Misfit Chapter 24: "The Evil Triplet"
Hey ya'll, I'm back! Miss me? *crickets chirp* Sorry I'm a bit late! I've been obsessed with my other story Nobody Listens. It's a Dewey centric story. I've been updating like crazy! I just posted it on June 3rd, and it already has 26 chapters!
After I write this I'm going to need to go back to writing Enough because I haven't updated that in a long time. And Hurt By Words.
Also, this takes place before chapters 22 and 23.
Glomgold tapped his foot on the floor in annoyance.
He had just come home after being SCAMMED by an eleven year old child. (Yes you heard that right, CHILD)
He hadn't lost everything. He still had the money clip he had managed to steal from Scrooge when he was a boy, and he could cash that in for a lot of money.
He could remake his fortune.
After all, he was Flintheart Glomgold the schemer!
He could make a scheme and steal money.
Of course, with his precious little baby sharks!
He had a GREAT shark guy.
That was not what bothered him.
What bothered him was how a wee little child could manage to pull something off like that. None of the other members of the family could do something like that, could they?
No.
No they couldn't.
Glomgold's hands balled into fists and he bristled, "How DARE he?"
Everything had been perfect.
Why, it was the perfect scheme!
He was going to get a family of villains together and get their money, he was going to gain trust, and he was going to steal their money from them after he won the bet!
Though somehow, that green clad duckling's scheme had been…..well, let's just say more perfect than his.
Glomgold rubbed his temple and sat down on his chair, how could he so dumb? Why hadn't he signed his real name?!
Suddenly, a thought flew into Glomgold's head:
"…Or should I say, my new partner!"
He looked thoughtful for a second; almost smart. (Which is something we all know Glomgold is not!)
Hmmm….
Wasn't that boy dubbed the "evil triplet?"
He had worked with him several times before for money, such as the time he had acted as his caddie.
The kid hadn't lifted a finger to help him when he sprung literally all the traps in Moorshire. He just calmly watched and reached his hand out for money.
If anyone was a savage, it was him!
However, in other times, Glomgold had discovered the green boy could be just as frail as a flower. One touch and the flower wilts.
He would often see him muttering stuff like, "I'm not bad" or "stop criticizing me" or "I won't become you."
The kid was obviously having some kind of emotional breakdown. Glomgold had managed to get some footage from McDuck manor as well.
He watched as the little green duckling rolled his sleeves to wash his hands at the kitchen sink.
Now, you might think this was weird.
Why was Glomgold watching some random boy washing his hands?
Sounds kind of stalker-ish to me.
But there was something very valuable in the frame. Glomgold stared at his monitor with wide eyes and enhanced the image. Scars covered the boy's wrist.
Had he gotten them from an adventure?
Glomgold squinted and re-adjusted his glasses, no, if he had gotten them on an adventure, wouldn't Scrooge get them cleaned? The scratches were red, swollen, and pretty deep.
It looked like the dirty work of a knife.
The boy was harming himself?
Glomgold un-paused the footage and watched as he pulled his hoodie over his head, whimpering and mumbling something.
An older female duck came around the corner. (whom Glomgold had forgotten the name of, honestly, the McDuck/Duck family tree was VERY confusing)
Glomgold watched as the expression of the duckling turned from annoyed to scared and he gripped the string of his hoodie.
Glomgold zoomed in on the woman, he remembered her from somewhere. He took out a newspaper from ten years ago titled "Daring Adventurer Della Duck Now Lost In Space."
So the green boy's mom had come back from space and he obviously wasn't taking it very well.
Glomgold could understand why. They were essentially complete opposites. One was honest and brave while other was a liar and cowardly for that matter.
He could use this.
He could very well use this.
Without one family member, a whole family falls apart.
The other family members seemed to ignore him/scold him most of the time in the footage.
That kid was hurt.
Mentally.
Physically.
Just flat out hurt.
His family thought he was useless…
But boy did that duckling have potential…
How would the Ducks react when the supposedly "useless" member of the family was kidnapped?
At first they would probably try to ignore the truth, probably try to reason with themselves that they could find the missing kid.
But slowly, the family would fall apart.
Bingo.
And Glomgold wasn't going to make it easy for them.
He had just the perfect plan.
Or should I say, the perfect scheme?
Whatever it was, it was going to be absolutely perfect.
There was no one who could intervene.
After all, Louie (was that his name?) was just a misfit.
He didn't fit in with his family.
But here, Louie was certainly going to be of use.
No one even cared about him.
No one would save him….
Until it was too late.
They would understand his worth just when his plan would succeed.
They won't be able to save him.
Nothing could ruin this plan.
Just like Louie had said, "As long as there's no surprises, it's fine."
There were no surprises.
Glomgold made sure of that.
No magical artifacts he could use to stop him, no curses he could put on him, no nothing.
He grinned evilly.
Yes.
Yes!
This was PERFECT!
But what Glomgold didn't count on was one small duckling dressed all in yellow.
One small duckling named June.
Don't forget to review, follow, and fav! :) ;D
