Place: General John Connor's camp-The Armory (a storage for the resistance fighters' weapons)
Situation: John's death (suicide)
Action: A gun going off inside the armory alerts Derek who is just passing through. He discovers Cameron standing next to John's dead body inside the building.
Derek (pointing a gun at Cameron): Step away from the deceased, Machine
Cameron (stepping away from John's body): I didn't kill John. He shot himself.
I witnessed everything.
Derek (checking John's pulse): He doesn't have a pulse
Cameron: I am so sorry for your loss
Derek: You killed John
Cameron: No. John was my friend.
Derek (yelling at Cameron): I don't believe you. John's blood is on your hands and clothes.
Cameron: You should watch the security tape. The camera captured everything.
Derek (walking toward the security backroom): If the security tape doesn't prove John killed himself then I will kill you.
(Derek watches the security tape and his heart is broken. He wished Cameron had killed John instead of John killing himself. Derek informs the resistance fighters about John's death. They give him a proper burial. The Flashback ends.)

Place: The Connor Reese Residence-The Garage/The Gym
Action: John catches Derek (has been hitting the punching bag) having an emotional moment
John: Derek, are you ok?
Derek (choked up): The real question is are you okay?
John: Why are you flipping the question on me?
Derek: You killed yourself in the future. The machine and I discovered your dead body.
John (in denial): I love my life. I will never kill myself.
Derek: Time will only tell
