Over the next few days the team gets three more homicides with the exact same M.O. except the last one had a note for Jane. It read "This is for you Jane xoxo -A.

Jane had no idea who this person could be but she wasn't going to give up until they were brought to justice. When Jane returned home she found Maura on the couch reading with their son sound asleep in his bassinet next to her.

"Hey babe" Jane says quietly not to wake the baby. "Hi honey" Maura says giving Jane a kiss. Maura could see the stress and worry on the brunettes face. She stands and they both walk into the kitchen. "This case is taking a toll on you Jane." Maura states with concern. Jane sighs and rubs the back of her neck. "I'm sorry." Jane says. "I know this case is taking up alot of time away from you and Ethan." "Jane, Maura says lovingly. "I understand." "But you have to rest." "You have to take some time away from this case before it really takes a hold of you." "You are not the only detective on the force."

"Maur." Jane says then pauses..."I cant just step away from this case." "Someone has made this personal and I have you and our son to protect." "But who is going to protect you Jane?" Maura ask angrily. "I dont need to be protected!" Jane spouts. Maur takes a minute to collect herself. "Jane, you have to think about you as well." "Its not just you anymore." "You have a wife and a son now." Maura says softly but sturn. "Dont you think I know that?!" "I have an obligation to stop this person!" Jane says loudly waking their son.

"Shit" Jane says realizing she woke Ethan. Jane trys to make her way over to there son but Maura gets there first. "Don't!" Maura says fuming. "I know you want to stop this person but your obligation is not just to you're job anymore!" Maura says with tears daring to fall from her eyes while she tries to comfort their son. "If catching this person is more important to then your wife and son and yourself then you can just go back to work!" Maura says angrily fighting the tears as she walks away to head upstairs to try and comfort their son back to sleep.

"Maur." Jane says softly trying to reach for her wife who pulls away and keeps walking. "Fuck!". Jane says loudly. She knew she messed up and that Maura was hurt and angry. Jane grabbed a beer out the fridge and chugged it down. She stood there for a while before heading upstairs to check on her wife and son. This was their first big fight and Jane wanted to make it right. But when she got to their bedroom and tried to go in the door was locked.

"Maur please open the door." Jane begged. "I'm sorry." "I didn't mean to hurt you or scare you and Ethan." "Please Maur." Jane says fighting the tears and forcing down the lump in her throat. "Please open the door." Mauras heart broke at the sound of Jane's voice but she was still so angry with her wife she couldnt bring herself to open the door. She knew Jane would never harm her or their son but the anger in Janes eyes scared her. "How could she put her job first when she promised she wouldnt." Maura thought. She jumped when she heard the front door slam shut she was no longer able to fight off the tears.

Jane paced outside there house before deciding to head to the precinct. It was a long night for both of them. Jane was so pissed at herself for leaving her wife upset and their son. But she had to get to the bottom of this case before her family was seriously hurt or torn apart. "Janie you look like hell." She hears Frankie say. "I thought you went home last night.?" Frankie ask concerned. "I did." Jane said lifting her head to meet her brothers eyes. "What happen?" He says pulling his chair to talk to his sister who he could see was upset.

"Maura and I" she said clearing her troat... "Maura and I got into it when I got home." "I was being stupid and an ass." "I yelled and woke up Ethan." "Maura told me that if this case meant more to then them to just leave and come back to work." "I tried to talk to her and make it right but I was locked out of our room." Jane hangs her head. "So you just left?" Frankie ask surprised that his sister was being so open. "Yeah" Jane answers. "I was hurt and angry." "I didnt know what to do." Jane says wiping away her tears.

"Janie you have to go home and fix things with Maura." Frankie says lifting his sisters face to look at him. "Go home and make up with her." "We can solve this case Korsak and Me." "You need to go home now and make up for being such an ass." "We Rizzoli's put family first." "What if shes still angry?" Jane ask with tear filled eyes. "It doesn't matter." Frankie says. "Just go show her that you are sorry before you wreak the best thing to ever happen to you." "Okay" Jane says softly with a sigh." "Thank you little brother." "No problem sis." He says giving her a smile. "Now go!"

Before Jane can leave she hears Korsak talking with Kent. "Yeah shes going to be out for a week." "Are you sure you can handle this case?" Korsak ask Kent before realizing that Jane was standing there. "Jane what are you doing here?" Korsak ask surprised. "I was just leaving." "Is Maura taking time off?" She asked concerned. Korsak looked at her confused. "You didnt know?" He asked Jane. "No I didnt. I came back here last night." Jane said. Korsak knew that by the look on Jane's face something happened between them. Jane didnt have to speak about what happen "Jane go home and talk to your wife." Nothing is more important then your wife and son." She sighed and shook her head in agreement.

Jane drove home hurriedly. When she pulled into the driveway of their home she took a deep breath. Once inside she found Maura in the kitchen. "Hey Maur." Jane spoke softly. Jane looked around. "Where's Ethan?" She asked concerned. "Hes with your mother, hes going to stay the night with her so we can talk." Maura stated with her back still facing Jane.

Jane put her head down in shame. She slowly walked over to her wife. She reached out to touch her but pulled back. She didn't want to upset Maura even more so she turned to stand back in her original spot but Maura grabbed Janes wrist and spun her around and pulled her into a tight embrace. "Maur," Jane said softly. "I'm so sorry." "I shouldn't of left." "I shouldn't of yelled." "im sorry i scared you and Ethan. Jane felt the warm drops run down her face." I'm sorry." "You and Ethan are my world nothing is more important to me then the two of you." Maura remained quiet. "I'm so stupid." "I promised I wouldn't put the job first and yet that's what I did." "I deserve for you to be pissed at me." "I deserve everything that you are about to say to me." "But please forgive me."

Jane's body began to shake as the tears came down harder. Maura pulled back from Jane to look into the brown eyes she loved so much that were now filled with pain and regret. "Jane," Maura spoke. "Of course I forgive you, I love you." "I know you didn't mean to yell." "I'm sorry that I locked you out..." "I splet horrible...you weren't next to me and my heart broke." Jane put her head down again.

"Look at me." Maura said softly. "I love you, let's put this behind us and move forward." "I broke my promise Maur" Jane said. "I'm sorry." "Honey stop apologizing." Maura said wiping Jane's tears away. "Neither of us handled last night very good." "We both said and did things." "But we are here together now and we are going to work on things." Maura kissed Jane fiercely. Jane wrapped her arms around her wife and picked her up. Maura wrapped her legs around Jane's midsection. "I love you." Jane whispered. "I love you too we are in this together baby." Maura said with a smile.

"So" Jane said putting Maura back down. "What's this I'm hearing about you taking a week off?" Jane said rasing an eyebrow. "Oh, you heard about that?" Maura said looking down. "I was going to tell you when you came home." "Its okay Maur, what's going on?" "Are you okay?" Jane ask concerned. "Yes, yes I'm perfectly fine Jane I just thought that if i stayed home with Ethan and Angela it would give you a piece of mind to know that we are home safe." Maura said with a smile.

Jane breathe a sigh of relief. "You dont have to do that Maur." "I dont have to but I want to I figured this is best." "You can focus on the case and not have to worry." "And you can come home every night." Jane smiled. "Have I told you how lucky I am that you always have my back?" "Or how lucky am to be your wife?" "You have but I still like hearing it." Maura said with a smile. "How about I take you upstairs and show you how sorry I am?" Jane says with a grin. " ooo says Maura."I really like the sound of that." Jane sweeps Maura off her feet and carries her upstairs. Jane and Maura spend the night making sure that the other knows how sorry they are and how much they are loved.
