"Midorin, I brought your lucky item!" Momoi saw Himeragi appear in front of Midorima's classroom holding a green scrunchie. After handing it to him, the students looked at them interact, never seeing Midorima talk so long with a girl. "Did you read the reform proposal I sent last night?" he nodded, pushing up his glasses. The content was thoroughly organized and the parts that needed to be filled in could be omitted by in-person testimony.
"You likely already know this but the idea banks on the assumption that the involved parties are comfortable in speaking about their experiences. Another thing is the second part of the reform: don't you think there will be backlash from athletes?"
"Yes. The only way that this proposal would be considered is if we obtain that evidence and I'm working on it with my committee to devise a strategy. As for the second part of the reform, what do you think of enforcing a probation instead of a strike system?"
"Do athletes on probation also get to play in national level games?" Midorima brought up a good point; given Sanada's actions the past month, there was a worry that Aomine would still get away with not coming to practice.
"I'm not keen on having a committee meet every time an athlete goes on probation… But given—"
"I think you're right. We won't have many cases to begin with. The troublemakers would be dealt with in the first part of the reform." Momoi gasped at how much Midorima grasped Himeragi's train of thought and trusted her. For him to not have any complaints and to agree with her, was a sight, especially since they didn't start out on the best of terms. Everyone looked at them in shock, as they were oblivious to the gazes. "What did Akashi say about it?"
"He is willing to convene a meeting in a week's time with the condition that the proposal must be done in two days." Midorima smirked. The Student Council had this bad habit of having great ideas and working tirelessly to make them happen, as soon as possible.
"Well… do you need help with the testimonies?"
"No no, Midorin. You'll be sore after today's practice so I wouldn't recommend extra work on top of it." He didn't like the sound of that and sighed, stopping her from leaving for her homeroom.
"I still won't mind helping. So if you want me to help, I'll help."
"Then shall I trouble you?" Himeragi was quick to realize that he wouldn't take no for an answer and smiled up at him.
"Yeah." he said with a small smile of his own. Momoi and Kise were going to join the conversation before they ducked into their classrooms because their captain was coming. Akashi passed them in the hallway, knowing that they were talking about how to finish off the report that he'd look at.
"Vice-President, Shintarō." Momoi, Kise and Midorima were off-put by the way he addressed Himeragi but concealed their reactions as they watched him talk to her. It was normal for the duo to talk about work-related matters but any of their friends could feel the rift, one that Akashi was imposing. Yet Himeragi didn't look surprised and continued acting as she normally did, nodding at the points he was making. "I'd also like to sit in on the meeting with the students." Himeragi and Midorima both did double takes, with the former quickly straightening up. Midorima figured that Himeragi misunderstood Akashi's intentions but did nothing because clarifying Akashi's behavior would do him a disservice.
"Of course, feel free to join, President." She hoped that the flowery air around her would deter him from joining in but Akashi just stared her down, with a gaze that made even Himeragi look like prey. Midorima sighed as he imagined the crying that would if he showed this menacing gaze to those girls. After Akashi walked to his classroom, Momoi and Kise poked their heads outside of their classrooms again and Midorima let out a sigh of relief. "Don't worry, Midorin~"
"Oh I'm not worried about the outcome. I just didn't peg Akashi as the push and pull type." Momoi and Kise stifled laughs, as Himeragi wondered who was laughing in the background. He knew he was probably reading too far into the situation but Akashi was a complex fellow. Every action he carried out had more than one underlying motive. When Himeragi just tilted her head to the side, Midorima had only one question to ask her at the moment. "Himeragi, do you know what it means when a guy asks to go out?"
"Go out where?" Momoi froze in shock as well. Luckily for Midorima, homeroom was starting.
"Return to your classroom." He looked like he was in a foul mood as Momoi facepalmed. Sure push and pull wasn't a necessary tactic to use when courting a girl but if Himeragi didn't know what "going out" meant, she wouldn't have been able to understand Midorima's first point.
"Perhaps what draws all of them in, is the fact that Azu-chan is full of surprises." When she saw Kise trying not to laugh from the other side of Midorima's classroom, Momoi wasn't surprised.
"Ki-chan, Azu-chan's obliviousness is bad news for you too."
"But you see, Momocchi~ Because I won't make such complicated innuendos, I won't have to worry about Azu-cchi not understanding. I can just act like we're learning about it together!"
"You're not using 'innuendo' in the right context…" Because of the interactions she saw, Momoi started the school day wondering if there was anyone normal pursuing her best friend. Currently the answer was no.
"Aomine-kun, let's go eat lunch." Momoi said, appearing in front of his desk to drag him to the cafeteria. He was taking a nap but because he had good instincts, he instantly woke up to her voice and stares from his classmates.
"Nah, go eat with Azusa or something."
"But I want to eat with you today." It was burdensome that only Aomine could see the penetrating gazes of the other students, who were clearly interested in Momoi. Without knowing that he was glaring at other male students that were trying to invite Momoi to lunch, she pouted. She didn't usually ask him to go to lunch and he was acting this way? "Why aren't you even talking to me these days? Did I do something wrong?" Aomine was just annoyed with school and yawned.
"Well if you're just doing this to make me come to practice, save it. I'll go when I want and don't need you to meddle." That was partially the reason she reached out to him but as his childhood friend, Momoi wanted him to at least think of their friendship. It made her unhappy.
"Do you really think I'm doing this for the team? You don't think I'm doing this because you're my childhood friend?" He figured both were accurate reasons, so he wasn't necessarily wrong to assume that she was here because she was the first manager of the First String.
"Hey, you're the one that didn't want to act like childhood friends from the beginning." Her eyes widened because although he was right, he never seemed upset about her changing the way she addressed him to "Aomine-kun." Feeling saddened that he was using their long-time friendship to say hurtful things, Momoi turned away.
"Then I'm saying this as a manager. Your recent behavior is unacceptable." She left his classroom pouting, without noticing that Aomine did feel bad for troubling her. When she couldn't find Kuroko either, Momoi was even more disheartened, before Kise found her.
"Momocchi, what's wrong? Don't you usually eat lunch with Azu-cchi?" When Momoi was going to say that Himeragi was in a meeting, she felt herself tearing up. It felt like their friend group was splitting up and that made her want to cry.
"Aomine-kun is an idiot…" Kise expected that his friend would do something insensitive, as he thought of a way to make Momoi feel even a bit better. The answer was almost always Himeragi, as he walked Momoi to the Disciplinary Committee's meeting room.
"I'm sure Azu-cchi will eat lunch with you and hear out your worries, Momocchi. Maybe she'll even help you get back at Aominecchi~" That was quite likely, as Momoi looked into the classroom to see Himeragi speaking to her six other committee members. Luckily for Kise, he realized quickly that he'd get reprimanded by Himeragi if he was here and not studying for the upcoming English test, which he was at risk of failing. As he hid behind the corner, Momoi took the chance when the room was quiet to open the door.
"Azu-chan! Aomine-kun said he doesn't want to practice again!" As Aomine actually ended up meeting Kise around the corner and the latter told him to hide before Himeragi found him, they gulped when Himeragi crumpled the paper in her hand. The other students in the room also swallowed cautiously, hoping that Himeragi wasn't going to react to even the slightest sound.
"Then tell him don't come! Go home for all I care." Unexpectedly, she was more angry that her meeting was interrupted by Aomine's antics.
"I-It's true! Azu-cchi is done with us!" It was his idea but Kise immediately regretted it when he heard Himeragi's response.
"Please do a patrol of the clubs after school today. After the meeting with the girls, I'll send a message to you all with updates."
"Yes, Vice-President!" Just as Himeragi thanked them for their good work and told Momoi that they should eat, the male students of her task force kneeled in front of her. The three other girls in the room gasped when two of them kissed the backs of her hands.
"Thank you for working tirelessly for the sake of our students. We will follow your every command."
"You all do amazing work so thank you for being a part of my cabinet." she said, flashing an endearing smile that made all of her committee members kneel. Momoi suddenly picked up on the reason behind this excessive behavior when the other students looked at her with teasing grins.
"It is for this reason that we won't always be kind enough to share Himeragi-san with the basketball team. Sorry about that, Momoi-san." When Kise and Aomine saw Momoi tearing up again, they wondered what happened, as Himeragi never made Momoi cry.
"Don't cry, don't cry. And don't tease her." They immediately abided by her words and let her head with Momoi to an empty classroom. Aomine didn't want to deal with Kise either and went to take a nap again, knowing that he had no right to say anything back to Himeragi's anger. It bothered Momoi that Himeragi wasn't fazed by the changes in the team dynamics while the former was about to succumb to tears just thinking about it. When she saw Himeragi without the Generation of Miracles by her side, Momoi felt even worse. Her fear that their friends were drifting farther and farther away was coming true.
"Azu-chan, will our friend group not be the same anymore?" It wasn't the time to smile but she always had this thought when she looked at her best friend. Momoi didn't notice the expression on Himeragi's face and continued talking, hating the silence. "Azu-chan, if you knock some sense into them…"
"I can't change their complacency. Of course they're still our dear friends but I refuse to coddle them and give them special treatment by trying to talk them out of their self-satisfaction." Rather, she chose the route where she was going to require them to practice because rules and the resulting consequences were more clear-cut. It was a hunch but Himeragi expected that part of Momoi's worries came from Aomine's childish behavior. Unlike Momoi, she wasn't nice enough to indulge his immaturity.
"Is it really okay for the team to disappear like this?" Momoi asked, knowing that Himeragi was the one that cared the most about the team.
"Whether we turn a blind eye to their actions or force them into coming back to practice, they'll eventually lash out, no?" Himeragi wasn't afraid of dealing with their tantrums and figured there'd be cons to either side. Having forgotten to tell Momoi what the Student Council was preparing to enforce, she felt sorry that she was making transitions as well, without telling Momoi. It wasn't kind to just let her best friend be swept with the tide. After telling Momoi the purpose of the previous meeting and why she was with Akashi and Midorima so often, Himeragi apologized for putting things into motion, without asking Momoi about how she was feeling.
"I know it's still early but I miss seeing them all laughing and then going to get ice cream after practice…" Himeragi recalled that Kise and Momoi were still friendly and wondered if Kuroko and Aomine were ignoring Momoi's attempts to even talk to them. If that was the case, then it made sense why Momoi was in a bad mood: both of them meant a lot to her. Himeragi didn't respond and fed Momoi some of her bento before noticing that Momo's hands were balled into fists.
"Satsuki, have you been clenching your fists all this time? Try to relax your muscles okay?" When Himeragi held her hands, Momoi felt a surge of the emotions she tried to keep hidden. But it still hurt to be told to leave Aomine alone and to see Kuroko so aloof. "Here, hand cream!" Himeragi said, holding up a peach scented hand cream. When she began to rub it on Momoi's hands, the latter let out tears.
"Azu-chan!" Momoi yelled, wrapping her arms around Himeragi and resting her head on her shoulders. Himeragi stopped moving for a moment, worried that she'd make her cry even more.
"If you don't like hand cream, how about a hairstyle change? I'll brush your hair." When Momoi continued to bawl, Himeragi figured her answer was none of the above and quietly patted her head, whispering that she wasn't going anywhere. Kuroko heard Momoi's cries and felt responsible, watching the heart wrenching scene from outside the classroom. "It's not okay. But for now, talking to them will have the reverse effect." Himeragi hated to do nothing at the moment but after considering all the events and the personalities of the prodigies, she came to the sad conclusion that they were knuckleheads that wouldn't listen. "I'm sorry to ask this of you but Satsuki, please hold on until they regain their love for basketball. Let's wait together, okay?" As much as he felt bad that Momoi was feeling this way because of him, Kuroko was still fighting with Aomine, without figuring out what only he could do for the team. Akashi had told him to give up on Aomine but there was still ambivalence in Kuroko's heart and this confusion was affecting his performance. He couldn't answer Himeragi's question about what he could do now and until he found that answer, he was in a state of self-annoyance.
"Oh Kuro-chin, haven't seen you in a while~"
"Hello, Murasakibara-kun. It is also surprising to see you here."
"I was feeling sleepy but Kise-chin said something about upsetting Sa-chin and Azu-chin so I'm trying to find them." Kuroko nodded his head. Murasakibara's huge appetite hadn't changed and he was still attending practice. Meanwhile, Kuroko was avoiding his responsibilities to the team, when he was the weakest starting member. Once Murasakibara confirmed that he found them, he turned to Kuroko. "Say Kuro-chin, I have a request."
"What is it?"
"Azu-chin said that it may take a while for this to happen but she says she'll bake a huge cake when all six of us attend practice for the entire time, for at least three days in a row. Can you, Kise-chin and Mine-chin make that happen sometime before Christmas?" He wasn't one to chuckle too often but Kuroko found it humorous that Murasakibara's priorities hadn't changed.
"I can't speak for Kise-kun or Aomine-kun but I'll do my best to fulfill that request by then."
"Hm… Guess I have to talk to Mine-chin myself~"
"That sounds like a good idea. Well then, see you, Murasakibara-kun." Kuroko was quick to leave before the girls noticed his presence. He didn't have any answers for them yet; but if he had just a bit more time to figure himself out, he could look Momoi and Himeragi in the eyes. Murasakibara looked into the classroom and saw Momoi crying in Himeragi's arms. While he thought it'd be a pain to get involved, he figured he probably shouldn't have turned a blind eye, especially since Kise was also on the verge of tears.
"Sa-chin, what's wrong?"
"Mukkun, you idiot!" Himeragi was also surprised by Momoi's outburst and stifled a laugh. If Himeragi could be honest, she'd call all six of the Generation of Miracles, idiots, with that same resolute tone. "Why'd you have to provoke Akashi-kun?!" Murasakibara looked less than pleased to recall that and sheepishly combed back his bangs.
"I didn't have a good reason~ But if that's what's making you cry then I'll apologize. Sorry Sa-chin." Although Himeragi confirmed that Murasakibara was weak to tears, he didn't answer the given question.
"Why did you go against Akashi-kun?" When he sat down and fed some bread to Momoi, Himeragi smiled for just a moment.
"I really just didn't want to practice anymore." Since Murasakibara still looked guilty and Momoi was still tearing up, Himeragi thought she could push them both a little more.
"If you had beaten Akashi-kun, would it have changed your friendship with him?" Momoi hiccuped when she heard silence, as Murasakibara was quick to react, telling her not to cry again.
"Azu-chin really knows everything huh?"
"What do you mean?"
"Aka-chin's play style isn't even suited for one-on-ones. He probably just said it on the spot because I was questioning him." The girls instantly stared at him with a disapproving look, as if to say that if he knew, he shouldn't have done it. Unfortunately, Murasakibara figured that out, after the fact. "That's why I'm practicing now. I'm listening to Aka-chin so it's fine now isn't it?"
"Last question, Mukkun." It had been a while since he saw her mischievous smile, as he slightly gulped. "If you're listening to him because you fear him, is that the same as your friendship with him?"
"Azu-chin is way scarier by asking that question… It's like you know what snack I want to eat later too." Momoi agreed that Himeragi was to be feared and hiccuped again when Himeragi smiled at her. When Himeragi held both of their hands, they looked at her with blush on their cheeks.
"Unfortunately, there is still no solution to this mess. But thank you both for thinking about the team and of each other."
"That is all for practice today." Akashi said, dismissing the team, who was still sweating bullets and plopped on the ground from exhaustion. It was leg day for the basketball team, from laps around the track to squats. For most, it was the hellish regime of all. Seeing that Aomine came to practice late and didn't stick around, Momoi felt her heart constrict. Kuroko was still quiet and didn't speak to anyone, as Himeragi silently patted his back while he puked.
"Himeragi, about the footage we checked earlier…" It was nice to see Midorima and Himeragi getting along but where was Himeragi's typical banter with Kise and Aomine?
"Mido-chin, don't bother Azu-chin when she was just about to give me snacks~" As they argued about not caring about the other's circumstances, Himeragi noticed Momoi looking her way and she waved, as Momoi mustered up some strength to wave back. Himeragi was working hard to do something about the situation; she had to be strong as well. When Midorima saw Himeragi looking worried that Momoi's mood still hadn't improved, he stopped her from taking a step toward her.
"Not right now. Let's deal with the situation at hand, first." Midorima said, purposely taking Himeragi's attention away from the melancholic Momoi. She nodded and smiled at Momoi and Midorima wondered how she could still smile in this situation. It was valid for her to be upset as well. But because they were walking with Akashi as well, Midorima didn't say anything. When the female students saw the appearance of two male students, their eyes instantly darted to each other's, feeling less comfortable already.
"Himeragi-san, I'm sorry for the inconvenience but I don't think I can speak honestly about my emotions with two male athletes in the room as well." Himeragi knew she'd get resistance to the idea and scanned the room to check the consensus.
"I'm sorry for creating discomfort. But I didn't bring these two here to show you examples of male gentlemen that respect women or to dispel your worries." Just when Akashi thought the two of them wouldn't see eye to eye anymore, Himeragi exceeded his expectations. "We don't want you to always feel this way. We want to simultaneously get rid of the privileges of the five people that wronged you all and set the record straight: not every male student is a lousy jerk, not every female student is a meek target and vice-versa. Is that alright with you?" When the girls assessed Midorima and Akashi, they saw polite men that didn't look like they were taking this situation lightly at all.
"Yes. Please take care of us." The girls bowed, as Himeragi, Midorima and Akashi did the same. As Himeragi started up her laptop, Akashi scanned the ten girls in the room.
"For some of the cases, we have surveillance footage of what happened so you definitely won't have to testify in person. What I am more concerned about is if there were follow up incidents." When Akashi listed the three boys' names, some of the girls shuddered. Himeragi took over with the questioning, as Akashi and Midorima took notes, not saying a word. The girls spoke of detrimental rumors, being threatened outside of school property and being afraid to step outside of their classrooms on some days. There was one particular testimony that was exaggerated, however. There was no reported injury on the date she described and although it wouldn't serve as much evidence, Midorima recalled his classmate didn't come to school with an injury on her arm.
"I'd like to make one thing clear. This proposal is meant to bring justice to whoever has harassed you. However, defamation is not the answer to your sorrows." Himeragi was going to let them cross that bridge when they got there but as expected of Akashi; he addressed it as soon as he predicted that it could be a problem. Knowing he was one of two male presences in the room and could easily suffer backlash, Akashi still said something. Himeragi smiled, knowing that it was the right choice to bring him here. "This is not to say that I do not care for the prejudice that women face on a daily basis. But lying won't solve your worries." The girl was immediately on the defensive, as this was originally a space for the victims of verbal and sexual harassment to comfortably talk. The other girls didn't expect the gracious Akashi to speak about such matters, wondering if their fellow female student was actually lying. But Himeragi, Midorima and Akashi already took a look at the surveillance footage for the event being described at the moment.
"Why are you so sure I lied, President?" As Midorima and Himeragi just stared in disbelief because this student still didn't catch onto the fact that she pointed out a person that no one else spoke out about, Akashi looked straight at her.
"Assault is certainly more punishable than verbal abuse for example. But if you lie about an incident, it only makes it harder to punish him for what he did." Akashi said, as Himeragi checked the notes once more.
"You should always advocate for yourself with genuine intentions. If you lie, you won't help anyone, let alone yourself." Midorima said, as his classmate recalled that he would have known if she came to school with said bandage on her wrist.
"We can't condone lying but we won't let him just continue his last year without any repercussions. So please trust us." Himeragi's final tidbit made the student tear up and hold her hand. More horrific rumors were revealed as Midorima could see a fire blazing around Himeragi. What was even worse was that this girl was one of the involved sports team's managers, who had to go through with this treatment, on top of the athlete in question not showing up to practice anymore.
"How foolish. He dug his own grave." Midorima commented, as Himeragi nodded. They had more than enough evidence against the individuals in question. But the girls in the room still looked unconvinced and terrified of the consequences of speaking up. "If you're worried about being targeted if they come back to this school, I wouldn't worry too much." Himeragi and Akashi were surprised by Midorima's activeness, having not discussed countermeasures. "Himeragi's committee is already on the lookout for all five of them. With her included in the patrols after we bring this up to the board of directors, your only concern may be how many bones she ends up shattering." Although that did cheer up the girls who slightly laughed, not knowing he could joke like this, it was at Himeragi's expense. While she glared at him for painting her as some wild animal, Himeragi suddenly had a thought.
"While we're all gathered here, why not make this a workshop on consent? These situations could arise again but my committee would be more than happy to assist with showing you how to say no!" The girls all became excited at the prospect. It wasn't a bad idea but who was going to carry out the scenarios? Surely… "I'll call the male committee members and print out the testimonies for you all to sign, while I'm at it." The girls were onboard with the idea before Himeragi threw in another detail. "Don't worry, if they attempt any risky business, I'll be in charge of punishments." Although it was reassuring for the girls, Midorima looked a little frightened by her smirk. When Himeragi came back with the printouts, she didn't look happy to see the scene her committee member was making.
" 'All that I can see is you.' " Midorima didn't look pleased either. They did not tell the Disciplinary Committee member to perform a kabedon* or say a frivolous sentence, in English even. As the girl that had been crying suddenly blushed and looked up at him with starry eyes, Himeragi intervened, slapping a sticker on his cheek for being ridiculous.
"I said show her the ways of a gentleman! You did not ask for her consent before pinning her to the wall!" When the girl didn't object, Himeragi suddenly realized that there was no lesson to learn here if the students were just falling in love. "Student, you must keep your guard up around boys. As soon as they do something you did not consent to and dislike, use self-defense if you can't use words."
"You're just advocating for that 'kick to the crotch move' aren't you?!" Midorima wasn't wrong in his assumption and Himeragi didn't deny it. Akashi looked at the madness with indifferent eyes. There was a simple way to steer them back on track, as they finished obtaining the signatures. The surveillance camera footage was already downloaded onto the laptop and saved elsewhere as well. With the addition of four more boys, the classroom was far from quiet at this point.
"Simply said, this is what the Vice-President means." When he stepped in front of her, she looked up at him with questioning eyes. It was already surprising that he got up out of his seat to join the fray. "May I?"
"Do what?" Midorima nodded his head. A girl had the right to ask what she was getting herself into.
"May I invade your personal space?"
"No you may not!" Himeragi said in English, as Midorima translated for her. Whether it be Akashi or any other guy, Himeragi would never allow that, given the choice. The boys gave her a thumbs up for her reaction, as it was the model answer in this scenario. "Some boys even take blushing as consent! That's a sign of an improper, poorly versed in etiquette individual! No means no! Do you understand?" she said to all the girls in the room, who nodded their heads, even though they needed her sentences to be translated for them.
"I don't expect you to account for every situation because that is an impossible expectation. Instead, I expect you to depend on us when you need and want to. Do you understand, Vice-President?" Although she didn't show a physical reaction, Himeragi wanted to call him unfair for giving her reassurance but not allowing her to give it back to him. He said it quiet enough for only Midorima to hear as well.
"Can I ask a question?" Midorima and Akashi turned around to face Himeragi, who had been quiet. "If this project is a success, then it goes against you allowing the starters to stop attending practice. Is that okay with you?"
"How strange." Her eyes widened when she saw him smirk. He resembled the old Akashi, who found amusement in her plans. "When did you become someone that said 'if' instead of 'when'?" Midorima blinked his eyes; Akashi's current demeanor was far from the frightening aura his second half showed at basketball practice.
"Then I will continue being cheeky!" Even Midorima couldn't rebuke her when she smiled so brightly. Truthfully, it was reassuring to him that Himeragi didn't change at all during this period.
"Tone it down will you? Even when the board approves of this, it won't be passed for another two weeks."
"That's a whole two weeks to collect our troublemakers, no?" When Midorima felt himself blushing at Himeragi's wink, he looked away. When Midorima objected on the grounds that she was being a busybody, Akashi stifled a chuckle.
"You are fighting a losing battle, Shintaro." Midorima instantly understood his drift and sighed, telling Himeragi that he'd accompany her on some of her whims, if he had time. Their conversation was interjected by one of the girls, who had a follow-up question.
"What about the ones that are purposefully playful?" A girl suddenly asked, as Himeragi asked her to elaborate.
"Do you mean someone that asks the right questions but does so in an irritating way?" Himeragi asked, being spot on. As the girls nodded, she thought for a moment. "Those individuals are a different breed. It's best to avoid them if you don't want to get caught up in mind games." Although she was never in that situation, she could imagine how it would pan out.
"Thank you for doing this on our behalf."
"After all, it's our job to protect the students of our school."
"Well said, Shintarō." Akashi said, flashing a smile that made the girls swoon.
"How does he do that?" Midorima asked, watching the girls flock to Akashi. When he glanced at Himeragi's expression, he felt relieved that she was smiling, primarily because she was always worried that Akashi would continue intimidating others into obedience. If her feelings for Akashi were still only at this level, then Midorima was reassured, for now. "If you're happy, then it's alright." Midorima whispered when Himeragi wasn't paying attention.
"We have confidence that you'll bring them to justice." The girls said, crowding Himeragi this time. She grinned, looking at all of the males on her team.
"Let's bring them to justice, together!" She said, as they all agreed with her. Midorima and Akashi thought the scene resembled a dog owner and a litter of four puppies but stayed quiet, not wanting to ruin the mood.
"President, Midorin." Although all of them were staring at the duo, they only saw Himeragi in their views. "Thank you." It amazed them every time that regardless of their lukewarm responses, she'd still use words of affirmation.
"Every time I think she's shouldering too much, she says this…" Midorima mused. Akashi agreed and didn't understand why he thought it was okay to smile at the moment. It was bizarre to him that she could still smile this way in front of him.
"Ah*." Without thinking, both slightly smiled, as the girls in the classroom were all enamored. When they resumed their rowdy behavior, Midorima spoke up.
"When she's working so hard to keep us together, why do you push her away, Akashi?" Midorima may have been dishonest about his own feelings but he knew when he saw someone else doing the same. Akashi didn't answer and stepped into the room, knowing that he didn't have an answer to that question. "Regardless of your reasons, I will make this clear. Even if we're enemies on this front, I won't push away Himeragi." Akashi didn't react, continuing to watch her smile amidst the people around her.
Because of Akashi and Himeragi's presentation, the proposal was passed without a hitch as they turned their efforts toward "collecting their troublemakers."
"With this new doctrine, we will only permit absences with signed notes. Any player that skips practice more than three times will be brought in to speak with the head coach." When Akashi turned his head to look at Aomine, he looked away, knowing he was the most problematic in his eyes. "Skipping includes leaving practice before it's over. If it's a starter, the first step is demotion." As the players thought that Akashi was a demon, Himeragi and Midorima were nonchalant about the reactions, since they helped to make this happen.
"We'd like to add that this rule doesn't go into effect for another week. So for the slackers, this is your last week to skip before countermeasures will be taken."
