Amanda and Billy are an established couple and Amanda has her own law firm.
Here we go
Billy gently pushed the door with his elbow while he balanced the fully loaded tray in his hands, glad he hadn't fully closed it. He padded through the fluffy rug all the while smiling at the sleeping form of his girlfriend.
Reaching the top of the bed, he placed the tray on the bedside table before turning his full attention on her. She was laying on her side with her black hair fanning the pillow around her head, holding the sheets with one hand. She looked so peaceful and so beautiful.
He could have stared at her for an eternity but he knew he had to wake her before the food got cold. Climbing onto the bed, he took another fond look at her before he leaned down and began peppering little kisses on her face smiling as she stirred.
Amanda sighed softly a smile forming on her face as she was pulled from her slumber by lips placing fluttering touches on the skin on her cheek, forehead and nose. Opening her eyes, she smiled when she saw her boyfriend's handsome face smiling at her. Pulling him closer to her, she connected her lips to his in a slow kiss.
"Hi." she said softly
"Hi." said Billy looking into her gorgeous eyes. "Happy birthday babe." he said gently caressing her cheek looking.
Amanda smiled, her eyes twinkling. "Thank you." Then she breathed in the scent of freshly made coffee, bacon and waffles and said, "Is that food I smell?"
"Yep. Breakfast in bed for the birthday girl." said Billy moving to get the tray, waiting until she settled herself in a comfortable sitting position before be places it on her lap. "I made your favorites."
"Thanks babe." said Amanda leaning in and perking his lips. "This looks so good." she said looking at the tray. There was coffee, waffles with syrup, bacon, scrambled eggs along with some mixed fruit in a bowl. "Where is yours?"
"Let me go get it. Eat up love." Said Billy getting up from the bed.
Amanda watched as he walked, looking so good in track pants and a white t-shirt. She returned to her food, a smile on her face then released a moan as she took the first bite of the perfectly made waffle.
When he returns, they sit together on the bed and eat in comfortable silence before Amanda said, "This is really good babe."
"Thanks. You know breakfast is my specialty." said Billy with a grin. "And I wanted it to make it special for you."
"Well you did and it was already going to be special because you are with me." said Amanda leaning in and kissing him softly on the lips. They both smiled at each other when they broke the kiss before returning to their food.
"So what are your plans for the day?" asked Billy after a moment of silence.
"Um, I have a meeting with Mr Jacobs to finish up his case and then I need to do some legwork, interviewing some people for a new case."
"Sounds like a busy day." said Billy. He was immensely proud of her. Since she had decided to reopen her firm, she had worked so hard to establish herself where there was already a number of big law firms as competition. Her record, coupled with her work ethic and praises from Devon, Nate and himself made it easier for her to gain clients and now, her firm was thriving.
"Not really. It's a lot less work than some other days." said Amanda with a smile.
"So does that mean you will finish work on time?" asked Billy. There were times where she had to work overtime usually a couple days leading to court appearances.
"Yeah. I am sure I'll be home by 6."
"Good."
Amanda narrowed her eyes suspiciously and said, "What do you have planned?"
"Not going to tell you." said Billy, laughing when he saw her pouting. She was so cute. "That's not going to work."
"You know I can get it out of you if I want to right?" said Amanda smugly.
"Of course. I bow down to your master skills of persuasion." Said Billy watching as she giggled. "If you must know, I got a dinner planned for us but that's all you are going to know."
"I can live with that." Said Amanda with a smile. She looked at the clock and groaned. "I have to get ready for work." said Amanda. Billy immediately took the tray from her lap allowing her the freedom to maneuver. He too got out of bed.
"Ugh. Me too. We should have gone on that island trip like I suggested." Pointed out Billy as he arranged the dishes in one tray so he could carry them out.
"Please don't remind me. Why did I say no again?"
"Because you have a new case that you absolutely have to attend to?" said Billy with a raised brow.
Amanda groaned rolling her eyes making Billy laugh.
She then walked up to him, took the tray from his hands and set it on the bed before she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling his head down, connecting their lips in a passionate kiss. She moaned as he immediately wrapped his strong arms around her and they stood there kissing.
"I know we don't have time but I want you." said Amanda huskily.
"Anything for the birthday girl." said Billy pulling her into another passionate kiss. "How about we go shower together?" said Billy perking her full lips. "We could save some water and time." He adding his hands going to work, removing her clothes which were just his GCU t-shirt that she loved and panties.
"Hmm, good idea..." said Amanda before, in between kisses, she helped him remove his t-shirt and pants. She squealed when he lifted her in his arms and walked them to the shower setting her down just inside the large shower room.

Amanda looked at him for a moment then opened the small box. She gasped as she saw what was inside, a gorgeous gold charm bracelet, simple but clearly expensive. She picked up the delicate jewellery and saw there were 4 charms on it already.
"This one is your birthday of course." He said fingering the date on one of the charms. "This one (symbol of justice) is for your law career. The glass is for your love for scotch." They share a laugh at that. "And this, is a Celtic symbol that signifies strength. You have endured a lot in your life and you are the strongest woman that I know. You amaze me."
Tears in her eyes, she pulls him in a warm hug holding him close then watched as he clipped it on her wrist before kissing the inside of her wrist. Amanda felt her heart flutter. "It's so beautiful. Thank you." said Amanda truly touched at the thoughtful gift.
"Happy birthday my love." Said Billy before kissing her lips gently.

Amanda entered her office building a spring in her step, entering the elevator her eyes just straying to her wrist. The morning had been perfect. Who wouldn't want breakfast in bed, sex in the shower and then a gorgeous thoughtful gift?
Billy really was a romantic. It's something that had surprised her but also something she welcomed. He was the flowers, cute little romantic notes kind of guy and she felt so lucky being with him.
Also she had received birthday messages from her friends and family, the cutest moment being when Johnny and Katie had called her catching her right before she left the house singing the classic happy birthday to her.
Growing up in foster care, she had never really put emphasis on the day. It was just another day. It was only when she got to college and met her best friend Josie that she began to appreciate and actually look forward to the day. And today was the best of them all.
Amanda walked out of the elevator and walked to her office passing through her assistant's desk. Michelle (come on. I had to insert myself somewhere at some point right? Lol) who was now a friend to her and also currently dating Nate. Yes and she hadn't played match maker at all.
Her breakup with Nate had been mutual since they weren't serious in the first place and because of that, they remained close friends. Nate had come to her office one day, saw her assistant and they had hit it off. She was happy for them.
"Hi Amanda! Happy birthday!" she said with a grin handing her a flat wrapped box.
"Thank you Michelle. It's certainly going to be." said Amanda taking the little gift and opening it, smiling when she saw a black and gold customized journal. "Oh this is wonderful. Thank you." she said sincerely smiling at the woman who she now considered her friend.
"You are welcome." said Michelle with a smile. She had been working here for almost 6months and this was the best job yet. Amanda was the best boss and she had learnt a lot from her. She was still a paralegal but she hoped to be a lawyer someday.
"You got the Jacobs files ready?"
"Yep." said Michelle handing her the file.
"Thank you." said Amanda and with a smile she went into her office.
She just had time to go through the file before Mr. Jacobs came and they had their meeting which lasted a little over an hour. Everything was settled and she could officially close the case. The generous bonus check he had given her only made her day that much sweeter.
She was just about settling when there was a knock on the door. Thinking perhaps it was Michelle, she said, "Come in."
When the door opened, she was first greeted by the most beautiful bouquet of assorted tulip arrangement she had ever seen along with a wrapped box. The young man carrying them said, "Are you Miss Sinclair? The woman on the front desk said so."
"Yes I am."
"I need you to sign here." He said producing a small booklet. Amanda picked up a pen and signed.
"Thank you miss. Have a wonderful day."
"Same to you." said Amanda watching as he walked out then walked to the flowers plucking the card from it. She smiled as she read, 'Hi beautiful. Something to brighten your day until I can see you. Don't work too hard. It's your day. I love you.'
She breathed in the sweet scent of the flowers before she turned to the box wondering what Billy had got her. The bracelet was more than enough. She opened the gift and smiled. there was a box of her favorite chocolate, a box with a personalized pen, a box of her favorite coffee that she indulged in on special occasions because it was very expensive and a coffee mug. She burst out in laughter at the lettering 'Happy birthday to my coffee buddy'
It seemed like a lifetime ago when she had suggested they become coffee buddies, because she was scared of her feelings for him and now she was the happiest she had ever been, in the healthiest relationship she had ever been in.
He often teased her about it and she was so getting him back for that.
She took out her phone and typed, 'Thanks coffee buddy. My boyfriend certainly made sure it's a wonderful day.'
That was the start of teasing texts between them almost until lunch. She loved that about their relationship. They laughed, they talked, they were open with each other and they had fun together. She cherished it.

The rest of the day went well with her clients and acquaintances sending her birthday wishes and presents. Devon made it even better when he stopped by to wish her a happy birthday.
Just a little after she started dating Billy and after a lot of deliberation, she decided to find out once and for all if she was related to Hilary. Devon and billy had taken it upon themselves to help her search. With their resources it didn't take long for the truth to emerge.
She and Hilary were twin sisters. They were born to a woman named Maria, who was at the time in prison for a drug related crime. They were placed in foster care. Anna had come and adopted Hilary. It was not clear if she knew they were twins or not but that's how they got separated. After stints in and out of prison, Maria had died of a drug overdose. She had never been married or had any more kids and she was estranged from her family so there really was no one.
Amanda had mourned the loss of a sister she had never really known but at the same time she was grateful for the life she had. She couldn't imagine having a drug dealer as a mother.
But it was a turning point in her and Devon's relationship. As they bonded over Hilary, they grew closer. In a sense, they were family. In turn she also grew closer to Elena and she had gained a family and she appreciated it very much. He was like a brother to her, protective and someone she could go to when she had a problem.
At around 4 just as she was finishing compiling information she had gathered for her new case, there was a short knock on her door and then before she could answer, it opened revealing her best friend Phyllis.
"Hey girl! Nice flowers!"
"Thanks." Said Amanda with a smile.
"Don't tell me he only gave you that."
"Is that your way of snooping?"
"You know me. Now spill. What else did he get you?"
Amanda rolled her eyes then said, "Breakfast in bed…this coffee mug and…this." she said holding out the charm bracelet.
"Damn. I should send Nick to him for lessons in romance." Teased Phyllis.
"Nick won't be too happy to hear that." Said Amanda laughing. "So are you here to just snoop or did you need something?"
"First I am here to give you this." she said handing her a wrapped up present. "I won't be able to see you later. I got a date with Nick."
"Oh that's nice." She said opening the present gasping when she took out a (use your imagination on this. I couldn't think of what Phyllis would get Mandy). "It's beautiful Phyllis. Thank you." She said hugging her.
"You are welcome." Said Phyllis hugging her back. "Second, are you almost done?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"I need your help. I want to pick a dress for the date with Nick."
"Now? Billy is planning a dinner for us and he is coming to pick me up soon since he drove me here."
"It won't take time. I promise and I'll drive you home. Beside, you could get an outfit too for the dinner. Come on."
Realizing there was no use arguing with her friend, she said, "Fine. But we have to be quick." She packed up her stuff and bidding farewell to Michelle reminding her to lock up, they left the building.
She sent a text to Billy informing him of the change in plans as Phyllis drove them to XR boutique (made it up), one of the best in the city. You could never go wrong in there though it was costly.
They were greeted by the girls who worked in there before they set about helping them.
"Ok, so what are we looking for?" asked Amanda.
"A dress preferably, short and flirty. Teasing but not in a slutty kind of way."
"Ok…" drawled out Amanda in amusement then went to look at the dresses all the while chatting about the not so important issues. Taking trips to the changing room, Phyllis eventually settled on a gorgeous green dress, just past her knees, with thick straps. She paired it with black strappy sandals.
"So what do you think?" asked Phyllis giving a twirl.
"Perfect!"
"Good, now you."
Amanda shook her head. "Phyllis, I really don't need anything. Besides, the time..."
"Don't worry about that. It's not even late. We will make it on time so go on. Pick a dress."
"Ok then." said Amanda looking around. The ladies helped her pick out 3 dresses she could try out. It was the last one that she loved and made everyone wow. The dress was red, bodycon stopping almost mid-thigh, with one shoulder and fit her perfectly.
"Damn you look hot!" said her best friend in a typical 'Phyllis' fashion. Of course they had to look for shoes and they eventually settled on the black red sole pumps. Amanda was worried about how much they cost. "Hey, it's your birthday. Let me do this."
Seeing how much it meant to her friend, she relented. "Look, we have to go." said Amanda seeing it was almost 6.
"Ok. Come on."
"We need to change." Pointed out Amanda.
"No we don't. I am meeting Nick and you already have a date. There is no need to change. Besides, we don't have time." said Phyllis waiting as they girls removed the tags from the clothes.
Amanda had to admit she was making sense. She nodded and after thanking the girls for their help, they heeded to Phyllis' car.

"Are you coming in?" asked Amanda as Phyllis killed the engine.
"Yep. Gotta see Billy's reaction to seeing you in that dress. I still have some time to spare."
Amanda laughed at that. She knew Phyllis and Billy had dated. Both of them were honest about it. She knew the history behind and she also knew there was nothing between them except friendship.
Entering the house, she was greeted by her man.
"Hi Phyllis," said Billy smiling at the red head before turning to his girl. "Hi babe." said Billy taking her in her arms before lightly kissing her since Phyllis was present. "You look beautiful." He said looking her over. He loved her in everything she wore but red did something to him and that dress was gorgeous on her.
"Thank you. Curtsy of Phyllis. She insisted." she said sending an appreciative glance at her friend. "You look good too." He was in a dark blue suit with a white shirt and no tie. He looked so handsome.
"Thanks." He said leaning and kissing her again just because and this time the kiss was longer
Phyllis watched them, heart warmed at the love clear between them. She had dated Billy yes and though it was odd for some, she was really happy for them. She was over Billy and had told him before that Victoria wasn't right for him. She had been prove right and she was glad he was finally happy
She cleared her throat exaggerated watching as the pair parted and Billy send her an eye roll while Amanda looked embarrassed.
"Where are Johnny and Katie? I thought they were coming for the weekend?" said Amanda with a little frown. When they were around she was always welcomed with bone squeezing hugs from the siblings.
"Yes. They are here. They are out back preparing a surprise for you. Come on and see. You can come too Phyllis since you are here."
"Don't think I'll say no." said Phyllis following the pair.
As they exited the back door to the backyard entertainment area, Amanda was startled when multiple voices shouted, "Happy birthday Amanda!"
Her eyes widened as she saw Devon and his now fiancée Elena, Nate and Michelle, Lily and her new boyfriend Sean, Jack, Jill, Johnny and Katie, David (Billy's best friend) with his wife Susan and Nick. "Oh my God!" She turned to Billy tears shining in her eyes. "How?"
"You told me you've never had a birthday party before because you didn't have family or friends growing up but now things have changed. You have friends and family who love you so… Happy birthday my love."
Before she could say anything, Johnny and Katie ran over to her giving her their customary bone crushing hug. "Happy birthday Amie!" said Katie.
"We did a surprise. Are you surprised?" asked Johnny an excited look on his smile face.
"I am." Said Amanda trying to control her emotions. "I am wonderfully surprised." said Amanda bending at the waist, kissing the cheeks of the 2 kids that had taken her heart. "Did you help plan this?"
"Uh huh. We chose the decorations. Do you like them?"
"I do. They are beautiful." Said Amanda hugging them again before she turned to the guests who were all smiling at her. "Wow…you guys. Thank you so much for being here. You don't know how this means to me. This is the best birthday ever." There were cheers.
"Since the birthday girl is here, let's get the party started." said Phyllis placing a sash that read, 'birthday girl'. There were more cheers as music sounded and waiters began moving around with finger food and wines.
"You knew about this didn't you?"
"Guilty as charged."
Amanda gasped as she made a realization. "And the boutique. you 2 conspired!"
"Hey we couldn't have you show up at your party in work clothes." said Phyllis with a smile and shrug.
Amanda laughed and said, "Thank you," while hugging her friend her heart bubbling. Her first ever birthday party. This was amazing and overwhelming.
Amanda went around, greeting her guests, chatting with them a wide smile on her face. Billy soon came and joined her, his hand around her waist. "You having fun?"
"I am. Thank you so much for this Billy."
"Anything for you." said Billy kissing her forehead.
Just then Katie ran up to them from where she had been sitting with Jill. "Amie, will you cut the cake now please?" asked little Katie bouncing on her feet. That girl had a very sweet tooth.
"There is cake?" said Amanda in surprise.
"It's not a party without cake." said Billy with Katie nodding in agreement.
"Well then let's go cut some cake." said Amanda taking the little girl's hand. Billy signaled for everyone to gather around and Amanda seated herself behind the food table with Johnny sitting beside her and Katie in her lap.
She watched as one of the waitress brought out a gorgeous cake with candles on it. Everyone sang her the traditional happy birthday song. Johnny and Katie helped her cut the cake and she smiled when she saw it was red velvet, her favorite.
Pieces were cut and shared among the guests then Amanda was surprised again by presents. She honestly could not keep the smile or tears off her face. She was just so happy.
"Thank you so much for this Billy. Today has been so wonderful." said Amanda looking into her boyfriend's eyes as he swayed them to the music on the makeshift dance floor where people had joined then and were having fun.
"You deserve it and more." said Billy smiling down at her beautiful face before he leaned down and whispered, "I love you."
"I love you too." She said kissing him softly.
As they are dancing, Amanda felt a tug and looked down to see Johnny and Katie. Smiling she pulled them in and together, the 4 of them danced happiness in their hearts.
She never knew how much the decision to just leave everything, take a leap and come to Genoa on a case that turned to be false would change her life. She had gained friends, a family through her deceased twin sister, a handsome loving boyfriend with 2 amazing kids and a family that accepted her. It was all amazing.
