Chapter 2x15: What We Really Are
Lydia and Cora stayed in the jeep while Stiles and Nate walked to the hospital to tell Melissa their plan so she could sneak them to Danny's room and they were successful enough to get inside without anyone even caring.
"Danny, you awake?" - asked Stiles
"The fuck are you doing" - said Nate in a yell/whisper slapping the back of Stiles head - "just shut up and go through his stuff" - he said mad
"Ok, ok" - said Stiles walking to Danny's bag and start to look inside of it
"What are you doing?" - asked Danny all the sudden
Danny didn't open his eyes he seems to be still loopy from the meds, Stiles stopped about to freak out and he was about to say something, but Nate got an idea and covered Stiles mouth before he could talk.
"Mmm Danny...I always wanted this" - said Nate in a sultry voice
"Nate...fuck..." - mumbled Danny suddenly smirking
Stiles looked at Danny and then at Nate with a confused and a little angry look, the silver haired boy shushed Stiles and signaled him to keep looking at Danny's backpack.
"Yes, all yours big guy" - said Nate cringing at his own words realizing how awkward that sounded
"Your mouth is so good" - said Danny making the werewolf smirk realizing that it worked
Stiles looked up blushed at the scene, but seemed relieve to see that nothing was actually happening and it was just Danny's hallucinating because his meds.
"Wait till you see how tight I am" - said Nate trying really hard to not laugh
Stiles stands up going to where Nate was to slap him in the back with a paperwork and signaled him to get out, when they were about to head out Nate grabbed Stiles arm and pointed at Danny with a smirk, the Hawaiian boy displayed a tent under the hospital covers, Stiles rolled his eyes grabbing Nate's arm to pull him away from the room.
"Danny boy has nothing to be ashamed" - said Nate giggling
"You are awful" - said Stiles rolling his eyes while the werewolf still giggled a little
"So what did you find?" - asked Nate
"This" - said Stiles showing the report to Nate
"Telluric currents?" - asked Nate
"Yep, I think it means something, let's call Scott and tell him about it" - said Stiles
"So what does this kid's homework have to do with finding Deaton?" - asked Cora
"You are talking as if you weren't a kid yourself" - said Nate to her
"Because it's not just homework, it's a project on geomagnetic fields, they flow through the earth and they can even be affected by lunar phases, all right? Now, look at this" - explained Stiles before showing the group the cover of the paperwork - "This is a note from Harris on Danny's proposal" - said Stiles
"I strongly advise you to choose another subject, the ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudo-science, not suitable for class." - read Lydia out loud
"Harris wasn't just a sacrifice, he knew something" - declared Scott
"Now, check this out. Allison's dad wasn't the only one with a map, all right? Danny had one too" - said Stiles showing the map to the group - "Danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? Now, the weird thing about beacon hills is that it actually is a beacon, you wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town" - he explained
"Stiles, look, they match" - said Nate signaling to both maps
"All right, there's three places, right? Where they're kidnapped and then the place where their body was found" - said Scott signaling to different spots in the map
"Look, that's right on the telluric current" - said Lydia
"Seems like genius works after all" - said Nate earning a smirk from Lydia
"So, maybe where he was sacrificed is somewhere in between..." - trailed Scott
"Let me see that" - interrupted Stiles taking the maps - "You said there are six more bodies to be found, Deaton's one of them, got to be somewhere in between, right?" - He said trying to signal something but Cora took his hand making Nate arch an eyebrow
"Stop, he's in the vault, he's in the same vault" - signaled Cora with Stiles hand making Nate and Scott start to move to the door
"Guys, hold on" - said Lydia making both werewolves stop
"Lydia, we don't have time" - said Nate
"It's Boyd" - said Cora looking at her phone gaining everybody's attention - "the plan didn't work, they cut the power" - she said
"Nate and I are going for Deaton, you guys go for Derek" - said Scott - "we can save both of them" - he added before running to his bike with Nate
Scott rush them to the bank where they found Boyd and Cora captive before and Erica died, Nate felt a little uneasy going to that place once again where his best friend died, but he wanted to help in the best way possible.
When the werewolves got inside the vault they saw Deaton hanging by his arms and Scott run to help him only to be pushed away from him by a force field, but Nate catch him before he could hit the ground
"Are you ok?" - Asked Nate and Scott nod - "is mountain ash, we can't go through that, what do we do?" - He asked looking around to see if he could find something that could help them get through it
"What about if we push through it?" - asked Scott
"What? Scott nobody can do that" - said Nate
"We have to try" - said Scott
Nate stared at Scott for a second before nodding and they slowly approached the mountain ash circle to touch with their hands the force field, both realizing that without forcing it they didn't get a shock, then both boys started to push grunting while pushing as hard as they could, Deaton winced looking at their direction his eyes became wide as he look at the werewolves just before the energy push them back to the floor.
"Fuck...that hurt" - said Nate
"We gotta try again" - said Scott
"Scott! Nate! Let me give it a shot" - said Mr. Stilinski
The Sheriff shoot at the rope that was hanging Deaton making him collapse to the ground, the werewolves stand up as the Sheriff go to help Deaton and just when he was out of the mountain ash circle, the teens helped him to put Deaton against a wall so he could rest but also talk to them.
"How'd you find us?" - asked Nate
"The vials in the clinic with the Celtic symbols, I knew that one of them looked familiar" - explained Mr. Stilinski signaling at the symbol on the floor of the bank
"Sheriff, thank you for being one hell of a Detective" - said Deaton in a tired tone
"You bet, let's get you an ambulance" - said the Sheriff giving them space
"Your eyes were red, bright red" - whispered Deaton to Scott earning a shock and confused look from him and Nate
"How is that possible?" - asked Scott
"Paramedics are on their way, I'll be back in half a minute" - said the Sheriff before walking away from the scene
"It's rare, it's something that doesn't happen within 100 years, but every once in a while a beta can become an Alpha without having to steal or take that power, they call it a True Alpha, it's one who rises purely on the strength of the character, by virtue, by sheer force of will" - explained Deaton
"You knew this would happen" - asked Scott
"I believed, from the moment I knew you were bitten, I believed" - declared Deaton
"You're not the only one" - said Nate remembering what Ethan told him
"No, Deucalion isn't after Derek, he's after Scott and you" - said Deaton
"What you said explained why he is going after Scott, but why me?" - asked Nate
"Your eyes glowed differently as well while pushing through the force field of the mountain ash, they were turquoise" - said Deaton
"Ok and what does that mean?" - asked Nate still confused
"You are a Delta" - said Deaton - "it's just as rare as the True Alpha, a Delta is the second in command for the Alpha, stronger than a Beta and a range just certain of them can rise to" - he explained
"That explains why I been feeling weird and not myself lately" - said Nate
"Because the Delta sense disturbance in the pack, being the second in command makes you have the need to take care of the pack like a protector, until he fully manifest you will still feel the struggle of him inside of you trying to come out" - said Deaton
"There are other things I been feeling...and doing...but we can talk that later"- said Nate awkwardly - "why would Deucalion want a Delta on his Alpha pack?" - He asked
"A Delta's can heritage the range of the Alpha through a bite from him, but not only that, they can also transmit their consciousness to the Delta's body, basically the Delta cease to exist so the Alpha takes over" - explained Deaton to the shocked silver haired werewolf realizing what that could mean for Deucalion
