Chapter 21

The gang was having dinner at 4A when Leonard and Penny arrived home. Everyone was excited to see them both glowing and looking refreshed from their week-long vacation. They brought out the different souvenirs they got for their friends both from Nebraska and New York and everybody was thankful for the thoughtful gift from the couple.

Bernadette asked them if they already picked a date for the wedding.

"So have you guys already picked a date for the wedding? Bernadette asked the couple.

"We haven't picked out a date yet. We just want to iron out a few things before we start planning the wedding." Leonard said.

"Like what?" Howard asked as he fiddled with his food box.

"Well you know….like living arrangements!" Leonard said casually.

At the mention of living arrangements, everybody turned their attention to Sheldon. They knew that his unhealthy attachment to Leonard will result in him resisting any attempt to change the status quo of their living arrangements.

"What?" Sheldon asked them. "Oh you want to discuss living arrangements since you and Penny are getting married….I will be willing to let her live with us once a week for a trial period of three months…" he offered.

"Sheldon, Penny and I are getting married and are going to live with each other" Leonard told him calmly. "It's going to be me and Penny only." he added.

"What about me?" Sheldon asked.

"Sheldon, it's gonna be me and Penny only." Leonard said.

"Then where am I gonna live!? Are you hearing yourself!? This is not acceptable!" Sheldon was stating to freak out.

Leonard tried to calm him down. "Ok Sheldon, I know this is change and it scares you. I thought about this and there are three options on how we can go about this if you're willing to listen." Leonard said.

Sheldon calmed down for a bit. "Ok...I'm listening." he said.

Leonard took a deep breath. "Ok...option one, I move out and live with Penny in her apartment. You can get another roommate if you want. We can still have dinner here and we can go to work everyday like before. We can still hang out, play video games, go to the comic book store like we used to." Leonard paused. "Option two, me and Penny will take this place and you can move across the hall to her apartment. We still go to work everyday like before, we can still have dinner here as always but at least you will have total control of your own place. You won't have to share the bathroom, the thermostat, the TV, the fridge...everything will be yours…" Leonard continued. "Option three, Penny and me will move out to another building. I doesn't matter where we live as long as we're together." he said as he smiled at Penny. Penny smiled back and held his hand.

Amy decided to chime in. "Sheldon...are you alright?"

Sheldon didn't respond. He was deep in thought as the others look on to him.

"Sheldon...Leonard and I are getting married but it doesn't mean that we don't love you." Penny added. "Right Leonard?" she looked at her fiancee.

"Well…" Leonard somehow hesitated but Penny immediately nudged his side. He quickly smiled "Of course buddy."

"Sheldon...what do you say?…." Amy asked him.

"If I move into Penny's apartment, can I get all my stuff?" Sheldon asked Leonard.

"Sure buddy." Leonard smiled at him.

"Very well, then I will chose option two. I will take Penny's apartment." Sheldon said.

"Really!? Oh my god Sheldon, thank you so much sweetie!" Penny got excited.

Leonard was relieved that Sheldon didn't put too much drama in their living arrangements. He looked at Penny and saw that she was glad that their relationship is moving forward in the right direction.

Later that night, Leonard spent the night with Penny in her apartment. They were lying in bed snuggled up to each other. Penny looked up to him and kissed him. "Honey, do you think Raj will agree to help plan the wedding?" she asked him.

He looked at her. "I'll ask him tomorrow if he will be willing to help."

"Thank you honey. I just want a simple one….maybe a garden wedding….just with our family and friends...a simple reception…" Penny said.

"Or...how about we choose a theme?" Leonard smiled at her.

Penny gave him a stern look. "Okay mister….if you're thinking about Star Trek or Star Wars...then you can get married to yourself….I'm not having my wedding photo looking like a comic book!" she said slightly irritated.

"I'm just joking!" he smiled at her. "We'll do it your way….whatever you want…." he assured her.

"Awww...thank you honey!" Penny said as she kissed him as she snuggled up to him.
