A/N:

Here's a new chapter. I was waiting for this chapter haha, had this is mind for a long time and a small part I wrote years ago. Had to rewrite for sure. A guest asked in the reviews if this is the last chapter of this story. Ohh noo, it's definitely not the last chapter. (You can also send me the questions via PM if you're logged in.) Enjoy this one!

The old baboon Rafiki looked down from a tree. Female humming had grabbed his attention. It was Nala. The tone of her humming sounded delightful and full of hope. Lately Rafiki was given a little sparkle of hope too, especially since he had noticed a positive change in Scar's behaviour. All thanks to Nala. The girl had awakened a part inside the lion Rafiki hadn't expect to ever see again. "Taka! He got back some sense!" There is hope.. Long before Mufasa's and Simba's death he'd watched how day by day, Scar's heart darkened to the colour of his manes. It took the baboon long to fully recover from the loss of Mufasa and the young prince. For years he kept himself on a proper distance from Scar and the hyenas.

Nala had disappeared in the distance. Then suddenly the wind picked up and so did Rafiki. It was a scent, a familiar scent from the past. A message. Is that true, for real? Rafiki didn't needed much more conformation before he was able to connect the dots. "Simba! He's alive!" Immediately Rafiki hurried himself towards his old painting of Simba he once had almost wiped off. The baboon smiled big after making the adjustments on the painting. His mind went back to Nala. Scar's change of heart wouldn't automatically fix all the damage that had been done to the Pride Lands. He hoped it wasn't too late. He shook his head at the hyena laughter that he heard haunting inside his mind. "I've got a bad feeling about them.." Rafiki looked up and just when he was about to ask the help of the spirits, he realized they were already on the way.

Dawn had arrived and Scar went out for a walk, alone. He thought back to times when he used those walks to clear his overactive mind. This time he had no reason to be worried. Scar walked around with a satisfying feeling, he had what he wanted all along. Above him he heard the clouds rumble, it alerted him. Hmm, I hadn't expected it to rain now..- he thought by himself and frowned when he noticed the weird shapes in the sky.

"Taka, son.."

"Father!" Scar swallowed when he heard his father's familiar voice, now during a time when he definitely knew he was awake for sure. Images from the past were flowing by in his head, the vulnerable cub he once was, the buffalo prank and the confrontation from his father that drastically changed him; the memories hit him like lightning. Literally, because within seconds the sky got covered by dense dark clouds and had exchanged the calm breezes for heavy rain and the aggressive sounds of thunder, accompanied by lightening. Scar blinked. After his view became more clear, he immediately took a step backwards because above him was the clouded version of a lion that clearly represented Ahadi. As far as he could, he pulled himself together. "I knew I wasn't crazy. It was you who terrorized me in my dreams!"

The shapes of Ahadi sharpened even more as he began to speak. "I've visited you in your dreams for the same reason as my appearance now. Your own ego, imagination and past memories have resulted in distorting the message I was bringing you," Ahadi paused. "I've came to warn you that now's the time to do the right thing," Ahadi continued.

"You've treated me like trash for almost my entire childhood," Scar started. Ahadi's appearance opened up quite some old wounds as he had never gotten a chance to clear things with his father. "You've never cared a thing for me. You've always favoured Mu..-" Scar stopped, a sudden thunder stroke kept him from saying his brother's name.

"I am deeply regretting the way I have treated you, my son. But the past cannot be changed, we can only brighten up the future," Ahadi frowned when he noticed Scar's reaction showed by a facial expression. "Don't roll your eyes on me, son.."

Quickly Scar pointed his eyes at the sky, staring into his father's clouded eyes. "But I AM brightening up the future! Me and Nala..-" he started before his father cut him off.

"Nala.." Ahadi started with a smile. "Nala accomplished the impossible: She awakened Taka. Your mother and I and even your brother, were delighted to see this change happening inside of you. You're heading the right way."

"My brother.." Scar mumbled. "How's he doing by the way?" He sounded a bit nervous.

Like if he hadn't heard his son asking for the brother he killed himself, Ahadi continued to lead the conversation to the point he came for. "But now it's time to step down. Give back the throne to its rightful owner.."

Scar couldn't believe his ears. Of course all his father cared about was the kingdom. Yet Scar was curious who Ahadi was referring to. "What? And who would that be? I can't think of anyone suitable yet.."

"Simba!"

Scar escaped a small grin. "Father.. How could you have missed that news up there?" Scar paused. "He died at the same.."

"Oh Taka, Taka.. Or must I say Scar? You think those hyenas have ever accomplished something you ordered them to do?" Ahadi said with slightly a sparkle of humor present in his tone. "He's very much alive.. and.. he might be the only hope you still have left.."

Scar swallowed and took another step backwards. Simba is alive? Inwardly he cursed the hyenas. They had one job!

"Step back.." His father's voice once again interrupted his thoughts.

"Wait!" Scar called up, confused. "How could he be my only hope?" Not even in his most impossible dreams, Scar could imagine this news about Simba could possibly benefit him in any kind of way. He assumed that after all he put his nephew through, the only thing Simba still wanted from his uncle was justice and revenge.

"Now I have your attention.." Ahadi spoke. "All living beings are burdened with a blind spot somewhere. Your love for Nala might have opened your eyes in certain ways, but it cannot undo the damage that already was done.."

Scar took a deep breath. He tried remembering whether his father spoke in riddles frequently when he was alive or if it was a side effect from being dead. "Today, father.."

"You've blinded yourself from the danger caused by mainly the creatures you've welcomed into this kingdom years ago..-"

"The hyenas? Come on, I still have them under control," Scar waved away his father's words.

"And you didn't see the signs of them plotting against you, led by their new leader." Ahadi finished his sentence without paying attention to Scar's interference. "Normally we'd say bad karma, bad decisions, but.."

Scar barely heard the rest of his father's words. Inside his blood was boiling. "Zira! I should have killed her when I had the chance! She just wants to have the throne for herself..-" Then it suddenly had hit him. "She was after it all along. When I killed Muf..-" One last time the clouds collided and the rain was ebbing away.

"That was quite convenient for her, don't you think? The lion she despised, gone, while his younger, easy to manipulate brother takes the throne. You do the math.." Ahadi gave his son a judging wink.

So, when Simba returns I have to convince him it was Zira..- Scar thought in his own mind. He figured they definitely could use a strong male lion during the fight against Zira and the hyenas that he now knew lied ahead of them.

"Let Nala go!" Ahadi's voice sounded.

"What?" Scar reacted as if he hadn't heard his father correctly.

"Simba will never return on his own. Send Nala, we'll guide her to him," Ahadi now spoke on a softer tone.

"I'm afraid I can't do that." Scar started to pace up and down. "It means I'll have to tell her everything. I'll risk losing her!"

"Would you rather gamble her and her unborn cubs life's?"

Scar's eyes widened. Even in death, his father knew how to hit his son hard. Just this time he chose to use words instead. "My unborn cubs?" Scar's voice shivered. "But how am I going to.." He silenced and looked up. His father's appearance had started to fade away. "Wait! Don't leave me now!"

"Trust your species Taka, and use your brain," Ahadi's voice sounded in distance. "Remember who you are, remember who you truly are.." His father's words echoed. "Taka.. son.." Soon the shapes of the lion in the sky had disappeared and all there was left to see were a few little clouds.

Ahadi left Scar staring at the sky tongue-tied, his eyes still open wide. His father dropped the bomb on him, the message that he had for him all along when he visited him in his dreams. And as sudden as he came, he left again. I can't lose them, I have to do something! He knew that he had to take the first step, before someone else; the enemy beat him to it. He just wasn't quite sure yet where to start. Scar took a deep breath. How was he ever going to have a restful night again?!

"ARGH!" A blast on his head alerted Scar. He chuckled the sore spot on his head and then he looked right into the mischievous eyes of Rafiki. The old baboon had used his staff to smack Scar on his head. "You! You should know better than to hit a king! Why did you do that anyway?" Scar called out to the baboon.

Rafiki bursted into a laughter. "Mufasa says.. hello!" he jokingly spoke. Then, as soon as he appeared, the baboon ran off, leaving the black maned lion behind, very confused.

A/N:

So.. Now Scar knows. I've always wanted a scene between Scar and his father's ghost and I thought Mufasa visited his son too, so why can't Ahadi come to Scar? I hope you like it and stay tuned for how this continues :D.
