Note: I do not own any of the characters included.

I just want to say that none of the tips that Deathstroke or Batgirl mention about committing crimes or crime-fighting have any truth to them. They're all completely made-up.

Chapter 20

Barbara Gordon/Batgirl

It was evening when it happened. Deathstroke was going on about the plan for tonight's mission, but I was hardly listening. I would've been, but all he was going over was stuff I already knew. He had said the only reason he needed to go over them was because I hadn't done too well lately. I couldn't argue with that, or, since he still had the probes in my friends, argue with him at all. He continued to talk about how to hide from security and I continued to half-listen.

"Since you have shown to not know how to keep the alarms off, I should inform you that most alarm systems sense the movement of your feet walking past. Perching on the ceiling should help. Forgetting this can get your friends killed, do you understand?" He kept going. I wasn't about to forget it. I'd focus more next time. Stop letting my emotions control me. But I already knew a bit about alarm systems because Bruce had mentioned it. Batman had been talking about common places the more sneaky of villains hid. The ceiling was one. Since I was now a criminal, I had to know how to be a sneaky one. The sort that Batman had to talk to his sidekicks about so they would be ready.

But suddenly, just as Deathstroke was about to start talking about where security guards were usually located, the alarm system on his own hideout went off.

"Intruder! Intruder!" It blared. He jumped out of his seat and went off to check who it was, gun in hand. I watched carefully as he spotted the trespassers. Two of them wore red, green, yellow, and black, while the third one wore black, gray, and yellow.

Batman and Robin… Or the Robins… I instantly recognized the three of them. Batman threw a batarang, knocking the gun out of my master's hand. Deathstroke gritted his teeth at them. But before he could attack back, he noticed something. On the big screen showing my friend's blood streams, some of the people's blood looked…. Normal. I was in no way able to fight Deathstroke, though. There were still probes in my team, just not in any of the batfamily. Bruce, Dick, and Jason seemed to notice this as well. They began mumbling about it, most likely the fact that there were also probes in the Junior Justice League. It was no mystery that they had gotten the probes out of themselves.

But despite not being completely free, I smiled. Before they had come along, I hadn't had any hope of escaping at all. But now that half the probes were gone, and somebody knew I was being blackmailed, there was a good chance I'd be free pretty soon. I had never been so happy in my life.
