After her match against Pokkle, it was an easy win. She wasted no time and got the battle done and over with. All it took was Vividus pinning Pokkle to the ground and attempted to break his fingers. Considering he's an archer, he refused to lose his fingers. So he surrendered. There were a couple of matches that continued after that. Hisoka surrendered to Kurapika. Hanzo won against Pokkle during the second time, and Killua surrendered against Pokkle because he had no interest in fighting him. Due to Hisoka beating the living daylights out of Bodoro, he forfeits the match. But due to the applicant's injuries, Leorio suggested for the old man to recover. So it was Gittarackur against Killua.

During the match, Gittarackur removed his needles shown his true face to Killua. Revealing himself as Killua's older brother, Illumi Zoldyck. She felt nothing but rage towards the man she once respected during this exam. She felt her brother holding her hand. Trying to comfort his older sister.

"V-Vividus, please calm down," Kurapika said worriedly.

"I will not." She said sternly, hearing the conversation being exchanged towards the two.

She was livid.

Illumi talked down on Killua, calling him a monster and how he only took pleasure in seeing people die. How he is not cut out to become a hunter. Biting her lower lip in frustration, she finally saw firsthand why Killua disliked his family so much.

Why he felt so fearful towards his older brother.

"Killua!" Vividus yelled towards the boy, "Don't listen to him!"

At that moment, she saw Illumi suddenly throwing a needle towards her. Using her free hand, she caught his needle with her fingers.

"Hey!" The referee barked, "You are not allowed to harm other applicants if they are not your opponent! That is your final warning!"

Illumi rolled his eyes, his empty onyx eyes boring into Vividus's hazel-grey ones. "I said what I meant earlier, Vividus. I respect you, but please try not to meddle into our family conversation."

"You call that a family conversation?!" She yelled, glaring at Illumi. "You're making him feel like he is worthless! Not worthy of becoming a hunter! He is more than qualified, just like anyone else here in this room!"

"N-No Vividus...he's right." Killua stuttered, "I have no desire to become a hunter. However...I do want something from all of this."

"No, you don't," Illumi said calmly.

"I do!"

"Then what do you want?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.

At first, he didn't say anything. But Killua managed to take a quick glance at Vividus. Her expression screaming nothing but worry. Killua seeing her like this is making her heartache, he never wanted to make her worry about him like this. He didn't want to burden her with all this. Killua quickly looked away and just stared down at the ground.

But sadly, Illumi caught him glancing at Vividus.

"Really? You want her?" Illumi asked. Raising an eyebrow.

"N-Not just her...but I also want to become friends with Gon. I'm sick of killing people. I want to become friends with Gon and spend more time with Onee-chan. Attempt to live a normal life with both of them in it."

His comment tugged on Vividus's heartstrings. Kurapika felt her grip tighten more after hearing those words. Her little brother looked up at his sister in worry. This is the first time he has seen her ever act like this. The only time she was ever this worried about someone was when it came to Kurapika's safety. Looking over at Killua, Kurapika started to realize that Vividus genuinely does care for him.

The Kurta teenager felt his heart skip a beat, but not in a good way. Kurapika couldn't help but to feel a bit jealous about how much Vividus is showing care towards Killua. Seeing how the two interacted with one another throughout the exam, he made him a bit sad that his sister wasn't willing to act like that with him. How Killua is allowed to call her Onee-chan and he's not? He is fully aware that she couldn't act like they usually do due to safety reasons...but still.

'No' Kurapika said to himself, squeezing his sister's hand in comfort. 'Now is not the time to be jealous.'

"Wow, you care about Vividus so much that you even call her Onee-chan?" Illumi said, throwing his head back into a sinister laugh. "I must say, I didn't realize she had that much of an impact on you!"

After laughing for a bit, he suddenly stopped. Now staring at Killua again with those void eyes of his. "Your concern when you meet someone is whether you should kill them. That's how you were trained. You just don't know how to Classify Gon or Vividus because they are too dazzling for your eyes." He stated, narrowing his eyes towards Killua. "You don't actually want to become friends with Gon, and you only keep Vividus close because you used her to fill that empty void in your dead heart."

Killua shook his head, staring at his older brother with mixed emotions. "You're wrong..."

Vividus wanted to cry, seeing Killua suffer like this was too much for her. She felt her ren starting to seeth out of her as Examiners, and other applicants began to sense her hostility towards Illumi.

"If you stay with them, you'll end up wanting to kill them one day. You'll get the urge to see if you can kill Gon or not. You'll discard Vividus when you no longer have any use for her."

Vividus looked over to see Leorio taking a step forward. But one of the guards stopped him in place. "You know the rules."

"Yeah yeah, I know!" Leorio said, screaming at Killua. "I don't care if he is your brother, Killua. Just beat the crap out of him like usual and win!"

All the attention is now on Leorio. He pointed at Killua with a furious expression on his face. "You want to become friends with Gon? You want Vividus to stay by your side? Then understand this! You are already friends with Gon, Vividus already cherishes her as if you are one of her own! That's how they feel!"

Vividus flinched towards Leorio's comment. Looking up at the loud man with wide eyes. "Leorio..."

Illumi blinked a few times, looking over at Leorio. "Oh? Is that true?"

Leorio nodded his head in confidence. "Damn straight, it's true!"

The older Zolduck nodded his head, holding his chin in thought. "Hm...Gon already considers Kil as his friend, and Vividus treating him as if she's her own blood? No, no, that can't be good." He said. Now pointing his finger up as if he had an idea. "That settles then! I'm going to kill Gon and Vividus."

Everyone was thrown back by Illumi's comment. Many eyes weren't sure who to look at anymore—Illumi, who decided to make Gon and Vividus a target. Killua was shocked that his brother is willing to go that far, or Vividus, who was taken back by this whole situation.

Hisoka looked over at the Kurta woman, observing her as he was curious about what she was going to do next. He didn't like the idea of Illumi hunting down his prey nor trying to hurt his favourite toy. However, he just stayed quiet and decided to see how the scene will play out before him. As much as he valued Illumi as an acquaintance, he didn't like the idea of somebody touching his new prey, let alone his favourite toy.

However, Hisoka knew better than to interfere with this battle, this has nothing to do with him right now. For now, he felt it was best to just sit back and watch everything unfold before him. Still keeping a close eye on the Kurta woman.

At that moment, Illumi took a couple of needles out of his pocket. He looked over at Vividus as his lust to kill Vividus increases. The Kurta woman wasn't scared of Illumi, not one bit. As Illlumi looked over at Vividus with a threatening presence, she simply returned the favour by showing just as much hostility towards the Oldest Zoldyck. Everyone in the room felt the two opposing individuals auras, some are shaking, others are surprised, while few are not phased by this at all.

"Vividus, are you threatening me?" Illumi asked, his eyes boring deep into her own.

"Perhaps I am, Illumi." She said confidently, feeling Kurapika's grip tighten even more."What are you going to do about it?"

Killua didn't like this one bit, he felt sweat strolling down his cheeks as he felt Illumi's and Vividus's aura battling against one another. It was suffocating for the poor Zoldyck child. The last thing he wanted was Vividus to get hurt on his behalf, he felt like she didn't deserve to be dragged into his mess.

"No!" Killua yelled, looking at his brother with pleading eyes. "Don't hurt them!"

"Then understand this, Kil. A killer doesn't need any friends. They'll only slow you down. Since Vividus is here first, I'll kill her...and then hunt down the boy."

Walking towards Vividus, a bodyguard suddenly stood in front of Illumi. Trying to stop him. However, he threw three needles that embedded itself into the guard's face: twisting his face into a discomforting look.

"Before I kill Vividus, tell me. Where is Gon located?"

The bodyguard tried to fight against it, but the pain was too much for him. "I-In the waiting room outside the door..." With that, he collapsed.

Nodding his head in approval, Illumi was about to approach Vividus. But Kurapika stood in front of Vividus. Looking at the blonde, the oldest Zoldyck would look over towards the door and see Hanzo and Leorio, guarding it so Illumi wouldn't get to Gon. Not without a fight at least.

"Ah...this won't do. I need a Hunter License to do my job." Illumi said, pouting a bit. "If I kill them, I'll get disqualified, and Kil will automatically pass. Oh darn! The same thing will happen if I kill Gon and Vividus."

He held his thin in thought, soon had the expression on his face as if he had a new idea. "I know! I'll pass the exam first, and then I'll kill them both!"

Looking past Kurapika, Vividus was trying to hardest to contain herself. She was trying too hard to contain her aura as her body is ready to fight. She didn't care at this point anymore if she fails. There is no way she will let this man hurt those who Vividus values and kill the others. At this point, she was ready to defend herself and the others if need be. Illumi was starting to become unpredictable.

"Illumi, you bastard," Vividus growled. Feeling her eyes flashing between Scarlet and Hazel-grey as her emotions were all over the place.

Illumi caught her eyes flashing, however, it didn't phase him one bit. Looking over at Netero, he brushed off her anger that's looming over his shoulder. "If I wait until after passing the exam, I can kill everyone here and still keep my license, right?"

Netero nodded his head, "Yes, according to the rules."

"Did you hear that, Kil?" Illumi asked, looking over at his brother. "You have to beat me if you want to save Gon and Vividus." He turned his attention away from Vividus and the others. Now slowly walking towards Killua. "Will you fight me for your friend's sake? I know for a fact that you can't do it, you're not strong enough. Why? Because you're more worried about whether or not you can defeat me."

Killua looked up, staring at his brother in fear. No words escaping his lips as he felt the presence of his older brother come closer. "You already have your answer: 'I'm not strong enough to beat my brother.' " He said, reaching his hand out towards Killua. " 'Never fight an enemy you can't beat.', I drilled that into you."

Vividus saw the petrified look on Killua's face, her heart feels like it's crumbling into pieces seeing how scared he is. "Killua, don't let him get to you! I won't let him hurt Gon or anyone else here. You have my word!" The woman screamed, hoping her words would get to him.

But it was pointless, nothing was hitting Killua. The poor boy wanted to run, but Illumi commanded him not to move. "If you move an inch, I'll assume that the fight as begun. If I touch you, the fight as begun. There is only one way for this to end. But just remember: if you don't fight me, your friend Gon and your dearest Onee-chan will die."

Leorio started to scream at Killua, trying his best to give as much encouraging words towards Killua as possible. Kurapika looked back at Vividus to see that she was unable to respond, she wasn't sure what to say next. He saw that Vividus's eyes were mainly focused on Killua.

"Killua..." Vividus said, looking at the poor boy. "No matter what happens, we will protect Gon with all our might. I will be able to handle myself against Illumi. Please don't surrender for our sake."

The Kurta woman was hoping that her words were enough to pierce through Killua. She was hoping that her usual words of encouragement were enough to make him realize that everything is going to be okay.

However, Killua didn't believe that. He looked down at the ground, feeling weak and incredibly defeated. He didn't want their blood to be on his hands, he didn't wish for Illumi to hurt those he truly cared about. He finally let Illumi's words sink into his skin. Finally, saying the words to end this.

"I surrender."
