly as he looked away from her. "Devils can't keep it in their pants, just like the horny-as-fuck Greeks. I'm sure Zeus is still out there having sex with someone, or perhaps doing orgies with a bunch of highschoolers. Heard that they are some of his favourites." he spat with disgust, remembering a few things his adoptive mom had told him about the King of the Greek Gods due to having had the 'infortunate' pleasure of meeting him herself a few times. Heck, she even said that just once would be enough for her to never want to see him again, and she was a SUCCUBUS.
Apparently, Ludmila shared his disdain for the Greeks (though maybe it's more towards Zeus, which as a woman was perfectly understandable), when she spat out her opinion with a similar tone to his. "Ugh don't remind me, he's even worse than the Spear Hero."
Vali paused on what she said on spear hero as they were at the argent filter room. "Huh….. Spear Hero? Okay, I'll bite: what the heck kind of name is that?"
At this, Ludmila looked back at Vali but this time he could just SENSE the confusion just from looking at her visor. "Oh you didn't know….. ? Figures that Zeus would try to contain this information…" She muttered the last part to herself but Vali still caught it. He didn't comment on it though as she turned her head back to him with a feeling of grimness coming from her now. "Well, I have limited information about the spear hero but the hero belongs to a group of Cardinal heroes that the Greeks made in order to make their faction stronger. There are four types of Cardinal Heroes: the Spear, the Bow, the Sword, and the Shield Hero."
Shield hero? How can a shield even be useful? it's only good for blocking and knockback….. Ehhhh he'll figure it out later right now he has to focus on the situation.
"WE ARE ONLY TEMPORARILY DISABLING THE TOWER: YOU NEED TO REMOVE EACH LENS INDIVIDUALLY. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE HINGES AND CUT THE WIRES."
Vali did so by removing each side of the henge and cutting the wires with Yamaro before it shut down. Vali turned around and saw the same medical machine before he spoke.
"Ludmila, use this to heal your wounds."
"... how can a machine heal you?"
"Don't underestimate technology Ludmila, just put your arm there and let it do its work."
Ludmila stood there for a moment, not understanding why Vali had been so insistent about this, before she decided to take a leap of faith and went to the medical machine. After all, Vali hadn't been lying to her so far, and he'd been a somewhat decent colleague to work with which was more than she could say about a LOT of her previous ones. Sensing her approach, the machine opened, allowing her to put her arm inside, allowing it to do the same thing that had happened with Vali before it stopped. She was surprised that her wounds were gone, as if they were there before she spoke. "Wow, this would greatly benefit any kind of hospital if they discovered this..."
"Maybe so, lets go."
Once this was done, Vali and Ludmila exited the facility before he activated his Sacred Gear, and THIS time Ludmila held onto Vali of her own will, knowing that he would just grab her anyway, as they flew upwards to the second floor. Landing on top of the second floor, the two then proceeded to get to the next Argent filter room, but just there was a big minigun that Vali was staring at before going to taking it as he looks it, showing its ammo before he puts it on his dimensional storage(Minigun 2016). They went to the Argent Facility room before Vali did the same thing with the Argent filter room, exiting the facility again.
"Haaaa this is gonna take a while going back and forth."
"True."
Later
"Hhhaaaa finally that thing is dead. Now I'm beginning to see why Hell can be a threat."
"There is a reason why even gods like the Allfather know how dangerous they are."
They had just defeated another hoard as they destroyed all the Argent filters powering the tower. Though, in one of their battles a new demon had appeared before them, utterly wrecking through their previous battle plans with it's abilities. It had been a very thin, slim built demon with a body type similar to that of an Imp, a light blue body that covered fleshy red skin. Its head was shaped similar to a Hell Knight, albeit with a large, round bone structure that covered the back of its head. Two large, fleshy wing-like appendages hung off its back, and as for its name… Vali had taken to calling it the 'Summoner' because it not only used Argent energy with projectile attacks and teleporting around like a little bitch, but it also kept pulling their legs by summoning more Demons to its side as well.
They had to first kill the Demons that responded to its summons, but more and more kept on coming like a neverending tide until Vali had it and used his Yamato to kill all the Demons, including the summoner. Along their journey, they had encountered yet ANOTHER Gore Nest which only summoned a Hell Knight and a Summoner which had immediately teleported away to begin summoning other Demons. It had been both very tiring AND annoying, but at least they had killed them all before going to the room and resting a bit.
After this brief resting period, Vali got up and went to the primary filter as he stared at it.
"DESTROY IT, VALI."
"... and the reason is?"
"THE DEMONIC THREAT FROM HELL IS SO GREAT THAT IT REQUIRES THE GREATER SACRIFICE. IT WOULD FORCE ME TO USE NOT THAT MUCH ENERGY TO STAY ON MARS FOR A WHILE, BUT I KNOW THAT THE HUMANS WILL ACHIEVE THE IMPOSSIBLE NO MATTER WHAT."
After hearing this, Vali struggled to admit it but a sense of surprise and a little respect started to sprout in him for the robot, especially when he considered the species that he belonged to. Even Ludmila had begun getting similar feelings towards Hayden's actions. "... You don't sound like those arrogant devils, especially when you belong to the Beelzebub Satan line." Vali couldn't help but comment, wondering what the hell Hayden's deal was. As much as he saw the robot as a bit of an asshole who, seemingly, had started these chains of events (although there wasn't much information labelling him as the culprit yet), the robot had indeed been doing what he could to prevent more needless casualties. He wasn't likely a good person, but someone who knew when to get shit done, something which Vali could respect.
Made him wonder what Devil society would have been like if Hayden had a strong position of power.
"AJUKA, MY NEPHEW, DID NOT TRY TO MAKE THE UNDERWORLD A GOOD PLACE FOR THE DEVILS. EVEN I KNEW THAT THE LOW CLASS DEVILS WERE SUFFERING UNDER THE HIGH CLASS BECAUSE THEY DON'T BELONG TO PURE LINES OF THE DEVILS. THE EVIL PIECES THAT HE MADE IN ORDER FOR THE DEVIL RACE TO CONTINUE TO EXIST WAS NOT THE SOLUTION, IF ANYTHING HE MADE IT WORSE. HE, THE SMARTEST DEVIL THERE, DIDN'T EVEN THINK BY ASKING A GOD OR GODDESS OF FERTILITY TO FIX THEIR LINES. NO MATTER WHAT THE NEW GENERATION SATANS TRY, THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE ITS THEIR NATURE."
Samuel was right, the Devils would never change due to their bloodlines and social classes. It's like human society, only it's way worse as Vali, Ludmila and Hayden all knew that other low class devils would never get accepted by Devil society, no matter what they try. Like what Samuel had said it's their nature.
All this in his mind, resulted in Vali nodding his head in agreement with more than just his words, but also his stance and respecting his desire to get shit done, despite the sacrifices that it would demand. Thus, Vali then punched the glass a couple of times before it broke and Vali grabbed the fuse and took it out of the machine. As he threw the fuse to the ground the machine exploded as Vali covered his eyes before he saw it was in flames.
"There, the portal should be closed by now, lets see how Olivia will try opening the portal now."
Olivia is still alive. I've detected her life signature at the Argent tower. She has removed one of the accumulators from the tower base. It has a unique energy signature that we can track.
"Huh….. an accumulator?"
"SHE'S STUBBORN, I'LL GIVE HER THAT. DESPITE THE ARGENT TOWER BEING NONFUNCTIONAL, SHE'LL TRY TO OPEN THE PORTAL INTO HELL MANUALLY."
THAT caused Vali to grit his teeth, his inner temper starting to fly out of his control as he slammed a fist into a wall. "Ahhh, come on! Just what does she gain out of this from Hell?!" he raged, although that question was both a good one as well as one which nobody could have answered him.
Nobody but Olivia, that is.
I have detected that the connection to their dimension is still viable, we are at great risk.
"That woman is looking for death, I'll make sure she goes to Hel personally."
"YOU HAVE TO HURRY, IF SHE RUPTURES THAT ACCUMULATOR NEAR THE ARGENT BEAM SHE COULD OPEN A PORTAL TO THEIR WORLD THAT WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CLOSE."
"Fuck….. Come on, let's go before it's too late."
"No need to tell me twice, Vali."
AN: Hunter here, Welcome to a new chapter of MHD. Multiple things have happened, not only is fighting as the Doomslayer in his 2016 reboot, but now the supernatural is intervening by sending Ludmila (guess which franchise she's from) on over as a companion to stop Hell from getting a foothold. Plus, there's that stuff with the Greeks too, things are moving along swiftly. Honestly, I'm surprised nobody has been commenting too much about how we haven't entered canon yet, would have thought you horny weebs would have wanted to see the ORC already or something. In any case, hope you all like the chap and look forward to the next.
PEACE OUT!
Come on Olivia you got to give up sometimes!... My name is Darklord, bringing you another chapter of the series! Now on how Odin knows someone is attempting to open hell is because of his connection to the world tree Yggdrasil. And for what the armor that Ludmila is wearing is the master chief female armor but with no strength enhancement, only capable to breath on Mars, have a storage installed and that's it. We had a reason why Samuel said because its all true I mean come on Ajuka is the smartest devil but can't fix a devils fertility? Bullshit he could research stuff on how to fix it or ask any kind of god of fertility let me tell you this, this fic is realistic, not everyone gets a happy ending or there is anything good in it. Alright thank you for reading our chapter, be sure to leave a review if you want and I'll see you next time!
GOOD LUCK!
