Makarov watched the youngsters take their newest addition to his new room. He sighed deeply, rubbing the area over his heart. It had taken all of his willpower not to march down to Phantom Lord himself when he saw the confused look on the Draak's face when he asked if they were going to chain him. That Jose was a monster and Makarov was going to make sure he paid for his crimes.
"Do you think this is truly wise, Master?" His steadfast Titania asked from his side. She leaned against the counter, her ever present sword at her hip.
"He did admit to being dangerous," Laxus agreed, crossing his arms and glowering at the stairs where the group disappeared.
Makarov sighed and sat cross legged, copying his grandson's stance. "Yes, he did say that. But it makes me wonder if he's just repeating what he's been told for years."
"But we don't know anything about him."
He looked to Erza. "Levy does. That's where she's been going all this time. Befriending him, helping him. She saved his life. But I'm still going to do some digging of my own. I want to find out everything that Jose has done to him." He sighed, looking back at the stairs.
They were quiet for a few minutes, just enjoying the sounds of their guild. He tried to hear what was going on upstairs, but unfortunately his children finally learned to use their inside voices.
Lucy and Cana careened into the room, flying straight to Mira. Levy followed after, squeaking protests and a list of dinner suggestions. No boys followed them. Makarov frowned, wondering what they were up to.
"Did you see the way he looked at her?" Erza asked with a smile in her voice as she watched the young Fairies.
Laxus chuckled. "And she was lookin' at him with some pretty doey eyes too."
The trio laughed softly, not wanting to draw Levy's attention. Makarov heaved a great sigh and stared at his arms. "I can't just let him go back to Jose. The boy almost died, all because he defied his master and helped us. And I can't kick him out either, otherwise Levy'll just follow after him to who knows where. I don't even think I want to kick him out."
"So what are we going to do?"
"Do? We are going to do what's right and teach that boy the true meaning of family!"
