Hello, the author here. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still grateful for the reviews so thank you again. Also, in this chapter you'll find out what's wrong with Kyle. However, I'm not going to write great detail on explaining it so, if you do want to know more then I'm going to point you in the direction of my other Fanfic: The Camping Trip from chapter 87 as I go into detail on that chapter onwards about it. Anyway, here's the next chapter.
Day 1 – Missing in the Bush – (5:25am) 5 hours and 44 minutes later…
Crash Site – Middle of the Bush
Bianca was the first to wake out of everyone, as her mind had been filled of thoughts of her husband and sister making it harder to sleep not to mention the noises.
Getting up Bianca, decided to sort the food rations out for breakfast.
Thank God, this lot are teenagers. Can always count on them to have snacks when you need them. I think we'll have the chocolate bars for breakfast as they'll melt if it gets hot during the day. Plus, there's enough for one each so they might not complain as much.
Bianca stopped thinking to herself when she noticed movement coming from Colby, who was just waking up.
Quietly, Bianca says: "Morning."
Looking around, Colby replies: "Morning. I was hoping this was all a dream and instead I'd wake up to both Dean and Willow's mess around the apartment."
"I wish it was a dream. I'd hate to think how Heath is feeling right now because you guarantee they'll know we're missing now."
Getting up from the ground and walking over to where Bianca was sorting breakfast: "Yes, they should hopefully have a search party going now. I take it we are having chocolate for breakfast."
Laughing quietly: "What gave it away? On serious note, I though these might not last if it gets hot as we don't know what the weather will be like so, might as well get them eaten."
"Imagine what we would have done if this lot hadn't had all the snacks on them."
"Oh god, I'd hate to think but they still don't have enough to last more than a couple of days." Bianca says as notices Kyle shifting in his sleep.
Watching the woman, Colby followed her gaze and then said: "What's going on with Kyle?"
Snapping her head back around: "What do you mean?"
"Well, yesterday you said what loudly while you two were talking then started whisper amongst yourselves." Colby says remember how the woman had shouted.
"Nothing's going on."
"Bianca, I'm trained to know when people are lying, and you are certainly lying right now."
Looking at her husband's friend and work colleague, Bianca thinks it might be a good idea to have someone helping keep an eye on Kyle: "Fine but I need you to promise you won't tell anyone not even Kyle that I told you this."
"It must be big if I can't even tell him."
"Kyle's not well."
"Well no one is considering we were just in a chopper crash."
"No Colby, he's not well."
Finally, Colby starts to understand what she means by not well: "Hang on, you don't just mean a cold do you?"
"No, I mean seriously life threatening."
Running his hand across his face: "What's wrong with him?"
"Kyle has CKD."
"What?"
"Chronic Kidney Disease, apparently he was diagnosed with it a year before his mum died and he came to the Bay. We only found out when he passed out in the restaurant and had to be taken to hospital."
"Jesus, poor kid. So, why did you shout?"
"Well, we were only meant to be in the city for a couple hours, but Kyle decided to take a bottle of his medication instead of only one tablet as he might lose it. Now that bottle should have had 14 left in it, which would have lasted him seven days as take them twice a day. I hoped with that amount left they'd find us by then."
"Should have?"
"Turns out there's only eight left, which means there would only be enough for four days. So, he didn't have one last night so he could try and make them last."
"If he's meant to have two a day, what will happen if he only has one? Or worse what if they don't find us before they run out?"
"Well, he passed out last time as he missed two tablets, one the night before he collapsed and one on the morning of the day he collapsed. So, there is a chance that if he doesn't have at least one in 24 hours that might happen again."
"Bianca, that still doesn't answer the question of what happens if he runs out?"
"Honestly, I have no idea Colby. We are still learning about CKD ourselves."
"So, what you're basically saying is anything could happen if he runs out."
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Bianca nods her head "And, the only reason I've told you is because I need someone else to help keep an eye on him. I promised Brax that I'd bring him back from the city in one piece, so I'm determined to being home from here in one piece."
Looking at the teen then back at her, Colby said: "Well, that's exactly what we are going to do. We are all going to come home in one piece except maybe your wrist and Belle's arm. However, I am glad you told me about Kyle as it gives me an idea of if he collapses why it happened instead of being in the dark."
Suddenly, Kyle shifts again in his sleep this time he much which knocks Belle. Both teens wake up just stare at each as they realise, they were still in the bush.
"Guess they won't be going back to sleep." Colby laughs trying to change Bianca's mood a little bit.
Just then the rest of the group starts to wake up too.
"I guess breakfast is going to be served sooner than we thought." Bianca laughs grabbing the chocolate bars and walking back over to the group with Colby.
With that she starts dishing out the bars and they all prepare themselves for the day ahead in hopes they are found.
