AN So, it's been a while since I touched this story, about four days but that's a long time for this story. But in between Minecraft survival and setting up a whole new Marvel Universe on this site cough cough go read Daredevil: The Man Without Fear to know what happens with Stryker's company after his death in Chapter 17. And, let's be honest, it's gonna take more than forty minutes to write this. Let's go.
Elizabeth cracked her fingers, preparing for an all-out war. She wasn't going to enjoy wiping the floor with Raven for two reasons: one, she was her friend and two, Raven had been trained by Logan since she was seven. This was not going to be fun.
"Betsy," Raven grunted when she swung a kick to Elizbeth's face, "C'mon, mutant rights? Haven't you always wanted that?" Elizabeth barely ducked it, so she decided to go on the offence. She kicked out at Raven's leg and she went down.
"YES! But not like this." She said through gritted teeth, just before the other girl dragged her down to the mud. Betsy channelled all her energy down into her right arm. The blue girl grunted in surprise as a purple blade, made from Betsy's own force shimmered inches off of her knuckles. She slashed at Raven but she was already on her feet.
"You're outnumbered Erik!" Peter cried as he batted down a flying rear view mirror.
"But for how long Rasputin?" Lehnsherr replied coolly. At his signal, a lorry crashed through the ground's wall. Out of it poured mutants of all shapes and sizes. "Ya had t'ask." Logan sighed as he hit down a green guy.
Raven looked down at her former friend. Betsy was pushing herself up, that magical blade still hovering impossibly close to her knuckles. Blood was trickling down her nose, into her mouth. Raven knelt down by the girl. "Betsy, for whatever it's worth… I'm sorry." She bowed her head and kissed the top of Betsy's. Then she got up and walked away.
Bobby kicked out at John. The punk's lighter falling from his hand to the grass. Bobby grabbed the thing, flicked it open and let ice pour from his open palm and freeze the flame. John could control fire, not create it. He tossed it to the side. "Scott, look! Raven." Scott turned and saw the blue girl running. He nodded his appreciation and twisted the nozzle of his visor and let out a short burst flare in front of her. She was thrown backward several feet.
Raven screamed in frustration. "Scott, I hate you." She muttered to no one in particular, adopting the foetal position. A mutant with chalky white skin and a dark grey patch over her left eye ran over to her. The woman's hair was black and there were two guns holstered at her hips. "C'mon, get up," She said softly, "I'm Neena, Thurman. Are you hurt?" Raven shook her head vigorously, she allowed Neena to take her hand and pull her up. "You look like a domino." Raven wheezed.
"I get that a lot."
Scott narrowly dodged a charging brute clad in dark red (sleeveless) armour and a dome-like helmet. He shot a long laser into the guy's back and he heard an angry roar. "Oh no." Scott said quietly. The guy spun and charged again. Jut as the man was about to make impact and he would be squashed, he was thrown out of the way, or… pulled. He looked up from the grass to see Jean, her hand outstretched. The guy didn't stop sprinting. He was going to run Xavier down before Rasputin, his body rapidly turning to steel, swung an almighty punch into the brute's jaw. The armour-guy flopped to the mud. "Woah," Anna muttered.
Wade nodded to Logan. Logan nodded back to Wade. Erik sent a long spear of shredded truck Peter's way and Wade dived in front. He had Logan's healing factor. He'd be fine. It penetrated his chest and he screamed. "How's this for a darker period in this story?" He smiled as the metal pierced it's way through all his important organs. He drooped his head, let Lehnsherr dream. He shot his head up. "Havvatt me bit-" He stopped because the metal had just wrecked his voice box. Damn.
Ororo watched the metal stab through Mister Wilson's chest and she leapt into the air, infuriated. She slapped her hand together and lightning struck down directly where she was pointing. The floating car. "Oops," Was all she said.
Logan was kneeling on the ground next to the mangled body of Wilson. He turned his head we he heard the zap. Lightning had struck Erik's car. He fell to the floor and yelled loud. For all to hear, "MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS! WE LEAVE NOW!" Logan let a grin cross his features. "Wade, we won." He whispered to his downed friend. Wade nodded. A marred smile on his bloodied face. The enemy left. Some carried, some walked, some dragged. Logan lay down, Wade could pull the strip of metal from his chest. Wheezing and panting, sleep found him almost instantly.
Betsy crossed the field, the blade fading from existence with every second. Anna was helping her get back into the school, into their dorm. She vaguely remembered getting changed and pulling her purple hair from its ponytail and flopping under the covers. Anna wasn't awake for long after.
AN Wow, I did not expect to get that done in one sitting. I'm gonna take a while off of this for a bit. I want to focus on Daredevil for a bit. Go search it up, it fills in what happens with Stryker's legacy. I'm done. I'll be back in July or something. After writing that ending, I kinda wanna sleep too. Yes, the X-Men roster will change next time I'm writing this story. Don't think of this as a farewell to this story but more a… see you in a while.
